Abstract
Objective: Higher prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis and associated traits has been observed among transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth, and the number of TGD youth requesting evaluation for autism is growing. This study explored the demographic and clinical profiles of TGD youth evaluated in a specialty autism clinic. Method: Retrospective autism evaluation results for 41 TGD youth aged 5-18 years and 67 cisgender-matched controls were included in the study. Results: Approximately, half of TGD youth were diagnosed with autism (TGDASD+; n = 19 vs. TGDASD-; n = 22). There were no group differences in sex assigned at birth, gender identity, FSIQ, race, or ethnicity. Compared to TGDASD- (allistic) youth, TGD autistics had significantly lower adaptive functioning and were more likely to have an IEP eligibility of ASD. Anxiety and mood disorders were more common in TGD youth, whereas language disorders were more prevalent in cisgender controls. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was more common among TGDASD- youth (72%) than TGDASD+ youth (47%), though not significantly. Conclusions: TGD youth with school-based IEP eligibilities of ASD and lower adaptive functioning are more likely to be diagnosed with ASD upon medical evaluation. The combination of identifying as TGD and having ADHD may heighten suspicion for ASD. Asking about gender identity during autism evaluations for children middle school-aged and older is recommended.

Abstract
There is uncertainty among researchers and clinicians about how to best measure autism spectrum dimensional traits in adults. In a sample of adults with high levels of autism spectrum traits and without intellectual disability (probands, n = 103) and their family members (n = 96), we sought to compare self vs. informant reports of autism spectrum-related traits and possible effects of sex on discrepancies. Using correlational analysis, we found poor agreement between self- and informant-report measures for probands, yet moderate agreement for family members. We found reporting discrepancy was greatest for female probands, often self-reporting more autism-related behaviors. Our findings suggest that autism spectrum traits are often underrecognized by informants, making self-report data important to collect in clinical and research settings.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Sex differences pose a challenge and an opportunity in biomedical research. Understanding how sex chromosomes and hormones affect disease-causing mechanisms will shed light on the mechanisms underlying predominantly idiopathic sex-biased neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, schizophrenia, and autism. Gene expression is a crucial conduit for the influence of sex on developmental processes; therefore, this study focused on sex differences in gene expression and the regulation of gene expression. The increasing interest in microRNAs (miRNAs), small, non-coding RNAs, for their contribution to normal and pathological neurodevelopment prompted us to test how miRNA expression differs between the sexes in the developing brain. METHODS High-throughput sequencing approaches were used to identify transcripts, including miRNAs, that showed significantly different expression between male and female brains on day 15.5 of development (E15.5). RESULTS Robust sex differences were identified for some genes and miRNAs, confirming the influence of biological sex on RNA. Many miRNAs that exhibit the greatest differences between males and females have established roles in neurodevelopment, implying that sex-biased expression may drive sex differences in developmental processes. In addition to highlighting sex differences for individual miRNAs, gene ontology analysis suggested several broad categories in which sex-biased RNAs might act to establish sex differences in the embryonic mouse brain. Finally, mining publicly available SNP data indicated that some sex-biased miRNAs reside near the genomic regions associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. CONCLUSIONS Together, these findings reinforce the importance of cataloguing sex differences in molecular biology research and highlight genes, miRNAs, and pathways of interest that may be important for sexual differentiation in the mouse and possibly the human brain.

Abstract
The needs of romantic partners of people transitioning gender remain neglected within academia and gender services. Following a systematic search, nine studies relating to female partners' experiences were subjected to a thematic metasynthesis. Four themes were generated and entitled Changes in sexual relationship; New roles and responsibilities; Identity and belonging; and Transformation and loss Results are considered in relation to the dominance of the gender-affirmation discourse. Limitations of the review and reviewed studies are highlighted. Clinical implications for couples and partners of people transitioning gender are offered.
