Abstract
PURPOSE Motor and non-motor symptoms can negatively affect quality of life (QoL) for people with Parkinson Disease (PD). Our purpose was to investigate the effects of group exercise (GE) compared to individual exercise (IE) and usual care (UC) on QoL for people with PD. A systematic review and meta-analysis were performed with randomized controlled trials that studied the effects of GE compared to IE and UC on QoL for people with PD. MATERIALS AND METHODS The systematic search was performed in EBSCO, PubMed, and Science Direct databases. Quality of methodology was assessed using the Cochrane GRADE approach. Thirteen studies met all inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis. RESULTS No significant difference was found on QoL between GE and IE; however, QoL was significantly improved with GE compared to UC. Results were based on low to moderate quality of evidence. CONCLUSIONS Based on low to moderate quality of evidence, GE has a similar effect on QoL when compared to IE and has a small and statistically significant effect when compared to UC, regardless of the patient reported outcome measure used or the total volume of exercise prescribed. GE may be an appropriate option for people with PD to improve their QoL.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To systematically review the literature of existing evidence on the measurement properties of the Quality of Life in Neurological Disorders (Neuro-QoL) measurement system among neurorehabilitation populations. DATA SOURCES The Consensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN) guided this systematic review in which we searched nine electronic databases and registries, and hand-searched reference lists of included articles. STUDY SELECTION Two independent reviewers screened selected articles and extracted data from 28 included studies. DATA EXTRACTION COSMIN's approach guided extraction and synthesizing measurement properties evidence (insufficient, sufficient), and the modified GRADE approach guided synthesizing evidence quality (very-low, low, moderate, high) by diagnosis. DATA SYNTHESIS Neuro-QoL has sufficient measurement properties when used by individuals with Huntington's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke, lupus, cognitive decline, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The strongest evidence is for the first four conditions, where test-retest reliability, construct validity, and responsiveness are nearly always sufficient (GRADE: moderate-high). Structural validity is assessed only in multiple sclerosis and stroke but is often insufficient (GRADE: moderate-high). Criterion validity is sufficient in some stroke and Huntington's disease domains (GRADE: high). Item response theory analyses were reported for some stroke domains only. There is limited, mixed evidence for responsiveness and measurement error (GRADE: moderate-high), and no cross-cultural validity evidence CONCLUSIONS: Neuro-QoL domains can describe and evaluate patients with Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and stroke, but predictive validity evidence would be beneficial. In the other conditions captured in this review, a limited number of Neuro-QoL domains have evidence for descriptive use only. For these conditions, further evidence of structural validity, measurement error, cross-cultural validity and predictive validity would enhance the use and interpretation of Neuro-QoL.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parkinson's disease (PD) substantially contributes to poor functional outcomes, loss in productivity, and poor health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Despite the existence of various scales, there is a notable gap in existing HRQoL reviews with regard to the availability of Arabic validated scales. As a response to this gap, the aim of our scoping review is to identify validated scales, focusing on their psychometric validation procedures, to contribute valuable insights to the understanding of HRQoL among the Arabic-speaking people with PD. METHODS A scoping review was conducted at the end of December 2022, using the Medline and Embase databases. The focus of this review was on examining the psychometric properties and validation procedures of included scales. Articles were included in the full-text screening process if they focused on people with PD of any age, included a scale measuring HRQoL in Arabic, and were written in English, French, or Arabic. RESULTS After applying inclusion/exclusion criteria, 10 studies were selected to analyze HRQoL scales validated in people with PD. However, the PDQ-39 is the only HRQol PD specific scales validated in the Arabic language. Five studies validated in people with PD were identified in the context of instrument validation (3 generic, 1 specific validated in 2 studies). CONCLUSION There are several HRQoL measurement scales for people with PD. However, only one specific HRQoL instrument has been validated in Arabic for people with PD. For the remaining instruments identified they were just used in people with PD without being validated in this population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Assessment of upper limb function is critical in the rehabilitation process of people with Parkinson's Disease (PD), and universally validated outcome measures are needed to allow comparisons across the practice. Moreover, the study of psychometric properties of the same tool on different clinical populations guarantees the possibility of reliably evaluating the same rehabilitation treatment in people with different clinical conditions. AIM OF THE STUDY The aim of this research was to evaluate the psychometric characteristics of the Italian adaptation of the Jebsen Taylor Hand Function Test (JTHFT) in individuals with PD. METHODS The reliability and validity of the test were assessed in accordance with international standards. Internal consistency was measured using Cronbach's alpha, and test-retest reliability was determined via the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The construct validity and cross-cultural validity of the test were evaluated using Pearson's correlation coefficient with three assessment tools on upper limb function, independence, and quality of life, with hand grip power measured by a dynamometer and an Italian pangram. Finally, responsiveness after a one month of rehabilitation treatment was measured using the Wilcoxon rank test. RESULTS Fifty-two Italian people with PD were recruited. Cronbach's alpha values ranged from 0.556 (non-dominant hand) to 0.668 (dominant hand); ICC values ranged from 0.754 to 0.988. Construct validity showed that several statistically significant correlations were detected. Wilcoxon's test showed that the assessment tool can detect a change in this population after treatment. CONCLUSIONS The JTHFT is a reliable, valid, and respondent tool to evaluate the upper limb and hand functionalities in PD patients. It should be added to the toolkit for measuring upper limb performance in this population, adding value to clinical evaluation and ensuring comparable results for different clinical populations and different countries.

