Abstract
We report the creation of ultracold ground state ^{6}Li^{40}K polar molecules with high efficiency. Starting from weakly bound molecules, stimulated Raman adiabatic passage is adopted to coherently transfer the molecules to their singlet rovibrational ground state |X^{1}Σ^{+},v=0,J=0⟩. By employing a singlet stimulated Raman adiabatic passage pathway and low-phase-noise narrow-linewidth lasers, we observed a one-way transfer efficiency of 96(4)%. Held in an optical dipole trap, the lifetime of the ground state molecules is measured to be 5.0(3) ms. The large permanent dipole moment of LiK is confirmed by applying a dc electric field on the molecules and performing Stark shift spectroscopy of the ground state. With recent advances in the quantum control of collisions, our work paves the way for exploring quantum many-body physics with strongly interacting ^{6}Li^{40}K molecules.

Abstract
Accurate potential energy curves (PECs) are determined for the twenty-two electronic states of LiRb. In contrast to previous studies, the applied approach relies on the first principle calculations involving correlation among all electrons. The current methodology is founded on the multireference coupled cluster (CC) scheme constructed within the Fock space (FS) formalism, specifically for the (2,0) sector. The FS methodology is established within the framework of the intermediate Hamiltonian formalism and offers an intruder-free, efficient computational scheme. This method has a distinctive feature that, when applied to the doubly ionized system, provides the characteristics of the neutral case. This proves especially beneficial when investigating PECs in situations where a closed-shell molecule dissociates into open-shell fragments, yet its double positive ion forms closed-shell species. In every instance, we successfully computed continuous PECs spanning the entire range of interatomic distances, from the equilibrium to the dissociation limit. Moreover, the spectroscopic characteristic of various electronic states is presented, including relativistic effects. Relativistic corrections included at the third-order Douglas-Kroll level have a non-negligible effect on the accuracy of the determined spectroscopic constants.

Abstract
A model for photoassociation of ultracold atoms and molecules is presented and applied to the case of 39K and 23Na39K bosonic particles. The model relies on the assumption that photoassociation is dominated by long-range atom-molecule interactions well outside the chemical bond region. The frequency of the photoassociation laser is chosen close to a bound-bound rovibronic transition from the X1Σ+ ground state toward the metastable b3Π lowest excited state of 23Na39K, allowing us to neglect any other excitation, which could hinder the photoassociation detection. The energy level structure of the long-range 39K···23Na39K excited super-dimer is computed in the space-fixed frame by solving coupled-channel equations, involving the coupling between the 23Na39K internal rotation and the mechanical rotation of the super-dimer complex. A quite rich structure is obtained, and the corresponding photoassociation rates are presented. Other possible photoassociation transitions are discussed in the context of the proposed model.

Abstract
Ab initio calculations of alkaline diatomic molecule interactions with alkaline atoms provide detailed information about their electronic structure, vibrational frequencies, and spectroscopic properties, which are difficult to measure experimentally. This knowledge can aid in designing and interpreting experiments and guide the development of computational models and advanced dynamical calculation. Using the quantum chemistry ab initio methods based on multi-reference configuration interaction with Davidson correction (MCSCF/MRCI + Q), atomic effective core potentials, core-polarization potentials, and the interactions between the sodium atom and the NaRb diatomic molecule are investigated. To describe the potential energy surfaces of the RbNa2 system, we introduce two geometries described in the Z-matrix coordinates (Re, R, θ). Potential energy surfaces of the ground state 12A' and the first excited state 22A' were calculated for different approach directions of the sodium atom to the NaRb molecule and two geometries were considered. The first geometry is where the Na atom approaches the Rb atom of the RbNa dimer, and the second one is when it approaches the Na atom of the RbNa dimer. Global minima of the ground and first excited states and conical intersections between these states are determined for both geometries. The RbNa dimer in interaction with the sodium atom is found to be strongly attractive in its first excited state, which may be important for the experimenters particularly in the field of cold alkali polar dimers. Thereafter, the potential energy curves correlated to the lowest-lying dissociation limits are calculated in the linear form for the two geometrical cases (angle θ at 180°) and the atomic arrangement effect is observed.

