Abstract
Lymphangiomas are rare benign cystic tumors. Surgical excision is the primary treatment, aiming for complete removal. Diagnosis relies on imaging and histological confirmation. Malignant transformation is exceptionally rare. We report a 25-year-old man admitted for peri-umbilical abdominal pain and an abdominal mass. Imaging revealed multilocular peritoneal cystic formations with infiltration of adjacent mesenteric fat. Laboratory findings were unremarkable, and exploratory laparotomy was performed. A voluminous cystic mass originating from the mesentery was discovered, requiring intestinal sacrifice for complete resection. Immediate postoperative recovery was smooth. Pathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of mesenteric cystic lymphangioma. The patient had a favorable outcome with no tumor recurrence at a three-year follow-up. We emphasize the significance of complete surgical removal to prevent complications associated with cystic lymphangioma and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Abstract
A mesenteric cystic lymphangioma (MCL) is a rare condition that primarily manifests in children. This case report illustrates an unusual presentation of an MCL causing a small bowel obstruction with volvulus in an adult. We present a 31-year-old male who presented to our hospital with a small bowel obstruction. He underwent laparotomy, and a lymphatic mass acting as a lead point and causing small bowel volvulus was discovered intra-operatively. The patient underwent a small bowel with associated mass resection and primary anastomosis; he recovered well. The final pathology demonstrated an MCL. Despite the MCL being a rare entity in adults, it must be considered as the differential for various abdominal pathologies. Although the majority of these masses lack malignant potential, they should be resected, as they pose a risk of mechanical obstruction, torsion, and perforation. Prior descriptions include individual case reports of symptomatic lesions, proposed non-operative management, and follow-up imaging.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE Hemolymphangioma, a rare type of lymphangioma, is a benign hamartoma of the blood vessels and lymphatic system. Considered to be extremely rare among adults with infrequent occurrence in abdominal regions, lymphangioma involving mesentery accounts for <1 % of cases and only 0.05 % involve the GI tract. Due to the absence of typical clinical presentation, making a confirmatory preoperative diagnosis is challenging. CASE PRESENTATION An 18-year-old Bangladeshi man visited the hospital with the complaints of epigastric and umbilical pain for 15 days which was insidious in onset. Physical examination revealed an ill defined lump that was palpable on the right side of the abdomen. Ultrasonography showed multiloculated cystic mass having septation approximately 13 × 6 cm in size. An abdominal CT scan showed cystic lesion with septations measuring about 14.5 × 12.3 cm, compressing the bowel loops towards left, that was suggestive of mesenteric lymphangioma. The patient underwent partial surgical resection. The excised mass was sent for histopathology. Histopathology disclosed a benign tumor composed of proliferation of blood vessels of different sizes lined by endothelium in a fibromuscular stroma. CLINICAL DISCUSSION Mesenteric lymphangiomas are infrequent malformations and very few cases of mesenteric hemolymphangioma have been reported in adults. Histopathology is required for confirmatory diagnosis and immunohistochemistry is required to differentiate the tumor subtype. Surgical resection is deemed a standard treatment modality. CONCLUSION We report an extremely rare case of mesenteric hemolymphangioma to bring it to concern that even with the vague clinical presentations and involvement of age groups beyond the status quo, surgeons must be vigilant about abdominal MCL/hemolymphangioma and proceed accordingly.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND IMPORTANCE Mesenteric cystic lymphangioma (MCL) is a rare benign intraperitoneal mass with congenital origin, and it is extremely rare in adults. Mesentery is an unusual location for cystic lymphangioma too. Clinical presentations are nonspecific, and diagnosis is challenging. It can mimic other surgical complications like appendicitis or any acute abdomen causes, so the review of cases is necessary for the best management and surgical planning. CASE PRESENTATION We have presented a 22-year-old man presented with complaints of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. In laparotomy, a cyst was found with large size around the small intestine which caused mesenteric ischemia and changed the color of the small bowel to an ischemic view. The resected cyst was sent and confirmed by the pathology as lymphangiomatosis. MCL is a rare cause of obstruction, which was found accidentally in this case. CLINICAL DISCUSSION MCLs are clinically challenging lesions with unspecific broad spectrum of clinical presentation ranges. We discuss a rare finding in an adult with intestinal volvulus and mesenteric ischemia. Medical literature and reviews have been searched to find more relevant information about MCLs for the better optimal planning in surgery. CONCLUSION MCL is a challenging and infrequent case of surgery. Most of the time, it does not cause any complications, but it can also cause some life-threatening conditions like mesenteric ischemia or volvulus and lead to emergent surgery. Complete tumor removal is optimal for managing intra-abdominal cystic lymphangioma with the slightest chance of recurrence.

