Abstract
Malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRTs) are rare tumors with high mortality rates and poor prognoses. MRTs occur mainly in the central nervous system, kidneys, and soft tissues, but rarely in the omentum. MRTs occur more commonly in infants and children and less frequently in adults. Here, we report the first observed case of MRT in an adult omentum. A 35-year-old man with abdominal distension and pain was admitted to the emergency department. Previously, several hospitals considered patients with cirrhosis who had not received active treatment. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed diffuse omental thickening and massive ascites. The surgery was performed at our hospital, and the pathological diagnosis was MRT with a SMARCB1(INI-1) deletion. Postoperatively, his symptoms improved, and he underwent five cycles of chemotherapy. However, 6 months after surgery, the tumor developed liver metastases, and the patient subsequently died. Primary MRT of the greater omentum is rare, and its pathological diagnosis usually requires extensive clinicopathological evaluation of various differential diagnoses and an appropriate work-up to exclude other malignancies associated with SMARCB1 deletion. At the same time, the lack of specific signs of omental MRT and its rapid progression should alert clinicians.

Abstract
The 2015 WHO classification of pleural mesotheliomas includes three major histologic subtypes-epithelioid, sarcomatoid, and biphasic. Recent genomic data has supported the need for a more granular and clinically valid classification beyond the three current subtypes. Because of tumor rarity and overlapping histologic features with other tumor types, diagnostic immunohistochemical work up is essential component in establishing the final diagnosis of mesothelioma. The use of BAP1 and CDKN2A/MTAP improves the diagnostic sensitivity of effusion specimens and are valuable in establishing the diagnosis of epithelioid mesothelioma. The major change in the forthcoming WHO classification is the inclusion of mesothelioma in situ as a diagnostic category. In this review, we discuss recently proposed changes in the histologic classification of pleural mesothelioma, differential diagnosis, and importance of ancillary diagnostic studies.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary liver malignancy with a high global prevalence and a dismal prognosis. Studies are urgently needed to examine the molecular pathogenesis and biological characteristics of HCC. Chromatin remodelling, an integral component of the DNA damage response, protects against DNA damage‐induced genome instability and tumorigenesis by triggering the signalling events that activate the interconnected DNA repair pathways. The SWI/SNF complexes are one of the most extensively investigated adenosine triphosphate‐dependent chromatin remodelling complexes, and mutations in genes encoding SWI/SNF subunits are frequently observed in various human cancers, including HCC. The mutated SWI/SNF complex subunits exert dual functions by accelerating or inhibiting HCC initiation and progression. Furthermore, the abnormal SWI/SNF complexes influence the transcription of interferon‐stimulated genes, as well as the differentiation, activation and recruitment of several immune cell types. In addition, they exhibit synergistic effects with immune checkpoint inhibitors in the treatment of diverse tumour types. Therefore, understanding the mutations and deficiencies of the SMI/SNF complexes, together with the associated functional mechanisms, may provide a novel strategy to treat HCC through targeting the related genes or modulating the tumour microenvironment.

Abstract
The WHO Classification of Lung Tumors (2015) established the use of immunohistochemical stainings for resection specimens, however, detailed recommendations had been missing. Now, an international expert panel has summarized key questions for daily routine practice and provided recommendations to assist the community in the appropriate use of immunohistochemistry in this context. This article provides an overview of the most important aspects.

Abstract
Since the 2015 WHO classification was introduced into clinical practice, immunohistochemistry (IHC) has figured prominently in lung cancer diagnosis. In addition to distinction of small cell versus non-small cell carcinoma, patients' treatment of choice is directly linked to histologic subtypes of non-small cell carcinoma, which pertains to IHC results, particularly for poorly differentiated tumors. The use of IHC has improved diagnostic accuracy in the classification of lung carcinoma, but the interpretation of IHC results remains challenging in some instances. Also, pathologists must be aware of many interpretation pitfalls, and the use of IHC should be efficient to spare the tissue for molecular testing. The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Pathology Committee received questions on practical application and interpretation of IHC in lung cancer diagnosis. After discussions in several International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer Pathology Committee meetings, the issues and caveats were summarized in terms of 11 key questions covering common and important diagnostic situations in a daily clinical practice with some relevant challenging queries. The questions cover topics such as the best IHC markers for distinguishing NSCLC subtypes, differences in thyroid transcription factor 1 clones, and the utility of IHC in diagnosing uncommon subtypes of lung cancer and distinguishing primary from metastatic tumors. This article provides answers and explanations for the key questions about the use of IHC in diagnosis of lung carcinoma, representing viewpoints of experts in thoracic pathology that should assist the community in the appropriate use of IHC in diagnostic pathology.
