Abstract
BACKGROUND Hypomobility syndrome (HMS), or limited hip range of motion (ROM), is often reported in adolescents who train heavily. This study was aimed to investigate the impact of traditional static stretching (STR) and self-myofascial release (MFR) in adolescents with HMS hip. METHODS This study was a randomized controlled trial. Adolescent athletes with HMS hip were grouped as 23 STR and 23 MFR. Foam rolling was employed as the training method for MFR. Both interventions were performed twice a day for 20 minutes in 6 weeks. The training was filmed and distributed via the mobile video. Self-assessed Copenhagen Hip & Groin Outcome Score, ROM, strength, and hop tests were measured before and after the interventions. The healthy side without limitations was designated as non-HMS (nHMS) and taken as reference value. RESULTS The study participants had limitations in flexion (FLX), abduction (ABD), internal rotation (IR), and external rotation (ER). The ROM of STR group was recovered to nHMS level. The FLX and ABD of MFR group was also recovered, however the IR and ER had lower angles compared to nHMS. MFR FLX, ABD, ER strength, and single hop test were restored like that of nHMS, however STR group was substantially lower than nHMS despite the improvements. Both groups depicted lower pre-intervention Copenhagen Hip & Groin Outcome Score subscale activities daily living, sport, and physical activity compared to nHMS. Activities daily living and physical activity were improved to healthy levels after the intervention, however sport was lower than that of nHMS. CONCLUSION Both STR and MFR had impact on hip mobility and hip self-assessment score. Furthermore, MFR had strength improvements in FLX, ABD, and ER. However, the improvements in MFR group regarding triples, crossover hops, and self-assessed sports were limited. Therefore, STR and MFR are effective in improving not only ROM but also muscle function asymmetry in HMS hip.

Abstract
This study aims compare the spatiotemporal and kinematic running parameters obtained by the WalkerView (Tecnobody, Bergamo, Italy) with those recorded by a optoelectronic 3D motion capture system. Seventeen participants were simultaneously recorded by the WalkerView and a motion capture system during running tests on the WalkerView at two different speeds (i.e., 8 km/h and 10 km/h). Per each parameter and speed the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), and the mean of the difference (MOD) and limits of agreement (LOAs) indexes obtained from Bland-Altman analysis were used to compare the two systems. ICCs show an excellent agreement for the mean step time and the cadence at both testing speeds (ICC=0.993 at 8 km/h; ICC=0.998 at 10 km/h); a lower agreement was found for all the kinematic variables. Small differences for some spatio-temporal parameters and greater differences for the kinematic variables were found. Therefore, WalkerView could represent a practical, accessible, and less expensive tool for clinicians, researchers, and sports trainers to assess the characteristics spatio-temporal parameters of running in non-laboratory settings.

Abstract
The worldwide popularisation of running as a sport and recreational practice has led to a high rate of musculoskeletal injuries, usually caused by a lack of knowledge about the most suitable running technique for each runner. This running technique is determined by a runner's anthropometric body characteristics, dexterity and skill. Therefore, this study aims to develop a motion capture-based running analysis test on a treadmill called KeepRunning to obtain running patterns rapidly, which will aid coaches and clinicians in assessing changes in running technique considering changes in the study variables. Therefore, a review and proposal of the most representative events and variables of analysis in running was conducted to develop the KeepRunning test. Likewise, the minimal detectable change (MDC) in these variables was obtained using test-retest reliability to demonstrate the reproducibility and viability of the test, as well as the use of MDC as a threshold for future assessments. The test-retest consisted of 32 healthy volunteer athletes with a running training routine of at least 15 km per week repeating the test twice. In each test, clusters of markers were placed on the runners' body segments using elastic bands and the volunteers' movements were captured while running on a treadmill. In this study, reproducibility was defined by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and MDC, obtaining a mean value of ICC = 0.94 ± 0.05 for all variables and MDC = 2.73 ± 1.16° for the angular kinematic variables. The results obtained in the test-retest reveal that the reproducibility of the test was similar or better than that found in the literature. KeepRunning is a running analysis test that provides data from the involved body segments rapidly and easily interpretable. This data allows clinicians and coaches to objectively provide indications for runners to improve their running technique and avoid possible injury. The proposed test can be used in the future with inertial motion capture and other wearable technologies.

