Abstract
Purpose Our study aimed to assess the relationship between serum adipokines and insulin resistance (IR) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and explore the predictive value of adipokines on IR in PCOS. Methods This was a prospective cross-sectional study. 154 women with PCOS were included from July 2021 to September 2022 who underwent gonadal steroid hormone measurement, lipid profile, oral glucose tolerance test and homoeostasis model assessment (HOMA)-IR. Adiponectin (APN), leptin and secreted frizzled-related protein (Sfrp5) were measured by immunoturbidimetry and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Women with PCOS were categorised based on the presence of IR. Results Women with PCOS with IR (n = 99) had significantly lower APN level and APN-to-leptin ratio (A/L ratio) than those without IR (n = 55), whereas serum levels of leptin and Sfrp5 were similar between the two groups. In multivariable linear regression analysis, serum log (APN) and log (A/L ratio) were associated with log (HOMA-IR), and the association was statistically significant after adjusting for body mass index and free androgen index. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (95% CI) for APN and A/L ratio was 0.726 (0.644-0.807; P < 0.001) and 0.660 (0.569-0.751; P < 0.01), respectively, with cutoff values of 5.225 mg/L (Youden index ¼ 0.364) and 1.438 mg/L (Youden index ¼ 0.265). Conclusion Our study demonstrated that serum APN was negatively related to IR. Serum APN may be useful as a clinical marker for IR in women with PCOS. Our findings warrant further investigations into the function of APN in the pathogenesis of IR in women with PCOS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze differences in the menstrual pattern, age at menarche, and body mass index (BMI) in adolescents with Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian (HPO) axis immaturity and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) through a systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS The PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Virtual Health Library, Scopus databases were searched using combinations of descriptors. Study quality was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. For data analysis, the results were grouped into PCOS group and NPCOS group (HPO axis immaturity). We performed a meta-analysis of raw data and the inverse variance method, employing the standardized mean difference, of the age at menarche and BMI of adolescents. RESULTS Participants totaled 1,718 from nine selected studies. The meta-analysis showed that the PCOS group had a higher BMI than the NPCOS group (SMD 0.334; CI95% 0.073 - 0.595; p = .012). The degree of heterogeneity of the studies was approximately 40%. No significant difference in age at menarche (SMD - 0.027; CI95% -0.227 - 0.172; p = 0.790) and menstrual patterns was found, but amenorrhea was described only in adolescents with PCOS. CONCLUSIONS The main characteristic in menstrual pattern that differentiated PCOS patients from girls with HPO axis immaturity was amenorrhea. Also, the BMI of PCOS patients was nearly one third higher than that of adolescents with HPO axis immaturity.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the differences in the metabolic indicators and sex hormones between obese and non-obese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and their impacts on endometrial receptivity (ER). METHODS We selected 255 individuals with PCOS, and categorized them into the obese groups, including the OP group (obese patients with PCOS) and the ON group (obese patients without PCOS), and selected 64 individuals who were categorized in the non-obese groups, namely, the control groups, which comprise the NP group (non-obese patients with PCOS) and the NN group(non-obese patients without PCOS). The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to compare the metabolic indicators, and sex hormone-associated and ER-associated indicators between the groups. The correlation between the aforementioned clinical markers and ER was analyzed using the Pearson's correlation coefficient. RESULTS (1) In comparison with the NP group, the OP group exhibited higher levels (p < .01) of free androgen index (FAI), anti-müllerian hormone (AMH), fasting insulin (FINS), insulin level within 60 min, 120 min, and 180 min-60minINS, 120minINS, and 180minINS, respectively, fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood glucose level within two hours (2hGlu), homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), waist circumference, hip circumference, the ratio of the maximum blood flow velocity of the uterine artery during systole to the blood flow velocity of the uterine artery at the end of diastole (uterine artery S/D), and blood flow resistance index (RI) of the uterine artery. In comparison with the NP group, the OP group exhibited lower levels (p < .01) of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), high molecular weight adiponectin (HMWA), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). (2) In the PCOS group, RI was significantly positively correlated with FAI, FINS, 120minINS, HOMA-IR, and WHR (p < .01), and significantly negatively correlated with SHBG, HDL-C, and HMWA (p < .01); uterine artery S/D was significantly positively correlated with FAI, FINS, 2hGlu, HOMA-IR, LDL-C, and WHR (p < .01), significantly positively correlated with 120minINS and FBG (p < .05), and significantly negatively correlated with SHBG and HMWA (p < .01). CONCLUSION (1) The OP group exhibited obvious metabolic disorders and poor ER, which was manifested as low levels of SHBG and HMWA, and high levels of FAI, HOMA-IR, WHR, uterine artery S/D, and RI. (2) In patients with PCOS, there was a substantial correlation between ER-associated indicators RI and uterine artery S/D and FAI, FINS, 120minINS, HOMA-IR, WHR, SHBG, and HMWA.