Abstract
Introduction Cystic lymphangioma is a benign malformation tumor of the lymphatic system. Its location is variable, and mesenteric localization remains extremely rare. Case presentation We describe a rare case of cystic lymphangioma of the mesentery in a 26 years old woman. The diagnosis was suspected following an abdominopelvic computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), showing a large polylobulated cyst in contact with the stomach, the tail of the pancreas, the spleen, and the antero-external cortex of the left kidney. The patient underwent laparoscopic surgery with a pericystectomy. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of cystic lymphangioma of the mesentery. The patient's postoperative recovery was uneventful. After a Follow up of one year after surgery, there was no evidence of recurrence. Clinical discussion Cystic lymphangioma of the mesentery is a benign malformation tumor of the lymphatic system. Its clinical aspects are very polymorphic; the diagnosis is evoked by radiological imaging but requires pathological confirmation. Surgery is the gold standard in the management of this pathology. Conclusion We highlight the importance of radical surgical resection to avoid Cystic lymphangioma complications and minimize the recurrence risk. The mesenteric location of cystic lymphangioma remains extremely rare. Preoperative diagnosis is usually challenging The final diagnosis is made upon pathology study. Complete en-bloc resection is the gold standard treatement.

Abstract
Background Lymphangioma is a non-epithelial tumor marked by aggregates of abnormally dilated lymphatics. Mesenteric occurrences account for < 1% of all cases, and < 0.05% involve the gastrointestinal tract. Most are confined to children, rarely affecting adults. Case presentation Herein, we describe an elderly Japanese woman with anemia, hypoalbuminemia, and episodic bleeding due to multiple intestinal lymphangiomas. Abdominal computed tomography revealed multiple low-density defects of mesentery, with areas of intermediate (T1 images) or high (T2 images) signal intensity similarly dispersed in magnetic resonance scanning sequences. Single-balloon enteroscopy was undertaken, enabling identification and tattooing of a small intestinal bleeding source. Laparoscopy-assisted resection at this site served to control related hemorrhage, removing a histologically confirmed hemolymphangioma. Having recovered uneventfully, the patient remained stable 2 months postoperatively. Conclusions Although rare in adults, mesenteric or gastrointestinal lymphangiomas must be considered in a setting of anemia and hypoalbuminemia. Complete resection is advantageous to improve patient symptoms, but limited resection of multiple lesions may be equally effective.

Abstract
Lymphangioma is a benign lymphatic system tumor, often congenital, mainly affecting lymph nodes in various anatomic localizations. Postnatally mostly common lymphangioma manifestation occurs during the first year of life.
Today it can be readily diagnosed prenatally.
Diagnosis is based on non-invasive visualization, such as sonography and computed tomography.
The objective: is to present clinical case of manifest fetal lymphangioma diagnosed during pregnancy.
Fetal ultrasound (US) was performed at 28, 32, 34 weeks of gestation. As a result fetus was diagnosed with hypoechogenic mass in right axillary region, growing in dynamics gradually from 34×28 mm, 38×34 mm to 49×37 mm. Mass had clear even contours, hyperechogenic capsule with fine dispersed suspension content. Color doppler imaging showed avascular mass character.
After delivery at 37–38 weeks of gestation (planned Cesarean section) at newborn examination we visualized asymmetric soft elastic consistency protrusion along right midclavicular and anterior axillary region.
Described clinical case of fetal lymphangioma is a good illustration of dynamic prenatal and postnatal dynamic observation and its US interpretation.

