Abstract
An efficient selective monoethynylation of 2-oxoacetamides using calcium carbide as a concise solid alkyne source is described. A series of multifunctional compounds, 2-hydroxybut-3-ynamides, are synthesized by this strategy. The salient features of this protocol are the use of inexpensive and easy-to-handle solid alkyne source as a surrogate of inflammable and explosive gaseous acetylene, transition-metal-free and mild condition, wide scope of substrates, high selectivity, high yield, and simple work-up procedure.

Abstract
:
Selectfluor acts as a safe and efficient reagent for the oxidation of urazoles, alcohols and also sulfides via releasing the electrophile F under the solvent-free conditions. In room temperature, this reagent cannot oxidize the substrates alone and requires KBr as the catalyst. In the proposed mechanism, Selectfluor converts the Br-
to the Br-F and the
lone-pair electron of substrates attack to Br-F to perform the oxidation reaction. This procedure offers some advantages;
for example short reaction time, simple work-up, good yield and matching with some green chemistry approaches.

Abstract
A simple and practical protocol for the synthesis of 3-selanyl-benzo[b]furans mediated by the SelectFluor® reagent was developed. This novel methodology provided a greener alternative to generate 3-substituted-benzo[b]furans via a metal-free procedure under mild conditions. The intramolecular cyclization reaction was carried out employing an electrophilic selenium species generated in situ through the reaction between SelectFluor® and organic diselenides. The formation of this electrophilic selenium species (RSe-F) was confirmed by heteronuclear NMR spectroscopy, and its reactivity was explored.

Abstract
A practical synthesis of α-fluorinated imides via the catalyst-free fluorohydroxylation of ynamides is developed. The reaction employs commercially available Selectfluor (F-TEDA-BF4) and H2O as the fluorine and hydroxyl sources, respectively. A broad range of aryl- or alkyl-substituted ynamides were well applicable to the reaction with good functional group tolerance under simple and mild reaction conditions. The synthetic utility of the α-fluoroimide products was demonstrated by several value-added transformations. Preliminary mechanistic studies were conducted.

Abstract
A practical and straightforward synthetic route through a fluorination-triggered tandem cyclization of styrene-type carboxylic acids was developed to construct a variety of 4-fluoro-3-aryl-3,4-dihydroisocoumarins and 3-arylisocoumarins under microwave irradiation. This novel protocol features mild reaction conditions and operational simplicity, with good yields.