Abstract
Background: Prolidase is a manganese (Mn)-dependent cytosolic exopeptidase that degrades imidodipeptides with C-terminal proline or hydroxyproline. Prolidase recycling from imidodipeptides plays a critical role in collagen resynthesis and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelling. Following an increase in gonadotropins, ovarian and follicular collagen undergo substantial degradation. Abnormal ovarian ECM composition is associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This study aimed to examine prolidase activity in the serum and follicular fluid (FF) of women undergoing in vitro fertilisation/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) treatment, comparing those with PCOS to those with normal ovarian function.Methods: This prospective study enrolled 50 participants, of whom 44 were included. PCOS diagnosis followed the Rotterdam consensus criteria, with 20 patients constituting the study group. The control group comprised 24 individuals with mild-to-moderate male infertility. Prolidase enzyme activity in serum and FF was measured using the Chinard reagent via spectrophotometric analysis and compared between the groups.Results: Serum and FF prolidase levels were significantly lower in patients with PCOS (p < 0.05). A direct correlation was observed between serum and FF prolidase levels (p < 0.05). Although blastocyst quality scoring (BQS) significantly decreased in PCOS patients, no statistical difference was observed in the clinical pregnancy rate between the groups (p < 0.05) (p > 0.05). A negative correlation existed between serum prolidase levels and total antral follicle (AF) count (p < 0.05). Conversely, both serum and FF prolidase levels positively correlated with BQS (r = 0.574)(p < 0.05) (r = 0.650)(p < 0.05).Conclusions: Patients with PCOS showed lower serum and FF prolidase levels, indicating abnormal degradation of ovarian and follicular collagen, potentially causing anovulation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE One of the main features of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is increased adipose tissue, which can result in hormonal disturbances. In the present study, we aimed to investigate which indicator of obesity could better associate with hormonal disturbances in PCOS women. METHODS In this cross-sectional analysis, women with PCOS were included according to the Rotterdam criteria. Fasting blood samples were analyzed for biochemical, metabolic, and hormonal parameters. Anthropometric measures comprised body composition indices (assessed by bioelectric impedance analysis [BIA]), waist circumference, body mass index (BMI), and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR). Linear regression modeling was used to assess the association between anthropometric indices and hormonal imbalance, adjusted for age, mensuration status, and the homeostasis model assessment-estimated insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curves were utilized to ascertain the sensitivity, specificity, and optimal cut-off points of various anthropometric indices in identifying hyperandrogenism. RESULTS A total of 129 PCOS women with a median (interquartile range [IQR]) age of 32.0 (23.0-32.0) years and a median BMI of 26.3 (23.00-29.70) kg/m2 were enrolled. In the adjusted linear regression model, BMI (β = 0.053, P < 0.001), waist circumference (β = 0.021, P = 0.001), WHtR (β = 3.325, P = 0.002), total fat mass (β = 0.021, P = 0.002), trunk fat mass (β = 0.038, P = 0.006), and leg fat mass (β = 0.045, P = 0.004) were positively associated with free androgen index (FAI). In addition, BMI (β=-0.017, P = 0.003), waist circumference (β=-0.008, P = 0.002), WHtR (β=-1.167, P = 0.004), total fat mass (β=-0.008, P=0.003), trunk fat mass (β=-0.017, P=0.001), and leg fat mass (β=-0.018, P=0.004) were negatively associated with the serum level of sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). WHtR showed the greatest area under the curve (AUC) value (AUC = 0.676, P = 0.001) for identifying hyperandrogenism (FAI ≥ 4.97 or total testosterone ≥ 0.7 ng/mL) in PCOS women with corresponding sensitivity of 87.30% and specificity of 39.70%. CONCLUSIONS WHtR is related to hyperandrogenism in PCOS better than other anthropometric measures.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the changes in thyroid hormones in the serum of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and their correlation with insulin resistance. DESIGN This is a retrospective study. PARTICIPANTS 84 patients having insulin resistance and 76 patients without insulin resistance were included. 90 women without history of PCOS were selected as a healthy control group. SETTINGS This study was conducted at Shijiazhuang Fourth Hospital. METHODS Blood samples were collected from each group on days 3-5 of their menstrual cycle, and their triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels were analyzed and compared between groups. RESULTS We investigated the changes of serum thyroid hormones in patients with PCOS and their correlation with insulin resistance. We found that serum levels of T3 and T4 were significantly decreased, while TSH levels were significantly increased in PCOS patients compared with HCs. Moreover, we found that patients with insulin resistance had significantly lower levels of serum T3 and T4 and higher levels of TSH compared to those PCOS participants without insulin resistance. LIMITATIONS This study was a retrospective and single-center study, which had selection bias, information bias, and confounding variables may affect the accuracy and reliability of the conclusion. CONCLUSIONS Insulin resistance negative correlates with their serum T3, T4, and positive correlates with their TSH levels. Our results develop a combined test model with the serum T3, T4, and TSH levels for the clinical diagnosis of insulin resistance in PCOS women.