Abstract
Herein, the electrodeposition of paracetamol oxide (PA ox) for the intelligent portable ratiometric detection of nicotine (NIC) and ethyl vanillin β-D-glucoside (EVG) is reported. PA ox electrodeposited on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) was used as a new fixed state ratiometric reference probe. A portable electrochemical workstation combined with a smart phone was applied as an intelligent portable electrochemical sensing platform. The sensor was studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-vis), theoretical calculation, chronoamperometry, cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and square wave voltammetry (SWV). Under optimized conditions, the detection range of NIC is 10-200 μmol L-1, and the detection limit is 0.256 μmol L-1. The detection range of EVG was 10-180 μmol L-1, and the detection limit was 0.058 μmol L-1. The sensor can realize the real-time detection of NIC and EVG concentration in cigarette samples quickly and accurately, and has good anti-interference, repeatability and stability.

Abstract
A propitious biosensor for adrenaline (AD) detection in bovine serum albumin (BSA) real samples, which can be used for diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, is reported here. The biosensor consists of a La/ZF/rGO/ITO bioelectrode, which is fabricated by electrophoretic deposition of zinc ferrite/reduced graphene oxide (ZF/rGO) nanohybrid followed by drop casting of laccase (La) enzymes. The material characterization and electrochemical studies revealed that the ZF/rGO nanohybrid enhanced the electroactive surface and facilitated direct electron transfer between the electrode and electrolyte interface, resulting in enhanced electrocatalytic performance. The cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results asserted that the ZF/rGO nanohybrid decreased the charge-transfer resistance (Rct) and increased the surface adsorption, leading to a high diffusion coefficient (D) of 0.192 cm2/s. The biosensor exhibited a high sensitivity of 0.71 Ω/μM cm2, a good linear range (0.1 to 140 μM with R2 = 0.98), and a low limit of detection (LOD) is 12.5 μM, demonstrating the synergic effect of ZF and rGO in the La/ZF/rGO/ITO bioelectrode with AD. The biosensor also exhibited high selectivity and stability (55 days) in the presence of interfering substances and in BSA samples, with a recovery percentage close to 100 ± 5% RSD, indicating its potential biosensing applications for real-world applications in disease diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment.

Morphology Effect of Bismuth Vanadate on Electrochemical Sensing for the Detection of Paracetamol. NANOMATERIALS 2022; 12:nano12071173. Abstract
Morphology-control, as a promising and effective strategy, is widely implemented to change surface atomic active sites and thus enhance the intrinsic electrocatalytic activity and selectivity. As a typical n-type semiconductor, a series of bismuth vanadate samples with tunable morphologies of clavate, fusiform, flowered, bulky, and nanoparticles were prepared to investigate the morphology effect. Among all the synthesized samples, the clavate shaped BiVO4 with high index facets of (112), (301), and (200) exhibited reduced extrinsic pseudocapacitance and enhanced redox response, which is beneficial for tackling the sluggish voltammetric response of the traditional nanoparticle on the electrode surface. Benefiting from the large surface-active area and favorable ion diffusion channels, the clavate shaped BiVO4 exhibited the best electrochemical sensing performance for paracetamol with a linear response in the range of 0.5–100 µmol and a low detection limit of 0.2 µmol. The enhanced electrochemical detection of paracetamol by bismuth vanadate nanomaterials with controllable shapes indicates their potential for applications as electrochemical sensors.

Abstract
The main goal of the presented study was to design a biosensor-based system for epinephrine (EP) detection using a poly-thiophene derivative and tyrosinase as a biorecognition element. We compared two different electroanalytical techniques to select the most prominent technique for analyzing the neurotransmitter. The prepared biosensor system exhibited good parameters; the differential pulse (DPV) technique presented a wide linear range (1–20 μM and 30–200 μM), with a low detection limit (0.18 nM and 1.03 nM). In the case of chronoamperometry (CA), a high signal-to-noise ratio and lower reproducibility were observed, causing a less broad linear range (10–200 μM) and a higher detection limit (125 nM). Therefore, the DPV technique was used for the calculation of sensitivity (0.0011 μA mM−1 cm−2), stability (49 days), and total surface coverage (4.18 × 10−12 mol cm−2). The biosensor also showed very high selectivity in the presence of common interfering species (i.e. ascorbic acid, uric acid, norepinephrine, dopamine) and was successfully applied for EP determination in a pharmaceutical sample. GCE/poly-4,4′-bBT/tyrosinase biosensor for epinephrine was constructed. Comparison of differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and chronoamperometry was performed. DPV showed more reproducible results giving high selectivity, sensitivity, stability.![]()

