Abstract
A visible-light-induced radical cascade regioselective acylation/cyclization of 1,7-dienes with acyl oxime esters for the preparation of acylation polycyclic compounds via NCR-mediated C-C σ-bond cleavage is established. The transformation involves the cleavage of the C-C σ-bond in acyl oxime esters and selective addition of the electron neutral C═C bonds in 1,7-dienes for the synthesis of acyl polycyclic quinolinone derivatives, not the traditional seven-membered ring products. The strategy offers several advantages, including broad substrate tolerance, no need for bases, hyperstoichiometric radical initiators, and other auxiliaries.

Abstract
Visible-light-induced regioselective cascade radical cyclization of α-bromocarbonyls for the synthesis of benzazepine derivatives is described. In the presence of fac-Ir(ppy)3 (2.0 mol %) as a photocatalyst, 2,6-lutidine as a base, and dichloromethane as a solvent, the reactions proceed smoothly to afford seven-membered rings in good yields. This protocol features a broad substrate scope, excellent functional group tolerance, and mild reaction conditions. Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal that the generation of the α-carbon radical is more prone to react with the 1,1-diphenylethylene tethered acrylamide to generate the stable seven-membered heterocycle.

Abstract
Cyclobutanone oximes and their derivatives are pivotal core structural motifs in organic chemistry. Iminyl-radical-triggered C-C bond cleavage of cyclobutanone oximes delivers an efficient strategy to produce stable distal cyano-substituted alkyl radicals, which can capture SO2, CO or O2 to form cyanoalkylsulfonyl radicals, cyanoalkylcarbonyl radicals or cyanoalkoxyl radicals under mild conditions. In the past several years, cyanoalkylsulfonylation/cyanoalkylcarbonyaltion/cyanoalkoxylation has attracted a lot of interest. In this updated report, the strategies for trapping SO2, CO or O2via iminyl-radical-triggered ring-opening of cyclobutanone oximes are summarized.

A visible light-induced C-C bond cleavage/addition/cyclization cascade of oxime esters and unactivated alkenes has been developed using water as the solvent. This green protocol offers an easy access to medicinally valuable cyanoalkylated quinazolinones. Abstract
A novel multicomponent sulfonylation of alkenes is described for the assembly of various β-substituted arylsulfones using cheap and easily available K2S2O5 as a sulfur dioxide source. Of note, the procedure does not need any extra oxidants and metal catalysts and exhibits a relatively wide substrate scope and good functional group compatibility. Mechanistically, an initial arylsulfonyl radical is formed involving the insertion of sulfur dioxide with aryl diazonium salt, followed by alkoxyarylsulfonylation or hydroxysulfonylation of alkenes.

Abstract
This study describes a visible-light-induced cascade reaction for preparing cyanoalkyl-containing polyheterocycles initiated by the photoinduced radical cascade addition of N-arylacrylamide derivatives using cyclic oxime esters as radical sources followed by cyanoalkyl-mediated cyclization. This protocol features outstanding functional group compatibility, providing a variety of desired phenanthridine derivatives in moderate to good yields. Moreover, the application of a microflow technique enhanced these reactions compared with the equivalent batch reaction, significantly reducing reaction times to 10 min.

Abstract
An efficient arylsulfonylation/cyclization of 2-aryl-N-methacryloyl indoles with potassium metabisulfite and aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates was developed. A series of variously substituted arylsulfonyl indolo[2,1-a]isoquinolin-6(5H)-ones were formed in moderate to good yields via utilization of the nature abundant inorganic salt potassium metabisulfite as a SO2 surrogate. Additionally, this three-component protocol can also be employed for the synthesis of arylsulfonyl-substituted benzimidazo-[2,1-a]isoquinolin-6(5H)-ones.

Abstract
Visible-light photoredox catalysis has been regarded as an extremely powerful tool in organic chemistry, bringing the spotlight back to radical processes. The versatility of photocatalyzed reactions has already been demonstrated to be effective in providing alternative routes for cross-coupling as well as multicomponent reactions. The photocatalyst allows the generation of high-energy intermediates through light irradiation rather than using highly reactive reagents or harsh reaction conditions. In a similar vein, organic electrochemistry has experienced a fruitful renaissance as a tool for generating reactive intermediates without the need for any catalyst. Such milder approaches pose the basis toward higher selectivity and broader applicability. In photocatalyzed and electrochemical multicomponent reactions, the generation of the radical species acts as a starter of the cascade of events. This allows for diverse reactivity and the use of reagents is usually not covered by classical methods. Owing to the availability of cheaper and more standardized photo- and electrochemical reactors, as well as easily scalable flow-setups, it is not surprising that these two fields have become areas of increased research interest. Keeping these in view, this review is aimed at providing an overview of the synthetic approaches in the design of MCRs involving photoredox catalysis and/or electrochemical activation as a crucial step with particular focus on the choice of the difunctionalized reagent.

Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed radical cascade cyanoalkylsulfonylation/cyclization of 3-arylethynyl-[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-carbonitriles with DABCO·(SO2)2 and cyclobutanone oxime esters via cleavage of a C-C single bond and insertion of SO2 was described. A series of cyanoalkylsulfone-containing cyclopenta[gh]phenanthridines were obtained in moderate-to-good yields, thus featuring mild reaction conditions, a broad substrate scope, and a high functional group tolerance.
