Abstract
Backgrounds With the advent of the big data era, hospital information systems and mobile care systems, among others, generate massive amounts of medical data. Data mining, as a powerful information processing technology, can discover non-obvious information by processing large-scale data and analyzing them in multiple dimensions. How to find the effective information hidden in the database and apply it to nursing clinical practice has received more and more attention from nursing researchers. Aim To look over the articles on data mining in nursing, compiled research status, identified hotspots, highlighted research trends, and offer recommendations for how data mining technology might be used in the nursing area going forward. Methods Data mining in nursing publications published between 2002 and 2023 were taken from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was utilized for reviewing the number of articles, countries/regions, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords. Results According to the findings, the pace of data mining in nursing progress is not encouraging. Nursing data mining research is dominated by the United States and China. However, no consistent core group of writers or organizations has emerged in the field of nursing data mining. Studies on data mining in nursing have been increasingly gradually conducted in the 21st century, but the overall number is not large. Institution of Columbia University, journal of Cin-computers Informatics Nursing, author Diana J Wilkie, Muhammad Kamran Lodhi, Yingwei Yao are most influential in nursing data mining research. Nursing data mining researchers are currently focusing on electronic health records, text mining, machine learning, and natural language processing. Future research themes in data mining in nursing most include nursing informatics and clinical care quality enhancement. Conclusion Research data shows that data mining gives more perspectives for the growth of the nursing discipline and encourages the discipline's development, but it also introduces a slew of new issues that need researchers to address.

Abstract
To systematically evaluate the effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on wound pain and complications in patients after tonsillectomy, with a view to providing a reference basis for future post-tonsillectomy care. According to the developed literature search strategy, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Wanfang, China Biomedical Literature Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure database were systematically searched, from database inception to October 2023, for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of the application of comprehensive nursing interventions in patients undergoing tonsillectomy. Two researchers independently screened the literature, evaluated the risk of bias of the included studies and extracted data in strict accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RevMan 5.4 software was applied for data analysis. Overall, 18 RCTs involving 1954 patients were included, including 967 in the comprehensive nursing group and 987 in the conventional nursing group. The analyses revealed that compared with conventional nursing, patients who received comprehensive nursing interventions had lower postoperative wound pain scores (standardised mean difference [SMD]: -2.30, 95% confidence interval [CI]: -2.19 to -1.70, p < 0.00001), shorter hospital stays (SMD: -1.95, 95% CI: -2.39 to -1.51, p < 0.00001), incidence of postoperative haemorrhage (1.60% vs. 6.41%, odds ratio [OR]: 0.29, 95% CI: 0.12-0.70, p = 0.006) and complication rates (4.21% vs. 19.01%, OR: 0.19, 95% CI: 0.11-0.32, p < 0.00001) was lower. This study concludes as follows: comprehensive nursing intervention applied to tonsillectomy can significantly reduce patients' postoperative wound pain, shorten hospital stay, reduce postoperative bleeding and postoperative complications, which is worthy of being promoted and applied in the clinic.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the various influencing factors for intraoperative pressure sores in patients with craniocerebral microsurgery and provide nursing intervention strategies for surgical pressure sores in a clinical operating room. METHODS This was a case-control study on 2157 patients who underwent craniocerebral microsurgery in the craniocerebral department of the hospital between November 2021 and November 2022. Of these, 62 patients with intraoperative pressure sores were compared with 248 patients without pressure sores during the same period using a 1:4 case-control method. A logistic regression model was used to analyze the effect of possible factors on pressure sores in an operating room. RESULTS The incidence of pressure sores in craniocerebral microsurgery was 2.87%. The logistic regression analysis showed that skin at the pressure site [odds ratio (OR) = 1.759, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.137-2.721], surgical position (OR = 1.727, 95% CI: 1.338-2.228), intraoperative body temperature (OR = 2.229, 95% CI: 1.229-4.042), and surgical time (OR = 2.009, 95% CI: 1.221-3.303) were independent factors for the occurrence of intraoperative pressure sores. CONCLUSIONS The high-risk factors for pressure sores in craniocerebral microsurgery included fasting time, surgical position, intraoperative temperature, and skin at the pressure site. Targeted attention and protection had a positive effect in preventing intraoperative pressure sores in patients who underwent craniocerebral microsurgery.

