Abstract
In this review I summarize the current state of knowledge about the composition of Titan's atmosphere and our current understanding of the suggested chemistry that leads to that observed composition. I begin with our present knowledge of the atmospheric composition, garnered from a variety of measurements including Cassini-Huygens, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, and other ground- and space-based telescopes. This review focuses on the typical vertical profiles of gases at low latitudes rather than global and temporal variations. The main body of the review presents a chemical description of how complex molecules are believed to arise from simpler species, considering all known "stable" molecules-those that have been uniquely identified in the neutral atmosphere. The last section of the review is devoted to the gaps in our present knowledge of Titan's chemical composition and how further work may fill those gaps.

Abstract
Photodissociation studies in molecular beams that employ position-sensitive particle detection to map product recoil velocities emerged thirty years ago and continue to evolve with new laser and detector technologies. These powerful methods allow application of tunable laser detection of single product quantum states, simultaneous measurement of velocity and angular momentum polarization, measurement of joint product state distributions for the detected and undetected products, coincident detection of multiple product channels, and application to radicals and ions as well as closed-shell molecules. These studies have permitted deep investigation of photochemical dynamics for a broad range of systems, revealed new reaction mechanisms, and addressed problems of practical importance in atmospheric, combustion, and interstellar chemistry. This review presents an historical overview, a detailed technical account of the range of methods employed, and selected experimental highlights illustrating the capabilities of the method.

Abstract
New photoelectron spectra (PES) and ultra violet (UV) and vacuum UV (VUV) absorption spectra of fluorobenzene recorded at higher resolution than previously, have been combined with mass-resolved (2 + 1) and (3 + 1) resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectra; this has led to the identification of numerous Rydberg states. The PES have been compared with earlier mass-analyzed threshold ionization and photoinduced Rydberg ionization (PIRI) spectra to give an overall picture of the ionic state sequence. The analysis of these spectra using both equations of motion with coupled cluster singles and doubles (EOM-CCSD) configuration interaction and time dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations have been combined with vibrational analysis of both the hot and cold bands of the spectra, in considerable detail. The results extend several earlier studies on the vibronic coupling leading to conical intersections between the X(2)B1 and A(2)A2 states, and a further trio (B, C, and D) of states. The conical intersection of the X and A states has been explicitly identified, and its structure and energetics evaluated. The energy sequence of the last group is only acceptable to the present study if given as B(2)B2<C(2)B1<D(2)A1, a conclusion which is in agreement with most previous EOM-CCSD and other calculations. However, this symmetry ordering of the B and C states forces reconsideration of the nature of the PIRI spectrum. The coupling between these two states is induced by the a2 modes, ν12 and ν14 and we propose that the 14(1) band is observed in the B(2)B2 band in the PES for the first time, because of the improved resolution. This same assignment is given to the lowest energy band in the PIRI spectrum which was previously assigned as the origin band and further conclude that the entire PIRI spectrum is induced by ν12 and ν14. The relative intensities of the various Rydberg state peaks in the VUV absorption and REMPI spectra of fluorobenzene are very similar to those observed in the equivalent spectra of benzene.

Abstract
The theoretical prediction and experimental confirmation of the 1πσ* repulsive excited state along O-H bond of phenol have large impact on the interpretation of phenol and tyrosine photochemistry. In this work, we investigated the photodissociation dynamics of 2-, 3-, and 4-methoxybenzoic acid (MOBA) in a molecular beam at 193 nm using multimass ion imaging techniques. In addition, the ground state and the excited state potential energy surfaces of MOBA were investigated using ab initio calculations, and branching ratios were predicted by Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus theory. The results show that (1) the excited state potential of 1πσ* along O-CH(3) bond remains similar to that of phenol and anisole, (2) CH(3) elimination is the major channel for three MOBA isomers, and (3) photofragment translational energy distributions show bimodal distributions, representing the dissociation on the ground state and repulsive excited state, respectively. Comparison to the study of hydroxbenzoic acid [Y. L. Yang, Y. A. Dyakov, Y. T. Lee, C. K. Ni, Y. L. Sun, and W. P. Hu, J. Chem. Phys. 134, 034314 (2011)] shows that only the intramolecular hydrogen bonding has significant effects on the excited state dynamics of phenol chromophores.

Abstract
The experimental technique of velocity map imaging (VMI) enables measurements to be made of the dynamics of chemical reactions that are providing unprecedented insights about reactive scattering. This perspective article illustrates how VMI, in combination with crossed-molecular beam, dual-beam or photo-initiated (Photoloc) methods, can reveal correlated information on the vibrational quantum states populated in the two products of a reaction, and the angular scattering of products (the differential cross section) formed in specific rotational and vibrational levels. Reactions studied by VMI techniques are being extended to those of polyatomic molecules or radicals, and of molecular ions. Subtle quantum-mechanical effects in bimolecular reactions can provide distinct signatures in the velocity map images, and are exemplified here by non-adiabatic dynamics on coupled potential energy surfaces, and by experimental evidence for scattering resonances.

