Abstract
Introduction The aim of the study was to search rates of depression and mental health in university students, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and methods This is an observational cross-sectional study. A protocol gathering sociodemographic variables as well as depression, anxiety and suicidality and conspiracism was assembled, and data were collected anonymously and online from April 2020 through March 2021. The sample included 12,488 subjects from 11 countries, of whom 9,026 were females (72.2%; aged 21.11 ± 2.53), 3,329 males (26.65%; aged 21.61 ± 2.81) and 133 "non-binary gender" (1.06%; aged 21.02 ± 2.98). The analysis included chi-square tests, correlation analysis, ANCOVA, multiple forward stepwise linear regression analysis and Relative Risk ratios. Results Dysphoria was present in 15.66% and probable depression in 25.81% of the total study sample. More than half reported increase in anxiety and depression and 6.34% in suicidality, while lifestyle changes were significant. The model developed explained 18.4% of the development of depression. Believing in conspiracy theories manifested a complex effect. Close to 25% was believing that the vaccines include a chip and almost 40% suggested that facemask wearing could be a method of socio-political control. Conspiracism was related to current depression but not to history of mental disorders. Discussion The current study reports that students are at high risk for depression during the COVID-19 pandemic and identified specific risk factors. It also suggested a role of believing in conspiracy theories. Further research is important, as it is targeted intervention in students' groups that are vulnerable both concerning mental health and conspiracism.

Abstract
Perinatal maternal depression, anxiety, and stress are associated with poor infant outcomes. However, no known study has investigated the effects of perinatal maternal obsessive-compulsive symptomatology on infant outcomes while considering important situational factors such as socioeconomic resources. Therefore, we investigated the effects of prenatal and postnatal obsessive-compulsive symptomatology on infant behavioral reactivity, beyond the effects of postnatal depressive symptomatology, at 6 months of age. It was expected that socioeconomic resources would moderate this relationship. We recruited 125 pregnant women from a Health Professional Shortage Area for mental health and primary care in the Midwest United States and interviewed them at approximately 34 weeks gestation and again at 6 months postnatally. They were administered questionnaires at both time points measuring obsessive-compulsive and depressive symptoms. Infant behavioral reactivity was gathered during 6-month follow-up through behavioral observation coding and maternal-report modalities. Maternal-reported infant negative affectivity at 6 months was related to greater severity of maternal postnatal depressive symptomatology, and socioeconomic resources moderated the relationship between maternal prenatal obsessive-compulsive symptoms and maternal-reported infant negative affectivity. However, neither of these relations was statistically significant when infant reactivity was quantified using behavioral observations.

Abstract
The Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology (HiTOP) is a phenotypic data-driven framework for the classification of psychopathology. We tested the construct and criterion validity of the HiTOP spectra measured by the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5) using exploratory structural equation modeling (ESEM) and hierarchical regressions both to predict somatic symptom and related disorders (SSRD) and a somatization factor. The case-control study used hierarchical logistic regressions to distinguish 257 cases with SSRD from 1007 healthy controls by both the maladaptive and the temperament factors. The extracted factors were also used in hierarchical linear regressions to predict the dimensional somatization factor. The seven temperament factors explained more variance above and beyond the five maladaptive factors when predicting SSRD (pseudo R2 = 0.169 to 0.266 versus 0.125 to 0.196; change in pseudo R2 = 0.055 to 0.087 versus 0.011 to 0.017). The temperament factors also explained more variance above and beyond the maladaptive factors when predicting the somatization factor (R2 = 0.392 versus 0.269; change in R2 = 0.146 versus 0.023). Although the HiTOP spectra measured by PID-5 are significant structures related to the categorical and dimensional measurements of somatoform, our findings highlight potential problems with both the construct and criterion validity of the HiTOP spectra.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The current study aimed to determine the changes in psychological function that come with age. The basis to assess psychological function was a hierarchical model of temperament, personality and character, previously developed by the authors. METHODS 734 general population subjects completed the TEMPS-A, the TCI and the NEO-PI-3. Data were analysed with ANCOVA models. RESULTS The top superfactors showed no age change, however, age-related changes were identified in the higher and lower modules. There was a pattern of differences between the two genders in all levels of the model. CONCLUSIONS While there is stability with the two top factors of personality, there are age-related changes in lower-level modules probably indicating maturation, adaptation or changes in orientation through the adult life span. Gender differences in all levels including the two top superfactors, higher and lower modules reflect and explain differences in multiple aspects of internal experience, interaction and behaviour in the two genders. The results are clinically essential for incorporating age and gender-related differences of experience and behaviour in understanding temperamental implications in affective disorders also impacting their clinical course and management.Key PointsBased on the complex hierarchical temperament model four stages of maturation of human psychological function can be postulated.There is a very specific trait core of human mental function, which differs between genders and seems to be responsible for the longitudinal stability of the person's internal experience with the passing of the years.The findings are clinically essential for incorporating age and gender-related differences of experience and behaviour in understanding temperamental implications in affective disorders also impacting their clinical course and management.

