Abstract
Background: Transformation toward digital services offers unique opportunities to meet the challenges of responding to changing public healthcare needs and health workforce shortages. There is a knowledge gap regarding digital health and person or patient-centered care. Aim: The aim of the current scoping review was to obtain an overview of existing research on person or patient centeredness in digital primary healthcare services. Design: A scoping review following the five stages by Arksey and O'Malley. Methods: Literature searches were conducted in the databases PubMed, Scopus (Elsevier), APA PsychInfo (Ovid), Embase (Ovid), Cinahl (Ovid) and Cochrane Library in June 2022. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyzes extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist was followed. Results: The electronic database searches identified 782 references. A total of 116 references were assessed in full text against the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally, a total of 12 references were included. The included papers represent research from 2015 to 2021 and were conducted in eight different countries, within a variety of populations, settings and digital solutions. Four themes providing knowledge about current research on patient or person centeredness and digital primary health care were identified: 'Accessibility', 'Self-management', 'Digitalization at odds with patient centeredness' and 'Situation awareness'. The review underlines the need for further research on these issues.

Abstract
AIM To describe the various teaching and learning modalities for the delivery of Continuing Professional Development activities for health care professionals in the long-term care sector. BACKGROUND Continuing Professional Development is a key activity that organisations undertake to achieve effective workforce planning, recruitment, retention and upskilling strategies in long-term care settings. During the Covid-19 pandemic there was a rapid move to online modalities of Continuous Professional Development, but there is a paucity of evidence in relation to their effectiveness compared with face-to-face, or in-class learning. DESIGN A rapid synthesis review. METHODS MEDLINE, CINAHL and HEALTH BUSINESS ELITE databases were used to identify relevant articles that were published between 2016 and 2022. Original studies of any design investigating Continuing Professional Development activities, with or without a comparison between interventions or activities were included. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) was followed. The Kirkpatrick model was adopted as a globally recognised method for evaluating training programmes. RESULTS After a full text analysis, 34 papers were included in the review. Face to face was the most common method of delivery followed by online, while blended (a mix of face-to-face and online delivery) was the least common method used. The teaching modalities were not associated with specific learning contents, but were used for a range of content. Most studies obtained positive outcomes following implementation of the educational interventions. Kirkpatrick Level 4 (results) was the most commonly measured outcome. CONCLUSIONS While blended learning was the least common method of delivery, it was found to be more beneficial for learners than face-to-face or online exclusively. There are now new spaces to learn and new technologies that allow us to 'reimagine' where, when and how we teach. This requires Continuing Professional Development providers to design and tailor their courses according to health professionals' learning needs and the clinical contexts where they work. We recommend that Continuing Professional Development providers involve employers when designing teaching and learning activities for Long Term Care workers, to decide which modalities enable effective knowledge translation.

Abstract
AIM The integration of robots can help provide solutions in regards to the need for an increase in resources in healthcare. The aim of this review was to identify how robots are utilized in the healthcare of people who are over the age of 65 and how this population experiences interacting with healthcare robots. DESIGN A systematic literature review with an integrated design was conducted. METHODS A literature search was performed in the electronic databases CINAHL via EBSCO, EMBASE, and Medline via Ovid. Content analysis was performed to assess the studies that were included in this review. RESULTS A total of 14 articles were included. Participants in the studies included 453 older people ranging from 65 to 108 years of age. Nine of the studies focused on people with dementia or cognitive impairment. Seven studies included different types of socially assistive human-like robots, six of the studies included two different types of animal-like robots, and one study focused on a robotic rollator. The robots mainly served as social assistive- or engagement robots.

