Abstract
OBJECTIVES People with dementia (PwD) and their care partners (CP) may have difficulties in emotion regulation, and individual differences in emotion regulation may be related to PwD's neuropsychiatric symptoms. This study explores whether there is self-awareness of PwD's difficulties in emotion regulation and whether CP's emotion regulation relates to the PwD's neuropsychiatric symptoms, potentially revealing bias or interpersonal effects. METHOD We used data from the Wish Outcome Obstacle Plan Study with a sample of 45 PwD and their spousal CP (n = 90 individuals). Multivariate linear regression models were used to investigate the associations between the CP-reported neuropsychiatric symptoms in PwD and self-reports of emotion regulation in both dyad members, net of sociodemographic and health factors. Separate analyses were conducted for each neuropsychiatric subsyndrome and each domain of difficulties in emotion regulation. RESULTS Increasing severity of neuropsychiatric symptoms was associated with higher difficulties in emotion regulation in PwD (ß = 1.23, p < 0.05), but not with CP's difficulties in emotion regulation. When CP reported more severe neuropsychiatric symptoms in PwD, PwD reported that they had difficulties in accepting emotions, controlling impulses, goal-directed behaviors, and accessing emotion regulation strategies, but not in emotion awareness and clarification. Proxy-reports of hyperactivity and psychosis subsyndromes are significantly related to PwD's self-reported difficulties in emotion regulation. CONCLUSION PwD reported difficulties in emotion regulation at the early stage of dementia. Proxy-reported neuropsychiatric symptoms may capture PwD's emotion regulation capability and not be biased by CP's difficulties in emotion regulation.

Abstract
Trust propensity (TP) relies more on social than economic rationality to transform the perceived probability of betrayal into positive reciprocity expectations in older adults with normal cognition. While deficits in social rationality have been observed in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), there is limited research on TP and its associated resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) mechanisms in this population. To measure TP and related psychological functions (affect, motivation, executive cognition, and social cognition), MCI (n = 42) and normal healthy control (NHC, n = 115) groups completed a one-shot trust game and additional assessments of related psychological functions. RSFC associated with TP was analyzed using connectome-based predictive modeling (CPM) and lesion simulations. Our behavioral results showed that the MCI group trusted less (i.e., had lower TP) than the NHC group, with lower TP associated with higher sensitivity to the probability of betrayal in the MCI group. In the MCI group, only negative CPM models (RSFC negatively correlated with TP) significantly predicted TP, with a high salience network (SN) contribution. In contrast, in the NHC group, positive CPM models (RSFC positively correlated with TP) significantly predicted TP, with a high contribution from the default mode network (DMN). In addition, the total network strength of the NHC-specific positive network was lower in the MCI group than in the NHC group. Our findings demonstrated a decrease in TP in the MCI group compared to the NHC group, which is associated with deficits in social rationality (social cognition, associated with DMN) and increased sensitivity to betrayal (affect, associated with SN) in a trust dilemma. In conclusion, our study contributes to understanding MCI-related alterations in trust and their underlying neural mechanisms.

Abstract
Social dysfunction is a maladaptive process of coping, problem solving, and achieving one's goals. A new definition of apathy was cross-linked to social dysfunction, with a reduced goal-directed behavior and social interaction as a separate dimension. We hypothesized that these two neuropsychiatric symptoms may be included in the mild behavioral impairment diagnostic framework, operationalizing and standardizing late-life neuropsychiatric symptom assessment, to improve risk determination of dementia. Social dysfunction and apathy were transdiagnostic and prodromic for late-life cognitive disorders. A transdiagnostic approach could provide a useful mean for a better understanding of apathy and related conditions such as social behavior.

Abstract
Increasing attention has been paid to the 'voice' of people living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, but there is a lack of clarity about how everyday life is perceived from this insider's perspective. This study aimed to explore the everyday life experiences, challenges and facilitators of individuals with MCI and dementia living at home. A scoping review of qualitative studies, guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute Reviewers Manual, was conducted. Eight databases were searched, resulting in 6345 records, of which 58 papers published between 2011 and 2021 were included. Analysis was carried out by descriptive content analysis. Findings were categorized into seven spheres of everyday life: experiences related to the condition, self, relationships, activities, environment, health and social care and public opinions. The results show many disruptions and losses in everyday life and how people try to accommodate these changes. In all areas of everyday life, people show a deep desire to have reciprocal relationships, stay engaged through participation in activities and have a sense of belonging in the community. However, more research is needed on the factors that promote and impede the sense of reciprocity and belonging.