Abstract
Controlling molecular binding at the level of single atoms is one of the holy grails of quantum chemistry. Rydberg macrodimers─bound states between highly excited Rydberg atoms─provide a novel perspective in this direction. Resulting from binding potentials formed by the strong, long-range interactions of Rydberg states, Rydberg macrodimers feature bond lengths in the micrometer regime, exceeding those of conventional molecules by orders of magnitude. Using single-atom control in quantum gas microscopes, the unique properties of these exotic states can be studied with unprecedented control, including the response to magnetic fields or the polarization of light in their photoassociation. The high accuracy achieved in spectroscopic studies of macrodimers makes them an ideal testbed to benchmark Rydberg interactions, with direct relevance to quantum computing and information protocols where these are employed. This review provides a historic overview and summarizes the recent findings in the field of Rydberg macrodimers. Furthermore, it presents new data on interactions between macrodimers, leading to a phenomenon analogous to Rydberg blockade at the level of molecules, opening the path toward studying many-body systems of ultralong-range Rydberg molecules.

Abstract
We report on the creation of bosonic NaCs molecules in their absolute rovibrational ground state via stimulated Raman adiabatic passage. We create ultracold gases with up to 22 000 dipolar NaCs molecules at a temperature of 300(50) nK and a peak density of 1.0(4)×10^{12} cm^{-3}. We demonstrate comprehensive quantum state control by preparing the molecules in a specific electronic, vibrational, rotational, and hyperfine state. We measure the ground state ac polarizability at 1064 nm along with the two-body loss rate, which we find to be universal. Employing the tunability and strength of the permanent electric dipole moment of NaCs, we induce dipole moments of up to 2.6 D at a dc electric field of 2.1(2) kV/cm and demonstrate strong microwave coupling between the two lowest rotational states with a Rabi frequency of 2π×45 MHz. A large electric dipole moment, accessible at relatively small electric fields, makes ultracold gases of NaCs molecules well suited for the exploration of strongly interacting phases of dipolar quantum matter.

Abstract
The non-adiabatic electronic matrix elements, LΠΣ(R), that arise from the spin-conserving electron-rotational interactions between all mΣ+ and mΠ states, where multiplicity m = 1, 3, converging to the lowest three dissociation limits of Li-containing alkali diatomics, LiM (M = Na, K, Rb), were calculated ab initio up to large internuclear distances, R. The required electronic wavefunctions were obtained within the framework of the multi-reference configuration interaction treatment of the two-valence-electron problem constructed using small-core scalar-relativistic effective core potentials and l-independent core-polarization potentials. A least squares analysis of the ab initio functions at large internuclear distances in conjunction with long-range perturbation theory (LRPT) revealed three different asymptotic behaviors of the LΠΣ(R → +∞)-functions: const. + β[n]/Rn, characterized by n = -1, 3 and 6. The asymptotic coefficients β[n], extracted from the point-wise ab initio data, were found to be in agreement with their LRPT counterparts, which were evaluated analytically using the relevant atomic parameters. The mass dependence of the LΠΣ matrix elements was investigated analytically and numerically. To confirm the reliability of the LΠΣ(R)-functions and interatomic potentials at small and intermediate distances, the empirical q-factors available for the D1Π-states of all LiM molecules studied were compared with their theoretical counterparts derived from the present ab initio data.

