Abstract
We applied the Petasites hybridus rhizome water extract as green media so that Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@ multi-walled carbon nanotubes magnetic nanocomposites (Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs MNCs) could be prepared. We also evaluated its activity by using in the one-pot multicomponent reaction of acetophenones, diethyl oxalate, ammonium acetate, and activated carbonyl compounds such as ninhydrin, isatin and acenaphthylene-1,2-dione, and malononitrile and hydrazoyl chlorides in an aqueous medium at room temperature for the generation of spiro-1,2,4-triazines as new derivatives with tremendous output. Moreover, reducing organic pollutants from 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) was carried out by generating Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs in water at room temperature. The results displayed that Ag/Fe3O4/CdO@MWCNTs reduced pollutants of organic compounds in a short time. The synthesized spiro-1,2,4-triazines have NH and OH functional groups having acidic hydrogen with high antioxidant power. Also, the spiro-1,2,4-triazines exhibited antimicrobial ability. For this purpose, the disk diffusion method was applied and two kinds of bacteria, Gram-positive and Gram-negative, were employed for the analysis. Furthermore, we applied functional theory-based quantum chemical methods in order to better understand reaction mechanism density. To generate spiro-1,2,4-triazines, the applied process showed many properties such as reactions with short time, products with good yields, and simple extraction of catalyst from a mixture of reactions.

Abstract
An efficient and facile one-pot, five-component reaction for the synthesis of 2,6-diamino-1-alkyl-2-oxospiro[indoline-3,4′-thiopyran]-3,5-dicarbonitrile derivatives has been reported by a reaction between primary amines, carbon disulfide, malononitrile, and isatin derivatives. The major advantages of this procedure are high yields of products in relatively short reaction time, scalability, mild conditions, multi-component synthetic procedure, low catalyst loading, no column separation and simple reaction work-up. As a consequence, this synthetic procedure provided an efficient access to spirooxindole-annulated thiopyran derivatives.

Abstract
Magnesium catalysis proved to be efficient towards [3 + 3] chemo- and diastereoselective heteroannulation employing racemic Morita-Baylis-Hillman (MBH) acetate as the C3 unit and α-enolic dithioester as the C2S1 unit, leading to highly substituted 3,4-dihydro-2H-thiopyrans in excellent yields. The compatibility with a wide range of functional groups makes this domino formation of C-C and C-S bonds interesting. DFT analyses for the regioselective formation of the intermediate was performed.

Abstract
In this study, we synthesized schiff base of pyrimidoazepine derivatives in high yields using multicomponent reactions of isatins, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds, guanidine and aldehydes in the presence of Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@ Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) as a high performance catalyst in water at room temperature. The Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@MWCNT synthesizes using Petasites hybridus rhizome water extract as a green media and moderate base. As well Fe3O4/CuO/ZnO@MWCNT magnetic nanocomposites show a good improvement in the yield of the product and displayed significant reusable activity. Investigation of antioxidant ability of synthesized compounds using radical trapping of diphenyl-picrylhydrazine and ferric reduction power experiment is another purpose in this research. Also, the antimicrobial activity of some synthesized compounds proved by employing the disk diffusion test on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This procedure has some benefits such as short reaction time, product with excellent yields, simple catalyst and products separation.

Abstract
In this work, we synthesized new Schiff base of benzoxazine derivatives in excellent yields using multicomponent reactions of phthalaldehyde or its derivatives, primary amines, isothiocyanate, 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone, isopropenylacetylene and methyl or ethyl amine in the presence of catalytic amount of Cu/KF/CP@MWCNTs NCs in water at room temperature. Also, the catalytic activity of the green synthesized Cu/KF/CP@MWCNTs NCs was evaluated in the reduction in organic pollutants such as 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in water at mild conditions. The results indicated that the biosynthesized NCs have very high and effective catalytic activity for organic pollutants within few seconds. As well the antioxidant activity of some synthesized benzoxazine was studied using trapping of radical by DPPH and ferric reduction activity potential (FRAP) experiment. The short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some benefits of this procedure.