Abstract
Mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas are rare benign lesions characterized by lymphatic vessels malformation with an unknown etiology. Although, mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas are rare but should be included in the differential diagnosis of abdominal pain. Surgical resection of mesenteric lymphangiomas should be performed as fast as possible to avoid many serios complications.
Introduction and importance Mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas are rare benign lesions of the abdominal cavity characterized by lymphatic vessels malformation with an unknown etiology. Despite the silent clinical course of mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas, they are considered as clinically tricky lesions with an immense spectrum of presentations. Case presentation We present a case of abdominal mesenteric cystic lymphangioma in a 1-year 9-month-old female patient, who complained of fever and abdominal pain for 10 days duration. Laboratory investigations, abdominal X-ray, ultrasonography, computed tomography and histopathological examination were all used to establish the diagnosis. Clinical discussion A trial of true-cut biopsies performed by an interventional radiologist was not informative, so a multidisciplinary team decision was made to excise the mass. Intraoperative findings include multiloculated fused cystic lesion (8.0 × 5.0 × 4.0 cm) on the descending mesocolon. Histopathological examination revealed the diagnosis of a mesenteric cystic lymphangioma. The postoperative period was not complicated. Conclusion Mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas are mostly asymptomatic in nature, yet predisposed to life threating events. Surgical excision is the modality of treatment characterized by low recurrence rate and a non-complicated postoperative period.

Abstract
The objective was to prepare guidelines to perform the current optimum treatment by organizing effective and efficient treatments of hemangiomas and vascular malformations, confirming the safety, and systematizing treatment, employing evidence-based medicine (EBM) techniques and aimed at improvement of the outcomes. Clinical questions (CQs) were decided based on the important clinical issues. For document retrieval, key words for literature searches were set for each CQ and literature published from 1980 to the end of September 2014 was searched in Pubmed, Cochrane Library, and Japana Centra Revuo Medicina (JCRM). The strengths of evidence and recommendations acquired by systematic reviews were determined following the Medical Information Network Distribution System (MINDS) technique. A total of 33 CQs were used to compile recommendations and the subjects included efficacy of resection, sclerotherapy/embolization, drug therapy, laser therapy, radiotherapy, and other conservative treatment, differences in appropriate treatment due to the location of lesions and among symptoms, appropriate timing of treatment and tests, and pathological diagnosis deciding the diagnosis. Thus, the Japanese Clinical Practice Guidelines for Vascular Anomalies 2017 have been prepared as the evidence-based guidelines for the management of vascular anomalies.

Abstract
The objective was to prepare guidelines to perform the current optimum treatment by organizing effective and efficient treatments of hemangiomas and vascular malformations, confirming the safety and systematizing treatment, employing evidence‐based medicine techniques and aimed at improvement of the outcomes. Clinical questions (CQ) were decided based on the important clinical issues. For document retrieval, key words for published work searches were set for each CQ, and work published from 1980 to the end of September 2014 was searched in PubMed, Cochrane Library and Japana Centra Revuo Medicina databases. The strengths of evidence and recommendations acquired by systematic reviews were determined following the Medical Information Network Distribution System technique. A total of 33 CQ were used to compile recommendations and the subjects included efficacy of resection, sclerotherapy/embolization, drug therapy, laser therapy, radiotherapy and other conservative treatment, differences in appropriate treatment due to the location of lesions and among symptoms, appropriate timing of treatment and tests, and pathological diagnosis deciding the diagnosis. Thus, the Japanese Clinical Practice Guidelines for Vascular Anomalies 2017 have been prepared as the evidence‐based guidelines for the management of vascular anomalies.

Abstract
Background Lymphangiomas are uncommon congenital malformations that present mainly in the head, neck, and axillar regions in pediatric patients. Mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas (MCLs), which occasionally present with substantial growth and the invasion of adjacent vital structures, are rarely reported in adults. We report a case of MCL in an adult who was treated with laparoscopic-assisted excision. Case presentation A 40-year-old Japanese man visited his family physician for prolonged periumbilical pain. Plain computed tomography (CT) showed a low-density mass in his left abdomen, and he was referred to our hospital 2 weeks later. His abdomen was flat and soft, and no mass was felt upon palpation. Routine laboratory data showed no abnormalities in the blood cell counts. The levels of tumor markers, such as carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), and cancer antigen 125 (CA125), were within normal ranges. Contrast-enhanced CT was performed, and a low-density mass was observed with an irregular outline and poor contrast, as well as involvement of the peripheral mesenteric artery and partial compression of the adjacent jejunum without dilatation of the oral side of the bowel. The patient was diagnosed with lymphatic cysts and observed for 1 month without symptom exacerbation. Follow-up CT showed no increase in the size of the mass but showed apparent invasion of the jejunal wall without bowel obstruction. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed intermediate intensity on T1-weighted imaging (T1WI) and high intensity on T2-weighted imaging (T2WI). The coronal view on T2WI clearly showed an accumulation of cystic lesions. We performed tumor excision with partial resection of the jejunum in a laparoscopic-assisted manner. Pathological examination showed multicystic lesions with an attenuated endothelial lining, surrounding rich adipose tissue and scattered smooth muscle fibers; the patient was diagnosed with MCL. Immunohistochemical assays supported this diagnosis. Conclusions This is rare case of MCL presenting in an adult who underwent successful laparoscopic-assisted resection. Mesenteric lymphangioma (ML) should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients with intraabdominal cysts. Radical excision is optimal, even when the patient is asymptomatic. Laparoscopic-assisted tumor resection is a suitable surgical method for treating MLs located in the peripheral mesentery.

