Abstract
A novel strategy for the catalytic synthesis of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazoles bearing a wide range of functional groups in good to excellent yields by non-noble molybdenum-catalyzed deoxygenative heterocyclization of 2-nitroazobenzenes is described. The salient features of the transformation include the use of readily available substrates, valuable products and ease of scale-up. The mechanistic study indicates that the reaction occurred via double deoxygenation by the Mo(VI)/Mo(IV) catalytic cycle from 2-nitroazobenzene, through the formation of 2-aryl-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole-N1-oxide or nitrene intermediates.

Abstract
C-H functionalization via functional group metathesis is extremely rare. A protocol of remote site-selective C-H iodination of 2-aryl benzoic acid derivatives via formal C(sp2)-H/C(sp2)-I metathesis using readily available 1-iodo-4-methoxy-2-nitrobenzene as the mild iodinating reagent was reported herein. A range of 2-aryl benzoic acid derivatives including 2-(naphthalen-1-yl)benzoic acids and [1,1'-binaphthalene]-2-carboxylic acids were iodinated under mild conditions to give valuable iodinated products in a site- and chemo-selective fashion.

Abstract
Electrosynthesis of 2H‐2‐(aryl)benzo[d]‐1,2,3‐triazoles and their N‐oxides from 2‐nitroazobenzene derivatives is reported. The electrolysis is conducted in a very simple undivided cell under constant current conditions with a leaded bronze cathode and a glassy carbon anode. The product distribution between 2H‐2‐(aryl)benzo[d]‐1,2,3‐triazoles and their N‐oxides can be guided by simply controlling the current density and the amount of the charge applied. The reaction tolerates several sensitive functional groups in reductive electrochemistry. The usefulness and the applicability of the synthetic method is demonstrated by a formal synthesis of an antiviral compound.

Abstract
The synthesis of a series of 2,2′-bis(trimethyltetrel) azobenzenes is reported, evaluating the different synthetic approaches that different group 14 element substituents individually require. The synthetic access to the carbon substituted congener is very different from the heavier tetrels, in that the key step is the formation of the N=N bond in azobenzene, rather than the azobenzene-C bond. Sn could be introduced with a cross-coupling route, whereas the Si and Ge congeners were prepared by a stannylation-lithiation-electrophilic quenching sequence. Iodo-lithium exchange was also a possible route to obtain the dilithiated species, which can be attributed to the chelating effect of the nitrogen atoms. However, the organo-lead species could not be obtained via these routes. The resulting structures were fully characterized (NMR, FTIR, HRMS and XRD). Furthermore, their thermal properties (TGA and DSC) and their photoswitching behavior in solution (UV-VIS & NMR experiments) were investigated and compared for the different tetrels (C, Si, Ge, Sn).
