Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM Childhood picky eating occurs when there is limited intake or variety of food and/or unwillingness to try new foods. Within research settings, standardised assessments are used to describe picky eating behaviours in children. However, little is known about assessment practices of occupational therapists. Similarly, occupational therapy interventions for picky eating in the literature focus on; providing strategies for parents, and working with the child on self-feeding skills. Despite this, interventions and strategies utilised by occupational therapists in clinical practice within an Australian health-care context are unknown. This study examines Australian health professionals' observations of picky eating behaviours, the use of childhood picky eating assessments and interventions, and differences between occupational therapists and other professionals. METHODS Health professionals (n = 179) were recruited through professional organisations, such as Occupational Therapy Australia. Participants completed an online survey between March and May 2021. Independent variables were reported using descriptive statistics, with logistic regression used to consider differences between occupational therapists and other health professionals. Conventional content analysis was used to analyse responses to open-ended questions. RESULTS The final sample included 109 eligible participants, with an average of 8.5 years working with picky eaters. Results indicated picky eating behaviours aligned with those reported in the literature. Participants relied on clinical observations and workplace designed assessments. The most common interventions were education, coaching, and the sequential oral sensory approach to feeding. Occupational therapy participants were significantly more likely than other health professional participants to report always using coaching and education. CONCLUSION Although few health professionals used standardised or validated assessments, the use of education and coaching by occupational therapists aligned with the literature. Results highlight the need for more rigorous investigation to determine the sensitivity of current assessments to differentiate between clinical and typical picky eating, and the effectiveness of interventions for childhood picky eating.

Abstract
AIMS The aim of this study was to investigate the extent, range and nature of research activity specifically reporting the inclusion of the voices of children or adolescents when therapists are setting therapy goals and implementing therapy. METHODS We conducted a scoping review and searched the following electronic bibliographic databases: Pedro, SciELO, Google Scholar, MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science and CINAHL. We included primary studies focusing on involvement of children and/or adolescents in goalsetting, decision-making or conduct of physical or occupational therapy. Results are presented descriptively and narratively. RESULTS Nineteen studies were included presenting various instruments or strategies for involvement. We found sparse evidence that children and adolescents with disabilities were included in therapy goal setting using goal setting instruments, especially children under 5 years of age or with communicative or cognitive disabilities. CONCLUSIONS There are few studies reporting the way in which the voices of children or adolescents are heard in therapy. Further research is needed to develop new methods and studies with stronger designs are needed to determine the extent to which listening to children's voices affects therapeutic outcomes.

Abstract
Patients after pediatric stroke typically experience varying extent of motor and cognitive impairments. During rehabilitation, these impairments are often treated as separate entities. While there is a notion claiming that motor and cognitive functions are interrelated to some degree in healthy children, a minimal amount of evidence exists regarding this issue in patients after pediatric stroke. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between motor abilities and executive functions in patients after pediatric arterial ischemic stroke. Twenty-seven patients (6 - 23 years) diagnosed with pediatric arterial ischemic stroke in the chronic phase (≥ 2 years after diagnosis, diagnosed < 16 years) and 49 healthy controls (6 - 26 years) were included in this study. Participants completed six tasks from standardized neuropsychological tests assessing the dimensions of executive functions, namely working memory, inhibition, and shifting. Additionally, we assessed hand strength and upper limb performance with two tasks each. In the patient group, the association between upper limb performance and executive functions was stronger than between hand strength and executive functions. Our results point toward the idea of a close interrelation between upper limb performance and executive functions. Training more complex and cognitively engaging motor abilities involving upper limb performance rather than basic motor abilities such as hand strength during a rehabilitation program may have the power to foster executive function development and vice versa in patients after stroke.

