Abstract
Chocolate spot and heat stress devastatingly impact the production of faba bean, particularly under prevailing climatic changes and rising drastic environmental conditions. Hence, the adaptability of faba bean performance is a decisive objective of plant breeders to ensure its sustainable production. The present study aimed to evaluate the agronomic performance and stability of diverse eleven faba bean genotypes for yield characters, chocolate spot, and heat stress in eight different growing environments. The faba bean genotypes were evaluated at two sowing dates in two different locations during two growing seasons. The evaluated eleven faba bean genotypes were sown timely in autumn (25 October) and late sowing in early winter (25 November) in Bilbeis and Elkhatara during 2020 and 2021 growing seasons. The results exhibited substantial differences among the evaluated sowing dates, locations, and faba bean genotypes for all studied characters. The genotypes Sakha-3, Nubaria-3, Nubaria-5, Misr-3, and Wadi-1 were able to produce acceptable yield and quality characters under timely sowing in autumn and late sowing in early winter in all tested environments. Moreover, the genotypes Nubaria-3, Nubaria-4, Nubaria-5, Sakha-4, Giza-3, and Triple White exhibited better resistance to chocolate spot. The assessed faba bean genotypes were evaluated under late sowing to expose the plants to high temperature stress at flowering and throughout the anthesis and seed-filling stages. The genotypes Nubaria-5, Nubaria-3, Nubaria-4, Sakha-3, Sakha-4, Wadi-1, and Misr-3 possessed tolerance to heat stress more than the other genotypes. Different statistical methods were applied to study the stability of assessed genotypes such as joint regression, Additive Main Effect and Multiplicative Interaction (AMMI) analysis, AMMI stability value, Wricke's and Ecovalence values. The estimated stability parameters were consistent in depicting the stability of the assessed faba bean genotypes. The findings revealed that Sakha-1, Misr-3, Nubaria-4, and Nubaria-5 demonstrated stable and desirable performance across all tested environments. The heatmap was employed to classify the assessed faba bean genotypes into different groups based on agronomic performance, chocolate spot resistance and heat stress tolerance. Nubaria-3, Nubaria-4, Nubaria-5, and Misr-3 had the best performance for agronomic performance, chocolate spot resistance, and heat stress tolerance. The obtained results provide evidence of employing promising faba bean genotypes for improving the stability of agronomic performance, chocolate spot resistance, and heat stress tolerance in breeding programs principally under unprecedented climate fluctuations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Regional analgesia techniques are crucial for pain management after cervical spine surgeries. Anesthesiologists strive to select the most effective and least hazardous regional analgesia technique for the cervical region. Our hypothesis is that an intermediate cervical plexus (IC) block can provide adequate postoperative analgesia compared to a cervical erector spinae (ES) block in patients undergoing anterior cervical spine surgery. METHODS In this double-blind prospective trial, 58 patients were randomly assigned into two equal groups prior to the administration of general anesthesia. Patients in the IC group (n = 29) underwent ultrasound-guided bilateral intermediate cervical plexus block with 15 ml of bupivacaine 0.25% administered to each side. The ES group (n = 29) underwent ultrasound-guided bilateral cervical erector spinae plane blocks with 15 ml of 0.25% bupivacaine administered to each side at the C6 level. The primary outcome was to record the time to the first call for rescue analgesia (nalbuphine), and the secondary outcomes were to measure the performance time, the onset of the sensory block, the intraoperative fentanyl consumption, postoperative pain intensity using VAS, the postoperative total nalbuphine consumption, and postoperative complications such as nausea, vomiting, hypotension, and bradycardia. RESULTS The performance and onset of sensory block times were significantly shorter in the IC group compared to the ES group. The time to first call for nalbuphine was significantly shorter in the IC group (7.31 ± 1.34 h) compared to the ES group (11.10 ± 1.82 h). The mean postoperative VAS scores were comparable between the two groups at the measured time points, except at 8 h, where it was significantly higher in the IC group, and at 12 h, where it was significantly higher in the ES group. The total nalbuphine consumption was significantly higher in the IC group (33.1 ± 10.13 mg) compared to the ES group (22.76 ± 8.62 mg). CONCLUSIONS For patients undergoing anterior cervical spine surgery, the intermediate cervical plexus block does not provide better postoperative regional analgesia compared to the cervical erector spinae block. Performance time and onset time were shorter in the IC group, whereas nalbuphine consumption was lower in the ES group. TRIAL REGISTRATION The trial was registered at clinicaltrials.gov. Abstract
