Abstract
Layered lanthanum titanate (La2Ti2O7) perovskite is a good photocatalytic material owing to its high stability, strong redox ability, and non-toxicity. However, its inherent wide bandgap limits its application in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. Therefore, combining La2Ti2O7 with two-dimensional (2D) narrow-bandgap semiconductors to form 2D/2D layered structures is the preferred strategy to improve its photocatalytic performance. In this study, a novel 2D/2D ZnIn2S4/La2Ti2O7 Z-scheme heterojunction was prepared through a solvothermal method. The experimental results show that when the molar ratio of La2Ti2O7 to ZnIn2S4 is 1 : 4, the hydrogen evolution rate of the composite under ultraviolet-visible light reaches 6.97 mmol g-1 h-1, which is 3.5 times higher than that of the pure ZnIn2S4. The results of the morphological characterization studies of the samples and the photoelectrochemical measurements show that channels for the rapid transfer of carriers are generated by the unique 2D/2D structure of these samples, and the separation and migration efficiency of the photogenerated carriers significantly improved due to the formation of the Z-scheme heterojunction. This study provides useful insights into the modulation of wide-bandgap semiconductors and research into solar energy conversion.

Abstract
Two-dimensional La2Ti2O7 nanosheets with regular morphology and good dispersion were prepared by the hydrothermal method under a magnetic field. Zero-dimensional Pt quantum dots (Pt-QDs) were loaded on the La2Ti2O7 nanosheets. The electron-hole separation and carrier transfer in the Pt-loaded La2Ti2O7 nanosheets were significantly enhanced. The La2Ti2O7 nanosheets loaded with 3 wt% Pt-QDs exhibit the largest NO removal efficiency of 51% and less than 3.2 ppb NO2 intermediate pollutant in 30 min. The high photocatalytic ability was attributed to the surface plasmon resonance in Pt-QDs and the enhanced electron-hole separation. A large number of e-, h+, •OH and •O2- active species were formed on the surface of Pt-loaded La2Ti2O7 nanosheets under light irradiation. The conversion pathway from NO to NO3- was verified by the in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier-transform spectroscopy and DFT calculation. This work supplies a feasible approach to responsive photocatalysts for efficient, stable, and selective NO removal avoiding the NO2 secondary pollutant.

Abstract
Constructing heterostructure is an effective way to fabricate advanced photocatalysts. However, the catalytic performance of typical common multi-dimensional bulk heterostructure still suffers from the limited active interface and inefficient carrier migration. Herein, we successfully synthesize the SnO2/Cs3Bi2I9 dual-quantum-dots nanoheterostructure (labeled as SCX, X = 1, 2, 3) for efficiently and stably photocatalytic NO removal under visible light irradiation. The NO removal rate of SC2 is almost 8 and 17 times higher than that of the single SnO2 and Cs3Bi2I9, respectively. Moreover, the SC2 photocatalyst shows only 3 % attenuation after five consecutive cycles, demonstrating good photocatalytic stability. Systematic experimental characterization and theoretical density functional theory calculations revealed that the high activity and stability of SCX originated from the efficient charge transfer at the confined interface between SnO2 and Cs3Bi2I9 quantum dots. This work provides a new perspective for constructing innovative dual-quantum-dots nanoheterostructure and assesses their potential in photocatalytic environmental applications.

Abstract
An appealing strategy in the direction of circular chemistry and sustainable nitrogen exploitation is to efficiently convert NOx pollutants into low-toxic products and simultaneously provide crop plants with metabolic nitrogen. This study demonstrates that such a scenario can be realized by a defect- and morphology-coengineered Ni-Fe-layered double hydroxide (NiFe-LDH) comprising ultrathin nanosheets. Rich oxygen vacancies are introduced onto the NiFe-LDH surface, which facilitate charge carrier transfer and enable photocatalytic O2 activation into superoxide radicals (•O2-) under visible light. •O2- on NiFe-LDH thermodynamically oxidizes NO into nitrate with selectivity over 92%, thus suppressing dangerous NO2 emissions. By merit of abundant mesopores on NiFe-LDH ultrathin nanosheets bearing a high surface area (103.08 m2/g), nitrate can be readily stored without compromising the NO oxidation reactivity or selectivity for long-term usage. The nitrate species can be easily washed off the NiFe-LDH surface and then enriched in the liquid form as easy-to-use chemicals.

Abstract
Highly active and efficient photocatalysts are crucial for the exploration of ammonia synthesis because of the serious problem of energy deficiency. La2TiO5 (LTO) perovskite materials have great advantages in the field of photocatalytic nitrogen fixation because of the broadly diversified properties. The rational design of surface defect is a valid method to modulate photoinduced charge traps and create defect energy levels, especially it is an effective way to suppress the photoinduced charge recombination. Herein, LTO was obtained by a simple sol-gel method and was further reduced by NaBH4 to introduce oxygen defect on its surface. UV-vis spectra proved that the surface defects could reduce the band gap value of samples, which is beneficial for improving photocatalytic nitrogen fixation activity. For the best photocatalytic samples with good cycle stability, the nitrogen fixation rate is 158.13 μmol·g-1·h-1. The mechanism of photocatalytic nitrogen fixation was proposed by the PL, XPS, and PEC results, which provided possibilities for exploring more promising perovskite catalysts in the field of nitrogen fixation.

Abstract
A high-efficiency Z-scheme Bi2MoO6/AgI heterojunction was designed and fabricated via in situ growth of AgI on Bi2MoO6. Its photocatalytic activity was investigated with the degradation of malachite green (MG). After 40 min of visible light irradiation, near complete degradation of MG (20 mg/L) occurred when BA11 (Bi2MoO6:AgI = 1:1, 2.0 g/L) was present, while only 29.0% and 49.7% of the MG could be degraded in the presence of Bi2MoO6 and AgI, respectively. The excellent photocatalytic activity of BA11 results from strong visible light absorption and the low recombination efficiency of photogenerated electron-hole pairs induced by the formation of heterojunction. Density function theory (DFT) calculations revealed that the formation of built-in electric field at the interface between Bi2MoO6 and AgI facilitates the effective separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers. Results of reuse experiments indicated that the heterostructured photocatalyst has excellent stability. Radical scavenging experiments and electron spin resonance spectra showed that superoxide radicals (O2-) and hydroxyl radicals (OH) were the major reactive oxygen species in the photocatalytic system. The photocatalytic degradation pathway of MG was proposed based on the organic degradation intermediates detected. These findings demonstrate that the mediator-free Z-scheme Bi2MoO6/AgI heterojunction could serve as a promising photocatalyst in photocatalytic treatment of organic pollutants.