Abstract
A novel nano-electrocatalyst based on Cu5V2O10 is successfully fabricated by one-pot hydrothermal treatment and used for the examination of mefenamic acid (MFA) in real samples, for the first time. Controlling the combined factors of complexing agent's (4, 4'-Diaminodiphenylmethane, DDM) molar ratio, hydrothermal temperature, and reaction time is responsible for providing the optimal structural and morphological changes of the crystals. The effect of operating conditions of Cu5V2O10 nanostructures is investigated using FT-IR, XRD, and EDX as structural and elemental analyses. Also, other properties such as particle size and morphological studies were accomplished by FE-SEM, and HR-TEM. The results reveal that the monoclinic phase of Cu5V2O10 with particle size of 34 nm is the outcome of hydrothermal treatment of 200 °C for 18 h, which DDM template with molar ratio of 2.0 M serves as phase stabilizing matrix. Herein, it is demonstrated the electrochemical biosensing characteristics of the nano-scale Cu5V2O10 modified carbon paste electrode (CV/CPE) by voltammetry techniques. The drug sensing capabilities of the boosted CV/CPE platform exhibit linear dynamic range of 0.01-470 μM, and low detection limit of 2.34 nM with excellent sensitivity and selectivity. The appropriate electrical conductivity and layered structure of the compound causes a valuable platform for minimally invasive assessment of MFA in biological and pharmaceutical media with recovery rate of 98.3%-110.0% and 93.6%-106.7%, respectively. As a result, the proposed nanostructures as great candidate offer excellent electrocatalytic activity in biomedicine applications.

Abstract
Electrochemical sensors appear as low-cost, rapid, easy to use, and in situ devices for determination of diverse analytes in a liquid solution. In that context, conducting polymers are much-explored sensor building materials because of their semiconductivity, structural versatility, multiple synthetic pathways, and stability in environmental conditions. In this state-of-the-art review, synthetic processes, morphological characterization, and nanostructure formation are analyzed for relevant literature about electrochemical sensors based on conducting polymers for the determination of molecules that (i) have a fundamental role in the human body function regulation, and (ii) are considered as water emergent pollutants. Special focus is put on the different types of micro- and nanostructures generated for the polymer itself or the combination with different materials in a composite, and how the rough morphology of the conducting polymers based electrochemical sensors affect their limit of detection. Polypyrroles, polyanilines, and polythiophenes appear as the most recurrent conducting polymers for the construction of electrochemical sensors. These conducting polymers are usually built starting from bifunctional precursor monomers resulting in linear and branched polymer structures; however, opportunities for sensitivity enhancement in electrochemical sensors have been recently reported by using conjugated microporous polymers synthesized from multifunctional monomers.

Abstract
For this study, three novel types of sensors comprised of CoAl-layered double oxyhydroxide (CoAl-LDH), CoAl-LDH/reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and CoAl-OOH/rGO nanosheets were successfully fabricated on glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs) and employed for the electrochemical detection of epinephrine (EP) and acetaminophen (AC). Interestingly, we found that the CoAl-OOH/rGO/GCE was more suitable for the determination of EP and AC in contrast to the CoAl-LDH and CoAl-OOH/rGO sensors. Differential pulse voltammetry results revealed that the CoAl-OOH/rGO/GCE delivered excellent electrocatalytic activity. The sensitivities and detection limits for the simultaneous measurement of EP and AC were 12.2 μA μM-1 cm-2, 0.023 μM L-1, and 4.87 μA μM-1 cm-2, 0.058 μM L-1, respectively. Especially, the as-obtained CoAl-OOH/rGO/GCE was successfully utilized for the detection in pharmaceutical samples and biological fluids with satisfactory results. Owing to its outstanding electrocatalytic activity and superior sensitivity, the CoAl-OOH/rGO/GCE could be beneficial to construct a promising electrochemical sensor for the detection of EP and AC.
