Abstract
Breast cancer poses the significance of early diagnosis and treatment. Here, we developed an innovative photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunosensor characterized by high-level dual photocurrent signals and exceptional sensitivity. The PEC sensor, denoted as MIL&Ag2S, was constructed by incorporating Ag2S into a metal-organic framework of MIL-101(Cr). This composite not only enhanced electron-hole separation and conductivity but also yielded robust and stable dual photocurrent signals. Through the implementation of signal switching, we achieved the combined detection of cancer antigen 15-3 (CA15-3) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) with outstanding stability, reproducibility, and specificity. The results revealed a linear range for CEA detection spanning 0.01-32 ng/mL, with a remarkably low detection limit of 0.0023 ng/mL. Similarly, for CA15-3 detection, the linear range extended from 0.1 to 320 U/mL, with a low detection limit of 0.014 U/mL. The proposed strategy introduces new avenues for the development of highly efficient, cost-effective, and user-friendly PEC sensors. Furthermore, it holds promising prospects for early clinical diagnosis, contributing to potential breakthroughs in medical detection and ultimately improving patient outcomes.

Abstract
Herein, a novel dual-channel electrochemical immunosensor was fabricated via vertical growth of AuPt-decorated boron-doped graphene (AuPt-BG) nanosheets as a signal amplification platform to detect cancer antigen 153 (CA153). Highly open, porous AuPt-BG films were synthesized using one-step electron-assisted hot-filament chemical vapor deposition. The Au-Pt alloy nanoparticles were dispersed on BG nanosheets to improve their biocompatibility, and antibodies (Ab) were directly bonded to the AuPt-BG electrode. The architectures enlarged the loading of CA153Ab and efficiently catalyzed the Fe(CN)63-/4- reaction, ultimately amplifying the signals. This novel strategy allows the simultaneous detection of CA153 in the oxidation and reduction channels, improving the reliability of the detection results. The AuPt-BG-based immunosensor exhibited a lower detection limit (0.0012 mU mL-1, S/N = 3) and wider linear range (0.1-4 × 104 mU mL-1) along with improved reproducibility, selectivity, and stability for the assay of CA153. Owing to the high process controllability of AuPt-BG films, a large-area electrode for in-vitro analyses and a flexible microelectrode for in-vivo analyses were prepared, which confirmed that the AuPt-BG-based sensor is an ideal CA153 detection platform for clinical diagnosis and practical applications.

Abstract
Cancer is a leading cause of death globally and early diagnosis is of paramount importance for identifying appropriate treatment pathways to improve cancer patient survival. However, conventional methods for cancer detection such as biopsy, CT scan, magnetic resonance imaging, endoscopy, X-ray and ultrasound are limited and not efficient for early cancer detection. Advancements in molecular technology have enabled the identification of various cancer biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of the deadly disease. The detection of these biomarkers can be done by biosensors. Biosensors are less time consuming compared to conventional methods and has the potential to detect cancer at an earlier stage. Compared to conventional biosensors, photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensors have improved selectivity and sensitivity and is a suitable tool for detecting cancer agents. Recently, 2D carbon materials have gained interest as a PEC sensing platform due to their high surface area and ease of surface modifications for improved electrical transfer and attachment of biorecognition elements. This review will focus on the development of 2D carbon nanomaterials as electrode platform in PEC biosensors for the detection of cancer biomarkers. The working principles, biorecognition strategies and key parameters that influence the performance of the biosensors will be critically discussed. In addition, the potential application of PEC biosensor in clinical settings will also be explored, providing insights into the future perspective and challenges of exploiting PEC biosensors for cancer diagnosis.

Abstract
In this work, novel dual-mode lab-on-paper devices based on in situ grown WO3/BiVO4 heterojunctions onto cellulose fibers, as signal amplification probes, were successfully fabricated by the integration of photoelectrochemical (PEC)/colorimetric analysis technologies into a paper sensing platform for the ultrasensitive detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP). Specifically, to achieve an impressive PEC performance of the lab-on-paper device, the WO3/BiVO4 heterojunction was in situ grown onto the surface of cellulose fibers assisted with Au nanoparticle (Au NP) functionalization for enhancing the conductivity of the working zone of the device. With the target concentration increased, more immune conjugates could be captured by the proposed paper photoelectrode, which could lead to a quantitative decrease in the photocurrent intensity, eventually realizing the accurate PEC signal readout. To meet the requirement of end-user application, a colorimetric signal readout system was designed for the lab-on-paper device based on the color reaction of 3,3'5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) oxidized by WO3/BiVO4 nanoflowers in the presence of H2O2. Noticeably, it is the first time that the WO3/BiVO4 heterojunction is in situ grown onto cellulose fibers, which enhances the sensitivity in view of both their PEC activity and catalytic ability. By controlling the conversion process of hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity on the lab-on-paper device combined with diverse origami methods, the dual-mode PEC/colorimetric signal output for the ultrasensitive AFP detection was realized. Under optimal conditions, the proposed dual-mode lab-on-paper device could enable the sensitive PEC/colorimetric diagnosis of AFP in the linear range of 0.09-100 ng mL-1 and 5-100 ng mL-1 with the limit of detection of 0.03 and 1.47 ng mL-1, respectively.

Abstract
Branched titanium dioxide nanorods (B-TiO2 NRs) grown on fluorine-doped tin oxide glass (FTO) were developed, which can be used as a solid-phase extractant for preconcentration and determination of trace Pb(II) combined with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The B-TiO2 NR-based glass substrate displayed excellent adsorptive selectivity and capacity for Pb(II); the maximum adsorption capacity was found to be 168.4 mg⋅g-1 PB(II) at pH = 5.0. It proved that the primary extraction mechanism was attributed to soft acid/soft base interactions to form complexes for chemisorption. Investigating the adsorption kinetics and isotherms indicated that the pseudo-second-order and Langmuir models can better describe Pb(II) adsorption on the B-TiO2 NRs. The proposed method presented good linearity from 0.01 to 5 mg⋅L-1 with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9989 and a low limit of detection (LOD) of 2.2 μg⋅L-1 for Pb(II) under optimal conditions. The method was successfully applied to Pb(II) determination in foodstuffs with desirable recoveries from 93.18 to 108.1% and good precision with an RSD of less than 12.2%. This work provides a new strategy for selective extraction and determination of Pb(II) in complicated matrix samples.

Abstract
Glucose oxidase (GOx) based biosensors are commercialized and marketed for the high selectivity of GOx. Incorporation nanomaterials with GOx can increase the sensitivity performance. In this work, an enzyme glucose biosensor based on nanotubes was fabricated. By using Ti foil as a carrier, hydrogen titanate nanotubes (HTNTs), which present fine 3D structure with vast pores, were fabricated in-situ by the hydrothermal treatment. The multilayer nanotubes are open-ended with a diameter of 10 nm. Then glucose oxidase (GOx) was loaded on the nanotubes by cross-linking to form an electrode of the amperometric glucose biosensor (GOx/HTNTs/Ti electrode). The fabricated GOx/HTNTs/Ti electrode had a linear response to 1-10 mM glucose, and the response time was 1.5 s. The sensitivity of the biosensor was 1.541 μA·mM-1·cm-2, and the detection limit (S/N = 3) was 59 μM. Obtained results indicate that the in-situ fabrication and unique 3D structure of GOx/HTNTs/Ti electrode are beneficial for its sensitivity.