Abstract
Background In the medical and rehabilitative field, it is essential to employ tools such as evaluation scales and performance tests to assess the impact of Parkinson's disease on QoL of affected individuals. The Short Parkinson's Evaluation Scale (SPES) is a reliable and valid tool, applicable both in research and clinical practices, useful in assessing motor damage, activities of daily living, and motor complications in patients with Parkinson's disease. The aim of the study is to investigate validity and reliability of the Italian version of the SPES-SCOPA scale. Methods Translation and cultural adaptation were performed. Included patients had diagnosis of Parkinson's disease, no concurrent pathologies, MiniMental test score above 2 and signed informed consent; they were recruited at the Department of Human Neurosciences in Sapienza University of Rome, from February 2023 to November 2023. Test-retest reliability was evaluated through Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha and construct validity using Pearson's correlation between SPES-SCOPA and the gold standard PDQ-39. Results 101 patients were recruited. Inter-rater evaluation was conducted on 62 patients, while 39 underwent an intra-rater assessment. The analysis showed statistically significant data with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.89 for the entire scale; test-retest reliability results are statistically significant for all subscales. Correlation between PDQ-39 domains and SPES/SCOPA subscales were statistically significant for most measurements. Conclusion This research shows that the Italian version of SPES-SCOPA scale has excellent psychometric properties.

Abstract
Parkinson's disease (PD) affects Quality of Life (QoL), since it is responsible for cognitive impairment, non-motor, and motor symptoms. Outcome measures are fundamental for evaluating treatment's effect on QoL over time. This systematic review aimed to identify the psychometric properties of PDQ-39 and PDQ-8 in the different populations in which they were validated. The electronic databases systematically searched are MEDLINE (via PubMed), CINAHL, SCOPUS, and Web of Science; the research was conducted in July 2023. The psychometric properties considered were those of the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN) checklist. Risk of bias was assessed using the COSMIN checklist. The search identified 1306 articles. 398 duplicates were eliminated; 908 articles were analyzed reading title and abstract; 799 were finally excluded because used PDQ-39 and PDQ-8 as outcome measures or were not dealing with psychometric properties; 66 articles were excluded after reading the full text. 43 articles were included in the review; meta-analysis showed all the Cronbach's alpha values were statistically significant for all the subscales of PDQ-39 and PDQ-8. PDQ-39 demonstrated to be a specific HRQoL questionnaire that is correlated with generic HRQoL questionnaires, in fact in many studies included in the review, correlations with SF-36 were found. In the last studies about psychometric properties of PDQ-8 emerged that it is a practical and informative instrument that can be easily used in clinical settings, especially in busy ones, but also in large-scale studies in which a brief instrument would be preferred.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study is to update a systematic review of instruments for evaluating the executive functions (EFs) in a pediatric population to assess their measurement properties. AREA COVERED Studies describing evaluation tools of EFs were systematically searched on four electronic databases: PubMed, EBSCO, Scopus, and Web of Science. To be included studies had to be on a population aged 0 to 18 were included. The individuals were either healthy or presented a neurodevelopment disorder. Risk of Bias was evaluated through the Consensus-based Standards to select the health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN). EXPERT OPINION The search was conducted on April 2023. Eighty-four papers met the inclusion criteria and were included in the study; the studies refer to 72 different evaluation tools of EFs. Most of the studies analyzed through a methodological quality analysis received an 'adequate' score. The instrument most mentioned was the Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function-2 (BRIEF2) in seven articles.

