Abstract
In contrast to the well-documented acylating reactivity, the alkylating reactivity of the alkoxycarbonyl group, as signified by its oxocarbenium-like resonance structure, remains almost unexplored. Herein, the first series of Co/Ni dinuclear metalloesters exhibiting the novel oxocarbenium-like alkoxycarbonyl groups were synthesized and characterized. In these deformed alkoxycarbonyl groups, the Ccarbonyl-Oalkoxyl bonds were contracted to 1.177(11)~1.191(9) Å with the elongations of the Ccarbonyl=Ocarbonyl bonds to 1.368(13)~1.441(9) Å. Meanwhile, the O-Calkyl bonds were also elongated to 1.522(11) ~1.607(15) Å, and were by far the longest O-Calkyl bonds reported for alkoxycarbonyl groups. As triggered by the long O-Calkyl distances, the alkylating reactivity of the oxocarbenium-like methoxycarbonyl group towards a series of C/N/O-nucleophiles via the rare BAL2 mechanism at ambient conditions was examined. Furthermore, the homo-etherifications of alcohols mediated by the Co/Ni dinuclear metalloesters were investigated. The yields followed the trend ethanol≫n-propanol≫n-butanol ≈n-pentanol, that closely related to the structure features of the alkoxycarbonyl groups in corresponding metalloesters: while the ethoxycarbonyl group showed the reactive oxocarbenium-like framework, the n-propoxycarbonyl group displayed the dioxocarbenium-like skeleton with a shorter O-Calkyl bond; In comparison, the classical frameworks with unactivated alkyl moieties were observed for n-butoxycarbonyl and n-pentoxycarbonyl groups.

Abstract
The palladium-catalyzed reaction of alkyl 2-vinylbenzoates with silyl-protected alkynyl bromides leads to the selective production of 3-alkynylated isochroman-1-ones. The use of an alkyl ester group as an effective oxygen nucleophile is crucial for the efficient 1,1-alkynyloxygenation of alkenes.

Abstract
The preliminary results on the development of a viable methodology for the further functionalization of 4-hydroxythiazole derivatives to afford target TRPM8 antagonists are reported. The combined Sonogashira coupling/annulation reactions of the ethyl 2-(3-fluorophenyl)-4-tifluoromethylsulfonyloxy-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate have been applied to the synthesis of analogues of the selective blocker of TRPM8 DFL23448. Among all the synthetised derivatives, the most promising compound resulted to be active as TRPM8 blocker (IC50 = 4.06 µM), showing an excellent metabolic stability and no cytotoxic effects. Finally, in silico characterisation of the derivatives showed no violation of the drug-likeness rules.

Abstract
A method involving silver-catalyzed aerobic oxidation/6-endo heterocyclization of ortho-alkynylbenzaldehydes to yield 3-substituted isocoumarins is described. The developed protocol allows convenient access to a range of synthetically useful 3-substituted isocoumarins and related fused heterocyclolactones in good to high yields, using silver tetrafluoroborate as the catalyst, and atmospheric oxygen as the terminal oxidant and the source of endocyclic oxygen. Mechanistic studies suggest the involvement of a free-radical pathway.

Abstract
The indium(III)-catalyzed cascade cycloisomerization reaction of 1,5-enynes with pendant aryl nucleophiles is reported. The reaction proceeds in cascade under mild reaction conditions, using InI3 (5 mol %) as a catalyst with a range of 1,5-enynes furnished with aryl groups (phenyl and phenol) at alkene (E and Z isomers) and with terminal and internal alkynes. Using 1-bromo-1,5-enynes, a one-pot sequential indium-catalyzed cycloisomerization and palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling with triorganoindium reagents were developed. The double cyclization is stereospecific and operates via a biomimetic cascade cation-olefin through 1,5-enyne cyclization (6-endo-dig) and subsequent C-C hydroarylation or C-O phenoxycyclization. Density functional theory (DFT) computational studies on 1,5-enynyl aryl ethers support a two-step mechanism where the first stereoselective 1,5-enyne cyclization produces a nonclassical carbocation intermediate that evolves to the tricyclic reaction product through a SEAr mechanism. Using this approach, a variety of tricyclic heterocycles such as benzo[b]chromenes, phenanthridines, xanthenes, and spiroheterocyclic compounds are efficiently synthesized with high atom economy.

