Abstract
Every year, more than a million people in the United States undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy for cancer, as estimated by the CDC. While chemotherapy has been an instrumental tool for treating cancer, it also causes severe adverse effects. The more commonly acknowledged adverse effects include hair loss, fatigue, and nausea, but a more severe and longer lasting side effect is cardiotoxicity. Cardiotoxicity, or heart damage, is a common complication of cancer treatments. It can range from mild to severe, and it can affect some patients temporarily or others permanently, even after they are cured of cancer. Dexrazoxane is the only FDA-approved drug for treating anthracycline induced cardiotoxicity, but it also has drawbacks and adverse effects. There is no other type of chemotherapy induced cardiotoxicity that has an approved treatment option. In this review, we discuss the pathophysiology of chemotherapeutic-induced cardiotoxicity, methods and guidelines of diagnosis, methods of treatment and mitigation, and current drug delivery approaches in therapeutic development.

Abstract
Exercise has been found to have numerous benefits for individuals with cancer undergoing treatment. The primary objective of this study was to explore factors that influence the decision to join an exercise trial for individuals with a current diagnosis of breast cancer. A theory-informed survey was administered exploring factors (i.e., attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control) that influenced participants' decision to join the "NEXT-BRCA" exercise trial. Eligible participants included self-reported females over 18 years, diagnosed with stage 1-3 breast cancer undergoing treatment and cleared for exercise by their oncologist. Survey questions were analyzed using descriptive statistics and exploratory analysis was performed to determine if associations existed between personal characteristics (age, physical activity level, co-morbid conditions) and cancer characteristics (treatment received). Seventy-four participants completed the survey. Most participants (85% of respondents) were interested in increasing their level of physical activity. The most common attitudes contributing to participant's decision to participate in the trial included feelings that exercise was beneficial for improving physical (91%) and mental health (89%). Advice from the treating oncologist was ranked as the most important factor influencing their decision to join the trial (73%). Respondents hoped to gain exercise knowledge through educational materials (72%) and a structured exercise program (70%). Findings explore why individuals with breast cancer participate in exercise trials during treatment. This knowledge will enhance recruitment of future studies using similar interventions and assist clinicians to maximize education regarding exercise and access to exercise programs for individuals with breast cancer in the future.

Abstract
Growing evidence has shown a bidirectional link between the cardiologic and oncologic fields. Several investigations support the role of unhealthy behaviors as pathogenic factors of both cardiovascular disease and cancer. We report epidemiological and research findings on the pathophysiological mechanisms linking unhealthy lifestyle to cardiovascular disease and cancer. For each unhealthy behavior, we also discuss the role of preventive measures able to affect both cardiovascular disease and cancer occurrence and progression.

Abstract
Cancer treatment-induced cardiotoxicities are an ongoing concern throughout the cancer care continuum from treatment initiation to survivorship. Several "standard-of-care" primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies are available to prevent the development or further progression of cancer treatment-induced cardiotoxicities and their risk factors. Despite exercise's established benefits on the cardiovascular system, it has not been widely adopted as a nonpharmacologic cardioprotective strategy within cardio-oncology care. In this state-of-the-art review, the authors discuss cancer treatment-induced cardiotoxicities, review the existing evidence supporting the role of exercise in preventing and managing these sequelae in at-risk and affected individuals living after cancer diagnoses, and propose considerations for implementing exercise-based services in cardio-oncology practice.

Abstract
A healthy diet and an active lifestyle are both effective ways to prevent, manage, and treat many diseases, including cancer. A healthy, well-balanced diet not only ensures that the body gets the right amount of nutrients to meet its needs, but it also lets the body get substances that protect against and/or prevent certain diseases. It is now clear that obesity is linked to long-term diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. The main reasons for people being overweight or obese are having bad eating habits and not moving around enough. Maintaining weight in the normal range may be one of the best things to avoid cancer. It has been scientifically proven that those who perform regular physical activity are less likely to develop cancer than those who lead a sedentary lifestyle. Moving regularly not only helps to maintain a normal body weight, avoiding the effects that favor tumor growth in overweight subjects, but also makes the immune system more resistant by counteracting the growth of tumor cells. Physical activity also helps prevent cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. In this review, it is highlighted that the association between the Mediterranean diet and physical activity triggers biological mechanisms capable of counteracting the low-grade chronic inflammation found in patients with cancer. This assumes that healthy lifestyles associated with cancer therapies can improve the expectations and quality of life of cancer patients.

Abstract
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease is a growing threat among cancer patients. Not surprisingly, cancer-targeting therapies have been linked to metabolic dysregulation including changes in local and systemic lipid metabolism. Thus, tumor development and cancer therapeutics are intimately linked to cholesterol metabolism and may be a driver of increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in this population. Chemotherapeutic agents affect lipid metabolism through diverse mechanisms. In this review, we highlight the mechanistic and clinical evidence linking commonly used cytotoxic therapies with cholesterol metabolism and potential opportunities to limit atherosclerotic risk in this patient population. Better understanding of the link between atherosclerosis, cancer therapy, and cholesterol metabolism may inform optimal lipid therapy for cancer patients and mitigate cardiovascular disease burden.

Abstract
Cardiovascular events, ranging from arrhythmias to decompensated heart failure, are common during and after cancer therapy. Cardiovascular complications can be life-threatening, and from the oncologist's perspective, could limit the use of first-line cancer therapeutics. Moreover, an aging population increases the risk for comorbidities and medical complexity among patients who undergo cancer therapy. Many have established cardiovascular diagnoses or risk factors before starting these therapies. Therefore, it is essential to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive cardiovascular events in patients with cancer and to identify new therapeutic targets that may prevent and treat these 2 diseases. This review will discuss the metabolic interaction between cancer and the heart and will highlight current strategies of targeting metabolic pathways for cancer treatment. Finally, this review highlights opportunities and challenges in advancing our understanding of myocardial metabolism in the context of cancer and cancer treatment.