Abstract
A high burden of motor and non-motor parkinsonian symptoms is known to have a significant negative impact on the quality of life (QoL) of people with Parkinson's disease (PD). Effective control of these symptoms with therapies that enable patients to maintain a good QoL is therefore a key treatment goal in PD management. When symptom control can no longer be accomplished with oral or transdermal PD treatment regimens, device-aided therapies (DAT), namely levodopa and apomorphine infusion therapies, and deep brain stimulation, are valuable options to consider. DAT options may also help reduce pill burden and thereby improve compliance with treatment. Since PD therapy relies on symptomatic management, the efficacy and tolerability of any intervention is undoubtedly important, however the impact of different therapies on patient-related outcome measures, in particular health-related QoL, is also a critical consideration for those living with a chronic and disabling condition. This review discusses clinical evidence and ongoing research regarding the QoL benefits of levodopa and apomorphine infusion therapies from studies that have used validated QoL outcome measures. The data suggest that timing of these interventions is important to achieve optimal treatment effects, and that early initiation onto infusion therapies at the point when motor fluctuations emerge, and before patient QoL and functioning have significantly declined, may provide the best long-term outcomes. Healthcare professionals caring for people with PD should therefore discuss all available DAT options with them at an early stage in the course of their disease so they can make informed and timely choices that best suit them, their families and care network.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There are many different types of Leukodystrophies. Specifically, children with hypomyelination and congenital cataract syndrome (HCC) in addition to motor retardation development, hypotonia and progressive spastic paraplegia, associated with cerebellar ataxia and peripheral neuropathy, have early bilateral cataracts and intellectual disability as pathognomonic symptoms. HCC rehabilitation treatment is not well defined, but a significant amount of evidence in the literature has demonstrated the effectiveness of occupational therapy (OT) treatment in children with similar symptomatology. For this reason, the aim of this study was to describe the improvement in the autonomies and social participation of a child with HCC following OT treatment. METHODS A.E. was a 9-year-old child with HCC with severe intellectual disability. OT intervention lasted 3 months biweekly and each session lasted 45 min. Each session was divided into two parts: The first part aimed to increase the child's active involvement through activities; the second part involved training in Activities of Daily living (ADL). The outcome measures were: ABILHAND-Kids; Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory; Comprehensive OT Evaluation Scale; ADL and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living. RESULTS A.E.'s outcome measure reported an improvement from an autonomy standpoint and in the child's general activity participation; there was also an increase in A.E.'s interpersonal skills. CONCLUSION OT treatment improved A.E.'s autonomy.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a pathological condition that provokes the loss of one or more body functions due to an injury to the spinal cord as a result of trauma or disease. Hydrotherapy plays a key role in the rehabilitation of neurological patients due to the properties of water environments. OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of hydrotherapy in patients who suffer from SCIs. METHODS We searched 5 different databases: CINAHL, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and PEDro for studies to include. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published in English were considered. To evaluate the risk of bias, Jadad and PEDro scales were used. RESULTS Eleven Randomized Controlled Trials were included, and 3 articles remained to be analyzed. According to the evaluation through Cochrane Risk of Bias tool, one study had a high level of quality. The remaining 2 studies achieved a score indicative of a low level of quality. A total of 71 individuals with SCI were included in the studies; age and level of injury varied in each study. The outcome measures used in the studies were: Functional Independence Measure (FIM), Ashworth scale, CardioTouch 3000 s in sitting position and Quark CPET. CONCLUSION The aquatic environment provides a rehabilitation tool able to facilitate movement, physical and cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and body relaxation.

