Abstract
This study reports selective dual amino acylation and C-H bromination of aniline compounds enabled by Cu/O2 catalyst systems. This method involves crucial oxidation-induced C-CN bond cleavage of α-methylene nitriles to generate an acylcyanide intermediate that is facilely intercepted by anilines. After amino acylation, the Cu(II) precatalyst in combination with NBS generates Cu(III)-Br in situ that engages in selective electrophilic para- or ortho-C-H bromination. The substrate scope, mechanistic aspects, and late-stage functionalization of biologically active anilines are studied. This study shows the synthetic potential of oxidative C-CN bond activation of nitriles for the development of valuable reactions.

Abstract
Molecular solar thermal (MOST) energy storage systems are getting increased attention related to renewable energy storage applications. Particularly, 2,3-difunctionalized norbornadiene-quadricyclane (NBD-QC) switches bearing a nitrile (CN) group as one of the two substituents are investigated as promising MOST candidates thanks to their high energy storage densities and their red-shifted absorbance. Moreover, such NBD systems can be prepared in large quantities (a requirement for MOST-device applications) in flow through Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and appropriately functionalized propynenitriles. However, these acetylene precursors are traditionally prepared in batch from their corresponding acetophenones using reactive chemicals potentially leading to health and physical hazards, especially when working on a several-grams scale. Here, we develop a multistep flow-chemistry route to enhance the production of these crucial precursors. Furthermore, we assess the atom economy (AE) and the E-factor showing improved green metrics compared to classical batch methods. Our results pave the way for a complete flow synthesis of NBDs with a positive impact on green chemistry aspects.

Abstract
High-valent metal oxo complexes are prototypical intermediates for the activation and hydroxylation of alkyl C-H bonds. Substituting the oxo ligand with other functional groups offers the opportunity for additional C-H functionalization beyond C-O bond formation. However, few species aside from metal oxo complexes have been reported to both activate and functionalize alkyl C-H bonds. We herein report the first example of an isolated copper(iii) cyanide complex (LCuIIICN) and its C-H cyanation reactivity. We found that the redox potential (E ox) of substrates, instead of C-H bond dissociation energy, is a key determinant of the rate of PCET, suggesting an oxidative asynchronous CPET or ETPT mechanism. Among substrates with the same BDEs, those with low redox potentials transfer H atoms up to a million-fold faster. Capitalizing on this mechanistic insight, we found that LCuIIICN is highly selective for cyanation of amines, which is predisposed to oxidative asynchronous or stepwise transfer of H+/e-. Our study demonstrates that the asynchronous effect of PCET is an appealing tool for controlling the selectivity of C-H functionalization.

Abstract
We report a radical transnitrilation of arylboronic acids with trityl isocyanide in the presence of manganese(III) acetate. Many functional groups can be tolerated in this transformation, and a special positive effect of benzoic acid in this reaction has been observed.
