Abstract
Purpose Cancer-related fatigue is a prevalent issue affecting 50-90% of cancer patients who experience fatigue at diagnosis, during therapy, and often for months or years after the completion of therapy. This study aimed to explore the prevalence of cancer-related fatigue, associated factors, and adult cancer patients' experiences at Hawassa University Comprehensive Specialized Hospital in Ethiopia. Methods A mixed-method study was conducted from February 25 to May 15, 2023, via cross-sectional descriptive and phenomenological approaches. The validated Amharic Brief Fatigue Inventory scale and semistructured interview guide were used. The data were processed via Epi-data version 4.4.3.1 and SPSS version 24, with logistic regression analysis. The interview records and field notes were transcribed and translated from Amharic to English and then analysed thematically. Results All participants (100%) completed the study, with 77.4% reporting significant fatigue. Fatigue was strongly associated with uninsured medical expenses (P = 0.008, OR = 3.22), late-stage cancer (P = 0.000, OR = 6.11), anaemia (P = 0.009, OR = 3.71), and comorbidities (P = 0.000, OR = 7.22). From the in-depth interviews with 16 participants, two main themes emerged: financial strain (giving up basics, and inability to work) and disease progression (intensified symptoms, increased treatment side effects, and managing multiple conditions). Conclusion This study revealed that 77.4% of cancer patients experience significant fatigue, which is linked to a lack of medical insurance, late-stage cancer, anaemia, and comorbid conditions. Financial strain limits access to care, whereas disease progression and managing multiple conditions intensify fatigue. Early intervention, financial support, and integrated care are crucial for reducing fatigue and improving quality of life. Future research should focus on multicentre and longitudinal studies to improve generalizability and track fatigue progression over time.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Long-term childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors (CAYACS) are at risk of fatigue and psychological problems. However, their interactions remain largely unexplored. Understanding how they cluster can inform treatment and person-centered follow-up care. We aimed to identify and describe profiles of co-occurring fatigue and psychological symptoms and investigate their associations with health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in CAYACS. METHODS NOR-CAYACS (The Norwegian Childhood, Adolescents and Young Adult Cancer Survivors study) was a nationwide survey involving adult survivors of any childhood cancer (aged < 19 years at diagnosis) and selected young adult cancers (breast and colorectal cancers, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, leukemias, and malignant melanomas, aged 19-39 years at diagnosis) identified through the Cancer Registry of Norway. We included 1893 survivors aged ≥ 18 years, ≥ 5 years since diagnosis. We performed latent profile analysis with six continuous outcomes: physical and mental fatigue, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress symptoms, and fear of recurrence. RESULTS We identified an overall "Low" (64%), a "Moderate fatigue/high anxiety" (18%), a "High fatigue/moderate distress" (13%), and an overall "High" (5%) symptom burden profile. The "High" profile exhibited lowest physical- and mental-HRQOL with T-scores -9.8 (95% confidence interval [95% CI]: -12.5, -7.1) and -25.0 (95% CI: -26.7, -23.3) compared to the "Low" profile. CONCLUSION We identified four profiles, two characterized by high fatigue and two near normative fatigue levels, each with different psychological symptom burden. Greater symptom burden corresponded to lower HRQOL, with high fatigue profiles showing lower physical HRQOL. These profiles help identify at-risk individuals and allow for targeting interventions and follow-up care to survivors' unique constellation of symptoms.