Abstract
We demonstrate microwave-assisted coherent control of ultracold 85Rb133Cs molecules in a ladder-type configuration of rotational states. Specifically, we use a probe and a control MW field to address the transitions between the J = 1 → 2 and J = 2 → 3 rotational states of the X1Σ+(v = 0) vibrational level, respectively, and use the control field to modify the response of the probe MW transition by coherently reducing the population of the intermediate J = 2 state. We observe that an increased Rabi frequency of the control field leads to broadening of the probe spectrum splitting and a shift of the central frequency. We apply Akaike's information criterion (AIC) to conclude that the observed coherent spectral response appears across the crossover regime between electromagnetically induced transparency and Aulter-Townes splitting. Our work is a significant development in microwave-assisted quantum control of ultracold polar molecules with multilevel configuration.

Abstract
We demonstrate measurement of the permanent electric dipole moment (EDM) of 85Rb133Cs molecules in the absolute vibrational ground state by microwave (MW) coherent spectroscopy. The rotational states of the considered molecules, which are formed from short-range photoassociation of mixed cold atoms, are nondegenerated under external electric field. To measure the EDM based on electric-field-induced shifts of the sublevels of X1Σ+(v = 0, J = 1) rotational state, we utilized a MW coherent spectroscopy, which has a higher resolution than depletion spectroscopy and one-photon MW spectroscopy and can also eliminate the influence from Stark shift of the excited state existing in both spectroscopies above. In order to acquire accurate electric intensity, electromagnetic induced transparency spectroscopy of 85Rb Rydberg atoms is used to implement the calibration. The permanent EDM of 85Rb133Cs molecules is finally determined to be 1.266(15) D, which agrees with the theoretical calculations and is comparable with the value of its isotopic molecule.

Abstract
We propose a method to suppress the chemical reactions between ultracold bosonic ground-state ^{23}Na^{87}Rb molecules based on optical shielding. By applying a laser with a frequency blue-detuned from the transition between the lowest rovibrational level of the electronic ground state X^{1}Σ^{+}(v_{X}=0,j_{X}=0), and the long-lived excited level b^{3}Π_{0}(v_{b}=0,j_{b}=1), the long-range dipole-dipole interaction between the colliding molecules can be engineered, leading to a dramatic suppression of reactive and photoinduced inelastic collisions, for both linear and circular laser polarizations. We demonstrate that the spontaneous emission from b^{3}Π_{0}(v_{b}=0,j_{b}=1) does not deteriorate the shielding process. This opens the possibility for a strong increase of the lifetime of cold molecule traps and for an efficient evaporative cooling. We also anticipate that the proposed mechanism is valid for alkali-metal diatomics with sufficiently large dipole-dipole interactions.

Abstract
We investigate the production of cold 85Rb133Cs molecules in the lowest vibronic level of the ground electronic state via the B1Π1 short-range state. The photoassociation (PA) spectra of the B1Π1 state, including newly observed transition to 2 vibronic levels, are obtained by high sensitivity time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Based on these PA spectra, the harmonic and anharmonic constants of vibronic states are obtained, resulting in predicted vibronic energies with an uncertainty of 1-2 cm-1. The B1Π1 (v = 3) state is found to have the maximum production rate for ground-state molecules with a value of 3(1) × 104 s-1, which is 3 times larger than the value via the previously studied 23Π0+ (v = 10, J = 0) state with two-photon cascade decay. The populations of J = 0, 1, and 2 rotational levels of X1Σ+ (v = 0) state molecules formed via the B1Π1 (v = 3, J = 1) state are measured to be around 20%, 40%, and 20%. To quantify the coupling strength between the B1Π1 (v = 3) state and X1Σ+ (v = 0) state, the transition dipole moment between them is measured to be 7.2(2) × 10-3ea0, which is also 3 times larger than the value between the 23Π0+ (v=10) state and X1Σ+ (v = 0) state, meaning the B1Π1 (v = 3) state has a stronger coupling with the X1Σ+ (v = 0) state. Our detailed measurements provide relevant parameters for investigation on direct stimulated Raman adiabatic passage transfer between the atomic scattering state and molecular bound state for 85Rb133Cs molecules.