BACKGROUND In elderly patients with external full-thickness rectal prolapse (EFTRP), the exact differences in postoperative recurrence and functional outcomes between laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy (LVMR) and perineal stapler resection (PSR) have not yet been investigated. METHODS We conducted a retrospective multicenter study on 330 elderly patients divided into LVMR group (n = 250) and PSR (n = 80) from April 2012 to April 2019. Patients were evaluated before and after surgery by Wexner incontinence scale, Altomare constipation scale, and patient satisfaction questionnaire. The primary outcomes were incidence and risk factors for EFTRP recurrence. Secondary outcomes were postoperative incontinence, constipation, and patient satisfaction. RESULTS LVMR was associated with fewer postoperative complications (p < 0.001), lower prolapse recurrence (p < 0.001), lower Wexner incontinence score (p = 0.03), and lower Altomare's score (p = 0.047). Furthermore, LVMR demonstrated a significantly higher surgery-recurrence interval (p < 0.001), incontinence improvement (p = 0.019), and patient satisfaction (p < 0.001) than PSR. Three and 13 patients developed new symptoms in LVMR and PSR, respectively. The predictors for prolapse recurrence were LVMR (associated with 93% risk reduction of recurrence, OR 0.067, 95% CI 0.03-0.347, p = 0.001), symptom duration (prolonged duration was associated with an increased risk of recurrence, OR 1.131, 95% CI 1.036-1.236, p = 0.006), and length of prolapse (increased length was associated with a high recurrence risk (OR = 1.407, 95% CI = 1.197-1.655, p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS LVMR is safe for EFTRP treatment in elderly patients with low recurrence, and improved postoperative functional outcomes. Abstract
As pharmaceutical analysis progresses towards environmental sustainability, there is a growing need to enhance the safety and health conditions for analysts. Consequently, the incorporation of chemometrics into environmentally friendly analytical methods represents a promising approach. Favipiravir, cefixime, and moxifloxacin hydrochloride have been currently used in COVID-19 treatment. In this study, we develop spectrophotometric methods depending on chemometric based models to measure the levels of favipiravir, cefixime, and moxifloxacin hydrochloride in pharmaceutical preparations and spiked human plasma. It is challenging to determine favipiravir, cefixime, and moxifloxacin simultaneously because of overlap in their UV absorption spectra. Two advanced chemometric models, partial least square (PLS) and genetic algorithm (GA), have been developed to provide better predictive abilities in spectrophotometric determination of the drugs under study. The described models were created using a five-level, three-factor experimental design. The outcomes of the models have been thoroughly assessed and interpreted, and a statistical comparison with recognized values has been taken into consideration. The analytical eco-scale and the green analytical procedure index (GAPI) evaluation methods were also utilized to determine how environmentally friendly the mentioned models were. The outcomes demonstrated how well the models described complied with the environmental requirements.

Abstract
Water, as an indispensable constituent of life, serves as the primary source of sustenance for all living things on Earth. The contamination of surface water with heavy metals poses a significant global health risk to humans, animals, and plants. Sharkiya Governorate, situated in the East Nile Delta region of Egypt, is particularly susceptible to surface water pollution due to various industrial, agricultural, and urban activities. The Bahr Mouse Stream, crucial for providing potable water and supporting irrigation activities in Sharkiya Governorate, caters to a population of approximately 7.7 million inhabitants. Unfortunately, this vital water source is exposed to many illegal encroachments that may cause pollution and deteriorate the water resource quality. In a comprehensive study conducted over two consecutive seasons (2019-2020), a total of 38 surface water samples were taken to assess the quantity of heavy metals in surface water destined for human consumption and other applications, supported by indices and statistics. The assessment utilized flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry to determine the concentration of key heavy metals including iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), and chromium (Cr). The calculated mean value of the Water Quality Index (WQI) was found to be 39.1 during the winter season and 28.05 during the summer season. This value suggests that the surface water maintains good quality and is suitable for drinking purposes. Furthermore, the analysis indicated that the concentrations of heavy metals in the study area were below the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization and fell within the safe threshold prescribed by Egyptian legislation. Despite the identification of localized instances of illegal activities in certain areas, such as unauthorized discharges, the findings affirm that the Bahr Mouse stream is devoid of heavy metal pollution. This underscores the importance of continued vigilance and regulatory enforcement to preserve the integrity of these vital water resources.