Abstract
PURPOSE To examine health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and supportive care needs among young adult (YA) cancer survivors up to 3 years post-diagnosis. METHODS A national cohort of individuals diagnosed at 18-39 years with breast, cervical, ovarian, or testicular cancer, lymphoma or brain tumor was approached with surveys at 1.5 (n = 1010, response rate 67%) and 3 (n = 722) years post-diagnosis. HRQoL was measured using the EORTC QLQ-C30. Scores were dichotomized using cut-off scores to predict supportive care needs in the Supportive Care Needs Survey-Long Form 59 (SCNS-LF59). Swedish cancer quality registers provided clinical data. Factors predicting need of support at 1.5 and 3 years post-diagnosis were identified using logistic regression. RESULTS HRQoL improvements over time were trivial to small. At both time points, a majority of respondents rated HRQoL levels indicating supportive care needs. At 1.5 years post-diagnosis, the risk of having support needs was lower among survivors with testicular cancer (compared to lymphoma) or university-level education, and higher among those on treatment (predominantly endocrine therapy). At 3 years post-diagnosis, when controlling for previous HRQoL scores, most correlations persisted, and poor self-rated household economy and chronic health conditions were additionally associated with supportive care needs. CONCLUSION A majority of YAs diagnosed with cancer rate HRQoL at levels indicating support needs up to 3 years post-diagnosis. Testicular cancer survivors are at lower risk of having support needs. Concurrent health conditions and poor finances are linked to lower HRQoL. More efforts are needed to provide adequate, age-appropriate support to YA cancer survivors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cancer-related fatigue is a common and distressing late effect of cancer that can persist for decades after treatment completion. Although negatively affecting survivors' quality of life, few, if any, efficacious interventions for persistent, or chronic, fatigue exist. AIMS To inform future interventions, we explored how long-term, young adult cancer survivors (YACSs) with chronic fatigue live with, and manage their fatigue over time, including their experiences with nonpharmacological interventions (NPIs) for chronic fatigue. METHODS AND RESULTS We conducted a qualitative focus group study with 15 YACSs (13 women) with chronic fatigue, on average 7.3 years post-diagnosis. The YACS were identified and recruited through a nationwide health survey of cancer survivors (the NOR-CAYACS study). Systematic content analysis was used to identify recurrent themes. Analysis revealed five themes: (1) manifestation of fatigue, detailing chronic fatigue experiences; (2) impact on daily life, highlighting the necessity to balance rest and activity, affecting relationships; (3) NPIs, where walks in nature were notably beneficial; (4) barriers to fatigue management, including energy deficits, treatment-related bodily changes, and self-care prioritization challenges; (5) facilitators to fatigue management, emphasizing the need for regular breaks, self-care practices, and the importance of fatigue management education. CONCLUSION This study offers novel insights into the lived experiences of YACSs with chronic fatigue, a subject scarcely examined in prior research. Our findings highlight the significant impact of chronic fatigue and the individualized strategies YACSs use to cope. The research emphasizes the need for personalized interventions to support chronic fatigue management, marking a critical step forward in addressing this often-overlooked issue in survivorship care. Future research should focus on tailored approaches to improve YACSs' quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The psychological burden of cutaneous malignant melanoma (CM) is all-encompassing, affecting treatment adherence, recurrence and mortality. However, the prevalence and risk factors of anxiety and depression in CM remain unclear. OBJECTIVES To establish a benchmark pooled prevalence of anxiety and depression in CM, to provide magnitudes of association for clinical, therapeutic and demographic correlates, and to elucidate temporal trends in anxiety and depression from the time of diagnosis. METHODS This review followed the MOOSE guidelines. MEDLINE, Embase, PsychINFO, Web of Science and the Cochrane Library were queried from database inception to 24 August 2023. Study selection, data extraction and quality assessment were performed by two independent authors, utilizing both the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and National Institutes of Health risk-of-bias tools for the latter. The GRADE approach was used to rate the certainty of evidence. Prevalence rates, 95% confidence intervals (CIs) and prediction intervals (PIs) were derived using a random-effects model and estimating between- and within-study variance. RESULTS Nine longitudinal and 29 cross-sectional studies were included (7995 patients). Based on the JBI and NIH tools, respectively, quality assessment found 20 and 17 to be at low risk of bias, 12 and 15 to be at moderate risk and 6 and 5 to be at high risk of bias. The prevalence of anxiety [30.6% (95% CI 24.6-37.0; PI 18-47%)] and depression [18.4% (95% CI 13.4-23.9; PI 10-33%)] peaked during treatment, declining to pretreatment levels after 1 year [anxiety: 48% vs. 20% (P = 0.005); depression: 28% vs. 13% (P = 0.03)]. Female sex [odds ratio (OR) 1.8, 95% CI 1.4-2.3; P < 0.001], age < 60 years (OR 1.5, 95% CI 1.2-2.0; P = 0.002) and low educational level (OR 1.5, 95% CI 1.2-2.0; P < 0.001) were likely to result in a large increase in the odds of anxiety. Depression was 12.3% higher in those with stage IV vs. those with stage I CM (P = 0.05). Relative to immune checkpoint inhibition, the rates of depression were 22% (P = 0.002) and 34% (P < 0.001) higher among patients with advanced-stage CM receiving interferon-α and chemotherapy, respectively. A significant reduction in self-reported depression scores was demonstrated over time (P = 0.003). CONCLUSIONS Notably, anxiety and depression in CM affect women, those younger than 60 years of age and the less educated, with up to 80% higher odds of anxiety in these groups. Anxiety and depression surge during chemotherapy and interferon treatment, especially in advanced CM. Our findings facilitate risk stratification and underscore the need for multidisciplinary vigilance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is lack of evidence on chronic fatigue (CF) following radiotherapy (RT) in survivors of head and neck cancer (HNC). We aimed to compare CF in HNC survivors > 5 years post-RT with a reference population and investigate factors associated with CF and the possible impact of CF on health-related quality of life (HRQoL). MATERIAL AND METHODS In this cross-sectional study we included HNC survivors treated in 2007-2013. Participants filled in patient-reported outcome measures and attended a one-day examination. CF was measured with the Fatigue Questionnaire and compared with a matched reference population using t-tests and Cohen's effect size. Associations between CF, clinical and RT-related factors were investigated using logistic regression. HRQoL was measured with the EORTC Quality of Life core questionnaire. RESULTS The median age of the 227 HNC survivors was 65 years and median time to follow-up was 8.5 years post-RT. CF was twice more prevalent in HNC survivors compared to a reference population. In multivariable analyses, female sex (OR 3.39, 95 % CI 1.82-6.31), comorbidity (OR 2.17, 95 % CI 1.20-3.94) and treatment with intensity-modulated RT (OR 2.13, 95 % CI 1.16-3.91) were associated with CF, while RT dose parameters were not. Survivors with CF compared to those without, had significantly worse HRQoL. CONCLUSIONS CF in HNC survivors is particularly important for female patients, while specific factors associated with RT appear not to play a role. The high CF prevalence in long-term HNC survivors associated with impaired HRQoL is important information beneficial for clinicians and patients to improve patient follow-up.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long-term breast cancer survivors (BCSs) may experience several late effects (LEs) simultaneously. This study aimed to identify subgroups of 8-year BCSs with higher burden of LEs who could benefit from closer survivorship care, explore variables associated with higher symptom burden, and describe how symptom burden may affect general functioning. METHODS All Norwegian women aged 20 to 65 years when diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer in 2011 and 2012 were invited (n = 2803). The European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire/BR23, the Fatigue Questionnaire, Assessment of Survivor Concerns, and Scale for Chemotherapy Induced Long-term Neurotoxicity were used to assess 10 common LEs and general functioning. Using latent class analysis, subgroups of BCSs with similar burden of LEs were identified. Multinominal regression analysis were performed to examine variables associated with higher symptom burden. RESULTS The final sample consisted of 1353 BCSs; 46% had low, 37% medium, and 17% high symptom burden. Younger age, short education, axillary dissection, higher systemic treatment burden, higher body mass index, and physical inactivity were associated with higher symptom burden. General functioning scores were lower, and the proportion on disability pension were higher among BCSs in the two most burdened subgroups compared with those in the low burden subgroup. CONCLUSION More than half of long-term BCSs suffered from medium or high symptom burden and experienced impaired general functioning compared with BCS with low symptom burden. Younger age and systemic treatment were important risk factors for higher symptom burden. BCSs at risk of higher symptom burdens should be identified and offered closer and extended survivorship care.

