Abstract
Lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs) are a group of rare and genetic diseases produced by mutations in genes coding for proteins involved in lysosome functioning. Protein defect leads to the lysosomal accumulation of undegraded macromolecules including glycoproteins, glycosaminoglycans, lipids, and glycogen. Depending on the stored substrate, several pathogenic cascades may be activated leading to multisystemic and progressive disorders affecting the brain, eye, ear, lungs, heart, liver, spleen, kidney, skin, or bone. In addition, for some of these disorders, hematological findings have been also reported. In this paper, we review the major hematological alterations in LSDs based on 56 case reports published between 2010 and 2020. Hematological alterations were reported in sphingolipidosis, mucopolysaccharidoses, mucolipidoses, neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, glycogenosis, glycoproteinosis, cystinosis, and cholesteryl ester storage disease. They were reported alterations in red cell linage and leukocytes, such as anemia and morphology changes in eosinophils, neutrophils, monocytes, and lymphocytes. In addition, changes in platelet counts (thrombocytopenia) and leukocyte abnormalities on non-peripheral blood samples were also reported for some LSDs. Although in most of the cases these hematological alterations are not pathognomonic of a specific disease or group of LSDs, since they can be easily identified in general clinical laboratories, their identification may contribute to the diagnosis of these disorders. In this sense, we hope that this review contributes to the awareness of the importance of hematological alterations in the diagnosis of LSDs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gaucher disease is an autosomal recessive disorder resulting from the accumulation of glucocerebroside in the cells of the macrophage-monocyte system caused by deficiency in lysosomal glucocerebrosidase. Intravenously administered enzyme replacement therapy is the first-line therapy for Gaucher disease type 1 and substrate reduction therapy represents an alternative oral treatment. Here is a rare case report of Gaucher disease in South China. CASE PRESENTATION Our patient was a 15-year-old Han Chinese boy presenting with fever, edema, and gradually increasing abdominal girth. A physical examination revealed obvious hypoevolutism and hepatomegaly, and laboratory tests and imaging examinations showed severe pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, infection, and moderate anemia. A final diagnosis of Gaucher disease was confirmed after examining the splenic pathological section derived from a splenectomy performed 6 years ago. His recovery improved after receiving anti-infection, diuresis, blood transfusion, and hepatoprotection and so on. However, enzyme replacement therapy was not adopted by our patient because his family could not afford it. CONCLUSION A rare case of Gaucher disease is reported here to emphasize the importance of early recognition by clinical manifestation and histological findings. Gaucher disease should be considered in the differential diagnosis of children with unexplained symptoms of multiple systems.

Abstract
Introduction Gaucher disease is the first lysosomal disease to benefit from enzyme replacement therapy, thus serving as model for numerous other lysosomal diseases. Alglucerase was the first glucocerebrosidase purified from placental extracts, and this was then replaced by imiglucerase – a Chinese hamster ovary cell-derived glucocerebrosidase. Aim The aim was to review the evidence underlying the use of imiglucerase in Gaucher disease type 1 Evidence review Data from clinical trials and Gaucher Registries were analyzed. Conclusion Imiglucerase has been prescribed and found to have an excellent efficacy and safety profile. We report herein the evidence-based data published for 26 years justifying the use of imiglucerase.

Abstract
Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) is a simple, inexpensive and innocuous diagnostic tool. It is increasingly accepted in daily medical practice. We report a case of Gaucher's disease diagnosed by FNA of enlarged spleen in a seven-year-old male presented with complaints of fever, on and off irregular bowel habits, abdominal distension and asymmetric gaze for four years and decreased vision in night for last one year. The diagnosis was based on the finding of large, macrophage like cells with abundant, pale, fibrillary cytoplasm and small nuclei. The patient had no family history of Gaucher's disease, and the diagnosis was not suspected clinically.
