Abstract
The fascinating electrochemical properties of the redox-active compound ferrocene have inspired researchers across the globe to develop ferrocene-based electrocatalysts for a wide variety of applications. Advantages including excellent chemical and thermal stability, solubility in organic solvents, a pair of stable redox states, rapid electron transfer, and nontoxic nature improve its utility in various electrochemical applications. The use of ferrocene-based electrocatalysts enables control over the intrinsic properties and electroactive sites at the surface of the electrode to achieve specific electrochemical activities. Ferrocene and its derivatives can function as a potential redox medium that promotes electron transfer rates, thereby enhancing the reaction kinetics and electrochemical responses of the device. The outstanding electrocatalytic activity of ferrocene-based compounds at lower operating potentials enhances the specificity and sensitivity of reactions and also amplifies the response signals. Owing to their versatile redox chemistry and catalytic activities, ferrocene-based electrocatalysts are widely employed in various energy-related systems, molecular machines, and agricultural, biological, medicinal, and sensing applications. This review highlights the importance of ferrocene-based electrocatalysts, with emphasis on their properties, synthesis strategies for obtaining different ferrocene-based compounds, and their electrochemical applications.

Abstract
Pesticides, chemical substances extensively employed in agriculture to optimize crop yields, pose potential risks to human and environmental health. Consequently, regulatory frameworks are in place to restrict pesticide residue concentrations in water intended for human consumption. These regulations are implemented to safeguard consumer safety and mitigate any adverse effects on the environment and public health. Although gas chromatography- and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS) are highly efficient techniques for pesticide quantification, their use is not suitable for real-time monitoring due to the need for sophisticated laboratory pretreatment of samples prior to analysis. Since they would enable analyte detection with selectivity and sensitivity without sample pretreatment, biosensors appear as a promising alternative. These consist of a bioreceptor allowing for specific recognition of the target and of a detection platform, which translates the biological interaction into a measurable signal. As early detection systems remain urgently needed to promptly alert and act in case of pollution, we review here the biosensors described in the literature for pesticide detection to advance their development for use in the field.

Abstract
This paper presents a novel nano-material composite membrane for detecting aflatoxin B1 (AFB1). The membrane is based on carboxyl-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH) @ antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO)-chitosan (CS). To prepare the immunosensor, MWCNTs-COOH were dissolved in the CS solution, but some MWCNTs-COOH formed aggregates due to the intertwining of carbon nanotubes, blocking some pores. ATO was added to the solution containing MWCNTs-COOH, and the gaps were filled by adsorbing hydroxide radicals to form a more uniform film. This greatly increased the specific surface area of the formed film, resulting in a nano-composite film that was modified on screen-printed electrodes (SPCEs). The immunosensor was then constructed by immobilizing anti-AFB1 antibodies (Ab) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) on an SPCE successively. The assembly process and effect of the immunosensor were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Under optimized conditions, the prepared immunosensor exhibited a low detection limit of 0.033 ng/mL with a linear range of 1 × 10-3-1 × 103 ng/mL. The immunosensor demonstrated good selectivity, reproducibility, and stability. In summary, the results suggest that the MWCNTs-COOH@ATO-CS composite membrane can be used as an effective immunosensor for detecting AFB1.

Abstract
There has been a rise in pesticide use as a result of the growing industrialization of agriculture. Organophosphorus pesticides have been widely applied as agricultural and domestic pest control agents for nearly five decades, and they remain as health and environmental hazards in water supplies, vegetables, fruits, and processed foods causing serious foodborne illness. Thus, the rapid and reliable detection of these harmful organophosphorus toxins with excellent sensitivity and selectivity is of utmost importance. Aptasensors are biosensors based on aptamers, which exhibit exceptional recognition capability for a variety of targets. Aptasensors offer numerous advantages over conventional approaches, including increased sensitivity, selectivity, design flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. As a result, interest in developing aptasensors continues to expand. This paper discusses the historical and modern advancements of aptasensors through the use of nanotechnology to enhance the signal, resulting in high sensitivity and detection accuracy. More importantly, this review summarizes the principles and strategies underlying different organophosphorus aptasensors, including electrochemical, electrochemiluminescent, fluorescent, and colorimetric ones.