Abstract
PURPOSE Sexual health is an important aspect of quality of life. Knowledge concerning sexual health in long-term breast cancer survivors (BCSs) is limited. This study compared sexual health in BCSs 8 years after diagnosis with similarly aged controls and examined the impact of menopausal status at diagnosis and systemic breast cancer treatments on sexual health. METHODS Women aged 20-65 years when diagnosed with stage I-III breast cancer in 2011-2012 were identified by the Cancer Registry of Norway (n = 2803) and invited to participate in a nationwide survey. Controls were women from the Trøndelag Health Study (HUNT4). Sexual functioning and sexual enjoyment were measured by the EORTC QLQ-BR23 subscales scored from 0 to 100, and sexual discomfort by the Sexual Activity Questionnaire scored from 0 to 6. Linear regression analyses with adjustments for sociodemographic and health-related variables were performed to compare groups. Differences of ≥ 10% of range score were considered clinically significant. RESULTS The study samples consisted of 1241 BCSs and 17,751 controls. Sexual enjoyment was poorer (B - 13.1, 95%CI - 15.0, - 11.2) and discomfort higher (B 0.9, 95%CI 0.8, 1.0) among BCSs compared to controls, and larger differences were evident between premenopausal BCSs and controls (B - 17.3, 95%CI - 19.6, - 14.9 and B 1.2, 95%CI 1.0, 1.3, respectively). BCSs treated with both endocrine- and chemotherapy had lower sexual functioning (B - 11.9, 95%CI - 13.8, - 10.1), poorer sexual enjoyment (B - 18.1, 95%CI - 20.7, - 15.5), and more sexual discomfort (B 1.4, 95% 1.3, 1.6) than controls. CONCLUSION Sexual health impairments are more common in BCSs 8 years after diagnosis compared to similar aged population controls. During follow-up, attention to such impairments, especially among women diagnosed at premenopausal age and treated with heavy systemic treatment, is warranted.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Improved survival rates have made it increasingly important for clinicians to focus on cancer survivorship issues affecting the quality of life of melanoma patients. To provide a comprehensive overview of the disease and treatment-related issues affecting such patients, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature to estimate the prevalence of symptoms of depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleep disturbance, and cognitive problems among melanoma patients, both uveal and cutaneous, before, during and after treatment. METHODS The review was preregistered with PROSPERO (#CRD42020189847) and reported following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. A comprehensive search of the literature published up until June 2022 was undertaken using PubMed, PsycInfo, the Cochrane Library, and CINAHL. Two independent reviewers screened 1418 records and quality-rated included studies. The reported prevalence rates of symptoms were pooled using a random-effects model. RESULTS Sixty-six studies including a total of 12,400 melanoma patients published between 1992 and 2022 were included. Pooled prevalence rates ranged from 6% to 16% for depression and 7%-30% for anxiety across diagnoses (uveal and cutaneous melanoma) and assessment time points. One third of the patients (35%) reported clinically significant fatigue, 20%-44% had cognitive complaints, while prevalence of sleep disturbance was not reported. Quality assessment indicated that 80% of the studies were of good quality. CONCLUSION A large body of research shows that depression and anxiety symptoms are prevalent in melanoma patients before, during and after treatment. However, research examining other symptoms known to affect quality of life, such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, and cognitive problems, is still needed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Tailored management of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is important for effective coping; however, it has been hindered by the lack of a comprehensive tool that assesses both symptoms and treatable influencing factors. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The aim was to develop a cancer-related fatigue comprehensive assessment scale (CRF-CAS) and assess its psychometric properties. DESIGN This was a mixed-method study. METHODS The study included two phases which were conducted in Zhejiang Province, China. In phase one, a literature search, brainstorming sessions, Delphi studies, cognitive interviews and a pilot study were conducted to construct and revise CRF-CAS indicators. In phase two, a questionnaire-based survey was conducted among cancer survivors. Item analysis was used to select and optimize indicators. Cronbach's α was calculated for reliability analysis. Validity analysis included concurrent validity and structural validity. RESULTS A 93-item tool was initially constructed. Phase one ended with revision and optimization. The preliminary scale included five dimensions (CRF symptoms, physical activity, cognitive-emotional status, sleep status, nutritional status) and 30 items. The mean item-content validity index (I-CVI) and scale-level CVI universal agreement (S-CVI/UA) were .98, and the adjusted mean values of Kappa for indicators ranged from .91-1, as evaluated by the expert group. The Pearson correlation coefficient between the CRF-CAS and criterion scales ranged from .337-.862. Cronbach's α coefficient ranged from .624-.728. Respondents agreed that the scale was acceptable for administration and that it contributed to decision-making in fatigue management. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) indicated that the CRF-CAS fit well. CONCLUSIONS The construction process of the CRF-CAS, involving panel discussion and expert and participant evaluations, was shown to be scientific and feasible. The CRF-CAS had relatively good validity and reliability in version 5 of its preliminary scale, which requires further improvement in future studies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS A chronic feeling of fatigue occurs in up to 85% of childhood cancer survivors (CCS). This phenomenon has a detrimental effect on quality of life, reintegration in daily life activities and psychosocial functioning of the patient. Therefore, it is important to elucidate potential individual risk and protective factors. METHODS CCS who were treated in the University Hospital of Leuven, completed two annual questionnaires on cancer-related distress (fear of cancer recurrence and post-traumatic stress, resilience and fatigue). Associations between distress and fatigue levels were examined by performing cross-lagged panel analyses. Resilience was included as a potential moderator. These models included all within-time associations, stability paths, and cross-lagged paths. Gender and time since diagnosis were included as covariates. RESULTS In total, 110 CCS participated in this study, aged 14-25 years (average time since diagnosis 12.2 years; 41.8% boys; diagnosed with leukemia/lymphoma [49%], solid tumor [15%], brain tumor [16%] or other [20%]). Fear of cancer recurrence and post-traumatic stress at baseline positively predicted fatigue 1 year later. Cross-lagged panel analyses showed that resilience did not buffer the effect of fear of cancer recurrence on fatigue, in contrary to our expectations. Stability coefficients were high for all study variables. CONCLUSION This study indicates associations between cancer-related distress (fear of cancer recurrence and post-traumatic stress), resilience and cancer-related fatigue over time in CCS. Interventions to improve fatigue levels could be focusing on both tackling cancer-related distress, while improving resilience levels as well.