Abstract
A total of 20 lithium disilicate glass-ceramics (IPS e.max CAD, Ivoclar Vivadent) and 20 resin nano-ceramic (Voco Grandio Blocks) onlay restorations were performed in 20 patients using a split-mouth design to compare the two-year clinical performance of lithium disilicate and resin nano-ceramic onlay restorations. Both restorations were evaluated at baseline, one-year, and two-year clinical follow-ups based on the modified United States Public Health Service (USPHS) criteria. Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests showed no statistically significant difference between Voco Grandio and IPS e.max ceramic restorations for all evaluated parameters during the different follow-up periods (p > 0.05). Cochrane's and MC-Nemar's tests indicated statistically significant differences regarding color match within the Voco Grandio group. They also indicated statistically significant differences in marginal discoloration, marginal adaptation, surface texture, and postoperative hypersensitivity within both ceramic material groups (p < 0.05). Kaplan-Meier curve indicated that the survival rate of both ceramic materials was 90%. After two years of clinical service, IPS e.max CAD and Voco Grandio onlay restorations exhibited similar clinical performance.

Abstract
In the aquaculture industry, silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) have great significance, mainly for confronting diseases. Therefore, the present study aims to assess the antibacterial efficiency of SiNPs as a versatile trial against Aeromonas veronii infection in African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Further, we investigated the influence of SiNPs in palliating the immune-antioxidant stress biochemical, ethological, and histopathological alterations induced by A. veronii. The experiment was conducted for 10 days, and about 120 fish were distributed into four groups at random, with 30 fish each. The first group is a control that was neither exposed to infection nor SiNPs. The second group (SiNPs) was vulnerable to SiNPs at a concentration of 20 mg/L in water. The third group was experimentally infected with A. veronii at a concentration of 1.5 × 107 CFU/mL. The fourth group (A. veronii + SiNPs) was exposed to SiNPs and infected with A. veronii. Results outlined that A. veronii infection induced behavioral alterations and suppression of immune-antioxidant responses that appeared as a clear decline in protein profile indices, complement 3, lysozyme activity, glutathione peroxidase, and total antioxidant capacity. The kidney and liver function biomarkers (creatinine, urea, alkaline phosphatase, and alanine aminotransferase) and lipid peroxide (malondialdehyde) were substantially increased in the A. veronii group, with marked histopathological changes and immunohistochemical alterations in these tissues. Interestingly, the exposure to SiNPs resulted in a clear improvement in all measured biomarkers and a noticeable regeneration of the histopathological changes. Overall, it will establish that SiNPs are a new, successful tool for opposing immunological, antioxidant, physiological, and histopathological alterations induced by A. veronii infection.

Abstract
PURPOSE Hypertensive emergency, a sudden and severe increase in blood pressure, necessitates immediate intervention to avoid end-organ damage. Cilostazol, a selective phosphodiesterase-III inhibitor, has vasodilator effect. Here, we investigated the effect of two commonly used statins, atorvastatin or rosuvastatin, on cilostazol antihypertensive activity in acute model of hypertension. METHODS Hypertensive emergency was induced via angiotensin II intravenous infusion (120 ng.kg-1.min-1). Rats were subjected to real-time arterial hemodynamics and electrocardiogram recording while investigated drugs were injected slowly at cumulative doses 0.5, 1, and 2 mg.kg-1, individually or in combination, followed by baroreflex sensitivity (BRS) analysis and serum electrolytes (Na+ and K+) and vasomodulators (norepinephrine (NE), and nitric oxide (NO)) assessment. RESULTS Cilostazol reduced systolic blood pressure (SBP), while co-injection with rosuvastatin augmented cilostazol SBP-reduction up to 30 mmHg. Compared to atorvastatin, rosuvastatin boosted the cilostazol-associated reduction in peripheral resistance, as evidenced by further decrease in diastolic, pulse, and dicrotic-notch pressures. Rosuvastatin co-injection prevented cilostazol-induced changes of ejection and non-ejection durations. Additionally, rosuvastatin coadministration produced better restoration of BRS, with an observed augmented increase in BRS indexes from spectral analysis. Greater reduction in sympathetic/parasympathetic ratio and serum NE upon rosuvastatin coadministration indicates further shift in sympathovagal balance towards parasympathetic dominance. Additionally, rosuvastatin coinjection caused a greater decrease in serum sodium, while more increase in NO indicating augmented reduction of extracellular volume and endothelial dysfunction. CONCLUSION Rosuvastatin boosted cilostazol's antihypertensive actions through effects on peripheral resistance, BRS, sympathovagal balance, endothelial dysfunction, and electrolytes balance, while atorvastatin did not demonstrate a comparable impact.