Abstract
Organic-molecule-stabilized ultrafine bismuth phosphate was synthesized by applying a wet chemical complexation-mediated route. Structural analysis confirmed the formation of monoclinic-phase nanoparticles made up of four-coordinated PO4 tetrahedral and eight-coordinated BiO8 polyhedral units. The dielectric, electrical conductivity, and impedance behaviour of the synthesized material was investigated under a wide range of frequency and temperature conditions. An alternating current conductivity study confirmed that the conduction process was followed by small and large polaron tunnelling mechanisms. An electric field-induced polarization study showed the formation of a hysteresis loop, generated as a result of the strong dipolar interactions through the Biδ+-Oδ--type covalent bonds.

Abstract
Exploring an efficient and photostable heterostructured photocatalyst is a pivotal scientific topic for worldwide energy and environmental concerns. Herein, we reported that Pt decorated g-C3N4/Bi2MoO6 heterostructured composites with enhanced photocatalytic performance under visible light were simply synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method for methylene blue (MB) dye degradation. Results revealed that the synthetic Pt decorated g-C3N4/Bi2MoO6 composites with Bi2MoO6 contents of 20 wt.% (Pt@CN/20%BMO) presented the highest photocatalytic activity, exhibiting 7 and 18 times higher reactivity than the pure g-C3N4 and Bi2MoO6, respectively. Structural analyses showed that Bi2MoO6 microplates were anchored on the wrinkled flower-like g-C3N4 matrix with Pt decoration, leading to a large expansion of specific surface area from 10.79 m2/g for pure Bi2MoO6 to 46.09 m2/g for Pt@CN/20%BMO. In addition, the Pt@CN/20%BMO composites exhibited an improved absorption ability in the visible light region, presenting a promoted photocatalytic MB degradation. Quenching experiments were also conducted to provide solid evidences for the production of hydroxyl radicals (•OH), electrons (e−), holes (h+) and superoxide radicals (•O2−) during dye degradation. The findings in this critical work provide insights into the synthesis of heterostructured photocatalysts with the optimization of band gaps, light response and photocatalytic performance in wastewater remediation.

Abstract
Although photocatalytic degradation is an ideal strategy for cleaning environmental pollution, it remains challenging to construct a highly efficient photocatalytic system by steering the charge flow in a precise manner. In this work, a novel, highly efficient, stable, and visible light active hybrid photocatalytic system consisting of FeWO4 and g-C3N4 nanosheets (CNNs) has been successfully prepared by an in situ self-assembly solvothermal approach. Several characterization techniques were employed to study the phase structures, morphologies, optical properties, surface composition and chemical state of the as-prepared samples. SEM and TEM results demonstrated that the FeWO4 nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed on the surface of CNNs with a diameter of about 10-20 nm, which could provide maximum interfacial contact and a synergistic coupling effect between FeWO4 and CNNs. XPS and FTIR results confirmed that there was strong electrostatic interaction between FeWO4 and CNNs, suggesting the formation of heterojunctions between them. In addition, UV-DRS and PL spectroscopy revealed that the FeWO4/CNN composites exhibited increased visible light absorption and improved charge generation/separation efficiency. As a result, the photocatalytic activity of the FeWO4/CNNs was enhanced in comparison with pure FeWO4 and CNNs for rhodamine B (RhB) and tetracycline (TC) degradation under natural sunlight irradiation. The photocatalytic efficiency of the optimal FeWO4/CNN composite (10 wt% FeWO4/CNNs) for the degradation of RhB (TC) was about 13.26 (4.95) and 86.2 (31.1) times higher than that of pure FeWO4 and CNNs, respectively. Meanwhile, the 10 wt% FeWO4/CNN sample exhibits good photocatalytic stability in recycling experiments. The enhanced photocatalytic activity may be attributed to the formation of the Z-scheme system between FeWO4 and CNNs, effectively prolonging the lifetime of the photoexcited electrons generated by CNNs and the photoexcited holes generated by FeWO4, which was subsequently confirmed by the active species trapping experiments and the calculation of relative band alignments. This work opens up a new feasible avenue to synthesize visible light active Z-scheme photocatalysts for application in energy production and environmental remediation.

Abstract
A novel BiPO4 photocatalyst has been fabricated via a facile precipitation route using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a solvent. The physical and chemical properties of the BiPO4 photocatalyst material were analyzed using XRD, Rietveld refinements XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, HR-TEM, EDS, XPS, FT-IR, Raman spectra, UV-Vis (DRS), and PL. The results confirm that hexagonal phase BiPO4 (HBIP) nanorods were successfully synthesized. FE-SEM images reveal that the addition of surfactant “CTAB” during preparation can control the surface morphology of BiPO4. The Rietveld refinement technique revealed the formation of a monazite monoclinic (nMBIP) and monoclinic (mMBIP) phase junction resulting from the calcination of HBIP at 500 °C. The photocatalytic behavior of the as-synthesized hexagonal and monoclinic BiPO4 nanostructures towards aniline blue (AB) degradation under UV light was systematically investigated. Among all catalysts, the phase junction (nMBIP–mMBIP) structure demonstrated the highest photocatalytic activity. The degradation rate of AB over the (nMBIP–mMBIP) phase junction structure was 3.4 times higher than that by HBIP. These results suggested that the surface-phase junction provides a synergistic effect for the electron–hole transfer process. A novel BiPO4 photocatalyst has been fabricated via a facile precipitation route using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a solvent.![]()

Abstract
A novel Z-scheme coated composite, Er3+:Y3Al5O12@Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4-Au-BiVO4, was designed for sonocatalytic degradation of sulfanilamide and fabricated by sol-hydrothermal and calcination methods. The prepared sample was characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra (DRS), fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, Raman spectra and photoluminescence (PL) spectra. In Er3+:Y3Al5O12@Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4-Au-BiVO4, Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4 and BiVO4 form a Z-scheme sonocatalytic system, Er3+:Y3Al5O12 as an up-conversion luminescence agent (from visible-light to ultraviolet-light) provides the ultraviolet-light for satisfying the energy demand of wide band-gap Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4 and Au nanoparticles as co-catalyst forms more active sites to enrich electrons. Also, Au nanoparticles as conductive channels promotes the electrons (e-) from conduction band of BiVO4 to transfer to valence band of Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4. Due to the characteristics of valence state diversity, the Fe3+ and V5+ constitute a redox reaction recombination system, which can also push electrons (e-) on conduction band of BiVO4 to quickly transfer to valence band of Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4. The sonocatalytic activity of Er3+:Y3Al5O12@Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4-Au-BiVO4 nanocomposite was detected through degradation of sulfanilamide under ultrasonic irradiation. A high sonocatalytic degradation ratio (95.64%) of sulfanilamide can be obtained when the conditions of 10.00 mg/L sulfanilamide, 1.00 g/L Er3+:Y3Al5O12@Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4-Au-BiVO4, 300 min ultrasonic irradiation and 100 mL total volume were adopted. Some factors such as ultrasonic irradiation time and cycle number on the sonocatalytic degradation efficiency are also investigated by using TOC and UV-vis spectroscopy. Subsequently, the effects of hydroxyl radicals (OH) and hole scavengers were investigated to elaborate the mechanism. The researches show that the prepared Z-scheme Er3+:Y3Al5O12@Ni(Fe0.05Ga0.95)2O4-Au-BiVO4 coated composite displayed an excellent sonocatalytic activity in degradation of sulfanilamide under ultrasonic irradiation.