Abstract
The aims of this study are to describe health-related quality of life (HRQoL, SF-36) and fatigue in long-term indolent lymphoma survivors, compared to normative data, and to examine factors related to impaired HRQoL among the survivors. The participants (N = 136, median follow-up after first line therapy 9.8 years) were included from a follow-up study of two clinical trials, with chemo-free first-line therapy. The present survey included questionnaire based data. Compared to the normative data, the mean total fatigue score were higher, and HRQoL lower in 4 of 8 domains among the lymphoma survivors. Among the survivors, somatic comorbidities, not being in paid work and chronic fatigue were significantly associated with reduced physical HRQoL. Anxiety and depressive symptoms were associated with reduced mental HRQoL. Our findings highlight the need for awareness of HRQoL and fatigue in long term follow up in lymphoma survivors, as there are treatments and rehabilitation options.

Abstract
Experiencing pain and insufficient relief can be devastating and negatively affect a patient's quality of life. Developments in oncology such as new treatments and adjusted pain management guidelines may have influenced the prevalence of cancer pain and severity in patients. This review aims to provide an overview of the prevalence and severity of pain in cancer patients in the 2014-2021 literature period. A systematic literature search was performed using the databases PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, and Cochrane. Titles and abstracts were screened, and full texts were evaluated and assessed on methodological quality. A meta-analysis was performed on the pooled prevalence and severity rates. A meta-regression analysis was used to explore differences between treatment groups. We identified 10,637 studies, of which 444 studies were included. The overall prevalence of pain was 44.5%. Moderate to severe pain was experienced by 30.6% of the patients, a lower proportion compared to previous research. Pain experienced by cancer survivors was significantly lower compared to most treatment groups. Our results imply that both the prevalence of pain and pain severity declined in the past decade. Increased attention to the assessment and management of pain might have fostered the decline in the prevalence and severity of pain.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Fatigue is one of the most commonly and frequently reported symptoms by cancer patients. The cause of fatigue is multifactorial in origin, and its impact varies in range from affecting patients' daily social life, and physical, mental, economic, and social well-being to becoming a threat to their quality of life. Therefore every cancer patient needs to be screened for fatigue and considered as one of the vital signs. OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence of fatigue and associated factors among adult cancer patients, receiving cancer treatment at the oncology unit in Amhara region, Ethiopia, 2022. METHOD Institutional-based, cross-sectional study was conducted among adult cancer patients receiving cancer treatment from May 9th-June 8th, 2022. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select study participants. Data were entered into Epi data version 4.6 and then exported to the SPSS statistical package version 23 for further analysis. Both bivariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were carried out. P-values <0.05 in multivariable logistic regression were considered statistically significant. RESULTS The prevalence of cancer-related fatigue was 77.3% at 95% CI (73.1-81.1) with nonresponse rate of 1.97% (9). Poor social support (AOR = 3.62; 95% CI: 1.53-8.60), anxiety (AOR = 3.13; 95% CI: 1.54-6.36), physical inactivity (AOR = 3.67; 95% CI: 1.74-7.54), underweight (AOR = 2.03; 95% CI: 1.05-3.90), anemia (AOR = 2.01; 95% CI: 1.04-3.90), surgery as a treatment modality (AOR = 0.21; 95% CI: 0.06-0.78), combination therapy (AOR = 3.56; 95% CI: 1.68-7.54), treatment less than 3 cycle (AOR = 4.43; 95% CI: 1.53-12.80), and treatment 3-5 cycle (AOR = 3.55; 95% CI: 1.38-9.09) were significantly associated factors with cancer related fatigue. CONCLUSION Psychosocial assessment and intervention, nutritional support, early intervention of anemia, and promoting exercise are the key elements to minimizing fatigue among cancer patients.

Abstract
Similar to previous pandemics, COVID-19 has been succeeded by well-documented post-infectious sequelae, including chronic fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, myalgia, and concentration difficulties, which may last 5 to 12 weeks or longer after the acute phase of illness. Both the psychological stress of SARS-CoV-2 infection and being diagnosed with COVID-19 can upregulate cortisol, a stress hormone that disrupts the efferocytosis effectors, macrophages, and natural killer cells, leading to the excessive accumulation of senescent cells and disruption of biological barriers. This has been well-established in cancer patients who often experience unrelenting fatigue as well as gut and blood–brain barrier dysfunction upon treatment with senescence-inducing radiation or chemotherapy. In our previous research from 2020 and 2021, we linked COVID-19 to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) via angiotensin II upregulation, premature endothelial senescence, intestinal barrier dysfunction, and microbial translocation from the gastrointestinal tract into the systemic circulation. In 2021 and 2022, these hypotheses were validated and SARS-CoV-2-induced cellular senescence as well as microbial translocation were documented in both acute SARS-CoV-2 infection, long COVID, and ME/CFS, connecting intestinal barrier dysfunction to disabling fatigue and specific infectious events. The purpose of this narrative review is to summarize what is currently known about host immune responses to translocated gut microbes and how these responses relate to fatiguing illnesses, including long COVID. To accomplish this goal, we examine the role of intestinal and blood–brain barriers in long COVID and other illnesses typified by chronic fatigue, with a special emphasis on commensal microbes functioning as viral reservoirs. Furthermore, we discuss the role of SARS-CoV-2/Mycoplasma coinfection in dysfunctional efferocytosis, emphasizing some potential novel treatment strategies, including the use of senotherapeutic drugs, HMGB1 inhibitors, Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) blockers, and membrane lipid replacement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Research into acupuncture and moxibustion and their application for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) has been growing, but the findings have been inconsistent. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the existing randomized clinical trials (RCTs), compare the efficacy of acupuncture, moxibustion and other traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatments. DATA SOURCES Three English-language databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and The Cochrane Library) and 4 Chinese-language biomedical databases (Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang) were searched for RCTs published from database inception through August 2021. STUDY SELECTION RCTs include acupuncture, moxibustion, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, western medicine and no control. DATA EXTRACTION AND SYNTHESIS Data were screened and extracted independently using predesigned forms. The quality of RCTs was appraised with the Cochrane Collaboration risk of bias tool. We conducted a random-effects network meta-analysis within a frequentist framework. We assessed the certainty of evidence contributing to network estimates of the main outcomes with the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) framework. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES The primary outcomes were the overall response rate and FS-14 scale. RESULTS A total of 51 randomized controlled trials involving 3473 patients with CFS were included in this review. Forty one studies indicate low risk or unknown risk, and the GRADE scores of the combined results show low levels. Among the main indicators, traditional Chinese medicine therapies have excellent performance. However, the overall response rate is slightly different from the results obtained from the Fatigue Scale-14 total score. Moxibustion and traditional Chinese medicine (Odds ratios 48, 95% CrI 15-150) perform better in the total effective rate, while moxibustion plus acupuncture (MD 4.5, 95% CrI 3.0-5.9) is better in the FS-14 total score. CONCLUSIONS The effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of CFS was significantly higher than that of other treatments. Traditional Chinese medicine should be used more widely in the treatment of CFS.

