Abstract
Light exposure has been proven to have a significant impact on human health. As a result, researchers are increasingly exploring its potential benefits and drawbacks. With advancements in understanding light and the manufacturing of light sources, modern health lighting has become widely utilized in daily life and plays a critical role in the prevention and treatment of various illnesses. The use of light in healthcare is a global trend, with many countries actively promoting the development and application of relevant scientific research and medical technology. This field has gained worldwide attention and support from scientists and doctors alike. In this review, we examine the application of lighting in human health and recent breakthroughs in light exposure related to pathology, therapeutic strategies, molecular changes, and more. Finally, we also discuss potential future developments and areas of application.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pityriasis lichenoides chronica is the chronic end of the spectrum of pityriasis lichenoides which have several forms of papulosuamous conditions. Several treatments obtained complete clearance of the condition including phototherapy and specifically narrow band ultraviolet B. The Excimer light 308 is a monochromatic light that acts within the ultraviolet B wavelength and used as a targeted phototherapy in several skin conditions. METHODS Thirty-four patients with histopathologically diagnosed pityriasis lichenoides chronica underwent treatment with biweekly sessions of excimer light 308 nm. Treatment continued until complete clearance was obtained or to a maximum of 48 sessions (24 weeks). RESULTS Thirty-one patients obtained complete clearance with no recurrence till the end of the study period, two patients had partial response and only one patient showed poor response to treatment. CONCLUSION Excimer light can be a safe and effective treatment of pityriasis lichinoides chronica in different ages and genders.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting millions of individuals worldwide. Over the years, various treatment modalities have been explored to alleviate the symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients with psoriasis. Among these treatment options, lasers and lights have emerged as promising non-invasive approaches with significant efficacy. This review aims to provide an overview of the current understanding and clinical applications of lasers and lights in the management of psoriasis. We have discussed the mechanisms of action behind different laser and light therapies and their impact on psoriatic plaques. Additionally, we discuss the various types of lasers and lights utilized, including excimer lasers, pulsed dye lasers, and narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy, highlighting their unique properties and clinical outcomes. Moreover, we have addressed important considerations related to patient selection, treatment protocols, and potential side effects associated with lasers and lights. We emphasize the need for proper evaluation, monitoring, and customization of treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes and minimize adverse events.

Abstract
Neurogenic inflammation, mediated by T helper 17 cell (Th17) and neurons that release neuropeptides such as substance P (SP), is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Excimer light is used in the treatment of psoriasis via induction of T cell apoptosis. The objective of this study is to study the effect of excimer light on active versus stable psoriasis and investigate the levels of substance P and its receptor in both groups. The study included 27 stable and 27 active psoriatic patients as well as 10 matched healthy controls. Clinical examination (in the form of local psoriasis severity index (PSI) and visual analogue scale (VAS)) was done to determine disease severity, level of itching, and quality of life. Tissue levels of SP and neurokinin-1 receptor (NK-1R) were measured by ELISA before and after 9 excimer light sessions in 43 patients. A statistically significant lower levels of PSI and VAS were reached after therapy with no significant difference between the stable and active groups. The mean tissue levels of SP before therapy were significantly higher than the control group. Lower levels of SP and NK-1 receptor were found after treatment overall and in each group. Excimer therapy can be effective for both stable and active plaque psoriasis and this effect could be partly through its role on ameliorating the neurogenic inflammation.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic, autoinflammatory skin disease that affects approximately 100 million people worldwide. It is a systemic disease characterized by scaly, red patches on the skin and can also affect the joints. Psoriasis can significantly affect a person's physical and mental health. The prevalence rate of psoriasis may vary depending on the specific population studied and the diagnostic criteria used. Phototherapy is a safe and effective treatment for psoriasis that involves exposing the affected skin to specific wavelengths of light. It can be used alone or with other treatments for severe psoriasis. However, clinicians must choose the right light source for each type of psoriasis and monitor the patient closely during treatment to avoid adverse events. The 308 nm excimer laser is a widely used device in dermatology for treating several skin conditions, including psoriasis. Although the excimer laser can treat various dermatologic diseases, this study will focus only on its effectiveness in treating psoriasis. This study will review the use of an excimer laser, its protocol, and its side effects.

