Abstract
The one-pot domino reaction of ethyl (Z)-3-amino-3-phenylacrylates with 2-amino-N-alkyl/arylbenzamides under Lewis acid catalysis was described as an effective way to construct novel spiro [pyrrole-3,2'-quinazoline] carboxylate derivatives. By combining substituted alkyl/aryl amides with spiro annulated 1H-pyrrole-2,3-diones, this method provides a novel way for producing spiro pyrrole derivatives in good to excellent yields. The current procedure has a number of benefits, including quicker reaction times, a broad tolerance range for functional groups, and the ability to synthesize 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones that are of biological importance and take part in organic transformations. This is the first use of molecular hybridization involving linking with pyrrole derivatives and dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones.

Abstract
Benzothiazole derivatives are essential intermediates in synthesizing a wide variety of medical and pharmaceutical compounds, and there is a great demand for a simple and efficient method to synthesize benzothiazoles under mild reaction conditions. Organic electrosynthesis as an energy-efficient process represents an environmentally benign and safer method than traditional methods for organic synthesis. Herein, we present bromine-free and straightforward synthesis of 2-amino benzothiazole derivatives via the reaction of aniline derivatives and ammonium thiocyanate using electrosynthesis in the presence of sodium bromide both as an electrolyte and as a brominating agent at room temperature in isopropyl alcohol (i-PrOH) as a solvent. The reaction of ammonium thiocyanate via C–H thiolation routes, using various aniline derivatives, resulted in a simple, green, and bromine-free synthesis of 2-amino benzothiazole in moderate to good yields under mild reaction conditions. Riluzole drug can be produced using the same procedure in moderate yields.

Abstract
This review article is focused on the synthesis of compounds with quinazolinones and benzo di/triazepine scaffolds. These invaluable derivatives are of great interest in medicinal and pharmaceutical studies because of their important biological properties. Quinazolinones have diverse applications due to their antibacterial, analgesic, antiinflammatory, antifungal, antimalarial, antihypertensive, CNS depressant, anticonvulsant, antihistaminic, antiparkinsonism, antiviraland and anticancer activities. On the other hand, pharmacological properties of benzodiazepines include antianxiety, anticancer, anticonvulsant, antagonists of cholecystokinin receptors (CCK), antileishmanial, sleep-inducing muscle relaxant and several other useful and interesting properties. As an example, three main categories of drugs, namely anxiolytics, sedative hypnotics (sleep inducers) and anticonvulsants are constructed by 1,4-benzodiazepines. Finally, benzotriazepines are believed to possess various pharmacological properties such as antipsychotic and antitumor activities. Hence, this review is divided into three major sections, considering quinazolinones, benzodiazepines and benzotriazepines. In the first section, we take a brief look at various approaches towards synthesis of substituted quinazolin-4(3H)-ones and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones. Also in this section, we try to give an overview of the synthetic routes and strategies recently reported for the generation of various classes of substituted 4(3H)-quinazolinones and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones. Accordingly, quinazolin-4(3H)-ones, were subdivided into three major classes: 2-substituted, 3-substituted and 2,3-disubstituted-quinazolinones. 2,3- dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones also were subdivided into six sub-categories: 2-monosubstituted, 2,2- disubstituted, 2,3-disubstituted, 1,2,3-trisubstituted, 2,2,3-trisubstituted 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones and boron-containing quinazoline-4(1H)-ones. In the other two sections, we cover the literature related to synthesis of benzo di/triazepine. The most recent developments are highlighted with a special emphasis on new synthetic routes based on isatoic anhydride as starting material.

Abstract
Potassium alum (KAl(SO4)2.12H2O), commonly known as ‘alum’, has recently drawn the attention of synthetic chemists as an efficient, safe and eco-friendly acid catalyst in implementing a large number of organic transformations, thereby generating interesting molecular frameworks. The present review article offers an overview of the potent catalytic applications of this commercially available and low-cost inorganic sulfate salt in organic reactions reported during the period of 2014 to 2018.

Abstract
Antimony(III) trichloride (SbCl3) is an effective catalyst (1 mol%) for the condensation of anthranilic amide with various aldehydes or ketones to quinazolin-4(3H)-one derivatives in good to excellent yields under microwave irradiation. The process is carried out within several minutes under solvent-free conditions. This general methodology has the advantages of simplicity, mild reaction conditions and high yields of products.
