Abstract
Aromatization-driven deconstruction and functionalization of spiro dihydroquinazolinones via dual photoredox/nickel catalysis is developed. The aromatization effect was introduced to synergistically drive unstrained cyclic C-C bond cleavage, with the aim of overcoming the ring-size limitation of nitrogen-centered radical induced deconstruction of carbocycles. Herein, we demonstrate the synergistic photoredox/nickel catalyzed deconstructive cross-coupling of spiro dihydroquinazolinones with organic halides. Remarkably, structurally diverse organic halides including aryl, alkenyl, alkynyl, and alkyl bromides were compatible for the coupling. In addition, this protocol is also characterized by its mild and redox-neutral conditions, excellent functional group compatibility, high atom economy, and easy scalability. A telescoped procedure involving condensation and ring-opening/coupling was found to be accessible. This work provides a complementary strategy to the existing radical-mediated C-C bond cleavage of unstrained carbocycles.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the asymmetric synthesis of fluorenols has been developed through an enantioconvergent process enabled by Pd(ii)/chiral norbornene cooperative catalysis. This approach allows facile access to diverse functionalized chiral fluorenols with constantly excellent enantioselectivities, applying readily available racemic secondary ortho-bromobenzyl alcohols and aryl iodides as the starting materials.

Abstract
An iron-catalyzed photochemical sulfinamidation of hydrocarbons with N-sulfinylamines has been developed. The merger of ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) of FeCl3 with hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) process is the key for the generation of alkyl radicals from hydrocarbons, and the resultant alkyl radicals were readily trapped by N-sulfinylamines to produce structurally diverse sulfinamides. Contrary to traditional methods that inevitably use sensitive organometallic reagents and prefunctionalized substrates, our approach features simple operation and the wide availability of starting materials. Gratifyingly, the reaction is scalable, and the obtained sulfinamides can be conveniently converted to highly functionalized sulfur(VI) derivatives.

Abstract
State-of-the-art strategies for alkene-hydroxyazidation, which yield a mixture of β-azido alcohol and β-azido peroxide, must rely on phosphine reagents to improve the chemoselectivity. To overcome the above problems, we present a photochemical hydroxyazidation of alkenes via Mn-mediated ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) in O2, which activates N3- to •N3 and incorporates O2 to be used as an oxygen source in the hydroxyazidation products. Broad alkene range and step-economy chemistry for the hydroxyazidation transformation were also demonstrated.

Abstract
Understanding deracemization is crucial for progress in chiral chemistry, especially for improving separation techniques. Here, we first report the phenomenon of chiral flipping (or reverse deracemization) in a chiral material (i.e., sodium chlorate crystals) during Viedma deracemization, employing a small-volume reactor system for precise analysis. We observe considerable chiral flipping, influenced by the initial imbalance in the numbers of L- and D-form particles. We developed a simple probabilistic model to further elucidate this behavior. We find that the fluctuation in the populations of chiral crystal particles resulting from their random dissolution and regeneration is the key factor behind chiral flipping. This study not only brings to light this intriguing observation of chiral flipping but also contributes to the enhancement of deracemization techniques.

Abstract
The development of new synthetic methods for B-H bond activation has been an important research area in boron cluster chemistry, which may provide opportunities to broaden the application scope of boron clusters. Herein, we present a new reaction strategy for the direct site-selective B-H functionalization of nido-carboranes initiated by photoinduced cage activation via a noncovalent cage···π interaction. As a result, the nido-carborane cage radical is generated through a single electron transfer from the 3D nido-carborane cage to a 2D photocatalyst upon irradiation with green light. The resulting transient nido-carborane cage radical could be directly probed by an advanced time-resolved EPR technique. In air, the subsequent transformations of the active nido-carborane cage radical have led to efficient and selective B-N, B-S, and B-Se couplings in the presence of N-heterocycles, imines, thioethers, thioamides, and selenium ethers. This protocol also facilitates both the late-stage modification of drugs and the synthesis of nido-carborane-based drug candidates for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT).

Abstract
Stereoselective α-amino C-H epimerization of exocyclic amines is achieved via photoredox catalyzed, thiyl-radical mediated, reversible hydrogen atom transfer to provide thermodynamically controlled anti/syn isomer ratios. The method is applicable to different substituents and substitution patterns about aminocyclopentanes, aminocyclohexanes, and a N-Boc-3-aminopiperidine. The method also provided efficient epimerization for primary, alkyl and (hetero)aryl secondary, and tertiary exocyclic amines. Demonstration of reversible epimerization, deuterium labeling, and luminescence quenching provides insight into the reaction mechanism.
