Abstract
Anticorrosion and adsorption behaviour of synthesized carbohydrazide Schiff bases, namely (Z)-N'-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)-6-methyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbohydrazide(MBTC) and (Z)-N'-(3,4-dichlorobenzylidene)-6-methyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carbohydrazide (CBTC) was examined for mild steel (MS) in 15% HCl medium. The corrosion inhibition study was performed by using gravimetric, thermodynamic, electrochemical and theoretical studies including density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamic simulation (MDS) and Monte Carlo simulations (MCS). The outcomes in terms of corrosion inhibition efficiency using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) method at 303 K and 150 ppm concentration were 96.75% for MBTC and 95.14% for CBTC. Both inhibitors adsorbed on the MS surface through physical as well as chemical adsorption and followed the Langmuir isotherm. The mixed-type nature of both inhibitors was identified by polarization results. Surface analysis was done using FESEM, EDX, AFM and XPS studies and results showed that a protective layer of inhibitor molecules was developed over the surface of MS. The results of DFT, MCS and MDS are in accordance with experimental results obtained by weight loss and electrochemical methods.

Abstract
Background Urease belongs to the family of amid hydrolases with two nickel atoms in their core structure. On the basis of literature survey, this research work is mainly focused on the study of bis-Schiff base derivatives of benzyl phenyl ketone nucleus. Objective Synthesis of benzyl phenyl ketone based bis-Schiff bases in search of potent urease inhibitors. Method In the current work, bis-Schiff bases were synthesized through two steps reaction by reacting benzyl phenyl ketone with excess of hydrazine hydrate in ethanol solvent in the first step to get the desired hydrazone. In last, different substituted aromatic aldehydes were refluxed in catalytic amount of acetic acid with the desired hydrazone to obtain bis-Schiff base derivatives in tremendous yields. Using various spectroscopic techniques including FTIR, HR-ESI-MS, and 1H NMR spectroscopy were used to clarify the structures of the created bis-Schiff base derivatives. Results The prepared compounds were finally screened for their in-vitro urease inhibition activity. All the synthesized derivatives (3-9) showed excellent to less inhibitory activity when compared with standard thiourea (IC50 = 21.15 ± 0.32 µM). Compounds 3 (IC50 = 22.21 ± 0.42 µM), 4 (IC50 = 26.11 ± 0.22 µM) and 6 (IC50 = 28.11 ± 0.22 µM) were found the most active urease inhibitors near to standard thiourea among the synthesized series. Similarly, compound 5 having IC50 value of 34.32 ± 0.65 µM showed significant inhibitory activity against urease enzyme. Furthermore, three compounds 7, 8, and 9 exhibited less activity with IC50 values of 45.91 ± 0.14, 47.91 ± 0.14, and 48.33 ± 0.72 µM respectively. DFT used to calculate frontier molecular orbitals including; HOMO and LUMO to indicate the charge transfer from molecule to biological transfer, and MEP map to indicate the chemically reactive zone suitable for drug action. The electron localization function (ELF), non-bonding orbitals, AIM charges are also calculated. The docking study contributed to the analysis of urease protein binding.

Melamine-isatin tris Schiff base as an efficient corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 0.5 molar hydrochloric acid solution: weight loss, electrochemical and surface studies. Abstract
In the current study, 3,3',3''-((1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tris(azaneylylidene))tris(indolin-2-one) (MISB), which is the condensation product of melamine (triazine) and isatin, was investigated as a mild steel corrosion inhibitor in 0.5 M HCl. The ability of the synthesized tris-Schiff base to suppress corrosion was evaluated utilizing weight loss measurements, electrochemical techniques and theoretical computation. The maximum inhibition efficiency of 92.07%, 91.51% and 91.60% was achieved using 34.20 × 10-3 mM of MISB in weight loss measurements, polarization, and EIS tests, respectively. It was revealed that an increase in temperature decreased the inhibition performance of MISB, whereas an increase in the concentration of MISB increased it. The analysis demonstrated that the synthesized tris-Schiff base inhibitor followed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm and was an effective mixed-type inhibitor, but it exhibited dominant cathodic behavior. According to the electrochemical impedance measurements, the Rct values increased with an increase in the inhibitor concentration. The weight loss and electrochemical assessments were also supported by quantum calculations and surface characterization analysis, and the SEM images showed a smooth surface morphology.

Abstract
The exploitation of cost-effective, sustainable, green and efficient compounds is a renewed science and a demanding mission for today's chemists and technologists. In this view, the inhibitive corrosion properties of some hydrazine derivatives named (1E,2E)-bis(1-(2-nitrophenyl)ethylidene)hydrazine (SSBO), (1E,2E)-bis(1-(3-nitrophenyl)ethylidene)hydrazine (SSBM) and (1E,2E)-bis(1-(4-nitrophenyl)ethylidene)hydrazine (SSBP) on the C38 steel corrosion in 1M HCl media has been evaluated by different techniques like electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The EIS results showed that SSBM is the greatest inhibitor (η>93%) among the three tested compounds. The SSBM gives considerable inhibition efficiency against corrosion of steel compared to the previous studies. The PDP curves indicated that the studied inhibitors were a mixed-type inhibitor with a predominantly cathodic control. Quantum calculations of some descriptors derived from the density functional theory (DFT), the transition state theory (TST), the quantum theory of atoms in molecules (QTAIM) and molecular dynamics simulation have delivered helpful information regarding electron transfer and mechanism during adsorption of inhibitors on C38 steel surface.