Abstract
In this work, a one-step homogeneous micro-orifice resistance immunoassay has been proposed for chlorpyrifos detection by integrating functionalized polystyrene (PS) microsphere probes with particle counting technology. The particle counter is highly sensitive and accurate for detecting the state of PS microspheres, where the particles of different states exhibit significant differences in resistance. The state of the functionalized PS microspheres is altered from dispersed to aggregated during the antigen-antibody recognition. Based on the degree of aggregation of the functionalized PS microsphere probes, chlorpyrifos can be quantitatively detected through the competitive immune response between PS antibodies and PS complete antigens. This one-step homogeneous micro-orifice resistance immunoassay simplified the procedures and greatly increased the sensitivity of detection, which has been successfully applied to detect chlorpyrifos in orange samples within 0.5 h, with the detection limit of 0.058 ng/mL.

Abstract
Chlorpyrifos (CP) is one of the most popular organophosphorus pesticides that is commonly used in agricultural and nonagricultural environments to combat pests. However, several concerns regarding contamination due to the unmitigated use of chlorpyrifos have come up over recent years. This has popularized research on various techniques for chlorpyrifos detection. Since conventional methods do not enable smooth detection, the recent trends of chlorpyrifos detection have shifted toward electrochemical and optical sensing techniques that offer higher sensitivity and selectivity. The objective of this review is to provide a brief overview of some of the important and innovative contributions in the field of electrochemical and optical sensing of chlorpyrifos with a primary focus on the comparative advantages and shortcomings of these techniques. This review paper will help to offer better perspectives for research in organophosphorus pesticide detection in the future.

Abstract
Herein, we report the preparation of a gold nanoparticle-thioglycolic acid (TGA@AuNP) suspension for the label-free colorimetric detection of the organophosphorus pesticide chlorpyrifos. This colorimetric sensor was synthesized by a one-pot method, providing thioglycolic acid (TGA)-modified gold nanoparticles with a negatively charged surface. The formation of TGA@AuNPs was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and dynamic light scattering (DLS). In addition, chlorpyrifos was quantitatively determined by UV-vis spectrophotometry. The modification time, TGA concentration, pH, incubation time, temperature, ionic strength, and interference of other pesticides were also investigated. The synthesized TGA@AuNP colorimetric sensor possesses a detection limit as low as 20 μg L-1 and a selective sensing response, and the detection time is less than 2 minutes. In addition, this method can also be applied to detect various practical samples in life, such as environmental water samples and tea.

Abstract
In this work, we propose a novel disposable flexible and screen-printed electrochemical aptamer-based sensor (aptasensor) for the rapid detection of chlorpyrifos (CPF). To optimize the process, various characterization procedures were employed, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). Initially, the aptasensor was optimized in terms of electrolyte pH, aptamer concentration, and incubation time for chlorpyrifos. Under optimal conditions, the aptasensor showed a wide linear range from 1 to 105 ng/mL with a calculated limit of detection as low as 0.097 ng/mL and sensitivity of 600.9 µA/ng. Additionally, the selectivity of the aptasensor was assessed by identifying any interference from other pesticides, which were found to be negligible (with a maximum standard deviation of 0.31 mA). Further, the stability of the sample was assessed over time, where the reported device showed high stability over a period of two weeks at 4 °C. As the last step, the ability of the aptasensor to detect chlorpyrifos in actual samples was evaluated by testing it on banana and grape extracts. As a result, the device demonstrated sufficient recovery rates, which indicate that it can find application in the food industry.