Abstract
Quality of life (QoL) in people with Parkinson´s disease (PD) is commonly measured with the PD questionnaire-39 (PDQ-39), but its factor structure and construct validity have been questioned. To develop effective interventions to improve QoL, it is crucial to understand the connection between different PDQ-39 items and to assess the validity of PDQ-39 subscales. With a new approach based on network analysis using the extended Bayesian Information Criterion Graphical Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (EBICglasso) followed by factor analysis, we mostly replicated the original PDQ-39 subscales in two samples of PD patients (total N = 977). However, model fit was better when the "ignored" item was categorized into the social support instead of the communication subscale. In both study cohorts, "depressive mood", "feeling isolated", "feeling embarrassed", and "having trouble getting around in public/needing company when going out" were identified as highly connected variables. This network approach can help to illustrate the relationship between different symptoms and direct interventional approaches in a more effective manner.

Abstract
Irritability is a transdiagnostic symptom that affects quality of life during the lifespan of individuals. The objective of the present research was to validate two assessment tools, namely the Affective Reactivity Index (ARI) and the Born-Steiner Irritability Scale (BSIS). We investigated internal consistency as measured with Cronbach's alpha, test-retest with intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and convergent validity confronting ARI and BSIS scores with the strength and difficulties questionnaire (SDQ). Our results revealed ARI good internal consistency with a Cronbach's α of 0.79 for adolescent and 0.78 for adults. The BSIS also demonstrated good internal consistency for both samples with Cronbach's α = 0.87. Test-retest analysis showed excellent values for both tools. Convergent validity showed positive and significant correlation with SDW, albeit weak for some sub-scales. In conclusion, we found ARI and BSIS to be good tools for measuring irritability in adolescents and adults, and now, Italian healthcare professionals can use it with more confidence.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multi-arm, multi-stage (MAMS) platform trials can accelerate the identification of disease-modifying treatments for Parkinson's disease (PD) but there is no current consensus on the optimal outcome measures (OM) for this approach. OBJECTIVE To provide an up-to-date inventory of OM for disease-modifying PD trials, and a framework for future selection of OM for such trials. METHODS As part of the Edmond J Safra Accelerating Clinical Trials in Parkinson Disease (EJS ACT-PD) initiative, an expert group with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) representatives' input reviewed and evaluated available evidence on OM for potential use in trials to delay progression of PD. Each OM was ranked based on aspects such as validity, sensitivity to change, participant burden and practicality for a multi-site trial. Review of evidence and expert opinion led to the present inventory. RESULTS An extensive inventory of OM was created, divided into: general, motor and non-motor scales, diaries and fluctuation questionnaires, cognitive, disability and health-related quality of life, capability, quantitative motor, wearable and digital, combined, resource use, imaging and wet biomarkers, and milestone-based. A framework for evaluation of OM is presented to update the inventory in the future. PPIE input highlighted the need for OM which reflect their experience of disease progression and are applicable to diverse populations and disease stages. CONCLUSION We present a range of OM, classified according to a transparent framework, to aid selection of OM for disease-modifying PD trials, whilst allowing for inclusion or re-classification of relevant OM as new evidence emerges.

Abstract
Introduction Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease with motor and non-motor manifestations that have been previously reported to affect patient quality of life (QoL). Our objective is to investigate the factors that contribute to QoL in a cohort of PD patients receiving care at a major academic institution. Methods In this cross-sectional study of 124 participants (71.77% male, mean age 65.20, mean UPDRS-III score 11.25), we analyzed if certain clinical features such as UPDRS-III, QIDS-C, and total disease duration contributed to QoL as measured by two different metrics (PDQ-39 and EQ-5D) in PD patients at a university Movement Disorders Clinic. Results Motor symptoms of PD, with the exception of tremor, as well as depression and specific depressive symptoms were significantly and positively correlated with lower QoL metrics for patients with Parkinson's, with total depressive symptom severity (QIDS-C16 Total score) contributing most to QoL scores. Of the specific depressive and motor symptoms, anhedonia and rigidity contributed the most to QoL. Disease duration was significantly correlated with lower QoL for participants with Parkinson's according to the QoL metric PDQ-39 but not ED-5D. Parkinson's patients with access to high-quality healthcare are at risk for having diminished QoL due to both depressive and motor symptoms. Conclusion While severity of motor symptoms certainly impacted QoL in our cohort, our findings suggest that depressive symptoms contribute more to impaired QoL than severe motor symptoms do. This phenomenon suggests that concomitant depression in PD as well as one's psychological adjustment to disability may have a greater impact on QoL than severe motor symptoms.