Abstract
We use microwaves to engineer repulsive long-range interactions between ultracold polar molecules. The resulting shielding suppresses various loss mechanisms and provides large elastic cross sections. Hyperfine interactions limit the shielding under realistic conditions, but a magnetic field allows suppression of the losses to below 10^{-14} cm^{3} s^{-1}. The mechanism and optimum conditions for shielding differ substantially from those proposed by Gorshkov et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 073201 (2008)PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.101.073201], and do not require cancellation of the long-range dipole-dipole interaction that is vital to many applications.

Abstract
We report on the production of ultracold heteronuclear NaCs* molecules in a dual-species magneto-optical trap through photoassociation. The electronically excited molecules are formed below the Na (3S1/2) + Cs (6P1/2) dissociation limit. 12 resonance lines are detected using trap-loss spectroscopy based on a highly sensitive modulation technique. The highest observed rovibrational level exhibits clear hyperfine structure, which is detected for the first time. This structure is simulated within a simplified model consisting of 4 coupled levels belonging to the initially unperturbed Hund's case "a" electronic states, which have been explored in our previous work that dealt with the Na (3S1/2) + Cs (6P3/2) asymptote [W. Liu et al., Phys. Rev. A 94, 032518 (2016)].

Abstract
We investigate the dynamical process of optically trapped X1Σ+ (v'' = 0) state 85Rb133Cs molecules distributed in J'' = 1 and J'' = 3 rotational states. The considered molecules, formed from short-range photoassociation of mixed cold atoms, are subsequently confined in a crossed optical dipole trap. Based on a phenomenological rate equation, we provide a detailed study of the dynamics of 85Rb133Cs molecules during the loading and holding processes. The inelastic collisions of 85Rb133Cs molecules in the X1Σ+ (v'' = 0, J'' = 1 and J'' = 3) states with ultracold 85Rb (or 133Cs) atoms are measured to be 1.0 (2) × 10-10 cm3 s-1 (1.2 (3) × 10-10 cm3 s-1). Our work provides a simple and generic procedure for studying the dynamical process of trapped cold molecules in the singlet ground states.

Abstract
We create fermionic dipolar ^{23}Na^{6}Li molecules in their triplet ground state from an ultracold mixture of ^{23}Na and ^{6}Li. Using magnetoassociation across a narrow Feshbach resonance followed by a two-photon stimulated Raman adiabatic passage to the triplet ground state, we produce 3×10^{4} ground state molecules in a spin-polarized state. We observe a lifetime of 4.6 s in an isolated molecular sample, approaching the p-wave universal rate limit. Electron spin resonance spectroscopy of the triplet state was used to determine the hyperfine structure of this previously unobserved molecular state.

Abstract
We report our spectroscopic studies of the d 3Π state of ultra-cold 7Li85Rb using resonantly enhanced multi-photon ionization and depletion spectroscopy with bound-to-bound transitions originating from the metastable a 3Σ+ state. We evaluate the potential of this state for use as the intermediate state in a stimulated-Raman-adiabatic-passage transfer scheme from triplet Feshbach LiRb molecules to the X 1Σ+ ground state and find that the lowest several vibrational levels possess the requisite overlap with initial and final states, as well as convenient energies. Using depletion measurements, we measured the well depth and spin-orbit splitting. We suggest possible pathways for short-range photoassociation using deeply bound vibrational levels of this electronic state.

Abstract
The desorption dynamics of rubidium dimers (Rb2) off the surface of helium nanodroplets induced by laser excitation is studied by employing both nanosecond and femtosecond ion imaging spectroscopy. Similarly to alkali metal atoms, we find that the Rb2 desorption process resembles the dissociation of a diatomic molecule. However, both angular and energy distributions of detected Rb2+ ions appear to be most crucially determined by the Rb2 intramolecular degrees of freedom rather than by those of the Rb2HeN complex. The pump-probe dynamics of Rb2+ is found to be slower than that of Rb+, pointing at a weaker effective guest-host repulsion for excited molecules than for single atoms.