Abstract
A colorimetric aptasensor for chlorpyrifos detection utilizing the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of gold nanoparticle (AuNP) aggregates coupling with a specific aptamer and cationic polyethyleneimine (PEI) has been developed. The measurement principle is based on a remarkable characteristic of AuNPs that can change their colors under the aggregation and dispersion conditions, which enables a sensitive colorimetric detection. In the absence of chlorpyrifos, negatively charged phosphate backbones of the aptamer potentially interact with the cationic PEI, resulting in the red color appearance of the dispersed AuNPs, whereas, in the presence of chlorpyrifos, the aptamer binds explicitly to chlorpyrifos, consequently releasing cationic PEI. Uninteracted PEI induces AuNP aggregation, causing a color change from red to blue that can be observed through the naked eye. Under the optimized conditions, 6 nM PEI, 10 nM aptamer, and a pH buffer of 7.5, the colorimetric aptasensor gives a linear response in the range of 20-300 ng mL-1 with a low detection limit of 7.4 ng mL-1. The developed method has been successfully applied to complex sample analysis. The accuracy and precision of chlorpyrifos quantification in spiked samples, including tap water, pomelo, and longan samples, are in the acceptable criteria of method validation, indicating that the developed aptasensor can be utilized as an alternative analytical tool for chlorpyrifos determination in complex samples. This aptasensor provides advantages such as a simple procedure, low cost, short analysis time, and involving uncomplicated instruments. Moreover, it offers high sensitivity, selectivity, and stability.

Abstract
Two-dimensional Mo2C/Mo2N composites were synthesized by high temperature ball milling and used as support materials for fabricating a chlorpyrifos (CPF) aptasensor. Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were electrodeposited on the surface of a Mo2C/Mo2N-modified electrode to connect with the ferrocene (Fc) probe via Au-S bonds. The Fc probe can hybridize with the aptamer probe to form a double-stranded structure. The addition of CPF made the double strands melt and the Fc probe approached the surface of the electrode, thereby resulting in amplification of the electrochemical response. The current response of the aptasensor for detecting CPF in solutions linearly varied from 0 to 400 ng mL-1 (with a maximum at 0.98 V vs. Ag/AgCl). The Au NPs/Mo2C/Mo2N composites exhibited satisfactory electrochemical behavior due to their excellent electrical conductivity and large surface area. This ultrasensitive aptasensor showed a low limit of detection of 0.036 ng mL-1. It was applied to determine CPF in real samples with acceptable recoveries from 94.7 to 116.7%, and the relative standard deviation was from 2.57 to 7.08%.Graphical abstract Schematic diagram of the manufacturing process of the aptasensor. Electrochemical aptasensor based on Mo2C/Mo2N/Au NP composites show excellent performance in detecting CPF.

Abstract
Contamination by pesticides in the food chain and the environment is a worldwide problem that needs to be actively monitored to ensure safety. Unfortunately, standard pesticide analysis based on mass spectrometry takes a lot of time, money and effort. Thus, simple, reliable, cost-effective and field applicable methods for pesticide detection have been actively developed. One of the most promising technologies is an aptamer-based biosensor or so-called aptasensor. It utilizes aptamers, short single-stranded DNAs or RNAs, as pesticide recognition elements to integrate with various innovative biosensing technologies for specific and sensitive detection of pesticide residues. Several platforms for aptasensors have been dynamically established, such as colorimetry, fluorometry, electrochemistry, electrochemiluminescence (ECL) and so forth. Each platform has both advantages and disadvantages depending on the purpose of use and readiness of technology. For example, colorimetric-based aptasensors are more affordable than others because of the simplicity of fabrication and resource requirements. Electrochemical-based aptasensors have mainly shown better sensitivity than others with exceedingly low detection limits. This paper critically reviews the progression of pesticide aptasensors throughout the development process, including the selection, characterization and modification of aptamers, the conceptual frameworks of integrating aptamers and biosensors, the ASSURED (affordable, sensitive, specific, user-friendly, rapid and robust, equipment-free and deliverable to end users) criteria of different platforms and the future outlook.