Abstract
This review article proposes a comprehensive report of the design strategies engaged in the development of various sulfur-bearing cytotoxic agents. The outcomes of various studies depict that the sulfur heterocyclic framework is a fundamental structure in diverse synthetic analogs representing a myriad scope of therapeutic activities. A number of five-, six- and seven-membered sulfur-containing heterocyclic scaffolds, such as thiazoles, thiadiazoles, thiazolidinediones, thiophenes, thiopyrans, benzothiazoles, benzothiophenes, thienopyrimidines, simple and modified phenothiazines, and thiazepines have been discussed. The subsequent studies of the derivatives unveiled their cytotoxic effects through multiple mechanisms (viz. inhibition of tyrosine kinases, topoisomerase I and II, tubulin, COX, DNA synthesis, and PI3K/Akt and Raf/MEK/ERK signaling pathways), and several others. Thus, our concise illustration explains the design strategy and anticancer potential of these five- and six-membered sulfur-containing heterocyclic molecules along with a brief outline on seven-membered sulfur heterocycles. The thorough assessment of antiproliferative activities with the reference drug allows a proficient assessment of the structure-activity relationships (SARs) of the diversely synthesized molecules of the series.

Abstract
In this research we investigated the preparation of new (5Z, 8Z)-7H-pyrido[2,3-d]azepine derivatives in high yields via multicomponent reaction of isatins, alkyl bromides, activated acetylenic compounds and ammonium acetate using ionic liquid 1-octhyl-3-methyl imidazolium bromide ([OMIM]Br) as a stabilizer and soft template at room temperature in the presence of Fe3O4/TiO2/Carbon nanotubes magnetic nanocomposites as a reusable and effective nanocatalyst that are synthesized using ionic liquid [OMIM]Br as a stabilizer, soft template, green media and moderate base. Because of having a NH group in the synthesized pyridine derivatives, we investigate antioxidant property of some synthesized compounds by diphenyl-picrylhydrazine (DPPH) radical trapping and power of ferric reduction experiment. Short time of reaction, high yields of product, easy separation of catalyst and products are some advantages of this procedure.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Corticosteroids are an important group of polycyclic compounds having a wide range of pharmacological and physiological properties. Thiopyran derivatives are important building blocks of many biologically active compounds. OBJECTIVE Keeping in mind the wide range of applications of corticosteroids and thiopyran, herein we intend to develop a simple and efficient strategy to synthesize steroidal thiopyran derivatives starting with different commercially available corticosteroids and study their biological properties. MATERIALS AND METHODS To achieve our aim, we employed a one-pot multi-component synthesis of steroidal thiopyran derivatives by the reaction of corticosteroids, malononitrile, and carbon disulphide in the presence of triethylamine as a catalyst. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION An array of novel thiopyran compounds was obtained with the highest product yield using Et3N. Scanning electron microscopy analysis manifested agglomeration pertaining to brick-shaped crystals of corticosteroid thiopyran. Synthesized compounds were also found to be active as anti-bacterial agents. CONCLUSION We describe a facile one-pot multi-component synthesis of corticosteroid thiopyran derivatives, which are found to possess anti-bacterial activity. Excellent yields of the products, simple work-up, easily available starting materials, and non-chromatographic purification are some of the main advantages of this protocol.

Abstract
Synthesis of bioactive heterocyclic compounds having effective biological activity is an essential research area for wide-ranging applications. In this study, a conventional methodology has been developed for the synthesis of a series of new 3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole derivatives 4a-f. The purity and structure of the synthesized molecules were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and elemental analysis. In addition, the prepared compounds were screened for their anti-proliferative activity against three human cancer cell lines including A549 (lung cancer), MCF7 (breast cancer) and SKOV3 (ovarian cancer) using MTT reduction assay. All the tested compounds demonstrated remarkable cytotoxic activity with IC50 values ranging from 3.02 to 15.37 µM. The heterocyclic compound bearing 3,4,5-trimethoxy moiety was found to be the most effective among the series displaying an IC50 of 3.02 µM specifically against the ovarian carcinoma cancer cell line (SKOV3). Moreover, Annexin V-FITC/propidium iodide staining assay indicated that this compound can induce apoptosis in SKOV3 cells. Furthermore, cell cycle assay showed a significant cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase in a dose-dependent manner for this compound. The molecular docking results was showed binding modes of potent compound 4d perfectly corroborated the suggestion of binding to the colchicine site. The entire results conclude that 3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole derivatives can be synthesized by a green method for biological and pharmacological applications. New analogs of 3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole potential derivatives for anti-proliferative activity were synthesized. Cytotoxic activity of all synthesized compounds was evaluated against tree human cancer cell lines: lung (A549), breast (MCF7) and ovarian (SKOV3).