Abstract
RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a qualidade de vida (QV) de crianças/adolescentes com diagnóstico de acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) segundo as percepções do responsável e das próprias crianças/adolescentes comparados com um grupo controle (GC). Participaram 78 sujeitos divididos em: Grupo de crianças/adolescentes que tiveram histórico de AVC (GAVC, n=39) e um Grupo de crianças/adolescentes saudáveis como Controle (GC, n=39), sendo pareados por sexo e idade. Utilizou-se de entrevista semiestruturada para descrever os aspectos sociodemográficos e do instrumento Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQLTM 4.0) para avaliar a QV dos sujeitos no seu desenvolvimento. A mediana de idade do diagnóstico de AVC do GAVC foi sete meses, sendo que a maioria apresentou AVC isquêmico (71,8%) e hemiparesia. De acordo com os responsáveis do GAVC, a Capacidade Funcional dos seus filhos foi significativamente diferente, apresentando inferioridade em relação ao GC. Para os responsáveis também a variável escolaridade do pai manteve efeito positivo significativo nos aspectos emocionais da criança, e a variável idade da criança/adolescente e tempo do AVC >29 dias de vida apresentou efeito negativo nos aspectos escolares. Já para as crianças/adolescentes, a variável idade em que entrou na escola e gênero apresentou efeito significativo negativo no desfecho de aspectos escolares em relação ao GC. Concluímos que a percepção dos responsáveis difere da percepção da criança/adolescente em relação à capacidade funcional desta; a escolaridade do pai influenciou positivamente nos aspectos emocionais da criança, e as crianças sentem-se com um prejuízo no desempenho escolar, principalmente os meninos.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of this paper was to critically review the recent literature on psychosocial and behavioral outcome following childhood stroke, to assess whether quality of life is affected and to investigate the factors related to psychosocial outcome. METHODS Literature searches were conducted and identified 36 relevant papers from the period 1908-2016. RESULTS The systematic review found that many children experience difficulties in a wide range of psychosocial domains. Quality of life can also be significantly reduced. Inconsistent findings regarding the correlates of outcome are likely due to methodological limitations. These issues include small and heterogeneous samples, lack of control groups, and measurement difficulties. CONCLUSIONS This systematic review strongly indicates that childhood stroke can affect a myriad of psychosocial domains and a child's quality of life. Methodological issues, particularly around heterogeneous samples and measures, limit the conclusions that can be drawn regarding the predictors of outcome.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to examine long-term outcomes of nonpharmacological intervention in children and adolescents with stroke utilizing repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to the primary motor cortex combined with constraint- induced movement therapy (CIMT) to improve motor function in the paretic hand. Outcome measures included function, satisfaction, and medical status review. METHODS Fourteen of the original 19 participants (74%) from our rTMS/CIMT clinical trial (real rTMS+CIMT, n = 8; and sham rTMS+CIMT, n = 6) were evaluated. The median age of the subjects at follow up was 13.4 years (range 11-20 years old, 50% male). Median time to follow-up was 47.5 months (range 21-57 months). Descriptive statistics were conducted using frequencies and counts. Motor performance was measured using the Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA) and Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM). Satisfaction was reported with use of the COPM and TMS Tolerance Survey. Open-ended interview was conducted for feedback on study experience and subjective perspectives of current functional status. RESULTS Overall, seven of eight individuals who received real rTMS and five of six individuals who received sham rTMS maintained or improved AHA scores. Six of 14 participants reported new onset of co-occurring conditions (four individuals in the real rTMS group, two individuals in the sham rTMS group). The majority (86%) of participants reported study satisfaction. Review of medical status revealed co-occurring conditions including: Epilepsy, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, unspecified mood disorder, and undiagnosed inattentiveness. CONCLUSIONS Long-term outcomes of rTMS/CIMT in pediatric stroke were investigated. Variability in performance and unattributed symptoms were noted. Considering the prevalence of co-occurring conditions in children and adolescents with stroke, new-onset symptoms were not attributed to original intervention. With the small sample size, the impact of rTMS on long-term outcomes cannot be fully determined from these data. Characterizing long-term outcomes through performance, participant perspectives, and medical status allows comprehensive assessment of rTMS/CIMT intervention efficacy.

Abstract
AIM The International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health, Child-Youth version (ICF-CY) provides a framework for describing and evaluating health, intervention outcomes, and needs assessment. It can, however, also serve as a system for classifying the focus of outcome studies and identification of gaps in current knowledge. METHOD The paediatric arterial ischaemic stroke (AIS) population was targeted. Multiple databases were systematically searched for AIS outcome studies focussing on functioning or disability. Findings were rated using the ICF-CY framework. RESULTS Twenty-eight studies were identified. Most were cross-sectional and age range at assessment varied widely. Sixty-seven different standardized measures were used, predominantly evaluating body functions. The most common domains of activity and participation reported were learning and applying knowledge, general tasks and demands, and self-care skills. Health-related quality of life was measured in nine papers. Environmental factors were rarely evaluated. INTERPRETATION AIS outcome studies addressing the relationship between body structures and functions (e.g. brain lesion characteristics, neurological examination findings) and activities, participation, and quality of life have emerged in recent years. Comparison of findings across studies is complicated by design and tool selection. The relationship between components of activity limitation and participation restriction is rarely explored.