Abstract
Aptasensors form a class of biosensors that function on the basis of a biological recognition. An aptasensor is advantageous because it incorporates a unique biologic recognition element, i.e., an aptamer, coupled to a transducer to convert a biological interaction to readable signals that can be easily processed and reported. In such biosensors, the specificity of aptamers is comparable to and sometimes even better than that of antibodies. Using the SELEX technique, aptamers with high specificity and affinity to various targets can be isolated from large pools of different oligonucleotides. Nowadays, new modifications of the SELEX technique and, as a result, easy generation and synthesis of aptamers have led to the wide application of these materials as biological receptors in biosensors. In this regard, aptamers promise a bright future. In the present research a brief account is initially provided of the recent developments in aptasensors for various targets. Then, immobilization methods, design strategies, current limitations and future directions are discussed for aptasensors.

Abstract
This study is on current developments concerning ferrocene (FC) and its derivatives on the basis of electrochemical biosensors and sensors. The distinct physiochemical characteristics of FC have enabled the development of new sensor devices, specifically electrochemical sensors. Several articles have focused on the implementation of FC as an electrode constituent while discussing its electrochemical behavior. Furthermore, typical FC-design-based biosensors and sensors are considered as well as practical examples. The favorable design of FC-based biosensors and general sensors needs adequate control of their chemical and physical characteristics in addition to their surface immobilization and functionalization.

Aptamers are synthetic bio-receptors of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) origin selected by the systematic evolution of ligands (SELEX) process that bind a broad range of target analytes with high affinity and specificity. So far, electrochemical biosensors have come up as a simple and sensitive method to utilize aptamers as a bio-recognition element. Numerous aptamer based sensors have been developed for clinical diagnostics, food, and environmental monitoring and several other applications are under development. Aptasensors are capable of extending the limits of current analytical techniques in clinical diagnostics, food, and environmental sample analysis. However, the potential applications of aptamer based electrochemical biosensors are unlimited; current applications are observed in the areas of food toxins, clinical biomarkers, and pesticide detection. This review attempts to enumerate the most representative examples of research progress in aptamer based electrochemical biosensing principles that have been developed in recent years. Additionally, this account will discuss various current developments on aptamer-based sensors toward heavy metal detection, for various cardiac biomarkers, antibiotics detection, and also on how the aptamers can be deployed to couple with antibody-based assays as a hybrid sensing platform. Aptamers can be used in various applications, however, this account will focus on the recent advancements made toward food, environmental, and clinical diagnostic application. Abstract
An aptasensor is described for electrochemical determination of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), specifically of profenofos, phorate, isocarbophos, and omethoate. The method uses a hairpin aptamer as signalling donor. Its 5' and 3' ends were modified with amino groups and the redox probe ferrocene (Fc), respectively. A nanocomposite consisting of graphene oxide and chitosan (GO-chit) was used to immobilize the aptamer via formation of an amide link. Its good conductivity facilitates monitoring of the electrochemical responses. Upon addition of an OPP, it will be bound by the aptamer. This results in an opening of the hairpin structure. Thus, Fc is shifted away from the surface of the electrode. As a result, the impedance increases and the redox signal of Fc decreases. The electrochemical performance, binding capacity and response of the aptasensor for profenofos, phorate, isocarbophos and omethoate were studied. The limits of detection are as low as 0.01, 0.1, 0.01 and 0.1 nM, respectively. Graphical abstract Schematic representation of an electrochemical aptasensor prepared by immobilizing ferrocene (Fc) labeled hairpin aptamer (HP) on the surface of graphene oxide-chitosan (GO-chit) modified electrode, and its application to the determination of organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) by voltammetry.