Abstract
Neuroticism is a basic personality trait concerning negative feelings under stressful conditions. Our purpose was to examine the rate of high neuroticism and factors associated with high neuroticism in long-term (≥ 5 years) survivors of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer (CAYACSs). Norwegian CAYACSs aged 0–39 years when diagnosed and treated between 1985 and 2009 for cancer in childhood/adolescence (0–18 years), or as young adults (19–39 years) and alive in 2015 were mailed a questionnaire. Data from 1629 CAYACSs (481 children/adolescents and 1148 young adults) were analyzed. High neuroticism was found in 44% of survivors of childhood/adolescent cancers versus 34% in survivors of young adult cancer (p < 0.001). The rate of high neuroticism in female CAYACSs was 40% and in males 30% (p < 0.001). The corresponding difference between male survivor group was non-significant. In multivariable analysis, young age at survey, more adverse effects, poor self-rated health, female sex, chronic fatigue, and increased depression remained significantly associated with high neuroticism. Cancer treatment, comorbidity, and lifestyle were significant in bivariate analyses. Cancer at earlier age could increase the risk of high neuroticism among adult survivors. Screening for neuroticism could identify CAYACSs at risk for experiencing multiple health concerns and needing special follow-up attention.

Abstract
An improved understanding of the impact of skin cancer on patients’ daily life may optimize disease management. This questionnaire survey of adult patients in real-world settings aimed to assess patient perception of the diagnosis announcement, and the impact of the diagnosis on the patients’ professional and personal life. Data from 355 patients with melanoma and 320 patients with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) were analysed. Melanoma significantly impacted the couple, and sexual relationships, as well as family and social life, and reduced the patient’s libido more significantly than did BCC (all p < 0.05). Melanoma and BCC significantly impacted the patients’ professional and personal lives. The word “cancer” used for a BCC announcement has a high anxiety-producing meaning for the patient. The announcement of each skin cancer should be made during a dedicated consultation, with more time devoted to the patient and with specific empathy, in order to improve reassurance of the patient.

Abstract
Cancer is becoming a chronic disease, and the number of cancer survivors continues to increase. Lymphoma survivors are also increasing in numbers, and anxiety and depression are among the consequences they face. This study aimed to explore psychological distress in a sample of 212 lymphoma survivors. Information through a socio-demographic form and the compilation of questionnaires to assess anxiety, depression, quality of life, and the impact of cancer on lymphoma survivors was collected and analyzed. In the sample examined, 17% of lymphoma survivors were anxiety caseness, and 12.3% were depression caseness, and of these, 8% presented with concomitant anxiety depression. This study identified some variables associated with psychological distress in lymphoma survivors: female sex; living as a couple; a diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma; systematic treatment and/or radiotherapy; sleep disorders; no regular physical activity; and present or past use of psychiatric drugs. Our cross-sectional study results suggest that some of the variables investigated may be useful in identifying lymphoma survivors who are more likely to report psychological distress. It is important to monitor psychological distress along the entire trajectory of survivorship in order to identify early the presence of anxiety and depression and to provide timely psychological support.

Abstract
Simple Summary With the growing population of cancer survivors, survivorship management has become central for both medical professionals and patients. This entails, among other factors, empowering survivors with the necessary knowledge about their medical history and their risk for late effects, because informed patients make better lifestyle and health choices. Although a lack of information and low satisfaction with information received are fairly well-documented phenomena among childhood cancer survivors, less is known about survivors of young adult cancer and populations of long-term survivors no longer engaged in follow-up care. This paper aims to fill this gap by investigating information provision in childhood, adolescent and young adult cancer survivors. Abstract Background: Knowledge of medical history and late effects is central in modern survivorship management, especially for long-term childhood, adolescent and young adult cancer survivors’ (CAYACS) with long life expectancy rates and high risks of late effects. Identifying information and knowledge gaps is, therefore, important. As part of the population-based NOR-CAYACS study, we investigated the following: (1) written information received about their disease and treatment, and any information about late effects; (2) satisfaction with this information and associated factors; (3) knowledge about late effects and factors associated with low knowledge of specific late effects. Material and methods: A questionnaire-based survey (Nor-CAYACS) was mailed to 5361 CAYACS (childhood cancers, breast and colorectal cancer, acute lymphatic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma and malignant melanoma) identified by the Cancer Registry of Norway (CRN). Of these, 2018 answered questions about disease and late effects information and knowledge. Exposure variables were extracted from the questionnaire and CRN. Unfortunately, it was not possible to stratify by treatment in the analyses. We ran descriptive statistics for comparisons and logistic regressions to identify factors associated with outcomes of interest. Results: Overall, 50% to 60% of survivors reported not having received written information about their disease and treatment, or any information about late effects. There was a large variation in reported knowledge across 17 late effects. Lower levels of knowledge were associated with male sex, lower education and poorer health literacy in multivariable regression models. Conclusions: Knowledge of cancer history and risks of late effects is essential for effective self-management, yet significant information and knowledge gaps were reported in this population-based sample of long-term CAYACS. Systematic approaches to making (up-to-date) information available to long-term survivors are needed to ensure that information does not get lost in medical and life transitions.