Abstract
Abdominal lymphangiectasia is a rare disease manifestation with a variety of anatomic locations and clinical presentations. The gastrointestinal tract may be affected, and lymphangiectasia originating in the wall of the intestine has rarely been described. We present a case of primary small bowel lymphangiectasia causing intussusception in a 30-year-old woman who presented with emesis and gastrointestinal bleeding. This case emphasizes the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management in adults with abdominal lymphangiectasia. We highlight the importance of a high clinical suspicion for lymphangiectasia in an adult with acute abdomen to avoid catastrophic morbidity.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Cystic lymphangioma is a benign malformative tumor. The abdominal localization is rare. The diagnosis is not easy in preoperative period. The surgery is the choice in the abdominal and symptomatic localization. PRESENTATION OF CASE We report a 26 years old women. She consulted with left hypochondrial pain. The exam found left hyphochondrial swelling with 10 cm of diameter. The biologic screeming was normal. The ultrasound showed a multiloculated cyst which measured 130*80 mm. the CT scan showed a mesenteri cyst mass measured 15 cm. A fine needle aspiration cytology guided by abdominal ultrasound was realized and the cytology doesn't show malignant cell. A median laparotomy found a mesenteric cystic mass measured 15 cm of diameter. A resection was realized. The histologic exam membranous fibrosis cyst limited by an endothelium. CONCLUSION Mesenteric localization of cyst lymphagioma is rare. The surgery is safe and efficiency for the treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mesenteric lymphangioma (ML) in adults is a very rare disease. We report six hospitalized adult patients with ML in our hospital between January 2013 and July 2018 to investigate the characteristics and prognosis of ML in adults.
CASE SUMMARY The male-to-female ratio was 3:3, and the median age at diagnosis was 55.2 years. Clinical manifestations varied; however, most were acute cases (5/6). No history of trauma was reported. None (0/6) of the patients were accurately diagnosed with ML in the emergency and outpatient departments. Mesenteric cysts were identified in four patients (66.7%) by abdominal ultrasound and in five patients (83.3%) by computed tomography. ML was postoperatively confirmed by pathology. Most MLs (4/6) were associated with infection of other systems. ML was located in the mesentery of the small intestine (n = 4), ileum (n = 1) and rectum (n = 1). Cyst fluid was clear (n = 4), chylous (n = 1) and bloody (n = 1). Surgical procedures included complete tumor removal and partial intestinal excision (n = 6). Recurrence and adhesive intestinal obstruction were not observed during the 3-12 mo follow-up period.
CONCLUSION ML in adults is a rare benign acquired disease that can be cured by surgical treatment. Infection may be a cause of ML.

Abstract
Cystic lymphangioma of small bowel mesentery is rare with clinical features ranging from an asymptomatic abdominal lump to acute intestinal obstruction. We discuss two cases of lymphangioma of small bowel mesentery who presented to us as acute intestinal obstruction. In the first case exploratory laparotomy revealed a large multicystic lesion arising from small bowel mesentery just distal to the duodenojejunal junction having multiple small cysts filled with milky white fluid. The involved region of the bowel was excised. The second case had a large multicystic lesion involving the mesentery of proximal jejunum, dudenojejunal junction, encasing the entire superior mesenteric vessels. For this patient, debulking was done.