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of the study was to explore the impacts of liraglutide on leptin (LEP) promoter methylation in ovarian granulosa cells of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and obesity. METHODS A total of 30 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and obesity were retrospectively analyzed. According to the method of random grouping, the patients were divided into an observation group and a control group. The control group received metformin, and the observation group received a subcutaneous injection of liraglutide. The therapeutic effects of patients in the two groups were compared. RESULTS After therapy, the levels of glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism-related indicators, body mass index, LEP, and visfatin of patients were less than those before therapy, and the levels in the observation group were less than the control group (p < 0.05). After therapy, the FSH, E2 and LH levels of patients in the two groups were less than those before therapy, and those in the observation one were less than the control group (p < 0.05). After therapy, the LEP promoter methylation in luteinized granulosa cells in the observation group was less than the control group (p < 0.05). The menstrual cycle establishment ratio, normal ovulation rate, and natural pregnancy ratio of the observation group were greater than the control group (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION Liraglutide has a therapeutic effect on patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and obesity by reducing the methylation of LEP promoter in luteinized granulosa cells and improving the natural pregnancy rate.

Abstract
Our overview covers several key areas related to recent results obtained for collagen type VI and endotrophin (ETP). (1) An introduction to the history of ETP, including how it was identified, how it is released, and its function and potential receptors. (2) An introduction to the collagen family, with a focus on what differentiates collagen type VI from an evolutionary standpoint. (3) An overview of collagen type VI, the 6 individual chains (COL6A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, and A6), their differences and similarities, as well as their expression profiles and function. (4) A detailed analysis of COL6A3, including the cleaved product endotrophin, and what separates it from the other 5 collagen 6 molecules, including its suggested function based on insights gained from knockout and gain of function mouse models. (5) The pathology of ETP. What leads to its presence and release and what are the consequences thereof? (6) Functional implications of circulating ETP. Here we review the data with the functional roles of ETP in mind. (7) We propose that ETP is a mediator for fibrotic (or fibroinflammatory) disorders. Based on what we know about ETP, we have to consider it as a target for the treatment of fibrotic (or fibroinflammatory) disorders. What segment(s) of the patient population would most dramatically respond to an ETP-targeted intervention? How can we find the population that would profit most from an intervention? We aim to present a broad overview over the ETP field at large, providing an assessment of where the future research efforts need to be placed to tap into the vast potential of ETP, both as a marker and as a target in different diseases.

Abstract
Introduction Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal condition associated with psychological, reproductive, and metabolic features. Low-grade inflammation is a recognised factor causing metabolic and reproductive disorders in PCOS, which is why anti-inflammation approaches in PCOS treatment, especially during the COVID pandemic, are considered. A promising therapeutic option is osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), which activates the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway and can inhibit proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF, IL-1β, and TNF-β. In our paper we analysed the influence of OMT in women with PCOS. Material and methods Seventy-three patients, aged 29-46 years, with a history of reproductive failure, who underwent a physiotherapeutic treatment were evaluated. Six months after the end of a physiotherapy session, a follow-up questionnaire was performed. Results The results show that most women (83.6%) were satisfied with the therapeutic process, and that the sessions met the patient's expectations. Reducing the level of anxiety related to infertility treatment and pregnancy was declared by 60 (82.2%) women, an improvement in well-being was declared by 72 (97.3%) (p = 0.04), and increasing awareness of the body after physiotherapy sessions was declared by 70 (95.9%) women. Conclusions The physiotherapeutic sessions improved infertility treatment, enhanced quality of life, and had a positive effect on overall health in PCOS women.