Dynamic interactions between peroxidase-mimic silver NanoZymes and chlorpyrifos-specific aptamers enable highly-specific pesticide sensing in river water. Anal Chim Acta 2019; 1083:157-165. Abstract
With growing environmental and health concerns over persistent organic compounds such as organophosphates, regulatory bodies have imposed strict regulations for their use and monitoring in water bodies. Although conventional analytical tools exist for the detection of organophosphorus pesticides, new strategies need to be developed to fulfil the ASSURED (affordable, sensitive, specific, user-friendly, rapid, equipment-free and deliverable to end users) criteria of the World Health Organisation. One such strategy is to employ the ability of certain nanoparticles to mimic the enzymatic activity of natural enzymes to develop optical sensors. We show that the intrinsic peroxidase-mimic NanoZyme activity of tyrosine-capped silver nanoparticles (Ag-NanoZyme) can be exploited for highly specific and rapid detection of chlorpyrifos, an organophosphorus pesticide. The underlying working principle of the proposed aptasensor is based on the dynamic non-covalent interaction of the chlorpyrifos specific aptamer (Chl) with the NanoZyme (sensor probe) vs. the pesticide target (analyte). The incorporation of the Chl aptamer ensures high specificity leading to a colorimetric response specifically in the presence of chlorpyrifos, while the sensor remains unresponsive to other pesticides from organophosphate and non-organophosphate groups. The robustness of the sensor to work directly in environmental samples was established by evaluating its ability to detect chlorpyrifos in river water samples. The excellent recovery rates demonstrate the sensor robustness, while the simplicity, and rapid sensor response (2 min) to detect the presence of chlorpyrifos highlights the capabilities of the proposed colorimetric sensing system.

Abstract
Chlorpyrifos is one of the most widely used pesticides that acts on the nervous system by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. Prolonged use of chlorpyrifos causes severe neurological, autoimmune, and persistent developmental disorders in humans. Therefore, in this study, a highly sensitive and robust biosensor platform was devised by fabricating graphene field effect transistors (graFET) on Si/SiO2 substrate for the detection of chlorpyrifos in real samples. Anti-chlorpyrifos antibodies were immobilized successfully on the graphene surface. Under optimal conditions, graFET sensor showed an excellent response for chlorpyrifos detection in the linear range of 1 fM to 1 µM with a limit of detection up to 1.8 fM in spiked samples. The developed graFET biosensor is highly stable, sensitive, and specific for chlorpyrifos as confirmed by its significant ability to detect changes in electrostatic potential. These findings signify useful efficacy of immunobiosensors for the detection of chlorpyrifos and other organophosphates in fruits and vegetables.

An efficient fluorescence resonance energy transfer system from quantum dots to graphene oxide nano sheets: Application in a photoluminescence aptasensing probe for the sensitive detection of diazinon. Food Chem 2018; 280:115-122. Abstract
In this paper a new aptasensor with high-sensitivity, and high-specificity for detection of diazinon, was discovered, based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) between quantum dot (QD) as a donor and graphene oxide (GO) as an acceptor. l-cysteine capped CdS QDs/DF20 aptamer bioconjugates were successfully synthesized. GO was also attached to aptamers and photoluminescence quenching was obtained through FRET. By adding target diazinon to the bioconjugates containing GO, photoluminescence recovery was detected due to detachment of GO from the aptamer as a result of the difference in affinity for the aptamer. The detection limit of the biosensor was 0.13 nM and the linearity was maintained from 1.05 to 206 nM. Other pesticides and herbicides did not contribute to photoluminescence recovery due to lack of binding affinity for the aptamers, which demonstrates the selectivity of the biosensor. The results show the applicability of the aptasensor for monitoring diazinon in environmental and agricultural samples.

Abstract
A highly selective and sensitive aptasensor is described for voltammetric determination of the pesticide chlorpyrifos (CPS). The sensor was constructed by modifying a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with gold nanorods and a polymer that was molecularly imprinted with an aptamer against CPS. This results in double specific recognition. Under optimal conditions and a working potential as low as 0.22 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), the nanotools has a dynamic range that covers the 1.0 fM - 0.4 pM CPS concentration range, and the detection limit is 0.35 fM. This is lower than any of the previously reported methods. This MIP-aptasensor is selective over structural analogs, stable, and adequately reproducible. It was successfully applied to the determination of CPS in spiked food samples. Graphical abstract Impedimetric detection of Chlorpyrifos by using a Fe(CN)63-/4- probe based on double recognition of aptamer-molecular imprinted polymer onto a glassy carbon electrode modified with gold nanorod nanocomposite. The incubation with Chlorpyrifos lead to an increase of electron transfer resistance.