Abstract
Background The sustained rise in negative mental health reports among university students is a source of continued global concern, and investigation continues into potential contributors to this rise. This includes the increased prevalence of risky sexual behaviors. Related is the increased prevalence of pornography use. Our study sought to explore the potential relationship between compulsive use of pornography and mental health in university students. Methods Our sample consisted of university students (N = 1031; 34% male, 66% female) from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Steubenville, Ohio. An anonymous survey was sent to all students at the university over the age of 18. The survey was comprised of the following: (1) demographic questions, (2) questions on pornography use and perception, (3) a modified version of the Compulsive Internet Use Scale (mCIUS) assessing various factors associated with compulsive internet pornography use, (4) questions assessing emotional and sexual states relative to pornography use (EmSS), and (5) the 21-question version of the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21). Results Our results indicate that 56.6% of those surveyed reported lifetime pornography use, with a significantly higher proportion of males than females reporting such use. The majority of students reported accessing pornography through internet-related technologies. Additionally, 17.0, 20.4, and 13.5% of students reported severe or extremely severe levels of depression, anxiety and stress, respectively, with compulsive pornography use significantly affecting all three mental health parameters in both sexes. Exploratory Factor Analysis identified three factors suggesting emotional coping, dependence and preoccupation for the mCIUS items and three factors reflecting interoceptive, impotent, and extrinsic characteristics for the EmSS items. Regression analysis indicated that various demographics, items pertaining to reduced control and social impairment, and other variables pertaining to pornography use predicted mental health outcomes. Faith, morals and personal motivation were the primary variables reported to help reduce pornography use. Conclusion Our analyses indicate a significant relationship between mental health and pornography use, including behaviors reflecting behavioral addictions, highlighting the necessity for a better understanding and consideration of the potential contribution of internet pornography to negative mental health among university students.

Abstract
Background Stress in the banking workplace is associated with psychological and health problems. Intensity of work-related stress experiences is associated with specificity of job stress factors personal features such as affective temperament. The aim of the study was to evaluate associations between affective temperament, coping stress strategies, and perceived job stress in bank employees. Methods Subjects were 209 bank workers aged 22–55 years (n = 101 managers and 108 non-managers). Affective temperament and stress coping strategies were evaluated using the Temperament Evaluation of Pisa, Paris and San Diego Autoquestionnaire (TEMPS-A) and Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS), respectively. Both questionnaires, TEMPS-A and CISS, show good internal consistency and are proper research methods in the bank employee group. Perceived job-related stress was rated for different sources of job stress common among bank workers. Results Depressive temperament was negatively associated with coping style focused on avoidance, and with job stress regarding “responsibility for decisions regarding other people” and “frequent trips.” Irritable temperament was positively correlated with coping style focused on task and job stress regarding “frequent trips.” Cyclothymic temperament was positively correlated with job stress regarding “direct work with money” and “organizational conditions of work.” Multidimensional linear regression showed that irritable and anxious temperaments were associated with coping style focused on task; depressive temperament was associated with coping style focused on avoidance; and cyclothymic temperament was associated with intensity of job stress. The results obtained indicate different levels of job-related stress associated with different sources in bank employees, working with managers and non-managers positions. Affective temperament was associated with stress coping strategies and intensity of perceived job stress. On the basis of affective temperament dimensions it is possible to predict stress coping styles and work-related stress perception in bank employees. Conclusion Affective temperament traits measured by TEMPS-A were associated with stress coping strategies and intensity of work stress perception in Polish bank employees.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Depression and anxiety levels, sexual dysfunctions, and affective temperament characteristics of women with lifelong vaginismus (LLV) and their male partners may have important effects on the development, maintenance, and exacerbation of LLV. AIM We aimed to investigate depression and anxiety levels, sexual dysfunctions, and affective temperament characteristics of both women with LLV and their male partners. METHODS 56 women with LLV, their 56 male partners, and 44 couples with no complaints of any sexual function as a control group were included in this study. Dyadic data were analyzed using the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model. OUTCOMES The Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Golombok Rust Inventory of Sexual Satisfaction, and Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego Auto Questionnaire Scale were completed by all participants. RESULTS Women with LLV had higher levels of anxiety and depression and had more sexual dysfunctions except for avoidance than those of female controls. Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego Auto Questionnaire Scale scores were significantly higher in women with LLV for depressive (odds ratio [OR] = 1.27, 95% CI = 1.09-1.49), cyclothymic (OR = 1.31, 95% CI = 1.15-1.49), anxious (OR = 1.22, 95% CI = 1.09-1.38), and irritable (OR = 1.22, 95% CI = 1.04-1.42) temperament than in female controls. It was found that anxiety levels of male partners of women with LLV were higher than those of male controls and that they experienced less sexual satisfaction. Depressive (OR = 1.31, 95% CI = 1.07-1.61) and cyclothymic (OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 1.04-1.34) temperament scores were significantly higher in male partners of women with LLV than in male controls. The Actor-Partner Interdependence Model analyses show that hyperthymic temperament in male partners of women with LLV and anxious and depressive temperament in women with LLV have a negative effect on their own sexual functions. In terms of partner effect, it was found that men with hyperthymic temperament had a negative effect on the sexual functions of women with LLV and men with depressive temperament had a positive effect. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS The individual characteristics of both the women and their male partners have an impact on LLV. STRENGTHS & LIMITATIONS The sample size was relatively small to assess affective temperaments. The inclusion of male partners in the study contributed to our understanding of couples with LLV. CONCLUSION Our results indicate that affective temperaments detected in women with LLV (depressive, cyclothymic, anxious and irritable) and their male partners (depressive and cyclothymic) have an effect on the development, maintenance, and exacerbation of LLV, and affective temperaments have an effect on both their own and partner's sexual functions.