Abstract
The anticancer activity of triamterene on HCT116 and CT26 colon cancer cells lines was investigated. Furthermore, the mechanism of interaction between triamterene and calf thymus DNA (ct-DNA) and also human serum albumin (HSA) was conducted using spectroscopic and molecular docking techniques. In vitro cytotoxicity of triamterene against HCT116 and CT26 cells showed promising anticancer effects with IC50 values of 31.30 and 24.45 μM, respectively. Competitive studies of the triamterene with NR (neutral red) and MB (methylene blue) as intercalator probes showed that triamterene can be replaced by these probes. The viscosity data also confirmed that triamterene binds to calf-thymus DNA through intercalation binding mode. Binding properties of triamterene with HSA in the presence of warfarin and ibuprofen showed that triamterene competes with warfarin for the site I of human serum albumin (HSA). In addition, the binding modes of triamterene with DNA and HSA were verified by molecular docking technique. Abstract
Litsea is considered as an evergreen genus distributed in tropical and subtropical Asia; this genus belongs to the large family of Lauraceae. In this study, the cell-death metabolism of biseugenol B was investigated. Nuclear condensation, cell permeability, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and release of cytochrome c have been detected in human prostate cancer cell line (PC3) treated with biseugenol B by high content screening (HCS). Fluorescent analysis was conducted to examine the reactive oxygen species formation. To determine the mechanism of cell death, the levels of Bcl-cell lymphoma (Bcl)-2 proteins, Bcl-2-associated X (Bax) protein and anti-apoptosis heat-shock protein 70 were tested by applying reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blot. Bioluminescent assays were also performed to assess the level of caspases such as 3/7, 8 and 9 during treatment. Furthermore, the involvement of nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) was examined by Western blot and HCS. Biseugenol B showed significant cytotoxicity toward PC3 with no toxicity toward normal prostate cells (RWPE-1), which indicates that biseugenol B has qualities that induce apoptosis in tumor cells. The treatment of PC3 cells with biseugenol B provoked apoptosis with cell-death-transducing signals. Downregulation of Bcl-2 and upregulation of Bax regulated the MMP, which in turn caused the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria into cytosol. The release of cytochrome c activated caspase-9, which consequently activated caspase-3/7 with the cleaved poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase protein, thereby resulting in apoptosis alteration. Involvement of an extrinsic apoptosis pathway was exhibited by the increase in caspase-8, while the increase in caspase-3/7 and caspase-9 demonstrated involvement of an intrinsic apoptosis pathway. Meanwhile, no significant increase was observed in caspases 3/7, 8 or 9 in normal prostate cells (RWPE-1) after treatment with biseugenol B. Prevention of NF-κB translocation from the cytosol to the nucleus occurred in PC3 after treatment with biseugenol B. The results of our study reveal that biseugenol B triggers the apoptosis of PC3 cells via intrinsic and extrinsic apoptosis pathways and inhibition of NF-κB signaling pathway. Our findings suggest that biseugenol B is a potentially useful agent for prostate cancer treatment.

Abstract
Selected hetaryl and aryl thioketones react with acetylenecarboxylates under thermal conditions in the presence of LiClO4 or, alternatively, under high-pressure conditions (5 kbar) at room temperature yielding thiopyran derivatives. The hetero-Diels-Alder reaction occurs in a chemo- and regioselective manner. The initially formed [4 + 2] cycloadducts rearrange via a 1,3-hydrogen shift sequence to give the final products. The latter were smoothly oxidized by treatment with mCPBA to the corresponding sulfones.
