Abstract
An efficient method for the preparation of six-membered cyclic dithiocarbamates is described, in which triethylamine effectively promotes the reaction of 1-amino-3-chloropropan-2-ol derivatives with carbon disulfide. On the basis of the experimental and theoretical studies, a reaction mechanism is proposed to explain the difference between the present reaction and our previously reported carbon dioxide fixation.

Abstract
Azlactones and thiazoles are common structural motifs and possess diverse applications. A new method for the efficient and straightforward syntheses of 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles from azlactones has been developed. The reaction proceeded via deoxygenation of azlactones by Lawesson's reagent without metal or external additives. A variety of 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles were synthesized with up to 92% yield. Furthermore, the importance of this methodology was also justified by a gram-scale synthesis.

Abstract
A facile access to benzo[d]thiazole-2(3H)-thiones and benzo[d]thiazol-2(3H)-ones has been developed through a temperature-controlled intermolecular [3 + 2] annulation of N,N-disubstituted arylhydrazines with CS2 in the presence of DMSO. This protocol can obviate the prefunctionalization of the starting materials. This direct C-S/C-N bond formation reaction was performed in the absence of any external catalysts, transition metals, bases, ligands, and oxidants with high step economy.

Abstract
Environmentally friendly ynamide-mediated thioamidation of monothiocarboxylic acids with amines or ammonium hydroxide for the syntheses of thioamides and primary thioamides is described. Simple and mild reaction conditions enable the reaction to tolerate a wide variety of functional groups such as hydroxyl group, ester, tertiary amine, ketone, and amide moieties. Readily available NaSH served as the sulfur source, avoiding the use of toxic, expensive, and malodorous organic sulfur reagents and making this strategy environmentally friendly and practical. Importantly, the stereochemical integrity of α-chiral monothiocarboxylic acids was maintained during the activation step and subsequent aminolysis process, thus offering a racemization-free strategy for peptide C-terminal modification. Furthermore, a number of thioamide-modified drugs were prepared in good yields by using this protocol and the synthesized primary thioamides were transformed into backbone thiazolyl modified peptides.

Abstract
A sulfur-involved ligation for thioamide quasi-peptides was developed via amino acids and amino aldehydes coupling. The key to the transformation was the chelation of copper with imines for chiral activation and fixation. In this environment, linear polysulfur decreased the alkalinity of single sulfur anions to prevent racemization caused by the interaction between sulfur and sodium sulfide. Dipeptides, tripeptides, tetrapeptides, and the linkage between the drug and amino acids were successfully obtained.

Abstract
The synthesis of two kinds of five-membered organosulfur heterocycles (i.e., 1,4,2-oxathiazoles and 1,3,4-thiadiazoles) from α-enolic dithioesters with active 1,3-dipoles (nitrile oxides and nitrilimines) generated in situ was achieved under mild reaction conditions. This transformation further expands the synthetic application of α-enolic dithioesters as the sulfur-containing building blocks.

Abstract
Sulfur-containing compounds are present in a wide range of biologically important natural products, drugs, catalysts, and ligands and they have wide applications in material chemistry. Transition metal-catalyzed C-S bond-forming reactions have successfully overcome the obstacles associated with traditional organosulfur compound syntheses such as stoichiometric use of metal-catalysts, catalyst-poisoning and harsh reaction conditions. One of the key demands in metal-catalyzed C-S bond-forming reactions is the use of an appropriate sulfur source due to its odor and availability. The unpleasant odor of many organic sulfur sources might be one of the reasons for the metal-catalyzed C-S bond-forming reactions being less explored compared to other metal-catalyzed C-heteroatom bond-forming reactions. Hence, employing an appropriate sulfur surrogate in the synthesis of organosulfur compounds in metal-catalyzed reactions is still of prime interest for chemists. This review explores the recent advances in C-S bond formation using transition metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions and C-H bond functionalization using diverse and commercially available sulfur surrogates. Based on the different transition metal-catalysts, this review has been divided into three major classes namely (1) palladium-catalyzed C-S bond formation, (2) copper-catalyzed C-S bond formation, and (3) other metal-catalyzed C-S bond formation. This review is further arranged based on the different sulfur surrogates. Also, this review provides an insight into the growing opportunities in the construction of complex organosulfur scaffolds covering natural product synthesis and functional materials.

Abstract
An efficient approach to obtain functionalized rhodanines was developed through a base-assisted one-pot coupling and continuous cyclization of a primary amine, carbon disulfide, and methyl (2-chloroacetyl)carbamate. This conversion tolerates a broad range of functional groups and can be used to scale the preparation of N-substituted rhodanines in excellent yields.

Abstract
A highly regioselective thiocyanatothiolation of alkynes and alkenes assisted by hydrogen bonding under simple and mild conditions is developed. Our thiocyanatothiolation reagents are readily available ammonium thiocyanate and N-thiosuccinimides. This metal-free system offers good chemical yields for a wide range of alkyne and alkene substrates with good functional group tolerance. A highly regioselective thiocyanatothiolation of alkynes assisted by hydrogen bonding under simple and mild conditions is developed.![]()

Abstract
An efficient and practical thiocarbonyl surrogate via combination of potassium sulfide and chloroform was established. A variety of dithiocarbamates were afforded along with four new chemical bond formations in a one-pot reaction in which the thiocarbonyl motif was generated in situ. Furthermore, these readily accessed molecules showed promising activity against HDAC8, opening a potential gateway to discover a new type of nonhydroxamate and isoenzyme-selective HDAC inhibitors.

Abstract
We propose and demonstrate the novel concept of synthesizing organophosphorus compounds directly from black phosphorus (BP) nanoparticles as the feedstock. Compounds such as alkyl phosphines, alkyl phosphine oxides, phosphine sulfide, and hexafluorophosphate anion are prepared with good isolation yields under mild conditions. Selective synthesis of primary, secondary, and tertiary organophosphorus compounds is also demonstrated utilizing this one-pot approach. Reaction mechanisms are proposed and discussed. Compared with traditional white phosphorus (P4)-based methods, the new synthetic concept and process utilizing elemental phosphorus are more efficient and environmentally friendly.
