Recent Advances in 1,3,5-Triazine Derivatives as Antibacterial Agents

Green synthesis of 1,3,5-triazine derivatives using a sonochemical protocol

1,3,5-triazine derivatives are useful compounds with potential applications in various branches of chemical industry, including pharmaceutical chemistry, cosmetic chemistry, photochemistry, and organic chemistry. Due to the growing environmental requirements on conducting efficient, economical, and safe syntheses, development of new methods for synthesizing organic compounds is highly desirable. In this publication, we present a protocol for the synthesis of 1,3,5-triazine derivatives using a sonochemical approach. In as little as 5 min, it is possible to obtain most of the investigated compounds with a yield of over 75%. An undeniable advantage of this method, besides its short time, is the use of water as the solvent. Furthermore, we provide examples that the sonochemical method may be more versatile than the competing microwave method. Analysis conducted using the DOZNTM 2.0 tool revealed that in terms of the 12 principles of green chemistry, the developed sonochemical method is 13 times "greener" than the classical one. Additionally, it has been demonstrated that the investigated molecules are attractive for their application as drug-like compounds.

Tenability on schiff base Hydrazone derivatives and Frontier molecular orbital

Context hydrazine compounds based on 1,3,5-triazine were synthesised and their molecular structures were characterised by elemental analysis, Electronic, IR and 1H NMR spectra. The spectral behaviour of the newly prepared compounds in organic solvents of different polarities was extensively studied and correlated to the molecular structure. In this study, 1,3,5-Triazine derivatives (L1, L6, L7, L8) have been subjected to theoretical studies using the Semi-empirical PM3 quantum chemical method. The physical-chemical properties of some Hydrazone derivatives are determined theoretically. The molecular geometry, the Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital (HOMO) - Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (LUMO) energy gap, molecular hardness (η), ionisation energy (IE), Electron affinity and total energy were analysed, and applications as biological effects were done.

CuO nanoparticles for green synthesis of significant anti-Helicobacter pylori compounds with in silico studies

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a universal health intimidation as mentioned by the World Health Organization. The primary causal agent linked to a number of illnesses, including inflammation and the development of stomach ulcers, is Helicobacter pylori. Since, H. pylori develops antibiotic resistance quickly, current H. pylori treatment approaches are becoming less effective. Our research aims to highlight novel formulation antibiotics using CuO-NPs as catalysts and studied their activity as anti-helicobacter pylori supported by computational studies (POM analysis and molecular docking) software. They were designed for anti-Helicobacter Pylori action. All compounds revealed a bactericidal effect better than the reference McFarland standards.

Novel Derivatives of Nicotinic Acid as Promising Anticancer Agents

BACKGROUND

Cancer has become the second leading cause of death worldwide. Despite of the availability of significant number of anticancer agents, cancer is still incurable especially at the last stages. Remarkable targets for anticancer research and drug discovery are heterocyclic compounds, and among them, superior effect has been shown by the nitrogen containing compounds than non-nitrogen containing compounds. Nicotinic acid, a nitrogen containing moiety and its derivatives have gained an immense importance in the development of anticancer drugs owing to the wide variety of biological properties displayed by them.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this review is to provide researchers the information about various synthetic approaches used for the synthesis of anticancer drugs of nicotinic acid from 2001 onwards and to reveal their application and importance in the treatment of this dreadful disease.

CONCLUSION

As indicated by this review, considerable work has been done in terms of synthesis and investigation of anticancer potential of nicotinamide derivatives. The information provided in this article may be of great value for the researchers seeking to develop efficient anticancer drugs.

A New Synthesis Strategy for Rhodanine and Its Derivatives

Rhodanine and its derivatives have been known as privileged structures in pharmacological research because of their wide spectrum of biological activities, but the synthesis method of rhodanine skeleton is limited. In this paper, not only rhodanine skeleton, but also N-aryl rhodanines can be directly prepared via the reaction of thioureas and thioglycolic acid in one step catalyzed by protic acid, which provides a new approach of the synthesis of rhodanine and its derivatives. The developed strategy is straightforward, efficient, atom economical, and convenient in good yields.

Barbiturates: A Review of Synthesis and Antimicrobial Research Progress

BACKGROUND

Barbituric acid and its derivatives have turned heads for several years as an indispensable class of compounds in the pharmaceutical industry because of their vast assortment of biological activities such as anticonvulsants, hypnotics, anti-diabetic, antiviral, anti-AIDS, anti-cancer, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant etc. Plethoras of studies have shed light on the properties, synthesis, and reactivity of these compounds. The depiction of multiple biological activities by barbiturates compelled us and by virtue of which herein we have mediated over the progress of synthesis of numerous kinds of compounds derived from barbituric acid with well-known and typical examples from 2016 to the present.

OBJECTIVE

The review focuses on the advancements in methods of synthesis of barbituric acid derivatives and their applications as antimicrobial agents.

CONCLUSION

This review will help future researchers to analyze the previous studies and to explore new compounds for the development of efficient antimicrobial drugs.