Abstract
Measuring disability among migrants is a significant challenge; however, there is no consensus on how to measure disability and functional limitations. The present study reports a methodological approach to measure disability in refugees and asylum seekers using Washington Group (WG) tools, namely the WG Short Set (WG-SS), the Short Set Enhanced (WG-SS-E), and the Extended Set on Functioning (WG-ES). We interviewed 161 migrants in different regions of Italy. The recommended threshold for each WG tool was used. We identified 13.7% of migrants with disabilities using the WG-SS, 21.7% using the WG-SS-E, and 31.6% using the WG-ES. Anxiety and depression were the main weights to identify migrants with disabilities (11.8%). The WG-SS does not measure mental health, and therefore we do not suggest its use in the field. However, the WG-SS-E, together with some questions on pain and fatigue, should be considered to identify migrants with a greater risk of disability.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Quality of life (QoL) in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) is increasingly used as an efficacy outcome in clinical studies of PD to evaluate the impact of treatment from the patient's perspective. Studies demonstrating the treatment effect of pramipexole on QoL remain inconclusive. This study aims to evaluate the effect of pramipexole on QoL in patients with PD by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing clinical trials. METHODS A systematic literature search of PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library was performed from inception to 30 April 2022 to identify randomised, placebo-controlled trials of patients with idiopathic PD receiving pramipexole, who reported a change from baseline in their QoL as measured by the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39). Risk of bias was independently assessed by two reviewers using the Cochrane Collaboration's tool for bias assessment. RESULTS Of 80 eligible articles screened, six trials consisting of at least 2000 patients with early or advanced PD were included. From the synthesis of all six selected trials, a significant mean change from baseline in the PDQ-39 total score of -2.49 (95% CI, -3.43 to -1.54; p < 0.0001) was observed with pramipexole compared with placebo. A trend toward improvement in QoL was consistently observed among patients who received optimal doses of pramipexole (≥ 80% of the study population on 1.5 mg dosage), regardless of disease severity (advanced versus early) or baseline QoL levels. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis provides evidence for the potential treatment benefit of pramipexole in improving QoL in patients with PD.

Abstract
Sleep disorders in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are well-described. However, there is a lack of specific assessment tools to investigate sleep disturbance in this target population. The present investigation reports the Italian validation of the Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children (SDSC) in the ASD population, also investigating the correlation between sleep disorders In both children and parents. Internal consistency and test−retest reliability were investigated using Cronbach’s alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), respectively. Concurrent validity was analyzed by comparing the score of the SDSC with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), while the correlation between the SDCS score and the General Sleep Disturbance Scale (GSDS) was used to analyze the correlation between sleep disorders in children and sleep disorders in their parents. In total, 99 children with a diagnosis of ASD participated in the study. Cronbach’s alpha revealed satisfactory value (0.853), as well as reliability (ICC 0.972) and concurrent validity (0.745). Our results also revealed a significant linear correlation between children’s and parents’ sleep disorders (p < 0.05). In conclusion, we found the SDSC to be a useful tool for measuring sleep disorders in ASD children. Our findings offer concrete inputs to achieve adequate pathways for taking care of children with ASDs and their parents.

Abstract
The Toileting Habit Profile Questionnaire Revised (THPQ-R) identifies sensory integration issues in children with defecation problems. Sensory integration issues are recognized as a factor linked to some defecation disorders and identifying such issues is needed to guide the development of an appropriate intervention. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the THPQ-R in a population of typically developing (TD) Italian children by measuring its internal consistency and cross-cultural validity. The translation and cultural adaptation were performed according to international guidelines. The questionnaire was administered to the caregivers of TD children, and the analysis was performed on data obtained from 118 TD children. The construct validity of the scale was calculated through the exploratory factor analysis that indicated two factors; Cronbach’s alpha was calculated for internal consistency and showed a value >0.7, demonstrating good internal consistency. Cross-cultural validity was also analyzed and showed higher levels of defecation problems at age 5 years. Italian occupational therapists now have a tool to assess possible sensory issues linked to defecation disorders in children aged 3 to 6 years, which may promote more effective clinical practice in this area. Moreover, it will be possible to compare the results obtained from studies conducted in Italy with those conducted in other countries.