Abstract
Background With a growing, younger population of head and neck cancer survivors, attention to long-term side-effects of prior, often radiotherapeutic, treatment is warranted. Therefore, we studied the long-term cognitive effects in young adult patients irradiated for head and neck neoplasms (HNN). Methods Young to middle-aged adults with HNN (aged 18-40 years) and treated with unilateral neck irradiation ≥ 5 years before inclusion underwent cardiovascular risk and neuropsychological assessments and answered validated questionnaires regarding subjective cognitive complaints, fatigue, depression, quality of life, and cancer-specific distress. Additionally, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain was performed to assess white matter hyperintensities (WMH), infarctions, and atrophy. Results Twenty-nine patients (aged 24–61, 13 men) median 9.2 [7.3–12.9] years post-treatment were included. HNN patients performed worse in episodic memory (Z-score = -1.16 [-1.58–0.34], p < 0.001) and reported more fatigue symptoms (Z-score = 1.75 [1.21–2.00], p < 0.001) compared to normative data. Furthermore, patients had a high level of fear of tumor recurrence (13 patients [44.8%]) and a heightened speech handicap index (13 patients [44.8%]). Only a small number of neurovascular lesions were found (3 infarctions in 2 patients and 0.11 [0.00–0.40] mL WMH), unrelated to the irradiated side. Cognitive impairment was not associated with WMH, brain atrophy, fatigue, or subjective speech problems. Conclusions HNN patients showed impairments in episodic memory and an increased level of fatigue ≥ 5 years after radiotherapy compared to normative data. Cognitive impairments could not be explained by WMH or brain atrophy on brain MRI or psychological factors. Trial registration Clinicaltrials.gov (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04257968). Abstract
BACKGROUND Only a few studies have analyzed the effects of physical and psychiatric conditions on the risk of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Therefore, the goal of this exploratory case-control study was to investigate the associations of physical and psychiatric conditions with CFS in almost 19 800 adults from Germany. METHODS This study included patients diagnosed for the first time with CFS in one of 1238 general practices in Germany between 2010 and 2017 (index date). Controls without CFS were matched (1:1) to cases with CFS by sex, age, index year, and practice. Physical and psychiatric conditions diagnosed in the year prior to the index date were included if they were present in at least 3% of patients with CFS. Associations between physical and psychiatric conditions (33 potential independent variables) and CFS (dependent variable) were analyzed in an adjusted conditional logistic regression model, and physical and psychiatric disorders were included in the model using forward stepwise selection. RESULTS This study included 9896 cases with CFS and 9896 controls without CFS [65.1% women; mean (standard deviation) age 49.5 (18.3) years]. Seven conditions were associated with CFS in the adjusted regression model. The disorders displaying the strongest relationship with CFS were cancer [odds ratio (OR) = 2.57, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 2.24-2.95], sleep disorders (OR = 1.88, 95% CI = 1.66-2.12) and depression (OR = 1.77, 95% CI = 1.61-1.95). CONCLUSIONS Cancer, sleep disorders, and depression were strongly and positively associated with CFS. Additional studies are needed to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying these relationships.

Abstract
PURPOSE Sexual health is a key quality of life issue. Knowledge concerning sexual health in long-term breast cancer survivors (BCSs) is limited. Within a nationwide sample, we aimed to assess the prevalence of sexual inactivity and to explore factors associated with sexual inactivity and reduced sexual functioning among long-term BCSs. METHODS Long-term BCSs aged 20-65 years when diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in 2011-2012 were identified by the Cancer Registry of Norway in 2019 (n = 2803) and invited to participate in a nationwide survey. Sexual health was measured using the multidimensional Sexual Activity Questionnaire. Factors associated with sexual inactivity and reduced sexual functioning were explored using multivariable logistic- and linear regression analyses with adjustments for relevant sociodemographic, health-, and cancer-related variables. RESULTS The final sample consisted of 1307 BCSs with a mean age of 52 years at diagnosis. Fifty-two percent of the BCSs were sexually inactive. Lack of interest was the most common reason for sexual inactivity. Treatment with aromatase inhibitor (OR 1.73, 95% CI 1.23, 2.43) and poor body image (OR 0.99, 95% CI 0.99, 0.995) were associated with sexual inactivity. Among sexually active BCSs, depression (B - 1.04, 95% CI - 2.10, - 0.02) and physical inactivity (B - 0.61, 95% CI - 1.21, - 0.02) were inversely related to sexual pleasure. Treatment with aromatase inhibitor (B 0.61, 95% CI 0.20, 1.01), sleep problems (B 0.37, 95% CI 0.04, 0.70), breast symptoms (B 0.01, 95% CI 0.003, 0.02), and chronic fatigue (B 0.43, 95% CI 0.05, 0.81) were associated with sexual discomfort. Chemotherapy (OR 1.91, 95% CI 1.23, 2.97), current endocrine treatment (OR 1.98, 95% CI 1.21, 3.25), and poor body image (OR 0.98, 95% CI 0.98, 0.99) were associated with less sexual activity at present compared to before breast cancer. CONCLUSION Treatment with aromatase inhibitor seems to affect sexual health even beyond discontinuation. Several common late effects were associated with sexual inactivity and reduced sexual functioning. To identify BCSs at risk of sexual dysfunction, special attention should be paid to patients treated with aromatase inhibitor or suffering from these late effects.