Abstract
Background Although the incidence of pressure injury in the prone position is high for the mechanically ventilated patients in the intensive care unit, evidence-based strategies are still lacking. Propose To conduct a systematic review of current evidence, and to propose a series of strategies to prevent pressure injuries among mechanically ventilated patients with prone position in the intensive care unit. Methods The study was guided by the Medical Research Council framework. After a systematic review of current evidence of original articles, guidelines, expert consensus and theories, a strategy draft was developed. Then we invited 20 experts to modify and refine these strategies through two rounds of Delphi consensus method. Results After two rounds of Delphi process, the importance of coefficient of variation (Cv) and Kendall's coefficient of concordance in the strategies repository were 0.067 and 0.311, respectively. And the operability of Cv and Kendall's coefficient of concordance in the strategy draft was 0.055 and 0.294, respectively. Ultimately, we established 31 strategies for including 7 themes (assess risk factors, assess skin and tissue, body position management, skin care, nutrition, preventing medical device-related pressure injuries, education and supervision). In addition, we also developed a strategy framework to clarify our strategies. Conclusion According to the Medical Research Council framework, we developed 7 themes and 31 strategies to prevention prone-position pressure injuries among the intensive care unit mechanically ventilated patients. This study was considered to improve the clinical management of pressure injuries among prone position patients in the intensive care unit settings.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To lower the rate of hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) by identifying at-risk patients based on the Braden Scale score, evaluating nutrition using a Mini Nutrition Assessment (MNA) tool, and implementing nutrition improvement measures. METHODS There were three steps in this intervention. First, patients with a Braden Scale score of 18 or lower were identified as being at risk for HAPI. Next, the MNA screening tool was implemented to identify nutrition deficiencies. The MNA screening tool can predict malnutrition, HAPI development, and/or additional complications. It is validated, cost-effective, and easy to administer to patients who are hospitalized with HAPI complications. In the final step, the author implemented a multicomponent nutrition intervention to improve the nutrition status of patients at risk for developing HAPI. RESULTS Included patients (N = 205) were hospitalized in the intermediate ICU, had a Braden Scale score of 18 or lower, and had poor nutrition status. There was a 74% decrease in HAPI rate following the MNA nutrition screening and management, with HAPI incidence decreasing from 1.9% preintervention to 0.5% postintervention. CONCLUSIONS Categorizing patients who are at risk for developing HAPI, assessing for nutrition deficiency, and then implementing a multicomponent nutrition intervention considerably reduced the rate of HAPIs per number of patients admitted to the unit.

Abstract
Human skin wounds pose a gathering threat to the public health, carrying an immense epidemiologic and financial burden. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological (NP) treatments have been proposed to the management of wound healing. Physical exercise is a strong NP intervention considered for patients in wound healing. Particularly, a type of exercise intervention known as whole-body vibration (WBV) exercise has gained increasing interest. WBV exercise is generated due to the transmission of mechanical vibrations, produced by a vibrating platform, to the body. The aim of this review was to summarize studies in experimental animal models using WBV exercise in wound healing. Searches were performed in EMBASE, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science including publications on 21 November 2022 using the string "whole body vibration" AND "wound healing" (animal or mice or mouse or rat or rodent). The SYRCLE tool was used to assess the risk of bias (RoB). From 48 studies, five studies met the inclusion criteria. RoB indicated that none of the studies fulfilled all methodological analyzed criteria, resulting in possible biases. The studies were homogeneous, and results suggest beneficial effects of WBV exercise in wound healing, mainly related to enhancing angiogenesis, granulation tissue formation, reducing the blood glucose level and enhancing blood microcirculation, by increasing myofiber growth and rapid re-epithelialization. In conclusion, the various biological effects of the response to the WBV exercise indicate the relevance of this intervention in wound healing in animals. Moreover, considering the translation approach, it is possible to speculate that the beneficial effects of this non-pharmacological therapy might justify clinical trials for wound healing also in humans, after criterion evaluation.