Abstract
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic condition that considerably impacts the perception of quality of life (QoL) in both patients and their caregivers. Modern therapeutic approaches and social efforts strive at maintaining and promoting QoL. It has emerged as a fundamental parameter for clinical follow-up and poses one of the most important endpoints in scientific and economic evaluations of new care models. It is therefore of utmost importance to grasp concepts of QoL in a meaningful way. However, when taking a look at the origin of our modern understanding of QoL and existing methods for its measurement in PD patients, some aspects seem to lack sufficient appreciation. This article elaborates on how the perception of health and QoL have changed over time and discuss whether current understandings of both are reflected in the most commonly applied assessment methods for people with PD.

Abstract
Quality of life (QoL) for people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is diminished by speech and communication changes. The impact of PD Check-In, an intervention for supported self-managed maintenance of speech following LSVT LOUD®, on QoL of people with PD was investigated. Sixteen people with PD and dysarthria completed LSVT LOUD followed by PD Check-Ins up until 24 months post-treatment. Self-rated QoL and voice handicap scales were used to determine the psychosocial and perceived impact of PD Check-In on the speech and voice of people with PD. The perceived impact of PD Check-In on speech and voice was also sought from 15 communication partners (CPs). A significant treatment effect for time was identified for the Dysarthria Impact Profile (DIP), Voice Handicap Index (VHI), and Voice Handicap Index-Partner (VHI-P) (p < 0.05). There was no significant effect for time for the Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39). Planned comparisons of timepoints for DIP, VHI, and VHI-P showed no significant differences (p > 0.01). Comparison of perceived voice handicap by people with PD and CPs revealed no significant differences (p > 0.01). The impact of PD Check-In on QoL of people with PD and CPs for 24 months post-LSVT-LOUD is unclear. Self-reported outcome measures alone do not fully capture changes in QoL in PD.

Abstract
Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of equine therapy (ET) to detect changes in the activities of daily living, quality of life, mood, balance, and gait in individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Material and Methods: In the study, 17 participants with PD were recruited to participate in 10 sessions of ET. The inclusion criteria of the study were: second and third stages of the Hoehn and Yahr scale, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) greater than or equal to 24 points, and age up to 85 years. The outcome measures administered at the beginning and the end of treatment relied on measurements from the Rivermead ADL scale, Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire-39 (PDQ-39), Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), unified Parkinson’s disease rating scale (UPDRS), and Tinetti balance assessment. Data from the stabilometric platform were also collected to objectify the value obtained by the Tinetti balance assessment. The ET program included 10 biweekly 45 min sessions. Results: The results obtained included statistically significant increases in measurements from the Rivermead ADL, PDQ-39, UPDRS, SDS, and Tinetti balance assessment scales. The stabilometric platform did not report significant changes in data. Conclusion: ET that was used as a supportive therapy for traditional treatments resulted in statistically significant improvements in the occupational performance, mood, quality of life, gait, and balance of the participants. Data from the stabilometric platform did not show significant changes.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Psychometric study, transverse study. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the psychometric properties of the Moorong Self Efficacy Scale (MSES) in the Italian population with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). PARTICIPANTS 65 people with SCI. SETTING The Italian version of the MSES (MSES-IT) was administered to the participants recruited by two Italian Spinal Units. METHODS MSES assesses confidence in the performance of daily activities. The original scale was translated from English into Italian using international guidelines. MSES-IT's internal consistency and inter-rater reliability were examined through the Cronbach alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), respectively. Its concurrent validity was assessed using Pearson's correlation coefficients with the Italian version of the Spinal Cord Independence Measure-Self Reported (SCIM-SR) and the Italian version of the Quality-of-Life Assessment Questionnaire (SF-36). RESULTS The MSES-IT was administered to 65 subjects. Cronbach's alpha for the MSES-IT was 0.87, and the test-retest reliability (ICC) was 0.99 (95% Confidence Interval). The validity analysis showed significant moderate correlations (0.30 < ρ < 0.44) between the MSES-IT and the following components of SF-36: Role limitations physical health; Role limitations emotional problems; Emotional well-being; General health. However, no correlations emerged between MSES-IT and SCIM-SR. CONCLUSIONS This study showed strong values of Cronbach's alpha and ICC of MSES-IT that make it a useful clinical and research tool. Rehabilitation can improve quality of life by targeting low-efficacy factors in people with spinal cord injury, which is possible because an individual's self-efficacy related to SCI can help determine participation in daily activities and social activities, work, and other life events.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Psychometric study. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the internal consistency and validity of the Community Integration Questionnaire - Revised (CIQ-R) in Italian individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI). SETTING Patients' associations, foundations, sport clubs, and federations in Italy. METHODS The psychometric properties were evaluated following international guidelines. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's alpha (α) coefficient, and test-retest reliability was assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC); concurrent validity was assessed through Pearson's Correlation Coefficient with the Short Form-12 health survey (SF-12). RESULTS The test was administered to 80 people with SCI. Cronbach's α showed a value of 0.825 for the Home Integration subscale, while the other subscales and the total showed values <0.70. 30 of the 80 recruited individuals were submitted to test-retest, which showed ICC values ranging from 0.94 to 1. CIQ-R also showed a correlation between Physical Component Summary (PCS12) of the SF-12, and between Social Integration subscale's score and PCS12 and Mental Component Summary (MCS12). Correlations are also shown between Productivity subscale and PCS12 and MCS12, as well as between the total score and PCS12 and MCS12. CONCLUSION This study provided Italian clinicians and researchers with the first international outcome measure for measuring community integration. The validation of this measurement tool for people with SCI allows to compare outcomes of various studies. It is useful for testing the effectiveness of a treatment in various diseases and define which treatment is more effective than others.

