Abstract
Background The DTaP-Hib and DTaP-IPV/Hib combination vaccine can be used as a substitute for the diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis combined vaccine (DTaP). We aimed to evaluate the safety of multi-component vaccines containing DTaP by analyzing the reporting rates and characteristics of adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) in Linping District during the years 2019 to 2022. Methods We obtained data of AEFI and vaccination from the National AEFI Surveillance System of China and Zhejiang Municipal Immunization Information Management System, respectively, during 2019-2022 for a descriptive, epidemiological analysis. Results The total number of AEFI reported following vaccinations with DTaP-containing combination vaccines was 802 in Linping District from 2019 to 2022. The overall reporting rates of AEFIs following DTaP, DTaP-Hib, and DTaP-IPV/Hib vaccinations were 445.72 (537 cases), 536.29 (45 cases), and 306.13 (220 cases) per 100,000 doses in Linping District from 2019 to 2022, respectively. Only one case of a serious AEFI following DTaP vaccination, with a reporting rate of 0.83 per 100,000 doses. The composition ratio of vaccine product-related reactions for DTaP, DTaP-Hib, and DTaP-IPV/Hib were 99.81, 97.78, and 100.00%, respectively. The composition ratio of coincidental events for DTaP and DTaP-Hib were 0.19 and 2.22%, respectively. The reporting rates of total AEFIs for DTaP-IPV/Hib were lower than for DTaP. The reporting rate of local induration for DTaP-Hib was lower than for DTaP, and the reporting rates of local redness & swelling and local induration for DTaP-IPV/Hib were both lower than for DTaP. DTaP-IPV/Hib had a higher proportion of AEFIs in first quarter compared to DTaP. The reporting rate after the second dose of DTaP-Hib was higher than that of DTaP, and the reporting rates of AEFIs after the first dose and third dose of DTaP-IPV/Hib were lower than DTaP. Conclusion The reported AEFIs to multi-component vaccines containing DTaP components during 2019-2022 in Linping District were mainly mild vaccine reactions. DTaP-containing combination vaccines demonstrated a good safety profile.

Abstract
Respiratory infectious diseases have long been recognised as a substantial global healthcare burden and are one of the leading causes of death worldwide, particularly in vulnerable individuals. In the post COVID-19 era, there has been a surge in the prevalence of influenza virus A and other multiple known viruses causing cold compared with during the same period in the previous three years, which coincided with countries easing COVID-19 restrictions worldwide. This article aims to review community-acquired respiratory illnesses covering a broad spectrum of viruses, bacteria, and atypical microorganisms and focuses on the cluster prevalence of multiple known respiratory pathogens in China, thereby providing effective prevention and control measures.

Abstract
PURPOSE To assess the epidemiology of seasonal influenza in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, during 2018-2022 and provide insights for influenza prevention. METHODS Following the National Influenza Surveillance Program, we conducted pathogen surveillance by randomly sampling throat swabs from cases with influenza-like illness (ILI) at two sentinel hospitals. RESULTS From 2018 to 2022, a total of 3,813,471 cases were treated at two hospitals in Huzhou, China. Among them, there were 112,385 cases of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI), accounting for 2.95% of the total number of cases. A total of 11,686 ILI throat swab samples were tested for influenza viruses, with 1,602 cases testing positive for influenza virus nucleic acid, resulting in a positivity rate of 13.71%. Among the positive strains, there were 677 strains of A(H3N2) virus, 301 strains of A(H1N1) virus, 570 strains of B/Victoria virus, and 54 strains of B/Yamagata virus. The ILI percentage (ILI%) and influenza nucleic acid positivity rate showed winter-spring peaks in the years 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022, with the peaks concentrated in January and February. Additionally, a small peak was observed in August 2022 during the summer season. No peak was observed during the winter-spring season of 2020. The highest proportion of ILI cases was observed in children aged 0-4 years, followed by school-age children aged 5-14 years. There was a positive correlation between ILI% and influenza virus nucleic acid positivity rate (r = 0.60, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS The influenza outbreak in Huzhou from 2020 to 2022 was to some extent influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic and public health measures. After the conclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic, the influenza outbreak in Huzhou may become more severe. Therefore, it is crucial to promptly assess the influenza outbreak trends based on the ILI% and the positivity rate of influenza virus nucleic acid tests.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The approval of nirsevimab brings light to reducing the heavy disease burden caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Considering the seasonality of RSV, the timing of administrating monoclonal antibody (mAb) is critical to maximize health utility. This study aimed to model and seek the optimal seasonal mAb administration strategy for preventing RSV-associated hospitalization. METHODS Age-season specific hospitalization rates for RSV-associated acute lower respiratory infection (RSV-ALRI) were estimated from a hospital-based birth cohort. Using these rates, we simulated and evaluated the effect of diverse mAb administration strategies on preventing RSV-ALRI hospitalization. Optimal strategies were selected based on their effectiveness and relative cost-effectiveness. RESULTS Compared with the year-round strategy of administration mAb at birth for all children, 291 out of the 854 candidate strategies, featuring diverse administration timing and age thresholds, demonstrated a greater number of averted RSV-ALRI hospitalizations and a lower number needed to treat (NNT). The NNT represents the number of mAb doses needed to prevent one case of RSV-ALRI hospitalization. Among the 291 strategies, administration mAb to children born in July-January or August-January at birth and administrating to the remaining <12 months old children in September, exhibited the highest increase in averted RSV-ALRI hospitalizations than the year-round strategy, with a magnitude of 23 %, while also achieve an 18 % reduction in NNT. CONCLUSION Administrating monoclonal antibodies to children born in July to January at birth, and administrating to the remaining <1-year-old children in September or October would be the optimal seasonal mAb administration strategy for children in Suzhou, China.

Abstract
China's immunization programs conducted a unified, tightly coordinated COVID-19 vaccination campaign during the dynamic COVID Zero period that reached well over 90% of the population with vaccines having > 90% effectiveness against serious-to-fatal COVID-19. The campaign was eight times the size of the annual routine national immunization program, administering 3.4 billion doses of vaccines while monitoring vaccine coverage, acceptability, safety, and effectiveness. Every asset of the routine immunization program had to be strengthened and expanded to attain high coverage and reach hundreds of millions of adults who had not been vaccinated since childhood. Program strengthening and expansion were in directions aligned with the World Health Organization's Immunization Agenda 2030, which has a vision that "everyone, everywhere, at every age fully benefits from vaccines for good health and well-being" and requires reaching all children, adolescents, and adults with lifesaving vaccines. Momentum from this campaign should not be lost but should be invested into achieving what is possible with a properly resourced national immunization program that is now proven to be capable of reaching everyone in the world's largest country throughout the life course, and to do so with all vaccines recommended by the World Health Organization.