Abstract
We report on the observation of three RbCs satellite bands in the blue and green ranges of the visible spectrum. Absorption measurements are performed using all-sapphire cell filled with a mixture of Rb and Cs. We compare high resolution absorption spectrum of Rb-Cs vapor mixture with pure Rb and Cs vapor spectra from the literature. After detailed analysis, the new satellite bands of RbCs molecule at 418.3 nm, 468.3, and 527.5 nm are identified. The origin of these bands is discussed by direct comparison with difference potentials derived from quantum chemistry calculations of RbCs potential energy curves. These bands originate from the lower Rydberg states of the RbCs molecule. This study thus provides further insight into photoassociation of lower Rydberg molecular states, approximately between Cs(7s) + Rb(5s) and Cs(6s) + Rb(6p) asymptotes, in ultracold gases.

Abstract
We report the successful production of an ultracold sample of absolute ground-state ^{23}Na^{87}Rb molecules. Starting from weakly bound Feshbach molecules formed via magnetoassociation, the lowest rovibrational and hyperfine level of the electronic ground state is populated following a high-efficiency and high-resolution two-photon Raman process. The high-purity absolute ground-state samples have up to 8000 molecules and densities of over 10^{11} cm^{-3}. By measuring the Stark shifts induced by external electric fields, we determined the permanent electric dipole moment of the absolute ground-state ^{23}Na^{87}Rb and demonstrated the capability of inducing an effective dipole moment over 1 D. Bimolecular reaction between ground-state ^{23}Na^{87}Rb molecules is endothermic, but we still observed a rather fast decay of the molecular sample. Our results pave the way toward investigation of ultracold molecular collisions in a fully controlled manner and possibly to quantum gases of ultracold bosonic molecules with strong dipolar interactions.

Abstract
We present a dual-species effusive source and Zeeman slower designed to produce slow atomic beams of two elements with a large mass difference and with very different oven temperature requirements. We demonstrate this design for the case of (6)Li and (85)Rb and achieve magneto-optical trap (MOT) loading rates equivalent to that reported in prior work on dual species (Rb+Li) Zeeman slowers operating at the same oven temperatures. Key design choices, including thermally separating the effusive sources and using a segmented coil design to enable computer control of the magnetic field profile, ensure that the apparatus can be easily modified to slow other atomic species. By performing the final slowing using the quadrupole magnetic field of the MOT, we are able to shorten our Zeeman slower length making for a more compact system without compromising performance. We outline the construction and analyze the emission properties of our effusive sources. We also verify the performance of the source and slower, and we observe sequential loading rates of 12 × 10(8) atoms/s for a Rb oven temperature of 140 °C and 1.1 × 10(8) atoms/s for a Li reservoir at 460 °C, corresponding to reservoir lifetimes for continuous operation of 10 and 4 years, respectively.

Abstract
The analytic potential energy functions (APEFs) of the X(1)Σ(+), 2(1)Σ(+), a(3)Σ(+), and 2(3)Σ(+) states of the LiRb molecule are obtained using Morse long-range potential energy function with damping function and nonlinear least-squares method. These calculations were based on the potential energy curves (PECs) calculated using the multi-reference configuration interaction (MRCI) method. The reliability of the APEFs is confirmed using the curves of their first and second derivatives. By using the obtained APEFs, the rotational and vibrational energy levels of the states are determined by solving the Schrödinger equation of nuclear movement. The spectroscopic parameters, which are deduced using Dunham expansion, and the obtained rotational and vibrational levels are compared with the reported theoretical and experimental values. The correlation effect of the electrons of the inner shell remarkably improves the results compared with the experimental spectroscopic parameters. For the first time, the APEFs for the dipole moments and transition dipole moments of the states have been determined based on the curves obtained from the MRCI calculations.

