Abstract
Background Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a T cell-mediated autoimmune disease that affects the oral mucosa. Although Helicobacter pylori has been documented in subgingival and supragingival plaques and saliva, little is currently known about the relationship between Helicobacter pylori and OLP, warranting further research. Methods PubMed, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Web of Science databases were thoroughly searched for relevant articles published from inception until May 23, 2023. Results Due to high heterogeneity among the included studies (Tau2 = 2.16;χ 2 = 40.33, df = 6; I 2 = 85 %), we employed a random-effects model (REM). The forest plot revealed a significant correlation between H. pylori infection and OLP, with an odds ratio (OR) of 4.69 (95 % CI: 1.36 to 16.19; P < 0.01). Sensitivity analysis showed that the pooled ORs ranged from 3.69 (95 % CI: 1.01 to 13.44; P = 0.05) to 6.77 (95 % CI: 2.65-17.30; P < 0.001), and no single study significantly influenced the results when removed individually. Additionally, subgroup analysis was conducted to investigate the relationship between H. pylori infection and OLP and explore the sources of heterogeneity. Finally, Begg's test (P = 0.24) and Egger's test (P = 0.35) were performed on the included studies, and the results indicated no significant publication bias. Conclusion Our meta-analysis suggests a close association between H. pylori infection and OLP. Nevertheless, further research is warranted to validate these results in the future.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory disorder with cell-induced immunopathological responses and is considered a potential malignancy disorder in the oral cavity. Due to the high prevalence of OLP as well as the potential for malignancy, human papillomaviruses (HPVs) may play an important role in it. Although previous studies have explored the possible relationship between HPV and OLP, the findings have been conflicting and nonconclusive. This study aims to review the studies that investigated HPV-16 and HPV-18 in OLP. METHODS AND MATERIALS The research protocol followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA2020) checklist. The online databases Pubmed, Scopus, Embase, Google Scholar, and Cochrane were searched using the following individual keywords: "OLP" OR "Oral Lichen Planus" OR "HPV" OR "Human Papillomavirus." The search strategy resulted in the selection of 80 articles. The articles were evaluated, and after duplication removal, 53 abstracts were reviewed, resulting in the selection of 25 studies according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The risk of bias assessment was done by using the Modified Newcastle-Ottawa quality assessment scale. The overall prevalence of HPV in OLP lesions varied from 2.7% to 70%, depending on the type of diagnostic method used. CONCLUSION Despite the studies conducted on the relationship between OLP and HPV infection, there is still no conclusive evidence that HPV can play a role in the etiopathogenesis of OLP, either in clinical manifestations or in the malignant transformation of lesions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a cell-mediated inflammatory mucosal disorder and is classified as an oral potentially malignant disorder. Some research has shown that apoptosis in OLP cells is similar to a viral infection such as human papillomavirus (HPV). So, the aim of this case-control study was to investigate the association of high-risk HPV with OLP. MATERIAL AND METHODS DNA was extracted from 25 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) OLP tissues and 25 FFPE normal oral tissues as case and control groups, respectively. The presence of high-risk HPV16 and HPV18 DNA was investigated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). p-value<.05 was considered significant. RESULTS Twelve samples (48%) of OLPs were positive for HPV16, compared with six samples (24%) of controls; although the difference was not significant, it was borderline (p = .07). Three samples (12%) of OLPs were positive for HPV18 compared with one sample (4%) of controls; the difference was not significant (p = .3). The total frequency of both high-risk HPV were 14 samples (56%) of OLPs and 7 samples (28%) of controls; there was a significant association between the high-risk HPV and OLP (p = .04). High-risk HPVs was more prevalent in erosive-atrophic (EA) form of OLP as compared to non-EA form, although the difference was not significant (p = .13). CONCLUSIONS The results suggest a significant association between high-risk HPVs and OLP.

Abstract
Purpose Heat shock protein 90α (HSP90α) is highly expressed in tumors, and predicts tumor progression. This study analyzed the correlation between the expression level of HSP90α in the serum and the prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma. Patients and methods The medical records of patients with 228 lung adenocarcinoma from September 2015 to December 2021 were analyzed. HSP90α expression in the patients' serum was detected by ELISA and the cut-off value (93.76 ng/mL) was determined according to the ROC curve, then the patients were divided into high- and low-level groups. The differences in the medical records of the two groups were compared using the X2 test, and Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses showed that serum HSP90α level were independent risk factors for both PFS and OS (P < 0.05). Results HSP90α was positively correlated with TNM staging (P < 0.01) by One-way analysis of variance. The results of the correlation analysis and the Kaplan-Meier survival curve showed that the expression levels of HSP90α and CEA of patients were positively correlated (R=0.54, P < 0.001), and patients with high HSP90α and CEA levels had the worst OS (P < 0.001). Conclusion HSP90α expression is negatively correlated with the prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinoma and is a potential prognostic marker.

Abstract
Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and its treatments are associated with substantial morbidity, often resulting in cosmetic deformity and loss of physiologic functions including speech and swallowing. Despite advancements in treatment, 5-year survival rates for mucosal malignancies remain below 70%. Effective prevention of HNSCC demands an understanding of the molecular pathways of carcinogenesis. Specifically, defining features of pre-cancerous dysplastic lesions that indicate a better or worse prognosis is necessary to help identify patients who are likely to develop a carcinoma and allow a more aggressive approach to management. There remains a need for identification of biomarkers that can provide both early prognostic and predictive value in clinical decision-making by serving as both therapeutic targets as well as predictors of therapy response. Here, we comprehensively review the most frequently altered molecular biomarkers of malignant transformation in head and neck dysplasia. These markers are involved in a wide range of cellular processes in head and neck carcinogenesis, including extracellular matrix degradation, cell motility and invasion, cell-cell adhesion, solute transport, immortalization, metabolism, the cell cycle and apoptosis, transcription, and cell signaling.

Abstract
Salivary gland tumors represent a serious medical problem and new tools for differential diagnosis and patient monitoring are needed. Here, we present data and discuss the potential of molecular chaperones as biomarkers and therapeutic targets, focusing on Hsp10 and Hsp90. The salivary glands are key physiological elements but, unfortunately, the information and the means available for the management of their pathologies, including cancer, are scarce. Progress in the study of carcinogenesis has occurred on various fronts lately, one of which has been the identification of the chaperone system (CS) as a physiological system with presence in all cells and tissues (including the salivary glands) that plays a role in tumor-cell biology. The chief components of the CS are the molecular chaperones, some of which belong to families of evolutionarily related molecules named heat shock protein (Hsp). We are quantifying and mapping these molecular chaperones in salivary glands to determine their possible role in the carcinogenetic mechanisms in these glands and to assess their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets. Here, we report recent findings on Hsp10 and Hsp90 and show that the quantitative and topographic patterns of tissue Hsp90 are distinctive of malignant tumors and differentiate benign from malignant lesions. The Hsp90 results show a correlation between quantity of chaperone and tumor progression, which in turn calls for negative chaperonotherapy, namely, elimination/inhibition of the chaperone to stop the tumor. We found that in vitro, the Hsp90 inhibitor Ganetespib is cytotoxic for the salivary gland UM-HACC-2A cell line. The drug, by interfering with the pro-survival NF-κB pathway, hampers cellular proliferation and migration, and favors apoptosis, and can, therefore, be considered a suitable candidate for future experimentation to develop a treatment for salivary gland tumors.