Abstract
Across the globe, metabolic syndrome, hyperuric acid, and their related diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and insulin resistance, are increasing in incidence due to metabolic imbalances. Due to the pathogenesis, women are more prone to these diseases than men. As estrogen levels decrease after menopause, obesity and metabolic disorders are more likely to occur. Men are also affected by hyperuric acid. To provide ideas for the prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome and hyperuricemia, this article reviews and analyzes the relationship between estrogen receptors, metabolic syndrome, and hyperuricemia.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of exenatide treatment on the composition of intestinal flora and metabolic pathways in patients with obesity with polycystic ovary syndrome. METHODS Patients with obesity with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) were distributed to two groups: one received exenatide combined with metformin (COM group, n = 14) and the other used metformin alone (MF group, n = 15). Fresh fecal specimens from the participants, including 29 patients with obesity with PCOS and 6 healthy controls, were collected for metagenomic sequencing. The effect of exenatide combination with metformin or metformin alone on the composition and function of intestinal flora in patients with obesity with PCOS were compared by bioinformatics analysis. RESULTS The level of BMI, TT, HbA1c, and HDL-c was significantly improved in both groups. The MF and COM groups were abundant in Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Uroviricota, Actinobacteria, and Proteobacteria. Abundance of Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria, Hungatella, and certain probiotics like Phocaeicola and Anaerobutyricum significantly increased in both groups after treatment. Enriched microbial species in the MF and COM group were different. Clostridium, Fusobacterium, and Oxalobacter were the main bacteria in the post-MF group, while Lactococcus_garvieae, Clostridium_perfringens, and Coprococcus_sp_AF16_5 were the main bacteria in the post-COM group. The post-COM group had more probiotic species including Bifidobacterium, Prevotella, and Anaerobutyricum after treatment. CONCLUSION Both exenatide combined with metformin and metformin monotherapy can improve metabolic and endocrine markers, and the diversity and abundance of gut microbiota in patients with obesity with PCOS. The effects of the combination and monotherapy agents on intestinal flora were consistent to some extent but also unique respectively.

Abstract
Sexual hormone binding globulin (SHBG) is associated with the endocrine and reproductive systems. We aimed to investigate the role of SHBG in the reproductive process. Therefore, we conducted a secondary analysis of the PCOSAct (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Acupuncture Clinical Trial) study, which involved 21 sites in China and a total of 1000 women with PCOS. Out of these, 954 women with SHBG were included in the analysis. Through multivariate analysis of ovulation predictors, we found that age, BMI, estradiol, testosterone, and SHBG all showed a positive predictive value for ovulation (p = 0.0211, 0.0011, 0.0211, 0.0029, 0.0434, respectively). However, the LH to FSH ratio had a negative predictive value (p = 0.0539). Higher quartiles of SHBG were associated with a higher rate of ovulation, and per quartile increased was statistically significant (HR = 1.138, 95%CI [1.054,1.229]). The association remained significant even after adjusting for testosterone (HR = 1.263, 95%CI [1.059, 1.507]). On the other hand, quartiles of testosterone and estradiol did not exhibit any significant tendency toward ovulation. SHBG demonstrated predictive ability for ovulation, conception, pregnancy, and live birth (p < 0.05), and this correlation remained significant after adjusting intervention. Kaplan-Meier curves illustrated that increased levels of SHBG were a factor in high rates of ovulation, conception, and pregnancy. In comparison to other sexual hormones, a higher baseline level of SHBG was related to increased ovulation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Research on the prevalence of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) among polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients has gained significant momentum over the years. However, it remains unclear whether PCOS is related to a higher prevalence of IBS. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to fully study IBS correlation with PCOS. METHODS From inception until October 16th, 2022, all observational studies documenting IBS prevalence in PCOS patients were collected from the China national knowledge infrastructure(CNKI), China Science and Technology Journal Database(VIP), Wanfang database, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases. The quality of case-control studies was assessed with Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Review Manager 5.3 was used to determine the pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS 5 case-control studies involving 1268 individuals and one cross-sectional study involving 291 participants were included in our qualitative analysis. The quantitative analysis was conducted based on five case-control studies. Four case-control studies involving 1063 participants showed a higher prevalence of IBS in PCOS This meta-analysis revealed an almost twice higher risk of IBS in comparison with controls (OR = 2.23, 95%CI:1.58-3.14, p < 0.001; I2=41%, p = 0.150). Four sensitivity analyses validated the consistency of the aggregated findings. CONCLUSION This meta-analysis and systematic review demonstrated a significant association between PCOS and increased odds of IBS. However, more high-quality and well-controlled research is essential to increase the robustness of our conclusions.

