Abstract
Eating disorders represent a complex and multifaceted public health challenge, highly prevalent among young people. Background and Objectives: To examine the prevalence of eating disorders in the Spanish young adult population aged 18-30 years, and their correlation with various eating habits and lifestyle factors. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional survey was carried out using a non-probabilistic snowball sample. The valid and reliable NutSo-HH Scale was employed to collect data on nutrition, lifestyle, and health habits. Results: Data were collected from 9692 Spanish young adults, of which 101 (1.04%) were diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and 71 (0.73%) with bulimia nervosa. The prevalence of anorexia and bulimia was significantly higher (p < 0.001) in women than in men, regardless of socio-demographic variables such as educational level, income, region, and size of city of residence. A considerable percentage of participants showed possible symptoms of eating disorders. Nutritionally, individuals with eating disorders consumed less fast food and fried or ultra-processed food but tended to consume coffee and energy drinks more frequently. Additionally, sleep quality and duration were more adversely affected in individuals with eating disorders compared to the general population. Sedentary lifestyles did not significantly differ between those with eating disorders and healthy individuals, though physical activity increased in people with bulimia. Conclusions: The interplay between young adults' dietary habits, lifestyle factors, and mental health underscores the urgent need for targeted interventions to effectively address these complex public health challenges.

Abstract
Importance There are limited studies assessing stage at diagnosis and risk of death among all 5 federally defined races in the US among adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients with cancer. Objective To identify racial disparities in stage at diagnosis and survival among AYA patients with cancer. Design, Setting, and Participants This retrospective cohort study used data from a US national hospital-based oncology database on AYA patients, aged 15 to 39 years, with the 10 deadliest cancers among AYA patients who received a diagnosis from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2017, with 6 months or more of follow-up. Analyses by race were categorized by the 5 federally defined races in the US: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and non-Hispanic White (hereafter, White). White patients served as the majority reference group. Statistical analysis was performed from November 2022 to September 2023. Main Outcomes and Measures The primary end points were late stage at diagnosis (logistic regression with adjusted odds ratios [AORs] and 95% CIs) and overall survival (log-rank tests and Cox proportional hazards regression with adjusted hazard ratios [AHRs] and 95% CIs). Results A total of 291 899 AYA patients (median age, 33 years [IQR, 28-37 years]; 186 549 female patients [64%]; 189 812 [65%] with stage I or II cancers) were evaluated. The cohort included 1457 American Indian or Alaska Native patients (1%), 8412 Asian patients (3%), 40 851 Black patients (14%), 987 Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander patients (0.3%), and 240 192 White patients (82%). Cancers included breast (n = 79 195 [27%]), lymphoma (n = 45 500 [16%]), melanoma (n = 36 724 [13%]), testis (n = 31 413 [11%]), central nervous system (n = 26 070 [9%]), colon or rectum (n = 22 545 [8%]), cervix (n = 20 923 [7%]), sarcoma (n = 14 951 [5%]), ovary (n = 8982 [3%]), and lung (n = 5596 [2%]). Risk of late-stage diagnosis was higher for Asian (AOR, 1.20; 95% CI, 1.14-1.26), Black (AOR, 1.40; 95% CI, 1.36-1.43), and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander (AOR, 1.34; 95% CI, 1.16-1.55) patients compared with White patients. Overall survival differed by race for all cancer sites, except cancers of the central nervous system and ovary. Risk of death was higher for American Indian or Alaska Native (AHR, 1.15; 95% CI, 1.02-1.30), Black (AHR, 1.22; 95% CI, 1.19-1.26), and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander (AHR, 1.25; 95% CI, 1.09-1.44) patients but lower for Asian patients (AHR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.85-0.95) compared with White patients. Conclusions and Relevance This cohort study of AYA patients suggests that stage at diagnosis and survival varied across races for the 10 deadliest AYA cancers. These results support the need for tailored interventions and informed public policy to achieve cancer care equity for all races.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Financial toxicity is increasingly recognized as a devastating outcome of cancer treatment but is poorly characterized in patients with early-onset colorectal cancer. Young patients are particularly vulnerable to financial toxicity as they are frequently underinsured and may suffer significant disruptions to professional and financial growth. We hypothesized that financial toxicity associated with colorectal cancer treatment confers long-lasting effects on patients' well-being and disproportionately impacts patients diagnosed at <50 years of age. METHODS A retrospective cross-sectional analysis of the National Health Interview Survey from years 2019 to 2021 was performed. Patients with a history of colorectal cancer were included and stratified by age at diagnosis. Randomly selected age-matched controls with no cancer history were used for comparison. The primary endpoint was financial toxicity, as assessed by a composite score formulated from 12 National Health Interview Survey items. The secondary endpoint was food security assessed by the United States Department of Agriculture's food security scale, embedded in the National Health Interview Survey. RESULTS When compared to age-matched controls, patients with colorectal cancer experienced significant financial toxicity, as reflected by a composite financial toxicity score (P = .027). Within patients with colorectal cancer, female sex (adjusted odds ratio = 1.46, P = .046) and early-onset disease (adjusted odds ratio = 2.11, P = .002) were found to significantly increase the risk of financial toxicity. Patients with early-onset colorectal cancer more frequently experienced food insecurity (P = .011), delayed necessary medical care (P = .053), mental health counseling (P = .043), and filling prescriptions (P = .007) due to cost when compared to patients with average-onset colorectal cancer. CONCLUSION Colorectal cancer is associated with significant long-term financial toxicity, which disproportionately impacts patients diagnosed at <50 years of age. Targeted interventions are warranted to reduce financial toxicity for patients with high-risk colorectal cancer.