Improving Administration and Documentation of Enteral Nutrition Support Therapy in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System: Use of Medication Administration Record and Bar Code Scanning Technology. Abstract
OBJECTIVES The goal of this project was to evaluate and improve the ordering, administration, documentation, and monitoring of enteral nutrition therapies within the inpatient setting in a Veteran's Health Administration system. METHODS An interdisciplinary team of clinicians reviewed the literature for best practices and revised the process for enteral nutrition support for hospitalized veterans. Interventions included training staff, revising workflows to include scanning patients and products, including enteral nutrition orders within the medication administration record (MAR), and using the existing bar code medication administration system for administration, documentation, and monitoring. Baseline and postprocess improvement outcomes over a year period were collected and analyzed for quality improvement opportunities. RESULTS Before process change, only 60% (33/55) of reviewed enteral nutrition orders were documented and 40% (22/55) were not documented in the intake flowsheet of the electronic health record. In the year after adding enteral nutrition therapies to the MAR and using bar code scanning, a total of 3807 enteral nutrition products were evaluated. One hundred percent of patients were bar code scanned, 3106/3807 (82%) products were documented as given, 447/3807 (12%) were documented as held (with comments), 12/3807 (<1%) were documented as missing/unavailable, and 242/3807 (6%) were documented as refused. CONCLUSIONS Inclusion of enteral nutrition order sets on the MAR and using bar code scanning technology resulted in sustained improvements in safety, administration, and documentation of enteral therapies for hospitalized veterans.

Abstract
Background Pressure ulcers (PUs) occur when the skin covering a weight-bearing part of the body is compressed for a long time between bone, any other part of the body, bed, chair, or any other hard surface. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of pressure ulcers at a tertiary care hospital in all specialty departments including COVID-19. Methods A retrospective study was conducted at North West General Hospital and Research Center, Peshawar, Pakistan. After obtaining ethical approval, data were obtained from the hospital database from July 2020 to June 2021. The keywords "bed sore," "pressure sore," and "pressure ulcer" were used to search for relevant cases, and patient demographics, including age and gender, site of pressure ulcer, stage of pressure ulcer, whether the pressure ulcer was single or multiple, length of stay at the hospital, and specialty department, were collected. Results In total, 99 patients met the inclusion criteria, of which 65 (65.7%) were males, while 34 (34.3%) were females. The age of the patients ranged from 15 to 92 years, with a mean age of 59.93 years. Of the patients, 87 (87.9%) had acquired only a single pressure ulcer. Stage 2 pressure ulcers were the most documented, making up 43.1% of the total cases reported, while stage 4 cases were only 3.3%. The sites most frequently affected by pressure ulcers were the gluteal and sacral regions, accounting for 34.4% and 30.3%, respectively. The incidence of pressure ulcers was the highest in the COVID-19 ward, i.e., 25.3%, followed by the neurosurgery ward with a 20.2% incidence. Conclusion Pressure ulcers occur frequently in almost all the specialty departments of a healthcare setting, especially in COVID-19 and neurosurgery wards, and impose significant physical, psychological, and financial burdens. The prevention of pressure ulcers is the best approach to avert patients and their families from all the burdens associated with pressure ulcers.

Abstract
AIM This study aimed to investigate the impact of self-efficacy on the relationship between organizational climate and humanistic practice ability (HPA) in Chinese nurses. BACKGROUND To date, studies on the effect of organizational climate on nursing care have focused on care outcomes rather than care processes. Thus, this effect remains poorly understood. METHODS A total of 757 participants were sampled from three tertiary hospitals in Guangdong Province from November to December 2019; subsequently, they completed a structured electronic questionnaire. A structural equation model was used to explore the impact of nursing organizational climate on nurses' HPA. RESULTS A total of 688 valid questionnaires were collected. The nurses' average HPA score was 107.82 (SD 12.47). There was a positive correlation between organizational climate and HPA (r = .409, p < .05). Additionally, self-efficacy mediated this relationship (p < .01). CONCLUSIONS This study provides new insights into nursing organizational climate, self-efficacy and nurses' HPA. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT The significant mediating effect of self-efficacy suggests that managers should implement nurse professional development programmes using targeted strategies to foster greater self-efficacy, which could improve the quality of care and nurse-patient relationships.