Abstract
Simple Summary A major depressive episode (MDE) is a common mental disorder with profound consequences concerning work ability, comorbidity, and health-related quality of life. Therefore, screening for probable MDE (pMDE) in survivors of childhood and adolescence (CACSs) and young adult cancer (YACSs) survivors is clinically important. This study shows that pMDE is more common among CACSs and YACSs than found in a normative sample using two different definitions of pMDE based on the PHQ-9 screener. pMDE based on a total PHQ-9 score of 10 or more gave higher rates of pMDE than those based on an algorithmic definition. Statistical analyses showed that pMDE according to both definitions was significantly associated with psychosocial factors and self-rated health, while survivor groups, cancer types, and adverse events were not. Screening for pMDE is meaningful in CACSs and YACSs since we have effective treatment methods for pMDE if the condition is identified rather than overlooked. Abstract Background: A major depressive episode (MDE) is typically self-rated by screening forms identifying probable MDE (pMDE). This population-based cross-sectional questionnaire study examined the prevalence rates of pMDE identified by the PHQ-9 screener in long-term survivors of childhood and adolescence (CACSs) and young adult cancer (YACSs) and a normative sample (NORMs). Methods: Data from 488 CACSs, 1202 YACSs, and 1453 NORMs were analyzed, and pMDE was defined both by cut-off ≥10 on the total PHQ-9 score and by an algorithm. Results: The prevalence rates of pMDE among CACSs were 21.5%, 16.6% in YACSs, and 9.2% among NORMs using the cut-off definition. With the algorithm, the prevalence rates of pMDE were 8.0% among CACSs, 8.1% among YACSs, and 3.9% among NORMs. Independent of definition, CACSs and YACSs had significantly increased prevalence rates of pMDE compared to NORMs. Psychosocial factors and self-rated health were significantly associated with both definitions of pMDE in multivariable analyses, while survivor groups, cancer types, and adverse events were not. Conclusion: Since pMDE has negative health consequences and is amenable to treatment, healthcare providers should be attentive and screen for pMDE in young cancer survivors. For PHQ-9, the preferred type of definition of pMDE should be determined.

Abstract
Fatigue is a common symptom in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and in patients with cancer (CA). The aim was to investigate the degree of fatigue in RA patients as compared to CA patients as well as potential influencing factors on RA-related fatigue. This was a retrospective analyses of two prospective cohort studies that used the EORTC QLQ-FA12 as a common instrument to assess fatigue. The cohort of RA patients was based on a nationwide survey in Germany. The cohort of CA patients was recruited in the context of an international validation field study. Multivariable ANCOVAs compared levels of fatigue between the two cohorts, also including various subgroup analyses. Regression analyses explored influencing factors on RA patients’ fatigue. Data of n = 705 RA patients and of n = 943 CA patients were available for analyses. RA patients reported significantly higher Physical Fatigue (mean difference = 7.0, 95% CI 4.2–9.7, p < 0.001) and Social Sequelae (mean difference = 7.5, 95% CI 4.7–10.2, p < 0.001). CA patients reported higher Cognitive Fatigue (mean difference = 3.5, 95% CI 1.4–5.6, p = 0.001). No differences in Emotional Fatigue (p = 0.678) and Interference with Daily Life (p = 0.098) were found. In RA patients, mental health and pain were associated with fatigue (p values < 0.001). RA patients showed a considerable level of fatigue that is comparable to and in certain cases even higher than that of CA patients. The implementation of standardized diagnostic procedures and interventions to reduce fatigue in RA patients are recommended.

Abstract
CONTEXT Fatigue is a particularly common and troubling symptom that has a negative impact on quality of life throughout all phases of treatment and stages of the illness among patients with cancer. OBJECTIVES The objective of this meta-analysis is to examine the present status of fatigue prevalence in patients with cancer. METHODS The following databases were searched: PubMed, MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, from inception up to February 2020. Prevalence rates were pooled with meta-analysis using a random-effects model. Heterogeneity was tested using I-squared (I2) statistics. RESULTS A total of 129 studies (N = 71,568) published between 1993 and 2020 met the inclusion criteria. The overall prevalence of fatigue was 49% (34,947 of 71,656 participants, 95% CI = 45-53) with significant heterogeneity between studies (P < 0.000; τ2 = 0.0000; I2 = 98.88%). Subgroup analyses show that the prevalence of fatigue related to type of cancer ranged from 26.2% in patients with gynecological cancer to 56.3% in studies that included mixed types of cancer. In advanced cancer stage patients, the highest prevalence of fatigue (60.6%) was reported. Fatigue prevalence rates were 62% during treatment and 51% during mixed treatment status. The prevalence of fatigue decreased from 64% in studies published from 1996 to 2000 to 43% in studies published from 2016 to 2020. Metaregression identified female gender as a significant moderator for higher prevalence of fatigue, whereas mean age is not associated with fatigue. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis highlights the importance of developing optimal monitoring strategies to reduce fatigue and improve the quality of life of patients with cancer.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate lifestyle in a population-based sample of long-term (≥ 5 years since diagnosis) young adult cancer survivors (YACSs), and explore factors associated with not meeting the lifestyle guidelines for physical activity (PA), body mass index (BMI), and smoking. METHODS YACSs (n = 3558) diagnosed with breast cancer (BC), colorectal cancer (CRC), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), or localized malignant melanoma (MM) between the ages of 19 and 39 years and treated between 1985 and 2009 were invited to complete a mailed questionnaire. Survivors of localized MM treated with limited skin surgery served as a reference group for treatment burden. RESULTS In total, 1488 YACSs responded (42%), and 1056 YACSs were evaluable and included in the present study (74% females, average age at survey 49 years, average 15 years since diagnosis). Forty-four percent did not meet PA guidelines, 50% reported BMI ≥ 25 and 20% smoked, with no statistically significant differences across diagnostic groups. Male gender, education ≤ 13 years, comorbidity, lymphedema, pain, chronic fatigue, and depressive symptoms were associated with not meeting single and/or an increasing number of lifestyle guidelines. CONCLUSION A large proportion of long-term YACSs do not meet the lifestyle guidelines for PA, BMI, and/or smoking. Non-adherence to guidelines is associated with several late effects and/or comorbidities that should be considered when designing lifestyle interventions for YACSs.