Abstract
Nursing home residents are affected by depressive symptoms more often than elders living at home. There is a correlation between unmet needs and depression in nursing home residents, while met needs positively correlate with greater satisfaction and well-being. The study aims to examine the needs of nursing home residents with depressive symptoms and the communication of those needs, as no previous study has explicitly addressed the needs of this group of people and the way they are communicated. We conducted semi-structured interviews with 11 residents of three nursing homes and analyzed them using content-structuring content analysis. The residents reported diverse needs, assigned to 12 categories. In addition, barriers such as health impairments prevented the fulfillment of needs. As to the communication of needs, various interlocutors, facilitators, and barriers were identified. The findings reveal that residents can express their needs and are more likely to do so if the interlocutors are patient and take them seriously. However, lack of confidants, missing or non-functioning communication tools, impatience and perceived lack of understanding on the part of caregivers, and residents’ insecurities limit communication of needs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Globally, a culture change in long-term residential care (LTRC) moving towards person-centred care (PCC) has occurred in an attempt to improve resident quality of life (QoL). However, a clear understanding of how different aspects contributing to a PCC approach are interrelated with resident QoL is still lacking. This review explores interrelating aspects between PCC and QoL in LTRC using qualitative synthesis. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Ten relevant primary studies were identified from a search of interdisciplinary research databases providing qualitative information. Studies were critically reviewed for key themes and concepts by the research team. We used a meta-ethnography approach to inductively interpret findings across multiple studies and reinterpreted the information using a constructivist approach. RESULTS We identified 5 second order constructs sharing commonalities suggesting interrelations between PCC and QoL: (1) Maintaining dignity, autonomy and independence. (2) Knowing the whole person. (3) Creating a 'homelike' environment. (4) Establishing a caring culture. (5) Integrating families and nurturing internal and external relationships. Synthesis translation led to the following third order constructs: (1) Personalising care within routines (2) Optimising resident environments (3) Giving residents a voice. DISCUSSION AND IMPLICATIONS There are many interrelating aspects of PCC and QoL following a permanent transition into LTRC, but successful implementation of PCC, which enhances QoL presents challenges due to organisational routines and constraints. However, by prioritising resident voices to include their needs and preferences in care, QoL can be supported following a transition into LTRC.

Abstract
Meaningful activities in dementia care can promote the co-construction of narrative identity in caregiving relationships, helping to preserve the sense of self in people with dementia. Purpose: Informed by symbolic interactionism and Deweyan transactionalism, the aim of this study was to develop a transactional model of how narrative identity and relationships are promoted through the use of a new technological solution, SENSE-GARDEN, that uses digital technologies and multisensory stimuli to facilitate individualized, meaningful activities. Method: We conducted a qualitative interview study to explore the experiences of people with moderate to advanced dementia and their caregivers in Norway and Portugal. After using SENSE-GARDEN for 12–16 weeks, 20 participants (7 persons with dementia and 13 caregivers) were interviewed. The interviews were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis. Results: Three themes were generated: openness, learning, and connection. Findings suggest that SENSE-GARDEN can stimulate emotional experiences, preserve narrative identity, and foster interpersonal relationships. These findings are illustrated through a transactional model. Conclusion: This study highlights the complex multitude of factors affecting person-environment interactions in which narrative identity and relationships are constructed. To better understand these factors, future work should adopt a holistic approach to studying new methods of creating meaningful activities in dementia care.

Abstract
Background Dementia care is one of the most rapidly growing areas in health care. Despite this, relatively little is known about the experiences of persons with dementia in relation to quality of care. Objective The aim of this study was to describe how persons with dementia in nursing homes experience the quality of care. Design A cross-sectional design was used. Setting and Participants The study was conducted in a nursing home in Norway. A total of 33 persons with dementia participated. Results Respondents’ mean age was 86.7 years. More than 80% reported their health as bad/neither good nor bad. Concerning their satisfaction with staying in the nursing home, two in ten were satisfied. Nearly half answered that they received or sometimes received good help and support when anxious. More than 50% reported that they only sometimes received or never received good help and support when they felt lonely. The majority perceived that the nurses came/or sometimes came when needed (79%) and that the nurses had time/sometimes had time to talk with them (73%). Conclusion This study reveals that the voice of persons with dementia must be listened to, in order to increase the quality of care in nursing homes. The challenge concerning how living in nursing homes can be more satisfying must be addressed by leaders and nurses in nursing homes, as well as researchers. Special attention must be paid to anxiety, loneliness, and going outdoors.
