Abstract
In the present work the two new Cu(II) complexes, (µ-acetato)-bis(2,2'-bipyridine)-copper [Cu(bpy)2(CH3CO2)] and bromidotetrakis(2-methyl-1H-imidazole)-copper bromide [Cu(2-methylimid)4Br]Br have been synthesized by liquid assisted mechanochemical method. The [Cu(bpy)2(CH3CO2)] complex (1) and [Cu(2-methylimid)4Br]Br complex (2) characterised by IR and UV-visible spectroscopy and the structure are confirmed by XRD diffraction studies. Complex (1) crystallized in the Monoclinic with the space group of C2/c where a = 24.312(5) Å, b = 8.5892(18) Å, c = 14.559(3) Å, α = 90°, β = 106.177(7)° and γ = 90° and Complex (2) crystallized in the Tetragonal with the space group of P4nc, a = 9.9259(2) Å, b = 9.9259(2) Å, c = 10.9357(2) Å, α = 90°, β = 90° and γ = 90°. The complex (1) has distorted octahedral geometry where the acetate ligand showed bidentate bridging with the central metal ion and complex (2) has slightly deformed square pyramidal geometry. The HOMO-LUMO energy gap value and the low chemical potential showed that the complex (2) is stable and difficult to polarize compare to complex (1). The molecular docking study of complexes with the HIV instasome nucleoprotein showed the binding energy values - 7.1 and - 5.3 kcal/mol for complex (1) and complex (2) respectively. The negative binding energy values showed the complexes have affinity to bind with HIV instasome nucleoproteins. The in-silico pharmacokinetic study of the complex (1) and complex (2) showed non AMES toxicity, non-carcinogens and low honey Bee toxicity but weakly inhibit Human Ether-a-go-go-related gene.

Abstract
Herein we describe the synthesis of Cu2+ sensor, 2,2'-((1E,1'E)-((4-chloro-1,2-phenylene)bis(azaneylylidene))bis(methane-ylylidene))bis(4-bromophenol) (CPMB) and characterization using various spectral and analytical techniques. CPMB exhibited high selectivity towards Cu2+ ions via fluorescence quenching mechanism, which combined the character of high selectivity towards Cu2+ assay even in the presence of other common metal ions such as Cu2+, Al3+, Co2+, Ni2+, Mn2+, Zn2+ Pb2+ Cd2+, Fe2+, Hg2+, Mg2+ and Fe3+ (30 μM) ethanol-water (1:9 v/v) system. Upon the addition of the solution of Cu2+ ions to CPMB, the complexation of Cu2+ with CPMB leads to the immediate formation of light green color, indicating that CPMB can act as simple colorimetric sensor, particularly for Cu2+ in the presence of most interfering metal ions in ethanol-water medium. More interestingly, the ability of sensing behavior of CPMB for Cu2+ ion in the real water samples (tap water and lake water samples) was also investigated. Further, Job's plot confirmed that the complexation occurred in 1:1 ratio (ligand:metal). Furthermore, the fluorescence inhibiting factor showed a good linear relationship with the concentration of Cu2+ with detection limit of 0.302 μM. The electronic transitions of the complex in ethanol were studied using DFT calculations.

Abstract
Novel three nickel(II) complexes of type [Ni(metf)(o-phen)2]Cl2 (1), [Ni(metf)(opda)2]Cl2 (2), [Ni(metf)(2-2'bipy)2]Cl2 (3), (Metf = metformin, o-phen = ortho-phenanthroline, opda = ortho-phenylenediamine, 2-2' bipy = 2-2' bipyridyl) were synthesized and characterized by various analytical and spectral techniques. Based on these studies, octahedral geometry is assigned to these complexes. The DNA binding properties of these complexes were investigated by absorption, emission, and viscosity studies. From the spectral data, it was concluded that the complexes bind to DNA through groove mode of binding. The intrinsic binding constants (Kb) from absorption spectroscopy were 1.60 × 104, 3.57 × 104, and 5.70 × 104 M-1 for 1, 2, and 3, respectively, and Stern-Volmer quenching constants (Ksv) from emission spectroscopy were 0.11, 0.87, and 0.24, respectively. Thermal degradation pattern of the compounds was studied and Coats-Redfern method is used to determine kinetic parameters for complexes 1, 2, and 3 from thermal studies. The software Discovery Studio 2.1 was used to assess the binding affinity and interaction pattern of complexes with the B-DNA receptor protein and complex 1 has the highest dock score.

Abstract
Schiff base ligands were synthesised in this work, the first is (Z)-2-((Z)-3-((1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)imino)-1,3-diphenylpropylidene) hydrazine-1-carboxamide, the second is (Z)-2-((1E,5Z,6E)-5-((1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)imino)-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hepta-1,6-dien-3-ylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide. The Schiff base ligands both were synthesised using the same method (the single pot reaction), using EtOH as the reaction medium and GAA as the catalyst in fixed temperature at 70 0C and reflux for 6 hrs. The starting materials of HL1 were semicarbazide,4-aminoantipyrine and dibenzoyl methane, while the starting materials of HL2 were TSC, 4-AAP and Curcumin. The ligands proved to be bi-dentate ligands that coordinate from the azomethane groups. FT-IR, U.V-Visible, 1H and 13C- NMR, molar conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility were used to identify all the compounds produced. The metal ions used in preparing the complexes in this work were Co(II), Cu(II) and Cr(III). Schiff base and its complexes were evaluated for antibacterial activity against four bacterial strains of Gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus Subtilis) and two types of fungi (Candida albicans and Rhizopus Sporium), the results were positive for all compounds tested.