Abstract
Purpose The majority of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivors (CAYACS) are at risk of late effects but may not receive long-term follow-up care for these. Here, we investigated (1) self-reported late effects, (2) long-term follow-up care, and (3) factors associated with receiving follow-up care in a population-based sample of Norwegian long-term CAYACS. Methods Survivors were identified by the Cancer Registry of Norway. All > 5-year survivors diagnosed between 1985 and 2009 with childhood cancer (CCS, 0–18 years old, excluding CNS), breast cancer (BC, stages I–III), colorectal cancer (CRC), leukemias (LEUK), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), or malignant melanoma (MM) at age 19–39 years were mailed a questionnaire (NOR-CAYACS study). Descriptive statistics and logistic regression models were used to analyze occurrence of late effects, long-term follow-up care for these, and associated factors. Results Of 2104 responding survivors, 1889 were eligible for analyses. Of these, 68% were females, with a mean age of 43 years at survey, on average 17 years since diagnosis, and diagnosed with CCS (31%), BC (26%), CRC (8%), NHL (12%), LEUK (7%), and MM (16%). Overall, 61.5% reported the experience of at least one late effect, the most common being concentration/memory problems (28.1%) and fatigue (25.2%). Sixty-nine percent reported not having received long-term follow-up care focusing on late effects. Lower age at survey (p = 0.001), higher education (p = 0.012), and increasing number of late effects (p = < 0.001) were associated with increased likelihood of follow-up care in the multivariate model. Conclusions The majority of survivors reported at least one late effect, but not receiving specific follow-up care for these. This indicates a need for structured models of long-term follow-up to ensure adequate access to care. Abstract
PURPOSE Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) may be debilitating, yet knowledge of FCR among the growing population of long-term young adult cancer survivors (YACS) is scarce. We explored risk of FCR and associated factors in a nation-wide, population-based cohort of YACS. METHODS All 5-year survivors diagnosed at the ages of 19-39 years with breast cancer (BC), malignant melanoma (MM), colorectal cancer (CRC), leukemia (LEU), or non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) between 1985 and 2009 in Norway were identified by the Cancer Registry of Norway and completed the cross-sectional comprehensive NOR-CAYACS health survey. Univariate and multivariate linear regression modeling was performed. RESULTS In total, 936 survivors were included, with an average of 16 years since diagnoses. BC was the most prevalent cancer form (38.4%), followed by MM (24.7%), NHL (15.6%), CRC (11.8%), and LEU (9.6%). Survivors worried most about getting another cancer (74%), and (20%) reported quite a bit or a lot of FCR. BC and MM survivors had the highest FCR scores. Post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) had the strongest association with FCR (Std B 0.21, p < 0.01), above demographic and clinical variables. CONCLUSIONS FCR is prevalent even among long-term YACS, including survivors of MM with favorable prognoses. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Attention to ongoing risks of PTSS and FCR in this growing survivor population is warranted to optimize future survivorship care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Patients´ own perceptions and evaluations of symptoms, functioning and other health-related factors, i.e. Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs), are important elements for providing good patient care. Symptoms are subjective and best elicited by the patient orally or by using PRO measures (PROMs), be it on paper, or as electronic assessment tools. Reference values on frequently used PROMs facilitate the interpretation of scores for use in clinics and research settings, by comparing patient data with relevant samples from the general population. Study objectives were to (1) present reference values for the M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI) (2) examine the occurrence and intensity of symptoms assessed by the MDASI in a general Norwegian adult population sample, and (3) examine factors associated with higher symptom burden defined as the sum score of all symptoms, and factors associated with symptoms` interference on functions. METHODS In 2015, MDASI was sent by mail as part of a larger survey, to a representative sample of the general Norwegian adult population (N = 6165). Medical comorbidities were assessed by the Self-Administered Comorbidity Questionnaire. Depression was self-reported on the Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9). Linear multivariable regression analysis was used to examine for factors associated with MDASI sum score and factors associated with symptoms' interference on functions. RESULTS The response rate was 36%. More women (54%) than men (46%) responded. Mean age was 55 years (SD 14). The most frequent symptoms were fatigue (59.7%), drowsiness (56.2%) and pain (56.1%). Fatigue, pain and disturbed sleep had the highest mean scores. The presence of one or more comorbidities, increasing PHQ-9 score and lower level of education were associated with higher MDASI sum score (p < 0.001). The MDASI sum score and the PHQ-9 score were positively associated with all interference items (p < 0.001) except for walking (p = 0.22). CONCLUSION This study provides the first Norwegian reference values for MDASI. The presence of one or more comorbidities, higher level of depressive symptoms and lower level of education were significantly associated with higher MDASI sum score. These covariates must be controlled for when using the reference values.

Abstract
Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is a problem for a significant proportion of cancer survivors during and after active cancer treatment. However, CRF is underdiagnosed and undertreated. Interventions are available for CRF although there is no gold standard. Based on current level of evidence, exercise seems to be most effective in preventing or ameliorating CRF during the active- and posttreatment phases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long-term lymphoma survivors often complain of persistent fatigue that remains unexplained. While largely reported in Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), long-term fatigue is poorly documented in non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL). Data collected in two cohort studies were used to illustrate the fatigue level changes with time in the two populations. METHODS Two cross-sectional studies were conducted in 2009-2010 (HL) and in 2015 (NHL) in survivors enrolled in European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Lymphoma Group and Lymphoma Study Association (LYSA) trials. The same protocol and questionnaires were used in both studies including the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI) tool to assess fatigue and a checklist of health disorders. Multivariate linear regression models were used in the two populations separately to assess the influence of time since diagnosis and primary treatment, age, gender, education level, cohabitation status, obesity and health disorders on fatigue level changes. Fatigue level changes were compared to general population data. RESULTS Overall, data of 2023 HL and 1619 NHL survivors with fatigue assessment available (99 and 97% of cases, respectively) were analyzed. Crude levels of fatigue were similar in the two populations. Individuals who reported health disorders (61% of HL and 64% of NHL) displayed higher levels of fatigue than those who did not (P < 0.001). HL survivors showed increasing fatigue level with age while in NHL survivors mean fatigue level remained constant until age 70 and increased beyond. HL survivors showed fatigue changes with age higher than those of the general population with health disorders while NHL survivors were in between those of the general population with and without health disorders. CONCLUSIONS Among lymphoma survivors progressive increase of fatigue level with time since treatment completion is a distinctive feature of HL. Our data suggest that changes in fatigue level are unlikely to only depend on treatment complications and health disorders. Investigations should be undertaken to identify which factors including biologic mechanisms could explain why a substantial proportion of survivors develop high level of fatigue.
