Abstract
A halogen-substituted cyclic disilene compound, bromocyclotrisilene, Si3Br(Eind)3 (3a), bearing fused-ring bulky Eind (a: R1 = R2 = Et) groups, has been synthesized as an extraordinarily air-stable compound by the reduction of 1,2-dibromodisilene, (Eind)BrSi═SiBr(Eind) (2a), or tribromosilane, (Eind)SiBr3 (1a), with the Mg or Li metal. The X-ray diffraction analysis of 3a showed that the disilene moiety has an almost planar, but slightly trans-bent structure. Even though 3a is quite air-stable both in solutions and in the solid state, its Si-Br bond is reactive under reducing conditions. The further treatment of 3a with the Li metal leads to the formation of room-temperature thermally stable silicon homologues of the cyclopropyl radical, i.e., the cyclotrisilanyl radicals (6a) [6a(syn) and 6a(anti)], via intramolecular C-H bond activation in a transient silicon homologue of the cyclopropenyl radical, i.e., the cyclotrisilenyl radical, [Si3(Eind)3]• (5a). The formation mechanism of 6a from 5a is discussed based on the theoretical calculations. The unique structural and electronic properties of these Si3 three-membered ring species incorporating the Eind groups have been experimentally and theoretically investigated.

Abstract
The synthesis, structures, and reactivity of the first neutral 2π-aromatic Si4 rings [LSiSiAr(X)]2 (3: X = Br; 4: X = Cl; L = PhC(NtBu)2, Ar = 2,4,6-Me3C6H2) were described. Compounds 3 and 4 were obtained by 1,3-halogenation of tetrasilacyclobutadiene (LSiSiAr)2 (2), which was prepared by the reductive cross-coupling of trisilane (ArSiCl2)2SiHAr with two equiv of chlorosilylene LSiCl. The reaction of 3 with two equiv of PhLi yielded the corresponding substitution Si4 ring [LSiSiAr(Ph)]2 (5). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of 3 disclosed that it adopts both puckered (3a) and planar (3b) structures in the solid state, whereas 4 and 5 exhibit only a puckered structure. DFT calculations suggested that the puckered 3a features almost the same electronic structure with fully delocalized 2π planar 3b. The dominant 2π-aromaticity of 3 in a σ-frame has been demonstrated by DFT calculations, providing the first example of aromatics featuring both planar and puckered structures.

Abstract
Isolation of the neutral homocyclic silylene 2 is possible via amine ligand abstraction with potassium graphite (KC8 ) and subsequent reaction with SiMe3 Cl from a bicyclic silicon(I) amide J. This reaction proceeds via an anionic homoaromatic silicon ring compound 1 as an intermediate. The twofold-coordinated silicon atom in the homocyclic silylene 2 is stabilized by an allyl-type π-electron delocalization. 2 reacts in an oxidative addition with two equivalents of MeOH and in cycloadditions with ethene, phenylacetylene, diphenylacetylene and with 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene to afford novel functionalized ring compounds.

Abstract
1,3-Diethynylbicyclo[1.1.0]tetrasilanes that contain an unsupported bridgehead Si-Si π-bond and ethynyl π-moieties were synthesized by the reaction of a 1,3-dihalobicyclo[1.1.0]tetrasilane with the corresponding lithium acetylide. The substantial bathochromic shift of the longest-wavelength absorption band observed for the phenylethynyl-substituted bicyclo[1.1.0]tetrasilane in the solid state compared to that of the octynyl-substituted derivative suggested the presence of effective π-conjugation between the unsupported Si-Si π and ethynyl π units.

Abstract
Complexes that could be switched between two electronic states by external stimuli have attracted much attention for their potential application in molecular devices. However, a realization of such a phenomenon with low-valent main-group element-centered complexes remains challenging. Herein, we report the synthesis of cyclic (alkyl)(amino)silylene (CAASi)-ligated monatomic silicon(0) complexes (silylones). The bis(CAASi)-ligated silylone adopts a π-localized ylidene structure (greenish-black color) in the solid state and a π-delocalized ylidene structure (dark-purple color) in solution that could be reversibly switched upon phase transfer (ylidene [L: → :Si = L ↔ L = Si: ← :L]). The observed remarkable difference in the physical properties of the two isomers is attributed to the balanced steric demand and redox noninnocent character of the CAASi ligand which are altered by the orientation of the two terminal ligands with respect to the Si-Si-Si plane: twisted structure (π-localized ylidene) and planar structure (π-delocalized ylidene). Conversely, the CAASi/CDASi-ligated heteroleptic silylone (CDASi = cyclic dialkylsilylene) only exhibited the twisted π-localized ylidene structure regardless of the phase. The synthesized silylones also proved themselves as monatomic silicon surrogates. Thermolysis of the silylones in the presence of an ethane-1,2-diimine afforded the corresponding diaminosilylenes. Analyses of the products suggested a stepwise mechanism that proceeds via a disilavinylidene intermediate.

Abstract
Reductive debromination of {N(SiMe3)2}SiBr3 with Rieke magnesium results in the formation of the five‐vertex silicon cluster with one bromine substituent Si5{N(SiMe3)2}5Br, 1, and the cyclobutadiene analogue 2 in a 1:1 ratio. The latter features a planar four‐membered silicon ring with a charge‐separated electronic situation. Two silicon atoms in 2 are trigonal planar and the other two trigonal pyramidal. In cycloadditions with ethylene, diethylacetylene, 1,5‐cyclooctadiene, and 2,3‐dimethyl‐1,3‐butadiene cyclic unsaturated ring compounds (3–6) were formed at room temperature in quantitative reactions. Two of the products (3 and 6) show photochemical isomerization with LED light (λ=405 nm) to afford saturated ring compounds 4 e and 6′.
