Abstract
Thioethers are critical in the fields of pharmaceuticals and organic synthesis, but most of the methods for synthesis alkyl thioethers employ foul-smelling thiols as starting materials or generate them as by-products. Additionally, most thiols are air-sensitive and are easily oxidized to produce disulfides under atmospheric conditions; thus, a novel method for synthesizing thioethers is necessary. This paper reports a simple, effective, green method for synthesizing dialkyl or alkyl aryl thioether derivatives using odorless, stable, low-cost ROCS2K as a thiol surrogate. This transformation offers a broad substrate scope and good functional group tolerance with excellent selectivity. The reaction likely proceeds via xanthate intermediates, which can be readily generated via the nucleophilic substitution of alkyl halides or aryl halides with ROCS2K under transition-metal-free and base-free conditions.

Abstract
Owing to their unique structural features, isothiocyanates (ITCs) are a class of highly useful and inimitable reagents as the -NCS group serves both as electrophile and nucleophile in organic synthesis. ITCs share a rich legacy in organic, medicinal, and combinatorial chemistry. Compared to their oxygen equivalents, isocyanates, ITCs are easily available, less unpleasant, and somewhat less harmful to work with (mild conditions) which makes them happy-go-lucky reagents. Functionalized ITCs can finely tune the reactivity of the -NCS group and thus can be exploited in the late-stage functionalization processes. This review's primary aim is to outline ITC chemistry in the construction and derivatization of heterocycles through the lens of sustainability. For ease and brevity, the sections are divided based on reactive centers present in functionalized ITCs and modes of cyclisation. Scrutinizing their probable unexplored directions for future research studies is also addressed.

Abstract
In this study, an effective approach was developed to synthesize a novel, multifunctional ionic liquid nanocatalyst based on zeolite-Y with 4-methylpyridinium chloride (4-MePy-Cl) and calcium ions (Ca/4-MePy-IL@ZY). Then, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were produced inside the zeolite pores with the use of ultrasonic waves. XRD, FESEM, FT-IR, EDX-Map, TGA-DTA, VSM, BET, and atomic absorption techniques were used to identify the structure of the magnetic nanocomposite. Then, its catalytic activity in the one-pot synthesis of 2-aminothiazoles using trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA) as a green supplier of halogen ions for intermediates was studied. To provide ideal conditions for the preparation of pure products, first, the one-pot reaction of acetophenone and thiourea in various solvents, different temperatures, and the presence of different amounts of nanocatalysts and the molar amount of TCCA was used. Next, the reaction was investigated in the one-pot preparation of 2-aminothiazole derivatives under optimal conditions. This method replaces iodine (I2), a toxic reagent, for the first time with TCCA, a safe and sustainable source of halogen. The use of non-toxic solvent and a cheap, safe, recyclable nanocatalyst, quick reaction times, high efficiency, and ease of nanocatalyst separation with the aid of a magnet are additional benefits of this method. This has led to this procedure being classified as "green chemistry".

Abstract
A mild, practical, metal and oxidant-free methodology for the synthesis of various C-3 selenylated benzo[b]furan derivatives was developed through the intramolecular cyclization of alkynes promoted with diselenides via electrooxidation. A wide range of selenium-substituted benzo[b]furan derivatives were obtained in good to excellent yields with high regioselectivity under constant current in an undivided cell equipped with carbon and platinum plates as the anode and cathode, respectively. Moreover, the convergent approach exhibited good functional group tolerance and could be easily scaled up with good efficiency, providing rapid access to a diverse range of selenylated benzo[b]furans derivatives from simple, readily available starting materials.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed bisannulation reaction of malonate-tethered O-acyl oximes with pyridine, pyrazine, pyridazine, and quinoline derivatives has been developed for the concise synthesis of structurally novel dihydroindolizine-fused pyrrolidinones and their analogues. The present reaction shows excellent regioselectivity and stereoselectivity. Theoretical calculations reveal that the coordination effect of the carbonyl group in the nucleophilic substrate determines the excellent regioselectivity. Further functionalization of the generated dihydroindolizine-fused pyrrolidinone could be easily realized through substitution, Michael addition, selective aminolysis, and hydrolysis reactions.

A NH4I/K3PO4-based catalytic system has been established to enable oxidative formation of thiazole compounds from arylacetic acids and phenylalanines with elemental sulfur. While the three-component reaction of anilines or β-naphthylamines with arylacetic acids and elemental sulfur affords benzo[2,1-d]thiazoles and naphtho[2,1-d]thiazoles, the annulation of phenylalanines with elemental sulfur produces 2-benzyl and 2-benzoylthiazoles. This work well complements previous three-component annulations of benzothiazoles from other coupling partners.

Abstract
The synthesis of sulfur heterocycles via the construction of C–S bonds has received considerable attention due to their biological value and extensive pharmaceutical application. While diverse sulfurating agents have been developed over the past few decades, in this regard, elemental sulfur, with advantages of low toxicity, odorless nature and chemical stability, has great potential for the construction of diverse sulfur heterocycles through its direct incorporation into the target molecules in a concise way. Direct functionalization of inert C–H bonds can shorten the number of reaction steps and minimize the amount of waste formed. Hence, heteroannulations via direct C–H sulfuration is considered to be an attractive strategy for the synthesis of sulfur heterocycles. In the last few years, a vast array of concise systems have been reported for the synthesis of some valuable sulfur heterocycles such as thiophenes, thienoindoles, thienothiazoles, thiazoles, benzothiazoles, and thiadiazoles through direct C–H sulfuration/annulations with elemental sulfur. These are discussed in detail in this review.1 Introduction2 Thiophenes3 Thienoindoles4 Thienothiazoles5 Other Fused Thiophenes6 Thiazoles7 Benzothiazoles8 Thiadiazoles9 Others10 Summary and Outlook

Abstract
Under catalyst- and additive-free conditions, a novel, convenient, environmentally friendly method was developed for the synthesis of 2-substituted benzothiazoles via the three-component one pot reaction from aromatic amines, aliphatic amines, and elemental sulfur. The reaction achieves double C-S and one C-N bond formations via cleavage of two C-N bonds and multiple C-H bonds. Furthermore, the mechanism research shows that DMSO acts as an oxidant in the cyclization reaction.

Abstract
A Brønsted acid-promoted sulfuration/annulation reaction for the one-pot synthesis of bis-substituted thiazoles from benzylamines, acetophenones, and sulfur powder has been developed. One C–N bond and multi C–S bonds were selectively formed in one pot. The choice of the Brønsted acid was the key to the high efficiency of this transformation under metal-free conditions. A Brønsted acid-promoted protocol for the synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted thiazoles from benzylamines, acetophenones, and sulfur powder under metal-free conditions is described.![]()

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed oxidative cyclization of oxime, arylthiol, and trifluoroacetic anhydride for the construction of trisubstituted oxazoles has been developed. This transformation combines N-O bond cleavage, C-H functionalization, and intramolecular annulation, providing a practical protocol for the introduction of a trifluoromethyl (-CF3) group at oxazole rings.