Abstract
Given the relevance of laser application, the objective of this study was to carry out a systematic review to verify the therapeutic effects of laser application on psoriasis plaques. The databases used were PubMED, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, and in the gray literature: Google Scholar, Open Grey and LIVIVO. A total of 1,227 records were found, after removal of duplicates 851 studies remained for Phase 1 (reading titles and abstracts) and 31 for Phase 2 (reading the full studies) and finally 9 studies remained for this review, 7 randomized and 2 non-randomized. The risk of bias analysis had two studies with moderate risk and seven with high risk. The present study presented evidence that laser application has positive effects such as reduction of psoriasis plaques. However, due to the high risk of bias, there is a need for further studies.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease. Within psoriatic lesions, microvascular dysfunction and numerous, tortuous blood vessels occurs. The Nd:YAG laser causes the selective destruction of dilated capillaries, which contributes to the inhibition of leukocyte transport within psoriatic lesions and may be an effective method of psoriasis therapy. This preliminary study was designed to assess the effectiveness of the Nd:YAG laser in reducing psoriatic lesions. Twenty volunteers suffering from psoriasis met the inclusion criteria and were qualified for the study. The non-lesional skin areas and areas with psoriatic lesions were imaged using a DUB SkinScanner high-frequency ultrasound, and skin parameters, including the stratum corneum hydration, melanin and hemoglobin level, were evaluated. The thickness of the epidermis and the SLEB layer, as well as the density of the dermis, were assessed before and after the therapy. The Nd:YAG laser, with a wavelength of 1064 nm and a 650-microsecond pulse duration, was used to treat psoriasis. The density of psoriatic skin after treatment increased by 7.26 u.m. and epidermis thickness decreased by 0.068 u.m. The stratum corneum hydration increased by 9.5 u.m., hemoglobin value decreased by 35 u.m. and melanin decreased by 12 u.m. The thickness of the SLEB layer was also reduced from 0.340 mm before the therapy to 0.195 mm after the therapy. The increase in skin density and the decrease in epidermal thickness after the therapy may prove the effectiveness of the Nd:YAG laser in reducing psoriatic lesions. The thickness of the SLEB layer and hemoglobin decrease indicate a reduction in inflammation. Laser therapy improves the epidermal hydration of psoriatic skin.

Abstract
Of all the therapeutic options available in Dermatology, few of them have the history, effectiveness, and safety of phototherapy. Heliotherapy, NB-UVB, PUVA, and UVA1 are currently the most common types of phototherapy used. Although psoriasis is the most frequent indication, it is used for atopic dermatitis, vitiligo, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and cutaneous sclerosis, among others. Before indicating phototherapy, a complete patient assessment should be performed. Possible contraindications should be actively searched for and it is essential to assess whether the patient can come to the treatment center at least twice a week. One of the main method limitations is the difficulty that patients have to attend the sessions. This therapy usually occurs in association with other treatments: topical or systemic medications. Maintaining the regular monitoring of the patient is essential to identify and treat possible adverse effects. Phototherapy is recognized for its benefits and should be considered whenever possible.

Abstract
Scars pose a complex challenge to the reconstructive surgeon in the variability of their presentation and their effect on cosmesis and function. Numerous surgical and nonsurgical options exist for scar management, each with their respective advantages and disadvantages. Each treatment modality should be tailored to the patient to ensure enhanced outcomes. In this review, we discuss different scar presentations, scar management options, and the benefits and risks with undergoing these various treatment modalities.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a common cutaneous disease that has major implications in the quality of life of the patient. It is characterised by a chronic course and in some subtypes, it can be life threatening. Many studies have focused on the pathogenesis concerning this disease therefore improving the therapeutic approaches. Phototherapy represents a well-known treatment option for psoriasis. The depletion of T cells mostly from the epidermis, after exposure to phototherapy, validates the role of this treatment. The 308 nm excimer laser has the ability to treat mild, moderate and even severe but localised psoriasis plaques and plays an important role in the treatment management of psoriasis. In this report, we present the case of a patient diagnosed with plaque psoriasis, resistant to topical ointments, successfully treated with the 308 nm excimer laser. Although further studies are still required to consider the 308 nm excimer laser as a first line therapy, its high response rates have significantly influenced the therapeutic approach in psoriasis.

Abstract
Intermediate ultraviolet (UVB) therapy is considered a relatively safe method of treating skin diseases with an autoimmune component in development compared to medical drug methods, including PUVA therapy. This is due to the small depth of penetration of the rays of this wavelength range into skin, which provides a purely local effect on the human body. Excimer lamps are an alternative to the expensive excimer laser for phototherapy of psoriasis or vitiligo. However, for effective phototherapy using UVB lamps, the distance from an emitter to a patient’s skin must be considered. In this paper, we report on treatment of patients using an excimer lamp, the control unit of which is equipped with an optical system for controlling of ultraviolet radiation dose, which allows automatically calculating the time for a set UVB dose. The article describes the results of phototherapy using an excimer lamp of several cases of psoriasis, vitiligo and other forms of dermatitis with a good therapeutic and cosmetic effect. When using an excimer lamp, not a single case of exacerbation of dermatological diseases was established.
