Attitude of nursing students following the implementation of comprehensive computer-based nursing process in medical surgical internship: a quasi-experimental study. Abstract
Background The nursing process is the core and the standard of practice in nursing profession. Nowadays, the use of information technology in the field of nursing processes, education and practice has been emphasized. Since nurse’s attitudes towards clinical information systems are considered as an indicator of the success rate of information systems, and nurse’s attitudes about the nursing process can affect their execution of the process. So the purpose of this study was to evaluate nursing students’ attitudes towards the nursing process software.
Methods In this quasi-experimental study, 160 undergraduate nursing students (terms 4–8) in Tabriz University of Medical Sciences were selected by convenience sampling. To evaluate the effectiveness of nursing process software in this study, Mazlom and Rajabpoor (IJME 14(4):312–322, 2014) a questionnaire consisting of 21 components based on a five-point Likert scale was completed by students after using the software. Data were then analyzed by SPSS 19 software. Results The mean score of students’ attitude toward nursing process software was high (80.70 ± 5.58). The nursing students’ highest scoring attitudes were respectively related to “Effectiveness of software in prioritizing patient care and problems”, “Completeness of patient’s electronic information compared to handwritten mode” and “Software’s effectiveness in saving your time”. The lowest scoring attitudes towards the software was respectively related to the “feeling of fairness in labor division”, “the effectiveness of the software in determining your workload” and “the feeling of satisfaction in labor division”. There was a statistically significant relationship between gender and age, and student’s attitude toward nursing process software. Conclusions According to the results and analysis of nursing student’s attitudes toward nursing process software, the use of such software would be welcomed by students. It seems that changing policies in the educational and clinical substructure of nursing in order to develop, adapt and use the nursing process software is an important responsibility for nursing authorities to consider. Providing educational and clinical technology equipment, periodic evaluation of software by stakeholders and promoting the use of this software, can be fundamental steps in operationalizing the findings of this research.

Abstract
Objectives Comprehensive nursing assessment, as the first step in the nursing process, involves the systematic and constant data gathering to facilitate the development of the patient-specific nursing process. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of applying an assessment form based on the health functional patterns on nursing student's attitude and skills in developing nursing process. Methods A randomized controlling design was conducted. Of 84 undergraduate nursing students, 42 students were allocated to the intervention or control group. In clinical education, a patient assessment form based on Gordon's functional health patterns was applied to help students in the intervention group to develop nursing process, while the control group received traditional methods. The data were gathered using a demographic information questionnaire, skills in nursing process development checklist, and attitudes towards nursing process questionnaire. Results The average scores for students’ attitude and skills in developing nursing process in the intervention group were greater than those of the control group. Conclusion Applying nursing assessment using the patient assessment form based on Gordon's functional health patterns can improve the students' learning in developing nursing process.

Abstract
AIM To identify clusters of nurses in relation to the utilisation and attitude towards nursing diagnosis and to compare their profiles considering demographics, professional characteristics and nursing practice environments. BACKGROUND Nursing diagnosis has benefits for both patients and nurses, and the attitude of nurses towards nursing diagnosis has been proposed as a determinant of its use. Therefore, an adequate understanding of nurses' attitude and utilisation profiles regarding nursing diagnosis is essential for the nursing managers who want to adopt nursing diagnosis as a practice framework. METHODS A cross-sectional survey design was used. A sample of 239 nurses working in the Catalan primary health care system were categorised into clusters with similar attitude and utilisation profiles, which were compared with each other a posteriori. RESULTS Nursing managers were grouped into more positive attitude clusters than clinical nurses. Nurses working in supportive nursing practice environments were classified into more positive attitude and higher utilisation clusters. CONCLUSION The field of work and nursing practice environments were found as differential factors in profiles of nurses with different attitudes towards and/or utilisation of nursing diagnosis. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT The promotion of supportive nursing practice environments could enhance the implementation and maintenance of nursing diagnosis as a practice framework in primary health care.

Abstract
ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the contribution of the concept of transference to the application of the nursing process in the care of patients with psychical suffering. Method: Theoretical study, structured from the following question: Is it possible to develop the nursing process in the care of patients with psychical suffering by using transference? Result: The patient is considered as a subject of the unconscious and has a demand he/she is unaware of. Discussion: The transference guides the nursing process and favors the elaboration of what has no meaning in the symptom. Final considerations: As an implication for practice, the nursing process will articulate the transference function through the nursing diagnosis, which will promote the capture of subsidies for the planning and implementation of care, in which the purpose will be the symbolization of the symptom. To highlight speech as a means to therapeutic relation will offer the patients the condition to dictate the pace of articulation between their signifiers, which will dynamically temporalize the process.

Abstract
AIM: to evaluate the clinical applicability of outcomes, according to the Nursing
Outcomes Classification (NOC) in the evolution of orthopedic patients with
Impaired Physical Mobility METHOD: longitudinal study conducted in 2012 in a university hospital, with 21 patients
undergoing Total Hip Arthroplasty, evaluated daily by pairs of trained data
collectors. Data were collected using an instrument containing five Nursing
Outcomes, 16 clinical indicators and a five point Likert scale, and statistically
analyzed. RESULTS: The outcomes Body Positioning: self-initiated, Mobility, Knowledge: prescribed
activity, and Fall Prevention Behavior presented significant increases in mean
scores when comparing the first and final evaluations (p<0.001) and (p=0.035).
CONCLUSION: the use of the NOC outcomes makes it possible to demonstrate the clinical
progression of orthopedic patients with Impaired Physical Mobility, as well as its
applicability in this context.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nursing process is a scientific approach in the provision of qualified nursing cares. However, in practice, the implementation of this process is faced with numerous challenges. With the knowledge of the challenges associated with the implementation of the nursing process, the nursing processes can be developed appropriately. Due to the lack of comprehensive information on this subject, the current study was carried out to assess the key challenges associated with the implementation of the nursing process. MATERIALS AND METHODS To achieve and review related studies on this field, databases of Iran medix, SID, Magiran, PUBMED, Google scholar, and Proquest were assessed using the main keywords of nursing process and nursing process systematic review. The articles were retrieved in three steps including searching by keywords, review of the proceedings based on inclusion criteria, and final retrieval and assessment of available full texts. RESULTS Systematic assessment of the articles showed different challenges in implementation of the nursing process. Intangible understanding of the concept of nursing process, different views of the process, lack of knowledge and awareness among nurses related to the execution of process, supports of managing systems, and problems related to recording the nursing process were the main challenges that were extracted from review of literature. CONCLUSIONS On systematically reviewing the literature, intangible understanding of the concept of nursing process has been identified as the main challenge in nursing process. To achieve the best strategy to minimize the challenge, in addition to preparing facilitators for implementation of nursing process, intangible understanding of the concept of nursing process, different views of the process, and forming teams of experts in nursing education are recommended for internalizing the nursing process among nurses.