Abstract
Fibrosis in adipose tissue is a major driver of obesity-related metabolic dysregulation. It is characterized by an overaccumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) during unhealthy expansion of adipose tissue in response to over nutrition. In obese adipose-depots, hypoxia stimulates multiple pro-fibrotic signaling pathways in different cell populations, thereby inducing the overproduction of the ECM components, including collagens, noncollagenous proteins, and additional enzymatic components of ECM synthesis. As a consequence, local fibrosis develops. The result of fibrosis-induced mechanical stress not only triggers cell necrosis and inflammation locally in adipose tissue but also leads to system-wide lipotoxicity and insulin resistance. A better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the obesity-induced fibrosis will help design therapeutic approaches to reduce or reverse the pathological changes associated with obese adipose tissue. Here, we aim to summarize the major advances in the field, which include newly identified fibrotic factors, cell populations that contribute to the fibrosis in adipose tissue, as well as novel mechanisms underlying the development of fibrosis. We further discuss the potential therapeutic strategies to target fibrosis in adipose tissue for the treatment of obesity-linked metabolic diseases and cancer. © 2023 American Physiological Society. Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common, complex endocrine, and metabolic disorder. Inflammation has been thought to play an important role in PCOS pathogenesis in recent years, and various inflammatory markers have been investigated; however, no definite conclusion has been reached. As a multifunctional regulatory protein in different inflammatory processes, calprotectin may play a role in the etiology of PCOS. Therefore, based on this hypothesis, we aimed to determine serum calprotectin concentrations in women with PCOS and to compare them with healthy controls. This cross-sectional study was conducted at a tertiary referral center during the study period. Forty-three women (n = 43) with PCOS and 47 women (n = 47) in the control group were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. Serum calprotectin concentrations were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and compared with markers of glucose and lipid metabolism. Clinical characteristics and hormonal parameters were evaluated in both groups. Levels of serum calprotectin were measured as 347 ± 28.8 and 188 ± 15.3 ng/mL in the PCOS and healthy control groups, respectively (P = .009). The mean homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance[1] index and total testosterone levels were significantly higher in the PCOS group than in the control group (both P < .001). Spearman's correlation test demonstrated linear correlations between calprotectin and C-reactive protein, waist circumference, insulin resistance index, and total testosterone levels in the PCOS group (all P < .05). Serum calprotectin levels were higher in women with PCOS. This biomarker may be an indirect sign of insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, or chronic inflammation in women with PCOS.

Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between serum omentin, C1q/tumor necrosis factor-related protein-9 (CTRP9), and visceral fat-specific serine protease inhibitor (vaspin) levels in different phenotypes in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods One hundred PCOS patients treated at our hospital's clinic of reproductive medicine were chosen and included into the research group, and 100 healthy women who came for physical examination during the same time period were included into the control group. According to the definition of obesity by the WHO (body mass index (BMI) ≥25 kg/m2), 100 patients with PCOS were equally divided into obese (study group A) and nonobese (study group B) groups. 100 healthy women were also divided into obese (control group A) and nonobese (control group B) groups with 50 patients each. Comparison among the 4 groups was performed in factors/indicators including the serum omentin, CTRP9, and vaspin levels and biochemical indexes (triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), fasting insulin (FINS), total testosterone, and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) levels), and the correlation analysis was conducted with omentin, CTRP9, and vaspin. Results There was no significant difference in age, TG, TC, and LDL-C among the 4 groups (P > 0.05). The BMI, WHR, HDL-C, and omentin of the obese phenotype were significantly different from those of the nonobese phenotype (P < 0.05). Among the four groups, FINS, HOMA-IR, and vaspin in group A (obesity) was the highest, and the control group B (nonobese) was the lowest. There was no significant difference in the levels of study group B (nonobese) and control group A (obesity). The level of CTRP9 in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Taking serum omentin, CTRP9, and vaspin levels of patients in the study group as dependent variables, Pearson correlation analysis showed that the omentin level was negatively correlated with BMI, WHR, FINS, TG, TC, LDL-C, HOMA-IR, and TT levels (P < 0.05) and was positively correlated with the HDL-C level (P < 0.05); CTRP9 level was negatively correlated with BMI, TC, and HOMA-IR (P < 0.05) and was not correlated with age, WHR, FINS, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C, HOMA-IR, and TT levels. The vaspin level was positively correlated with BMI, WHR, FINS, TG, TC, LDL-C, HOMA-IR, and TT levels (P < 0.05) and negatively correlated with HDL-C levels (P < 0.05) and was not correlated with age. Conclusion When compared with healthy people, PCOS patients have higher serum vaspin levels and lower CTRP9 levels; BMI, TC, LDL-C, FINS, TG, total testosterone, HDL-C levels, waist-to-hip ratio, and HOMA-IR are all closely related to serum vaspin and CTRP9 levels; increasing serum CTRP9 levels and decreasing vaspin levels help to slow progress and promote prognosis of the disease. Serum omentin level is connected with the obesity index but not with PCOS.
