Primary retroperitoneal hydatid cyst with unusual clinical manifestation

Although hydatid disease may affect any organ of the body, there are only a limited number of cases where the primary lesion is in the retroperitoneal region. Since the clinical and laboratory findings are nonspecific, the correct preoperative diagnosis may be difficult. A primary retroperitoneal hydatid cyst that was given a preoperative diagnosis of adrenal mass and treated by adrenalectomy and partial nephrectomy is presented and discussed with the relevant literature.

Hydatid disease of the kidney caused by Echinococcus multilocularis: a rare clinical entity

Hydatid disease of the urinary tract is extremely rare and constitutes approximately 4% of all cases of hydatid disease. The Echinococcus multilocularis is a relatively rare form of echinococcus as the cause of renal hydatid disease. We describe a patient who had renal hydatidosis which is rarely caused by the E. multilocularis.

Nephron-sparing surgery in a case of giant renal hydatid cyst

We report a case of a centrally located giant renal hydatid cyst managed successfully by excision of the cyst alone and preserving the renal parenchyma after clamping the main renal artery. Follow-up IVP showed good function.