Abstract
There is a growing need to monitor anthropogenic organic contaminants detected in water sources. DNA aptamers are synthetic single-stranded oligonucleotides, selected to bind to target contaminants with favorable selectivity and sensitivity. These aptamers can be functionalized and are used with a variety of sensing platforms to develop sensors, or aptasensors. In this critical review, we (1) identify the state-of-the-art in DNA aptamer selection, (2) evaluate target and aptamer properties that make for sensitive and selective binding and sensing, (3) determine strengths and weaknesses of alternative sensing platforms, and (4) assess the potential for aptasensors to quantify environmentally relevant concentrations of organic contaminants in water. Among a suite of target and aptamer properties, binding affinity is either directly (e.g., organic carbon partition coefficient) or inversely (e.g., polar surface area) correlated to properties that indicate greater target hydrophobicity results in the strongest binding aptamers, and binding affinity is correlated to aptasensor limits of detection. Electrochemical-based aptasensors show the greatest sensitivity, which is similar to ELISA-based methods. Only a handful of aptasensors can detect organic pollutants at environmentally relevant concentrations, and interference from structurally similar analogs commonly present in natural waters is a yet-to-be overcome challenge. These findings lead to recommendations to improve aptasensor performance.

Aptasensor based on fluorophore-quencher nano-pair and smartphone spectrum reader for on-site quantification of multi-pesticides. Biosens Bioelectron 2018; 117:75-83. Abstract
Current techniques for the detection of multi-pesticides are limited by technical complexity, sensitivity and cost. There is an urgent demand of developing new specific recognition elements and sensitive signal readouts for on-site monitoring. In this work, we developed a fluorescent aptamer-based lateral flow biosensor (apta-LFB) integrated with fluorophore-quencher nano-pairs and a smartphone spectrum reader to accomplish triple-target detection of chlorpyrifos, diazinon, and malathion. Aptamers serve as alternative recognition elements instead of antibodies in LFB, offering better specificity and stability. A novel fluorophore-quencher nano-pair (quantum dots nanobeads and gold nanostars) was implemented to perform "signal-on" instead of "signal-off". After optimization, detection limit of chlorpyrifos, diazinon, and malathion were determined to be 0.73 ng/mL, 6.7 ng/mL, and 0.74 ng/mL, respectively. Greatly increased sensitivity may come from the combination of improved signal and zero background. This innovative cascade strategy allowed to lower the detection limit of pesticides residue level in food, which is largely considered satisfactory. The accuracy and practicality of this design for effective on-site quantification of multi-pesticides were further confirmed using 12 vegetable and fruit samples. The estimated recoveries were between 82.4% and 112.8% in spiked vegetable samples, which indicated that the developed method is capable for detecting multi-pesticides in food samples. This sensitive handheld-system is promising to become a powerful tool for practical on-site application of multi-pesticide quantification procedures.

Abstract
Food and environmental monitoring is one of the most important aspects of dealing with recent threats to human well-being and ecosystems. In this framework, electrochemical aptamer-based sensors are resilient due to their ability to resolve food and environmental contamination. An aptamer-based sensor is a compact analytical device combining an aptamer as the bio-sensing element integrated on the transducer surface. Aptamers display many advantages as biorecognition elements in sensor development when compared to affinity-based (antibodies) sensors. Aptasensors are small, chemically unchanging, and inexpensive. Moreover, they offer extraordinary elasticity and expediency in the design of their assemblies, which has led to innovative sensors that show tremendous sensitivity and selectivity. This review will emphasize recent food and environmental safeguarding using aptasensors; there are good prospects for their performance as a supplement to classical techniques.