Abstract
Fluorinated heterocycles have attracted much attention in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. Many strategies have already been developed to achieve the synthesis of fluorinated heterocycles. Formidable challenges remain, however, in the synthesis of fluorinated isocoumarin derivatives that are among the most alluring structural motifs. Herein, the indium-catalyzed C-F bond transformation of 2-(2,2-difluorovinyl) benzoates is reported, which are readily accessible compounds, to give a diverse array of fluorinated isocoumarins. The present reaction proceeds smoothly using inexpensive reagents: a catalytic amount of indium salt in the presence of zinc salt. A theoretical calculation of potential energy profiles showed that the reaction consists of oxymetalation with the elimination of alkyl halide and the β-fluorine elimination.

Abstract
A non-oxidant and metal-free strategy for synthesizing iso-coumarin by using a continuous electrochemical microreactor to initiate an oxidative cyclization reaction of o-(1-alkynyl) benzoate and radicals. This efficient and clean continuous electrosynthesis method not only avoids the complicated gas protection operation and production of by-products in the batch processes, but also help to overcome the difficulty that batch metal catalysis and electrocatalysis are difficult to scale up, and has the potential for pilot-scale experiment.

Abstract
A convergent method for the rapid preparation of substituted isocoumarins is reported. The transformation takes advantage of a spontaneous intramolecular cyclization that follows the Pd-catalyzed α-arylation of aldehydes with 2-halobenzoic esters. The reaction uses an air-stable, single-component palladium catalyst and provides access to 4-alkylated isocoumarins in one step from commercial starting materials. The applicability of the method using both cyclic and linear ketones as well as transformations of the isocoumarin core is also demonstrated.

Abstract
Transition-metal-catalyzed activation of inert C-H bonds and subsequent C-C bond formation have emerged as powerful synthetic tools for the synthesis of elaborate cyclic molecules. In this report, we introduce an efficient synthetic method of 3,4-unsubstituted isocoumarins adopting an electron-deficient CpERh complex as the catalyst. The use of vinylene carbonate as a vinylene transfer reagent enables the direct construction of isocoumarins from readily available benzoic acids, without any external oxidants as well as bases. The reaction mechanism is evaluated by computational analysis to find an unprecedented "rhodium shift" event within the catalytic cycle.

Abstract
The regioselective anti-carboindation of ynamides by using InBr3 and silylated nucleophiles was developed to synthesize (Z)-β-(carbonylamino)alkenylindiums. The X-ray crystallographic analysis of an alkenylindium suggested that the reaction proceeded in an anti-addition fashion. In contrast to reported syn-carbometalations of ynamides by using organometallics, a cooperation of InBr3 and silylated nucleophiles to ynamides achieved an anti-addition, which was supported by DFT calculations. The scope of substrates included various ynamides and silylated nucleophiles, such as silyl ketene acetals and silyl ketene imines. The transformation of synthesized alkenylindiums by iodination, radical coupling, and Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling successfully afforded trisubstituted enamines with high regio- and stereoselectivities.

Abstract
Organogallium and -indium compounds are useful reagents in organic synthesis because of their moderate stability, efficient reactivity and high chemoselectivity. Carbogallation and -indation of a carbon-carbon multiple bond achieves the simultaneous formation of carbon-carbon and carbon-metal bonds. Heterogallation and -indation construct carbon-heteroatom and carbon-metal bonds. Therefore, these reaction systems represent a significant synthetic method for organogalliums and -indiums. Many chemists have attempted to apply various types of unsaturated compounds such as alkynes, alkenes, and allenes to these reaction systems. This minireview provides an overview of carboindation and -gallation as well as heteroindation and -gallation.