Abstract
Lower body implants are designed according to the boundary conditions of gait data and tested against. However, due to diversity in cultural backgrounds, religious rituals might cause different ranges of motion and different loading patterns. Especially in the Eastern part of the world, diverse Activities of Daily Living (ADL) consist of salat, yoga rituals, and different style sitting postures. A database covering these diverse activities of the Eastern world is non-existent. This study focuses on data collection protocol and the creation of an online database of previously excluded ADL activities, targeting 200 healthy subjects via Qualisys and IMU motion capture systems, and force plates, from West and Middle East Asian populations with a special focus on the lower body joints. The current version of the database covers 50 volunteers for 13 different activities. The tasks are defined and listed in a table to create a database to search based on age, gender, BMI, type of activity, and motion capture system. The collected data is to be used for designing implants to allow these sorts of activities to be performed.

Abstract
Back injury is a common musculoskeletal injury reported among firefighters (FFs) due to their nature of work and personal protective equipment (PPE). The nature of the work associated with heavy lifting tasks increases FFs' risk of back injury. This study aimed to assess the biomechanics movement of FFs on personal protective equipment during a lifting task. A set of questionnaires was used to identify the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain experienced by FFs. Inertial measurement unit (IMU) motion capture was used in this study to record the body angle deviation and angular acceleration of FFs' thorax extension. The descriptive analysis was used to analyze the relationship between the FFs' age and body mass index with the FFs' thorax movement during the lifting task with PPE and without PPE. Sixty-three percent of FFs reported lower back pain during work, based on the musculoskeletal pain questionnaire. The biomechanics analysis of thorax angle deviation and angular acceleration has shown that using FFs PPE significantly causes restricted movement and limited mobility for the FFs. As regards human factors, the FFs' age influences the angle deviation while wearing PPE and FFs' BMI influences the angular acceleration without wearing PPE during the lifting activity.

Abstract
Abstract
Aiming at problems of low optimization accuracy and slow convergence speed in the gait optimization algorithm of lower limb exoskeleton robot, a novel gait multi-objectives optimization strategy based on beetle swarm optimization (BSO)-elite opposition-based learning (EOL) levy flight foraging (LFF) algorithm was proposed. In order to avoid the algorithm from falling into the local optimum, the EOL strategy with global search capability, the LFF strategy with local search capability and the dynamic mutation strategy with high population diversity were introduced to improve optimization performance. The optimization was performed by establishing a multi-objectives optimization function with the robot’s gait zero moment point (ZMP) stability margin and driving energy consumption. The joint comparative tests were carried out in SolidWorks, ADAMS and MATLAB software. The simulation results showed that compared with the particle swarm optimization algorithm and the BSO algorithm, the ZMP stability margin obtained by the BSO-EOLLFF algorithm was increased, and the average driving energy consumption was reduced by 25.82% and 17.26%, respectively. The human-machine experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness and superiority. The robot could realize stable and smooth walking with less energy consumption. This research will provide support for the application of exoskeleton robot.

Abstract
Extracting data from {Zhu, 2019 #5} daily life activities is important in biomechanical applications to define exact boundary conditions for the intended use-based applications. Although optoelectronic camera-marker based systems are used as gold standard tools for medical applications, due to line-of-sight problem, there is a need for wearable, affordable motion capture (MOCAP) systems. We investigate the potential use of a wearable inertial measurement unit (IMU) based-wearable MOCAP system for biomechanical applications. The in vitro proof of concept is provided for the full lower body consisting of hip, knee, and ankle joints via controlled single-plane anatomical range of motion (ROM) simulations using an electrical motor, while collecting data simultaneously via opto-electronic markers and IMU sensors. On 15 healthy volunteers the flexion-extension, abduction-adduction, internal-external rotation (ROM) values of hip and, the flexion - extension ROM values of the knee and ankle joints are calculated for both systems. The Bland-Altman graphs showed promising agreement both for in vitro and in vivo experiments. The maximum Root Mean Square Errors (RMSE) between the systems in vitro was 3.4° for hip and 5.9° for knee flexion motion in vivo, respectively. The gait data of the volunteers were assessed between the heel strike and toe off events to investigate the limits of agreement, calculating the population averages and standard deviation for both systems over the gait cycle. The maximum difference was for the ankle joint <6°. The results show that proposed system could be an option as an affordable-democratic solution.