Abstract
We present the formation of ultracold (85)Rb(133)Cs molecules in the (5)0(+) electronic state by photoassociation and their detection via resonance-enhanced two-photon ionization. Up to v = 47 vibrational levels including the lowest v = 0 vibrational and lowest J = 0 levels are identified with rotationally resolved high resolution photoassociation spectra. Precise Dunham coefficients are determined for the (5)0(+) state with high accuracy, then the Rydberg-Klein-Rees potential energy curve is derived. The electric dipole moments with respect to the vibrational numbers of the (5)0(+) electronic state of (85)Rb(133)Cs molecule are also measured in the range between 1.9 and 4.8 D. These comprehensive studies on previously unobserved rovibrational levels of the (5)0(+) state are helpful to understand the molecular structure and discover suitable transition pathways for transferring ultracold atoms to deeply bound rovibrational levels of the electronic ground state.

Abstract
We have calculated the isotropic C6 coefficients characterizing the long-range van der Waals interaction between two identical heteronuclear alkali-metal diatomic molecules in the same arbitrary vibrational level of their ground electronic state X(1)Σ(+). We consider the ten species made up of (7)Li, (23)Na, (39)K, (87)Rb, and (133)Cs. Following our previous work [Lepers et al., Phys. Rev. A 88, 032709 (2013)], we use the sum-over-state formula inherent to the second-order perturbation theory, composed of the contributions from the transitions within the ground state levels, from the transition between ground-state and excited state levels, and from a crossed term. These calculations involve a combination of experimental and quantum-chemical data for potential energy curves and transition dipole moments. We also investigate the case where the two molecules are in different vibrational levels and we show that the Moelwyn-Hughes approximation is valid provided that it is applied for each of the three contributions to the sum-over-state formula. Our results are particularly relevant in the context of inelastic and reactive collisions between ultracold bialkali molecules in deeply bound or in Feshbach levels.

Abstract
We present high resolution photoassociation spectroscopy of RbCs molecules in (2)0(+) long-range state below the Rb(5S1/2) + Cs(6P1/2) asymptote and derive the corresponding C6 coefficient, which is used to revise the potential energy curves. The excited state molecules are produced in a dual-species dark spontaneous force optical trap and detected by ionizing ground state molecules after spontaneous decay, using a high sensitive time-of-flight mass spectrum. With the help of resonance-enhanced two-photon ionization technique, we obtain considerable high resolution photoassociation spectrum with rovibrational states, some of which have never been observed before. By applying the LeRoy-Bernstein method, we assign the vibrational quantum numbers and deduce C6 coefficient, which agrees with the theoretical value of A(1)Σ(+) state correlated to Rb(5S1/2) + Cs(6P1/2) asymptote. The obtained C6 coefficient is used to revise the long-range potential energy curve for (2)0(+) state, which possesses unique A - b mixing characteristic and can be a good candidate for the production of absolutely ground state molecule.

Abstract
Ab initio techniques have been applied to investigate the electronic structure of the LiYb molecule. The potential energy curves have been computed in the Born-Oppenheimer approximation for the ground and 29 low-lying doublet and quartet excited electronic states. Complete active space self-consistent field, multi-reference configuration interaction, and Rayleigh Schrödinger perturbation theory to second order calculations have been utilized to investigate these states. The spectroscopic constants, ωe, Re, Be, …, and the static dipole moment, μ, have been investigated by using the two different techniques of calculation with five different types of basis. The eigenvalues, Ev, the rotational constant, Bv, the centrifugal distortion constant, Dv, and the abscissas of the turning points, Rmin and Rmax, have been calculated by using the canonical functions approach. The comparison between the values of the present work, calculated by different techniques, and those available in the literature for several electronic states shows a very good agreement. Twenty-one new electronic states have been studied here for the first time.