Abstract
PURPOSE Down Syndrome (DS) is a common genetic disorder caused by trisomy 21. Due to cognitive challenges associated with DS, individuals often experience difficulty performing activities of daily living (ADLs), at levels that can range from mild to significant. This study aimed to measure psychometric properties of the Italian version of the Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI-I) in the DS population. METHODS The PEDI-I was administered to children with DS. The internal consistency was examined using Cronbach's Alpha. Test-retest reliability was demonstrated by intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Bland-Altman plots. The concurrent validity was evaluated with the Italian version of the Barthel Index. RESULTS The PEDI-I was administered to 54 children with DS. Cronbach's Alpha showed statistically significant values (0.899 -0.986). The ICC confirmed the reproducibility of the scale with a range of (0.988 -1), while Bland-Altman plots showed a smallest detectable change of (0.18-1.63). The Pearson Correlation Coefficient with the Barthel Index showed statistically significant values for all PEDI-I subscales (range 0.75-0.95). CONCLUSION The study provides evidence of good test-retest reliability and convergent validity when used in children with DS. Other psychometric proprieties need to be investigated in future studies.

Abstract
A growing aging population leads to a gradual increase in the number of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). This study examines how perceived health, psychological distress, and subjective well-being evolve in older adults with PD. A cross-lagged study design was employed using data from Waves 4 and 6 of the Survey of Health, Aging and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). In total, 421 older adults diagnosed with PD at baseline (46% women; mean age 74.98 ± 9.05 years) were included in the study and were followed up after a four-year lag. Auto-regressive and cross-lagged associations between the measured variables were examined in reciprocal models. Individual differences in perceived health, psychological distress, and subjective well-being were relatively stable over the 4-year lag. A final reciprocal model with significant cross-lagged effects explained the underlying structure of the sample data well: χ2 (49) = 101.876, p < 0.001, CFI = 0.953, NFI = 0.935, RMSEA = 0.050, and AIC = 241.876. Increased difficulties in fulfilling instrumental activities and a lowered level of subjective well-being were particularly noticeable in older adults with PD during the four-year follow-up. Additional attention should be paid to helping older patients with PD cope better with their functional limitations and improve their sense of well-being.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The present study aimed to perform a systematic review of instruments for evaluating the executive functions (EFs) in a pediatric population to assess their measurement properties, focusing on the professional who administers it. AREA COVERED A systematic search of the literature was performed on Cinahl, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science and Medline to identify studies in which an instrument for evaluating the EFs was described. Included only were the papers reporting the evaluation of EFs, with any instrument, on a population aged 0 to 18 consisting of healthy individuals or people with neurodevelopmental disorder. The evaluation of the Risk of Bias has been carried out with the administration of a part of the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement INstruments (COSMIN) Checklist. EXPERT OPINION The search ended on the 2nd of August. Only 19 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the study; the papers refer to 16 different evaluation tools of the EF. Analysis of the methodological quality shows that most of the papers assessed received an 'inadequate' or 'insufficient' score. Indeed, only two articles received six or five 'sufficient' out of 8 items; instead, ten papers received one or zero 'sufficient.'

