Abstract
In the current research, we prepared a polymeric framework, {[Cu(C2O4)(C10H8N2)]·H2O·0.67(CH3OH)]}n (1) (where C2O4 = oxalic acid; C10H8N2 = 2,2-bipyridine), and explored this compound for adsorption of methylene blue (MB) and methyl orange (MO). The crystal structure of the compound consists of a Cu(ox)(bpy) unit connected via oxalate to form a 1D polymeric chain. This polymeric chain has adsorption capacities of 194.0 and 167.3 mg/g for MB and MO, respectively. The removal rate is estimated to be 77.6% and 66.9% for MB and MO, respectively. The plausible mechanisms for adsorption are electrostatic, π-π interaction, and OH-π interaction for dye stickiness. The adsorbent surface exhibits a negative charge that produces the electrostatic interaction, resulting in excellent adsorption efficiency at pH 7 and 8. The pseudo-first-order kinetic model is selected for the adsorption of MB and MO on the adsorbent. The reported compound has remarkable efficiency for sorption of organic dyes and can be useful in wastewater treatment.

Abstract
Unveiling the structural evolution of single-crystalline compounds based on certain building units may help greatly in guiding the design of complex structures. Herein, a series of praseodymium antimony oxohalide crystals have been isolated under solvothermal conditions via adjusting the solvents used, that is, [HN(CH2CH3)3][FeII(2,2′-bpy)3][Pr4Sb12O18Cl15]·EtOH (1) (2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine), [HN(CH2CH3)3][FeII(2,2′-bpy)3]2[Pr4Sb12O18Cl14)2Cl]·N(CH2CH3)3·2H2O (2), and (H3O)[Pr4Sb12O18Cl12.5(TEOA)0.5]·2.5EtOH (3) (TEOA = mono-deprotonated triethanolamine anion). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all the three structures feature an anionic zig-zag chain of [Pr4Sb12O18Cl15−x]n as the tertiary building unit (TBU), which is formed by interconnections of praseodymium antimony oxochloride clusters (denoted as {Pr4Sb12}) as secondary building units. Interestingly, different arrangements or linkages of chain-like TBUs result in one-dimensional, two-dimensional layered, and three-dimensional structures of 1, 2, and 3, respectively, thus demonstrating clearly the structural evolution of metal oxohalide crystals. The title compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and the photodegradation for methyl blue in an aqueous solution of compound 1 has been preliminarily studied. This work offers a way to deeply understand the assembly process of intricate lanthanide-antimony(III) oxohalide structures at the atomic level.

Abstract
Sensing and monitoring hazardous contaminants in water and radioactive iodine sequestration is pivotal due to their detrimental impact on biological ecosystems. In this context, herein, a water stable zirconium-diimide based metallogel (Zr@MG) with fibrous columnar morphology is accomplished through the "heat set" method. The presence of diimide linkage with long aromatic chain manifests active luminescence properties in the linker as well as in the supramolecular framework structure. The as-synthesized Zr@MG xerogel can selectively detectCr2O72- (LOD = 0.52 ppm) and 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) (LOD = 80.2 ppb) in the aqueous medium. The Zr@MG paper strip-based detection for Cr2O72- and nitro explosive makes this metallogel reliable and an attractive luminescent sensor for practical use. Moreover, a column-based dye separation experiment was performed to show selective capture of positively charged methylene blue (MB) dye with 98 % separation efficiency from the mixture of two dyes. Also, the Zr@MG xerogel showed effective iodine sequestration from the vapor phase (232 wt%).

Abstract
Photodegradation of organic pollutants is the most suitable and cheaper technique to counter decontamination issues. Among the metal-based nanoparticles, TiO2 is considered to be the most effective heterogeneous photocatalyst for the photodegradation of organic pollutants. However, the large band gap and the high electron-hole pair recombination rate limit its practical applications. Herein, an approach was introduced to minimize the mentioned limitations by preparing CdTiO2 and ZnCdTiO2 nanocomposites by co-precipitation method. The as-synthesized TiO2, CdTiO2, and ZnCdTiO2 were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), and UV-visible spectrophotometry. Morphological analysis revealed that TiO2 are mostly agglomerated with different shapes and sizes and the nanocomposites are mostly in dispersed form. The components of the nanocomposites are strongly intercalated in the ternary nanocomposite as confirmed from TEM analysis. XRD analysis confirmed the anatase TiO2 while the UV-visible analysis showed the shifting toward higher wavelength. The band gap energy of TiO2 (2.65) decreased to 2.6 and 2.56 eV for CdTiO2 and ZnCdTiO2, respectively. BET analysis has shown a 47.2 m2/g surface area for the ternary ZnCdTiO2 nanocomposite. The photodegradation results revealed that TiO2, CdTiO2, and ZnCdTiO2 degraded about 74%, 86%, and 97.61% methylene blue dye, respectively, within 2 h. Maximum photodegradation is achieved in the basic medium and the ternary ZnCdTiO2 nanocomposite degraded 98% dye at pH 10.
