Abstract
Two types of new lanthanide coordination networks, [Ln3(pdc)4(Hpdc)(H2O)3]·8H2O [H2pdc = pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid; Ln = Ce (1), Pr (2), Sm (3), Eu (4); type A) and [Tb5(pdc)4(Hpdc)]·3H2O (type B), have been synthesized using a hydrothermal synthetic method. The former type A compound has an unfamiliar architecture, even basically comprised of primitive cubic (pcu) topology, and demonstrate porous gas adsorption behavior, giving several hundreds of square meters per gram surface areas after evacuation of the water molecules, while the latter type B compound does not show any porous properties. Most interestingly, the solvothermal synthetic method using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent gives compounds that crystallize in a structure analogous to that of type A for Ln = La-Ho, probably formulated as [Ln3(pdc)4(Hpdc)·(DMF)m]·nDMF. These compounds also exhibit large surface areas after evacuation of the DMF molecules and also moderate amounts of hydrogen gas uptake at 77 K. The luminescence properties were investigated for Eu and Tb analogues at elevated temperatures, at which an unusual increase in the emission intensity was observed upon the release of solvents, and discussed based on their porous structure.

Abstract
A copper(II) metal-organic framework {[Cu(ttpa)(pim)]·H2O}n (1) was synthesized and characterized by EA, IR, X-ray powder diffraction, optical band gaps, VB XPS spectra and luminescence (ttpa = tris(4-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenyl)amine, pim = pimelate). 1 exhibits the 3D pcu topology containing the [Cu2(COO)4] dimer building block. Eg, Ev and Ec of 1 were 2.37, 1.64 and -0.73 eV, respectively. MOF 1 exhibits a highly photocatalytic efficiency for the degradation of methylene blue and rhodamine B by visible light irradiation. The photocatalyst 1 is very stable after photocatalytic experiment and can be reused for at least five times. The photocatalytic mechanism was detailedly assumed and confirmed by the photocatalytic reaction in the presence of the hydroxyl radical scavenger mannitol and trapping agent 1,4-benzenedicarbolic acid.

Abstract
A self-assembly of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate with Cu(II) and Mn(II) under ultrasonic and microwave irradiation gave the two coordination polymers [Cu(PDA)(H2O)1.5]n (1) and [Mn(PDA)(H2O)1.5]n (2). Their structures were characterized using IR, elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and spectroscopic methods. The corresponding α-Mn3O4 and CuO nanoparticles were synthesized by calcination of 1 and 2 in air at 600 °C. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals a sphere-like morphology for the Mn3O4 nanoparticles. Shrinkage of the particle size from 90 nm (by conventional synthesis of the precursor) to 19 nm (ultrasonic-assisted) takes place, indicating the great effect of ultrasonication. CuO nanoparticles were of semispherical (conventional and ultrasonic-assisted methods) and hexagonal shapes (microwave irradiation) with an average diameter of 7, 15 and 25 nm, respectively. The catalytic performance of the coordination polymers towards degradation of methylene blue and methyl orange in the presence of hydrogen peroxide was studied. Using the same dose, catalyst 1 proved to be more efficient in color removal of both MB and MO than catalyst 2 did. Recycling test for 2 showed that it is a recyclable catalyst with no structural changes over three recycling experiments.

Abstract
Five structural diversity nickel(ii) complexes based on 5-(4′-carboxylphenyl) nicotinic acid and linear co-ligands are described. The antiferromagnetic interactions exist in them expect for 2. All of them could accelerate the degradation rate of MO under visible light irradiation.

Abstract
Reaction of NiCl₂∙6H₂O, d-camphoric acid (d-H₂cam), and N,N'-bis(pyraz-2-yl)piperazine (bpzpip) in pure water at 150 °C afforded a novel nickel(II) coordination layer, [Ni₄(d-cam)₂(d-Hcam)₄(bpzpip)₄(H₂O)₂] (1), under hydro(solvo)thermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray structure analysis reveals that 1 adopts a six-connected two-dimensional (2D) chiral layer structure with 3⁶-hxl topology. Dye adsorption explorations indicate that 1 readily adsorbs methyl blue (MyB) from water without destruction of crystallinity. On the contrary, methyl orange (MO) is not adsorbed at all. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model could be used to interpret the adsorption kinetics for MyB. Equilibrium isotherm studies suggest complicated adsorption processes for MyB which do not have good applicability for either the two-parameter Langmuir or Freundlich isotherm model. The saturated adsorption capacity of 1 for MyB calculated by Langmuir is 185.5 mg·g-1 at room temperature.
