Abstract
(1) Background: Although abnormal emotion regulation is a key characteristic of youth with prodromal psychotic symptoms and is closely related to the degree of distress caused by these symptoms, research on the internal heterogeneity of emotion regulation within this clinically high-risk population has been insufficient. (2) Methods: The current study analyzed data from 394 college students with prodromal psychotic symptoms, using latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify emotion regulation profiles based on differences in expressive suppression and cognitive reappraisal. One-way ANOVA was employed to examine the relationship between the identified latent profiles and distress of symptoms. (3) Results: Three latent profiles were identified: "high cognitive reappraisal group" (n = 117, 29.70%), "moderate cognitive reappraisal group" (n = 233, 59.14%), and "low cognitive reappraisal group" (n = 44, 11.16%). Significant differences in distress of negative symptoms (F = 9.122, p < 0.05) and perceptual abnormalities (F = 3.103, p < 0.05) were observed across the latent profiles but not in unusual thought content and specific perceptual abnormalities (both p > 0.05). The "low cognitive reappraisal group" exhibited the most severe distress of symptoms, followed by the "moderate cognitive reappraisal group", while the "high cognitive reappraisal group" experienced the least distress. (4) Conclusions: The current study provides evidence for the heterogeneity of emotion regulation among youth with prodromal psychotic symptoms and reveals differences in distress of perceptual abnormalities and negative symptoms between the latent profiles of emotion regulation. These findings support the development of targeted psychological interventions to alleviate the distress of symptoms and improve quality of life.

Abstract
Symptoms of schizophrenia (SZ) typically emerge during adolescence to young adulthood, which gives a window before full-blown psychosis for early intervention. Strategies for preventing the conversion from the prodromal phase to the psychotic phase are warranted. Heterozygous (Het) Disc1 mutant mice are considered a prodromal model of SZ, suitable for studying psychotic conversion. We evaluated the preventive effect of chronic N-acetylcysteine (NAC) administration, covering the prenatal era to adulthood, on the reaction following the Amph challenge, which mimics the outbreak or conversion of psychosis, in adult Het Disc1 mice. Biochemical and morphological features were examined in the striatum of NAC-treated mice. Chronic NAC treatment normalized the Amph-induced activity in the Het Disc1 mice. Furthermore, the striatal phenotypes of Het Disc1 mice were rescued by NAC including dopamine receptors, the expression of GSK3s, MSN dendritic impairments, and striatal PV density. The current study demonstrated a potent preventive effect of chronic NAC treatment in Disc1 Het mice on the acute Amph test, which mimics the outbreak of psychosis. Our findings not only support the benefit of NAC as a dietary supplement for SZ prodromes, but also advance our knowledge of striatal dopamine receptors, PV neurons, and GSK3 signaling pathways as therapeutic targets for treating or preventing the pathogenesis of mental disorders.

Abstract
Emerging evidence suggests that Internet-based interventions for people with psychosis (ICBTp) are feasible and efficacious. However, predictors of adherence and treatment outcomes are largely unknown. To narrow this research gap, we conducted secondary analyses on data from a randomized controlled trial, which evaluated an eight-week ICBTp intervention targeting topics, such as voice hearing, mindfulness, and others. In n = 100 participants with psychosis, we aimed at identifying sociodemographic, psychopathological, and treatment-related predictor variables of post-treatment symptoms and adherence (i.e., at least four completed modules). We followed a two-stage approach. First, we conducted regression analyses to examine the effect of single candidate predictors on post-treatment symptoms as well as adherence. Subsequently, we selected variables that met a significance threshold of p < .1 and entered them into linear and logistic multiple regression models. Whereas no variable was able to predict adherence, the number of completed modules was negatively associated with self-reported delusion severity at post-treatment. Additionally, higher pre-treatment insight predicted fewer hallucinations after treatment. Because this was one of the first studies to investigate predictors in ICBTp, more research is needed to customize future interventions to the needs of users.

Abstract
CONTEXT Interventions that teach patients cognitive and behavioral strategies for managing cancer pain have demonstrated effectiveness. Systematic reviews of such interventions call for research to inform their implementation in practice, including investigations into which patients are most likely to benefit. OBJECTIVES We aimed to identify predictors of response to an evidence-based behavioral intervention for cancer pain, pain coping skills training (PCST). METHODS We conducted an exploratory secondary analysis of a randomized noninferiority trial comparing in-person to videoconference-based PCST. Using modified Poisson regression, we estimated the adjusted associations of patient characteristics with clinically meaningful reductions (≥30%) in pain severity and pain interference. RESULTS Of the 178 patients who were randomized, 135 completed at least one follow-up assessment and were included in this analysis. Proportions of patients experiencing reductions in pain severity and pain interference were 34% and 46%, respectively. In multivariable analysis, education level was associated with a reduction in pain severity (adjusted relative risk, some college or technical school vs. college or higher: 0.49, 95% CI: 0.26-0.93). Patients with colorectal cancer were 61% more likely to experience a reduction in pain interference than patients with breast cancer (95% CI:1.21-2.34). Marital status was also statistically significantly associated with pain interference reduction, with married patients less likely to experience a reduction in pain interference (adjusted relative risk, married vs. not: 0.69, 95% CI: 0.49-0.98). CONCLUSION Our findings elucidate several subgroups of patients who may be especially likely to benefit from PCST, informing both targeted implementation efforts and opportunities to improve delivery for diverse patients.

Abstract
Introduction: The prevention of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders has led researchers to focus on early identification of individuals at clinical high risk (CHR) for psychosis and to treat the at-risk symptoms in the pre-psychotic period. Although at-risk symptoms such as attenuated hallucinations or delusions are common in adolescents and associated with a marked reduction in global functioning, the evidence base of effective interventions for adolescents at CHR state and even first-episode psychosis is limited. Thus, the present protocol describes a study design that combines therapy modules for CHR adolescents with a smartphone application supporting the young individuals between the therapy sessions. The treatment approach "Robin" is based on existing therapy strategies for adolescents with first episode of psychosis and the available recommendations for adults with at-risk symptoms. Methods: The evaluation aims firstly to compare the efficacy of Robin in 30 CHR adolescents aged 14-18 to an active control group (treatment as usual) from a previous study. Primary outcome measures will be at-risk symptomatology, comorbid diagnosis, functioning, self-efficacy, and quality of life. For the prospective intervention condition (16 weekly individual sessions + a minimum 4 family sessions), help-seeking adolescents with CHR for psychosis, aged 14-18, will be recruited over 3 years. At-risk and comorbid symptoms, functioning, self-efficacy, and quality of life are monitored at six time points (baseline, during the treatment period; immediately after intervention; and 6, 12, and 24 months later) and compared with the respective measures of the active control group. Discussion: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first controlled trial to test the efficacy of a specific early psychosis treatment in combination with a smartphone application for adolescents at CHR for developing psychosis. The results of the study are expected to add information that may substantially decrease the burden of CHR adolescents and increase their resilience. It may offer age-adapted and targeted strategies to guide clinicians in the treatment of these vulnerable individuals.