Abstract
Colonic lymphangioma is an unusual benign malformation. We herein describe two cases. A 36-year-old woman was admitted with one year of intermittent abdominal pain; colonoscopy, abdominopelvic computed tomography and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) revealed enlarged cystic masses at the ascending colon. In another 40-year-old man, colonoscopy and EUS revealed an asymptomatic lobulated cystic mass with four small sessile polyps at the sigmoid colon. Both patients underwent laparoscopic segmental colectomy. Both masses were histologically confirmed as cystic lymphangiomas, and the patients were discharged without complications. The management of colonic lymphangioma depends on the individual situation; close surveillance or endoscopic therapy may be appropriate for asymptomatic lesions smaller than 2.5 cm in diameter. Surgical intervention can be considered for larger lesions or in patients who develop complication risks. Laparoscopic segmental colon resection may be recommended to excise relatively large submucosal lesions because it is a definitive, minimally invasive intervention with a fast postoperative recovery.

Abstract
Mesenteric lymphangiomas are uncommon benign lesions that usually occur in isolation but rarely may be associated with gastrointestinal (GI) malrotation. Malrotation may cause chronic and recurrent volvulus leading to chronic venous congestion and lymphatic engorgement. Interference with lymphatic drainage may result in formation of a lymphangioma or a chylous mesenteric cyst. In our case, mesenteric lymphangioma was present with partial malrotation of small and large bowel. There was no radiological and surgical evidence of volvulus, favouring the hypothesis that lymphangioma may be a primary congenital association of GI malrotation. Another interesting finding was the counter-clockwise twisting of the superior mesenteric vein around the superior mesenteric artery which has been reported only seven times in the literature.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION We present a rare case of mesenteric lymphangioma in a middle-aged female. PRESENTATION OF CASE A 56-year-old female was admitted to the hospital with upper abdominal pain. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a multicystic mass surrounding the mesentery. We made the decision to resect the mass, suspecting that was a mesenteric lymphangioma based on additional imaging studies. The tumor adhered strongly to parts of the duodenum and the upper jejunum. In order to preserve the jejunum, we dissected its serosa away from the tumor. Approximately 1 week after surgery the patient experienced a constriction of the third portion of the duodenum. Her symptoms were improved with conservative therapy, and she was discharged from the hospital 62 days after surgery. DISCUSSION Lymphangioma originating from the mesentery may have cause adhesions due to exfoliated tumor cells; it is necessary to be concerned about postoperative obstruction. CONCLUSION The preoperative diagnosis of lymphangioma is based on various imaging modalities.

Abstract
A 34-year-old patient was scheduled for valve replacement to treat a symptomatic mitral regurgitation. The preoperative work-up incidentally discovered an intra-abdominal cystic tumour extending from the epigastrium to the pelvic region on a computed tomography scan. The patient had no abdominal symptoms by the giant cyst from unkown origin. An open "en bloc" resection disclosed a large cyst in the mesocolon. Pathological examination, including immunohistochemistry, enabled the diagnosis of a mesenteric cystic lymphangioma. Long-term follow-up of 12 months shows no recurrence. Mesenteric cystic lymphangioma, which is extremely rare in adults, is a challenge to diagnose and needs complete resection to ensure dignity and to avoid recurrence.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Lymphangioma is an uncommon malformation of lymphatic system. Multiple colonic lymphangioma named as lymphangiomatosis is considered an extremely rare disease. PRESENTATION OF CASE We report a case of colonic lymphangiomatosis presenting as recurrent right iliac fossa pain in a young female treated surgically. DISCUSSION Lymphangiomatosis is a rare but benign disease with a variety of presentations. There are few reported cases in the literature at present and no guidelines regarding the diagnosis or treatment of the same. CONCLUSION Our case demonstrates an unusual presentation of lymphangiomatosis treated surgically. Debate will remain on this rare condition.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate epidemiologic, clinical, pathologic and therapeutic characteristics of the mesenteric cysts in hospitals of Sergipe, Brazil. METHODS Mesenteric cysts were assessed by a non-interventional cross-sectional study from the archives of the Pathology Laboratory of Federal University of Sergipe between 1995 and 2007. The charts of the patients were reviewed in order to find out: gender, age, clinical findings, complementary exams and therapeutic approach. RESULTS Eighteen cases of mesenteric cysts were found. Females were more affected (72.2%). Mean of age of the patients was 30.46. More frequent symptoms were pain and abdominal mass. Ultrasonography of abdomen, performed in all patients, was not conclusive in half of the cases. CTscan of abdomen with contrast was performed in six cases, being cystic tumor well identified in all of them. Regarding histopathology, 6 lymphangiomas, 8 mesotheliomas, 1 hemorrhagic cyst in organization and 1 mucinous cyst were found. Surgical treatment was performed in all cases. Intracystic bleeding was the main complication in 3 cases. CONCLUSION The mesenteric cysts presented clinically with unspecific symptoms. CTscan was more effective than ultrasonography for the diagnosis. Lymphangiomas and mesothelioma had been found in equal ratios. The complete resection of the cyst was the treatment of election. There were no deaths in postoperative period.