Abstract
Purpose This study is aimed at validating the A-ONE scale in an Italian population with Central Nervous System (CNS) dysfunction. Material and Methods. Between May and November 2018, people aged between 60 and 90 with CNS dysfunction were recruited in a hospital in Rome, Italy. Patients were observed and evaluated during the activities of daily living. Internal consistency and reliability were evaluated with Cronbach's coefficient alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient, respectively. As measured with Pearson's correlation coefficient, the validity was examined comparing results of the A-ONE with the Barthel index. Responsiveness was evaluated 30 days after the first administration. Results A total of 70 people having a diagnosis of neurological disorders were evaluated. The internal consistency showed Cronbach's coefficient alpha ranging from 0.634 to 0.959. The measurement of reliability varied from 0.984 to 0.997 for intrarater and from 0.979 to 0.998 for interrater. Pearson's correlation coefficient between the A-ONE and the Barthel index and the responsiveness showed statistically significant values (p < 0.01). Conclusions The present study provides preliminary evidence of reliability, validity, and responsiveness of the A-ONE when using elderly people with CNS dysfunction.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Physical fatigue can be a common reason for early retirement or sick leave since it appears in the earliest stages of multiple sclerosis (MS). Therefore, a prompt and accurate diagnosis is essential. This systematic review aims to identify and describe the instruments used to assess physical fatigue in MS patients with consideration for the languages used to validate the instruments and their methodological qualities. AREA COVERED This study has been carried out through 'Medline,' 'Scopus,' 'Cinhal,' and 'Web of Science' databases for all the papers published before 24 January 2020. Three independent authors have chosen the eligible studies based upon pre-set criteria of inclusion. Data collection, data items, and assessment of the risk of bias: the data extraction approach was chosen based on the Cochrane Methods. For data collection, the authors followed the recommendations from the COSMIN initiative. Study quality and risk of bias were assessed using the COSMIN Check List. EXPERT OPINION 119 publications have been reviewed. The 45 assessment scales can be divided into specific scales for physical fatigue and specific scales for MS. The most popular tools are the Fatigue Severity Scale and the Modified Fatigue Impact Scale.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, led to strict domestic quarantine, social isolation policies, and consequently significant psycho-emotional and lifestyle changes. The individual and societal fear and anxiety cause significant stress affecting health-related quality of life (HRQOL). There is evidence of the psychological and mental health effects of the current pandemic on students, who are known to be a vulnerable population. A decrease in physical activity was reported among students, and it is known to contribute to stress levels, which is strongly associated with HRQOL. This study is aimed at evaluating the validity and reliability of SF-12 Health Survey version 2 (SF-12v2) in the assessment of self-perceived quality of life of Italian students following lifestyle changes due to the outbreak of COVID-19. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted with university students attending the faculty of Medicine and Surgery or Health Professions. The Physical Component Summary (PCS12) and the Mental Component Summary (MCS12) of SF-12v2 were compared to the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Internal consistency was examined using Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient. Concurrent validity was evaluated comparing SF-12v2 values to PSS scores, and the Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) was calculated. Cross-cultural validity was investigated through several analyses for correlations between SF-12v2 scores and the gender of participants, University of Italy, body mass index (BMI), and time spent sitting and exercising. RESULTS The SF-12v2 questionnaire was administered to 583 medical and health professionals' students in July 2020. Cronbach's Alpha showed acceptable reliability for PCS12 and MCS12. In line with expectations, PCS12 scores differed by BMI groups, while the MCS12 was associated with PSS score and showed differences between genders, BMI groups, time spent sitting, and time spent exercising. CONCLUSION The Italian version of SF-12v2 is a valid and reliable instrument to assess health-related quality of life among medical and health professionals' students.