Abstract
Chlorpyrifos (chl) is an organophosphate pesticide extensively used in agriculture and highly toxic for human health. Fluorine doped tin-oxide (FTO) based electrochemical nanosensor was developed for chlorpyrifos detection with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and anti-chlorpyrifos antibodies (chl-Ab). AuNPs provides high electrical conductivity and specific resistivity, thus increases the sensitivity of immunoassay. High electrical conductivity of AuNPs reveals that it promotes the redox reaction for better cyclic voltammetry. Based on the intrinsic conductive properties of FTO-AuNPs complex, chl-Ab was immobilized onto AuNPs surface. Under optimized conditions, the proposed FTO based nanosensor exhibited high sensitivity and stable response for the detection of chlorpyrifos, ranging from 1fM to 1µM with limit of detection (LOD) up to 10fM. The FTO-AuNPs sensor was successfully employed for the detection of chlorpyrifos in standard as well in real samples up to 10nM for apple and cabbage, 50nM for pomegranate. The proposed FTO-AuNPs nanosensor can be used as a quantitative tool for rapid, on-site detection of chlorpyrifos traces in real samples when miniaturized due to its excellent stability, sensitivity, and simplicity.

Abstract
A sensitive and efficient ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor was designed for tetracycline (TET) detection in milk. The ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor was constructed by integrating two aptasensors termed as aptasensor 1 and aptasensor 2. The aptasensor 1 was fabricated that based on ferrocene (Fc) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) nanocomposite. Meanwhile, the aptasensor 2 was prepared that based on carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and AuNPs nanocomposite. TET-aptamer was immobilized effectively onto screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) surface through forming Au-S bond between AuNPs and thiol of aptamer at 5′ end to construct the aptasensor 1 and aptasensor 2. And their detection results were calculated by ratio. Thus, the proposed ratiometric aptasensor solved the problem of low accuracy and large differences between batches. Under the optimized conditions, the TET was detected by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Taken advantage of ratio calculation, the as-prepared ratiometric aptasensor could detect TET quantitatively in the range of 10−8–10−3gL−1, with a detection limit of 3.3 × 10−7gL−1. Moreover, its applicability to TET-contaminated real samples (milk) showed an excellent agreement with the values determined by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-MS/MS). With high sensitivity, accuracy and reliability, the developed ratiometric aptasensor held a great potential in TET detection for food safety.

Abstract
Chlorpyrifos is a commonly used organophosphorus pesticide in agriculture. However, its neurotoxicity poses a huge threat to human health. To detect trace amounts of chlorpyrifos, we herein developed a regenerative electrochemical aptasensor for the sensitive detection of chlorpyrifos. The nanocomposite consisting of copper oxide nanoflowers (CuO NFs) and carboxyl-functionalized single walled carbon nanotubes (c-SWCNTs) was prepared to improve the sensing performance for chlorpyrifos detection. Various characterization methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and cyclic voltammetry (CV) were used to demonstrate the successful fabrication of biosensor. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was utilized to optimize test conditions and quantify chlorpyrifos. Under optimal conditions, the biosensor obtained a good linearity for chlorpyrifos ranging from 0.1 to 150ng/mL, with a lower detection limit of 70pg/mL. This aptasensor also exhibited high selectivity and outstanding repeatability, and was successfully applied to the determination of chlorpyrifos in spiked apple and celery cabbage with satisfactory recoveries. Furthermore, the sensor can be easily regenerated by urea for continuous application. With all the features, the proposed strategy provides an excellent platform for regenerative and selective detection of chlorpyrifos.

Abstract
In this study an impedance aptasensor was designed for sensitive, selective, and fast detection of tetracycline (TET) based on an interdigital array microelectrode (IDAM). The IDAM was integrated with impedance detection to miniaturize the conventional electrodes, enhance the sensitivity, shorten the detection time, and minimize interfering effects of non-target analytes in the solution. Due to their excellent conductivity, good biocompatibility, the multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were used to modify the IDAM to immobilize TET aptamer effectively. The proposed aptasensor produced a sensitive impedance change which was characterized by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). With the addition of TET, the formation of TET-aptamer complex on the surface of MWCNTs modified electrode resulted in an increase of electron transfer resistance (R et). The change of R et depends on the concentration of TET, which is applied for the quantification of TET. A wide linear range was obtained from 10-9 to 10-3 M. The linear regression equation was y(ΔR) = 21.310 × x(LogC) (M) + 217.25. It was successfully applied to detect TET in real milk samples.
