Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate how sociodemographic factors influence educational modality preferences in people with cardiometabolic disease. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study performed in people with diabetes and cardiovascular disease, who completed a questionnaire to denote their previous experience and ranked preferences for different educational modalities. RESULTS The questionnaire was completed by 3751 people, of whom 59% were men, median (interquartile range) age was 68 (59-76) years, and 78% were White European. In total, 73% had diabetes, 35% had heart disease, and 10% had history of stroke; the majority (83.4%) had one of these conditions. Overall preference was for one-to-one education (77% ranked first choice), and telephone education ranked the lowest. People tended to prefer modalities they had previously experienced. CONCLUSIONS We highlight the importance of considering factors that could influence selection of educational modalities including age, ethnicity, gender and educational level. We anticipate this approach will aid in the design, delivery and tailoring of educational programmes that are accessible to the diverse cohort of people living with chronic diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS Given the influence of multiple demographic factors and previous experiences on expressed preferences, providers should support individuals to make informed decisions about educational interventions to maximise engagement.

Abstract
Objectives Elder abuse is a significant concern worldwide. Several factors are reported to increase the risk for elder abuse, but little is known about which factors are most relevant to immigrant communities. This study explored perceptions of risk factors for elder abuse among older immigrants, which is the first step toward designing effective interventions. Methods This cross-sectional quantitative study was conducted between 2017 and 2019 in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada and involved a convenience sample (N = 173) of older women and men from Chinese, Korean, Punjabi, and Tamil immigrant communities. Participants completed a questionnaire about the frequency and importance of risk factors of elder abuse in their respective community. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data within each immigrant community and analysis of variance to compare the factor ratings across communities. Results The immigrant communities differed (p < .05) in their perception of the risk factors. Factors rated as frequent and important (x̅ > 2.0 – midpoint of the rating scale) were social isolation, financial dependence, and lack of knowledge of English for Korean; financial dependence, physical dependence, and emotional dependence for Chinese; lack of knowledge of English, emotional dependence, and physical dependence for Tamil; and social isolation for Punjabi. Conclusion The findings highlight the need for collaboration among public health and social services to work with immigrant communities in co-designing interventions to address these key risk factors and thereby reduce the risk of elder abuse.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The Self- and Family Management Framework (SFMF) was created in 2006 and revised in 2015 to guide research on self- and family management of chronic conditions. There has been no review of use of the SFMF. PURPOSE We reviewed articles citing the SFMF to identify the frequency and nature of use. METHOD We conducted a citation analysis, searching Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar databases and extracted key data from identified articles. FINDINGS Of 126 articles, 84(66%) cited the 2006 SFMF, 37(29%) cited the 2015 SFMF, and 6(5%) cited both. The SFMF was used most to inform study design. Users noted strengths (e.g., considers family context) and limitations (e.g., non-specification of patient- family caregiver synergies) of the framework. DISCUSSION The SFMF has been used broadly to guide research on self- and family management of chronic conditions. Findings will inform development of a third version of the SFMF.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Internet- and mobile-based mental health interventions have the potential to narrow the treatment gap in ethnic groups. Little evidence exists on the cultural adaptation of such interventions. Cultural adaptation of evidence-based interventions distinguishes between surface and deep structure adaptation. Surface refers to matching materials (e.g., illustrations, language) or methods of treatment delivery to the target population, whereas deep structure adaptation considers cultural concepts of distress (CCD). So far, CCD have only been considered to a limited extent in cultural adaptation of psychological interventions, and there is a lack of well documented adaptation procedures. AIMS With a cross-disciplinary and mixed-method approach, following a new conceptual framework for cultural adaptation of scalable psychological interventions, this study aimed to develop both surface and deep structure adaptations of an internet- and mobile-based intervention called Hap-pas-Hapi for the treatment of psychological distress among Albanian migrants in Switzerland and Germany. METHODS A qualitative ethnopsychological study was conducted to examine the target group's CCD. Focus group discussions, an online survey, and individual key informant interviews were utilised to evaluate the original intervention, adaptation drafts and the final adapted intervention. A reporting system was developed to support the decision-making process and to report all adaptations in a transparent and replicable way. RESULTS The ongoing involvement of target population key informants provided valuable feedback for the development of a more person-centred intervention, which might enhance treatment acceptance, motivation and adherence. DISCUSSION This study provides empirical and theory-based considerations and suggestions for future implementation that may foster acceptability and effectiveness of culturally adapted evidence-based interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parents of children born preterm with a disability often experience profound psychological distress with transition from neonatal to rehabilitation services. Four interventions were found effective to support parents throughout this critical transition period whereby parental stress can threaten the child's development. PURPOSE To examine parents' perceptions of the acceptability of four evidence-based interventions to support their transition. METHODS A quantitative design using survey methods was employed with 24 parents with experience in transition to rehabilitation services. Each participant rated the acceptability of the interventions using the Treatment Perception and Preference scale. Descriptive statistics and repeated measures analysis of variance were used for data analysis. RESULTS Mean overall acceptability scores differed across the four interventions (p = .042); the difference was of moderate size (η2 = .11). Parents perceived psychoeducation and narrative therapy as most acceptable, followed by website consultation with healthcare providers and parent support program, then parent self-help program. CONCLUSIONS Psychoeducation and narrative therapy should be accessible to parents experiencing transition from neonatal to rehabilitation services.