Abstract
Access to care remains a persistent challenge for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer. We review key findings in the science to date. (1) Location of care matters. There is survival benefit for AYAs treated either at a pediatric center or site with special status (eg, Children's Oncology Group, National Cancer Institute [NCI]-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center). (2) Socioeconomic status and insurance require further investigation. Medicaid expansion has had a moderate effect on AYA outcomes. The dependent care expansion benefit has come largely from improvements in coverage for younger populations whose parents have insurance, while some subgroups likely still face insurance gaps. (3) Clinical trial enrollment remains poor, but access may be improving. Numerous barriers and facilitators of clinical trial enrollment include those that are system level and patient level. NCI has established several initiatives over the past decade to improve enrollment, and newer collaboratives have recently brought together multidisciplinary US teams to increase clinical trial enrollment. (4) Effective AYA programs require provider and system flexibility and program reflection. With flexibility comes a need for metrics to assess program effectiveness in the context of the program model. Centers treating AYAs with cancer could submit a subset of metrics (appropriate to their program and/or services) to maintain their status; persistence would require an entity with staying power committed to overseeing the metrics and the system. Substantial clinical and biological advances are anticipated over the next 20 years that will benefit all patients with cancer. In parallel, it is crucial to prioritize research regarding access to health care and cancer care delivery; only with equitable access to care for AYAs can they, too, benefit from these advances.

Abstract
PURPOSE Although data from 1975 to 1997 revealed a gap in cancer survival improvement in adolescents and young adults (AYAs; 15-39 years) compared with children and older adults, more recent studies have reported improvements in AYA cancer survival overall. The current analysis provides an update of 5-year relative survival and cancer survival trends among AYAs compared with children and older adults. METHODS We obtained data from the National Cancer Institute Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program for 17 regions to obtain recent (2010-2018) 5-year relative survival estimates by cancer type, stage, sex, and race/ethnicity by age group. In addition, we calculated 5-year relative survival trends during 2000-2014. RESULTS Across 33 common AYA cancers, AYAs and children had high 5-year relative survival (86%) and experienced similar survival improvements over time (average absolute change: AYAs, 0.33%; children 0.36%). Among AYAs, 73% of cancers had improvement in 5-year relative survival since 2000. Despite this overall progress, we identified cancers where survival was worse in AYAs than younger or older patients and cancers that have had either a lack of improvement (osteosarcoma and male breast) or decreases in survival (cervical and female bladder) over time. Furthermore, males had inferior survival to females for all cancers, except Kaposi sarcoma and bladder cancer, and non-Hispanic Black/African American AYAs experienced worse survival than other racial/ethnic groups for many cancers considered in this study. CONCLUSION Future studies should focus on identifying factors affecting survival disparities by age, sex, and race/ethnicity. Differences in biology, clinical trial enrollment, delivery of treatment according to clinical guidelines, and supportive and long-term survivorship care may account for the survival disparities we observed and warrant further investigation.

Abstract
PURPOSE We developed and validated a measure assessing quality of life (QOL) through importance, attainability, and discrepancy of life goals among adolescents and young adults (AYA) with and without cancer. A specific goal-based QOL measure for AYA fills a critical gap in knowledge for AYA who are at a unique life stage, which may include shifts in priorities and goals. METHODS Through review of our existing AYA databases on goals, the literature, and cognitive interviews we developed the MAYA-GQOL. Items were administered to AYA with cancer (on/off treatment) (n = 124) and healthy AYA controls (n = 103) aged 15-29 years old. Psychometric analyses for comparison with existing QOL measures and discrepancies in perceived importance/attainability of goals were examined. RESULTS An item pool of 700 goals, based on prior research, was refined to 173 goals across nine categories: academic, administrative, body, health, job, leisure, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and religion. Validation between the MAYA-GQOL and existing QOL measures was supported. AYA survivors reported fewer overall current goals and fewer administrative, interpersonal, leisure, and religious goals. AYA survivors rated body goal importance significantly higher than healthy controls and intrapersonal goal importance significantly lower. Little discrepancy in importance and attainability across AYA was found. CONCLUSIONS The MAYA-GQOL represents an innovative way of measuring QOL among AYA by focusing on the relative importance, attainability, and discrepancy of developmentally appropriate goals. The MAYA-GQOL can identify areas of resilience and competence via assessment of important and attainable goals and can further assess how AYA with chronic illness are functioning relative to peers on goal domains relevant to the AYA developmental period.

Abstract
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a group of hematological malignancies most commonly seen in pediatrics. The disease process localizes in lymphoid organs, the central nervous system, the mediastinum, and bone marrow (BM). The clinical features of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) in adults include evidence of generalized lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly, immunosuppression, and hypercalcemia. There is limited research on the efficacy of using modified pediatric treatment regimens in the elderly over the age of 60 with ALL; this case report aims to illustrate the successful treatment of a 67-year-old male patient diagnosed with T-ALL, using a modified Children's Oncology Group (COG) protocol. Through this, it has been shown to be an effective, safe, and efficacious treatment option for our patient.