Abstract
Mesenteric cyst lymphangiomas (MCLs) are rare benign tumours of unknown aetiology seen mostly in children. Clinical presentation can be diverse ranging from incidental abdominal cysts to an acute abdomen. A 24-year-old previously fit and healthy young man presented with a 2-week history of cramping, central abdominal pain and vomiting requiring acute hospital admission. He was a diagnostic conundrum despite extensive preoperative investigations. Recurring symptoms required urgent surgical exploration, resection and histological confirmation with a successful outcome. We review the literature and present here this rare case in an adult of MCL that has the potential to grow, invade and develop major life-threatening complications.

Abstract
Complicated midgut volvulus is a surgical emergency with high mortality rate if not treated promptly. Most of midgut volvulus in adults is a silent form of congenital midgut malrotation, but it also can be acquired from other medical conditions, such as adhesion bands, tumors, and mesenteric cysts. Posttraumatic mesenteric pseudocysts are rare entities, and the diagnosis tends to be delayed. In reviewing the medical literature, midgut volvulus as a delayed consequence of posttraumatic hemorrhagic mesenteric pseudocyst has never been reported before. Here, we report a 50-year-old female patient who had experienced blunt abdominal injury 3 months earlier and midgut volvulus that resulted from a delayed posttraumatic hemorrhagic pseudocyst. The patient was successfully treated with surgical intervention.

Abstract
Mesenteric lymphangioma is a rare benign tumor with nonspecific clinical features. A case series of three adult patients who had mesenteric lymphangioma is reported along with a review of literature. Two patients presented with painless abdominal swelling who were being managed as a case of abdominal tuberculosis and a third one had features of intestinal obstruction. In our cases, preoperative diagnosis of mesenteric lymphangioma was not suspected and all the patients had laparotomy. Peroperative findings revealed mesenteric masses, which were simulating cavitatory form of mesenteric node tuberculosis. It is stressed that mimicking of mesenteric lymphangioma with a cavitatory form of tuberculosis of mesenteric nodes in areas of high prevalence may lead to its misdiagnosis. Histopathology confirmed diagnosis of mesenteric lymphangioma in each case. Although rare and difficult to diagnose preoperatively, surgical resection is to be considered gold standard treatment for mesenteric lymphangioma.

Abstract
Mesenteric lymphangiomas are rare abdominal masses that are seldom associated with small bowel volvulus, and especially in adult patients. We report here on an unusual case of small bowel volvulus that was induced by a mesenteric lymphangioma in a 43-year-old man who suffered from repeated bouts of abdominal pain. At multidetector CT, we noticed whirling of the cystic mesenteric mass and the adjacent small bowel around the superior mesenteric artery. Small bowel volvulus induced by the rotation of the mesenteric lymphangioma was found on exploratory laparotomy. Lymphangioma should be considered as a rare cause of small bowel volvulus in adult patients.

Abstract
Mesenteric cystic lymphangioma is an uncommon benign abdominal mass. Two cases of mesenteric cystic lymphangioma are presented, both in combination with malrotation and intermittent volvulus. Both mesenteric cystic lymphangiomas were located near the duodenojejunal junction, the usual area of torsion in case of a volvulus. These findings suggest that mesenteric cystic lymphangioma could have evolved as a consequence of chronic intermittent volvulus. We hypothesize that in patients with malrotation and volvulus, mesenteric cystic lymphangioma may be regarded as an acquired anomaly.