Abstract
The photodissociation dynamics of various aromatic molecules, studied using multimass ion imaging techniques, is reviewed. The experimental data reveals new isomerization and dissociation mechanisms. Our investigation of benzene, pyridine, and pyrimidine finds that H-atom elimination thresholds remain the same for the three molecules. We also notice that ring-opening dissociation thresholds decrease rapidly with the increase of the number of nitrogen atoms in the aromatic ring. Hydrogen atom elimination is the sole dissociation channel for benzene at 193 nm. Along with H-atom elimination, we observe five distinct ring-opening dissociation channels for pyridine at 193 nm. No dissociation channels were observed for benzene and pyridine at 248 nm. Ring-opening dissociation channels are the major channels for pyrimidine, which dissociates at 193 nm and also at 248 nm. A six-membered to seven-membered ring isomerization was observed for photodissociation processes involving toluene, m-xylene, aniline, 4-methylpyridine, alpha-fluorotoluene, and 4-fluorotoluene, indicating a general isomerization mechanism for all such aromatic molecules. What is significant, is that during the isomerization, atoms (i.e., carbon, nitrogen, fluorine, and hydrogen) belonging to respective alkyl or amino groups are involved in an exchange with atoms within the aromatic ring. This type of isomerization is not observed in other aromatic isomerization mechanisms. For small tyrosine chromophores, such as phenol, 4-methylphenol, and 4-ethylphenol, H-atom elimination from a repulsive excited state plays a key role. However, dissociation is quenched in large chromophores like 4-(2-aminoethyl)-phenol. Our work demonstrates the capability and high sensitivity of multimass ion imaging techniques in the study of aromatic compounds.

Abstract
Photodissociation of 3-(methylthio)propylamine and cysteamine, the chromophores of S atom containing amino acid methionine and cysteine, respectively, was studied separately in a molecular beam at 193 nm using multimass ion imaging techniques. Four dissociation channels were observed for 3-(methylthio)propylamine, including (1) CH(3)SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->CH(3)SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH+H, (2) CH(3)SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->CH(3)+SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2), (3) CH(3)SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->CH(3)S+CH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2), and (4) CH(3)SCH(2)CH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->CH(3)SCH(2)+CH(2)CH(2)NH(2). Two dissociation channels were observed from cysteamine, including (5) HSCH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->HS+CH(2)CH(2)NH(2) and (6) HSCH(2)CH(2)NH(2)-->HSCH(2)+CH(2)NH(2). The photofragment translational energy distributions suggest that reaction (1) and parts of the reactions (2), (3), (5) occur on the repulsive excited states. However, reaction (4), (6) occur only after the internal conversion to the electronic ground state. Since the dissociation from an excited state with a repulsive potential energy surface is very fast, it would not be quenched completely even in the condensed phase. Our results indicate that reactions following dissociation may play an important role in the UV photochemistry of S atom containing amino acid chromophores in the condensed phase. A comparison with the potential energy surface from ab initio calculations and branching ratios from RRKM calculations was made.

Abstract
Photodissociation dynamics for various tryptophan chromophores was studied at 193 or 248 nm using multimass ion imaging techniques. The competition between internal conversion to the ground electronic state and dissociation from the repulsive excited state reveals size-dependent photostability for these amino acid chromophores. As the size of chromophore increases, internal conversion to the ground state becomes the major nonradiative process. For tryptophan and larger chromophores, dissociation directly from the repulsive state is completely quenched.

Abstract
The photodissociation of jet-cooled alpha-fluorotoluene and 4-fluorotoluene at 193 and 248 nm was studied using vacuum ultraviolet (vuv) photoionization/multimass ion imaging techniques as well as electron impact ionization/photofragment translational spectroscopy. Four dissociation channels were observed for alpha-fluorotoluene at both 193 and 248 nm, including two major channels C6H5CH2F-->C6H5CH2 (or C7H7)+F and C6H5CH2F-->C6H5CH (or C7H6)+HF and two minor channels C6H5CH2F-->C6H5CHF+H and C6H5CH2F-->C6H5+CH2F. The vuv wavelength dependence of the C7H7 fragment photoionization spectra indicates that at least part of the F atom elimination channel results from the isomerization of alpha-fluorotoluene to a seven-membered ring prior to dissociation. Dissociation channels of 4-fluorotoluene at 193 nm include two major channels C6H4FCH3-->C6H4FCH2+H and C6H4FCH3-->C6H4F+CH3 and two minor channels C6H4FCH3-->C6H5CH2 (or C7H7)+F and C6H4FCH3-->C6H5CH (or C7H6)+HF. The dissociation rates for alpha-fluorotoluene at 193 and 248 nm are 3.3 x 10(7) and 5.6 x 10(5) s(-1), respectively. The dissociation rate for 4-fluorotoluene at 193 nm is 1.0 x 10(6) s(-1). An ab initio calculation demonstrates that the barrier height for isomerization from alpha-fluorotoluene to a seven-membered ring isomer is much lower than that from 4-fluorotoluene to a seven-membered ring isomer. The experimental observed differences of dissociation rates and relative branching ratios between alpha-fluorotoluene and 4-fluorotoluene may be explained by the differences in the six-membered ring to seven-membered ring isomerization barrier heights, F atom elimination threshold, and HF elimination threshold between alpha-fluorotoluene and 4-fluorotoluene.