Abstract
We report the creation of a sample of over 1000 ultracold ^{87}Rb^{133}Cs molecules in the lowest rovibrational ground state, from an atomic mixture of ^{87}Rb and ^{133}Cs, by magnetoassociation on an interspecies Feshbach resonance followed by stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP). We measure the binding energy of the RbCs molecule to be hc×3811.576(1) cm^{-1} and the |v^{''}=0,J^{''}=0⟩ to |v^{''}=0,J^{''}=2⟩ splitting to be h×2940.09(6) MHz. Stark spectroscopy of the rovibrational ground state yields an electric dipole moment of 1.225(3)(8) D, where the values in parentheses are the statistical and systematic uncertainties, respectively. We can access a space-fixed dipole moment of 0.355(2)(4) D, which is substantially higher than in previous work.

Abstract
We produce ultracold dense trapped samples of ^{87}Rb^{133}Cs molecules in their rovibrational ground state, with full nuclear hyperfine state control, by stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) with efficiencies of 90%. We observe the onset of hyperfine-changing collisions when the magnetic field is ramped so that the molecules are no longer in the hyperfine ground state. A strong quadratic shift of the transition frequencies as a function of applied electric field shows the strongly dipolar character of the RbCs ground-state molecule. Our results open up the prospect of realizing stable bosonic dipolar quantum gases with ultracold molecules.

Abstract
The adiabatic and diabatic potential energy curves of the low-lying electronic states of the NaCs molecule dissociating into Na (3s, 3p) + Cs (6s, 6p, 5d, 7s, 7p, 6d, 8s, 4f) have been investigated. The molecular calculations are performed using an ab initio approach based on nonempirical pseudopotential, parametrized l-dependent polarization potentials and full configuration interaction calculations through the CIPCI quantum chemistry package. The derived spectroscopic constants (Re, De, Te, ωe, ωexe, and Be) of the ground state and lower excited states are compared with the available theoretical and experimental works. Moreover, accurate permanent and transition dipole moment have been determined as a function of the internuclear distance. The adiabatic permanent dipole moment for the first nine (1)Σ(+) electronic states have shown both ionic characters associated with electron transfer related to Cs(+)Na(-) and Cs(-)Na(+) arrangements. By a simple rotation, the diabatic permanent dipole moment is determined and has revealed a linear behavior, particularly at intermediate and large distances. Many peaks around the avoided crossing locations have been observed for the transition dipole moment between neighbor electronic states.

Abstract
We calculate the potential energy curves, the permanent dipole moment curves, and the lifetimes of the ground and excited vibrational states of the heteronuclear alkali dimers XY (X, Y = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs) in the X(1)Σ(+) electronic state using the coupled cluster with singles doubles and triples method. All-electron quadruple-ζ basis sets with additional core functions are used for Li and Na, and small-core relativistic effective core potentials with quadruple-ζ quality basis sets are used for K, Rb, and Cs. The inclusion of the coupled cluster non-perturbative triple excitations is shown to be crucial for obtaining the accurate potential energy curves. A large one-electron basis set with additional core functions is needed for the accurate prediction of permanent dipole moments. The dissociation energies are overestimated by only 14 cm(-1) for LiNa and by no more than 114 cm(-1) for the other molecules. The discrepancies between the experimental and calculated harmonic vibrational frequencies are less than 1.7 cm(-1), and the discrepancies for the anharmonic correction are less than 0.1 cm(-1). We show that correlation between atomic electronegativity differences and permanent dipole moment of heteronuclear alkali dimers is not perfect. To obtain the vibrational energies and wave functions the vibrational Schrödinger equation is solved with the B-spline basis set method. The transition dipole moments between all vibrational states, the Einstein coefficients, and the lifetimes of the vibrational states are calculated. We analyze the decay rates of the vibrational states in terms of spontaneous emission, and stimulated emission and absorption induced by black body radiation. In all studied heteronuclear alkali dimers the ground vibrational states have much longer lifetimes than any excited states.