Abstract
Malnutrition causes prolonged inflammation, resulting in delayed wound healing. High mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) is a damage-associated molecular pattern that is present in the nuclei of macrophages and is secreted into the extracellular milieu in response to stimuli. It stimulates the production of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) through the receptors for advanced glycation end products (RAGE), inducing an inflammatory response, which is an essential response to initiate wound healing. We hypothesized that malnutrition may interfere with this cascade, causing abnormal inflammation and ultimately delaying wound healing. We used tooth-extracted mice with malnutrition fed with low-casein diet for two weeks. On days 3 and 7 after tooth extraction, the wound tissue was histologically observed and analyzed for several factors in the inflammation-regeneration lineage, including IL-1β, mesenchymal stem cells, myeloperoxidase activity, HMGB1, macrophage polarization, and adenosine 5-triphosphate (ATP). On day 7, delayed wound healing was observed with the following findings under malnutrition conditions: decreased mRNA expression of genes for regeneration and mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) accumulation, an obvious increase in myeloperoxidase and IL-1β mRNA expression, an increase in HMGB1 levels, and an increase in ATP concentration in tissues with elevated proportion of M2 macrophages. These results suggest that the significantly increased secretion of HMGB1 associated with the upregulated production of ATP and IL-1β secretion via the RAGE pathway may interfere with the resolution of inflammation and wound healing under the state of malnutrition.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We evaluated the effects of a specialised oral nutritional supplement (ONS) containing arginine and proline, with high vitamin A, C and E, zinc and selenium content, on the repair of hard-to-heal wounds. METHOD Patients with hard-to-heal wounds were evaluated at five timepoints (S0-S4) over four consecutive weeks. At S0 patients were randomised to the specialised ONS (n=15; 25 wounds) or control (n=15; 25 wounds) groups. Posology was 200ml twice daily over the research period. Wound surface area and perimeter were monitored. In addition to the metric data, it was also possible to calculate the rate of wound contraction and the linear growth of the wound edges, looking for wound-healing predictive factors. RESULTS A total of 30 patients took part in the study. Mean age was 65 years and 50% of patients had diabetes. Of the total evaluated wounds, 78% were <50cm2, 14% were 50-150cm2 and 8% were >250cm2. In 96% of cases, the wounds were in the lower limbs. A statistically significant reduction (p=0.004) in surface area of the wounds due to the specialised ONS, with a performance peak between S1 and S2, was observed. This specialised ONS did not induce changes in blood pressure, blood glucose level or renal function. A mean weekly wound edge growth of 1.85mm in patients with diabetes and 3.0mm in those without diabetes was observed. These results were 2.9 and 4.6 times, respectively, higher than expected, according to the literature. CONCLUSION Specialised ONS can be a therapeutic option for hard-to-heal wounds.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: This study aimed to assess the level of selected biochemical parameters in venous blood and their potential effects on the development of pressure ulcers in patients treated in intensive care settings. Materials and Methods: Fifty patients hospitalised in an intensive care unit (ICU) were enrolled for the study. The methods used included controlled observation, literature review and medical record analysis. The observation protocol applied in the study consisted of two parts comprising the basic information, sociodemographic data, results of laboratory tests (CRP, PCT, albumin, protein and haemoglobin concentrations) as well as the Braden Scale for Predicting Pressure Ulcer Risk. Results: The subjects presented moderate to high risk of pressure ulcers, reflected by the mean score of 8.18 ± 1.3 points, with minimum and maximum scores of 6 and 12 points, respectively. Normal albumin level was identified in only five subjects (10.0%) while 45 subjects (90.0%) were found with results below the norm. A statistical relationship was observed between such variables as albumin concentration (p < 0.01) and total protein level (p = 0.007). The findings show a strong correlation between the score in the Braden Scale and the level of albumins (R = 0.55). Conclusions: In our study, lower concentrations of albumins and total proteins correspond to a greater risk of pressure ulcers.