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pseudomonas putida is a pathogenic bacterium that induces great losses in fishes, including Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Currently, the application of nanomaterials in aquaculture practices has gained more success as it endows promising results in therapies compared to traditional protocols. OBJECTIVE Therefore, the current perspective is considered the first report to assess the anti-bacterial efficacy of titanium dioxide nanogel (TDNG) against Pseudomonas putida (P. putida) in Nile tilapia. METHODS The fish (n = 200; average body weight: 47.50±1.32 g) were allocated into four random groups (control, TDNG, P. putida, and TDNG + P. putida), where 0.9 mg/L of TDNG was applied as bath treatment for ten days. RESULTS Outcomes revealed that P. putida infection caused ethological alterations (surfacing, abnormal movement, and aggression) and depression of immune-antioxidant variables (complement 3, lysozyme activity, total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase, and reduced glutathione content). Additionally, a substantial elevation in hepatorenal biomarkers (aspartate and alanine aminotransferases and creatinine) with clear histopathological changes and immuno-histochemical alterations (very weak BCL-2 and potent caspase-3 immuno-expressions) were seen. Surprisingly, treating P. putida-infected fish with TDNG improved these variables and obvious restoration of the tissue architectures. CONCLUSION Overall, this report encompasses the key role of TDNG as an anti-bacterial agent for controlling P. putida infection and improving the health status of Nile tilapia.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Celecoxib, a cyclooxygenase-2 selective inhibitor non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, is used for the management of short- and long-term pain as well as in other inflammatory conditions. Unfortunately, its chronic use is highly associated with serious abnormal cardiovascular events. The current study was designed to explore the effect of long-term administration of celecoxib on the cardiac tissues of male albino rats. The study also examined the alleged cardioprotective effect of royal jelly. METHODS Thirty, male albino rats were randomly divided into 3 equal groups; 10 each: (1) rats served as the control group and received no drug; (2) rats received celecoxib (50 mg/kg/day, orally), for 30 consecutive days; (3) rats received celecoxib (50 mg/kg/day, orally) plus royal jelly (300 mg/kg/day, orally) for 30 consecutive days. Sera were collected to assay cardiac enzymes and oxidant/antioxidant status. Rats were euthanatized and cardiac tissues were dissected for quantitative estimation of apoptotic genes (Bax) and anti-apoptotic gene (Bcl-2). RESULTS Long-term celecoxib administration caused cardiotoxicity in male albino rats as manifested by significant elevation of serum levels of creatine phosphokinase (CPK), creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), with ameliorative effects of royal jelly against celecoxib-induced cardiotoxicity as manifested by significantly decrease in serum CPK, CK-MB, and LDH levels. It also showed a significant decrease in the oxidative stress indicator malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and the bax gene. Additionally, it demonstrated significant increases in the bcl-2 gene and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels, which contribute to its therapeutic effects against celecoxib-induced cardiotoxicity. CONCLUSION Long-term celecoxib administration caused cardiotoxicity in male albino rats with protective effect of royal jelly being given together. It could be concluded that royal jelly may prove a useful adjunct in patients being prescribed celecoxib. TRIAL REGISTRATION Not applicable.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hypertension may cause target organ damage (TOD). Target blood pressure (BP) management may not be appropriate in some conditions. AIM We aim to assess the impact of targeted BP management in severe hypertension on renal TOD. PATIENTS & METHODS This is a prospective cohort study involving patients admitted due to severe hypertension (BP > 180/120) associated with any symptoms. The study involved patients referred to the ICU in our tertiary center during the period between August 2017 and February 2018. All patients underwent target BP treatment according to recent guidelines. Hs-Troponin T (hs-TNT) and serum creatinine (s.creat) were measured in all patients on admission and 24 h later. Patients were divided into Group A (with initial normal hs-TNT) and Group B (with initial high hs-TNT). The main outcome was in-hospital renal-related morbidity (including renal failure). RESULTS Four hundred seventy consecutive patients with hypertensive crises were involved in the study. Group B had a significantly higher incidence of in-hospital mortality (4 patients) and renal TOD (acute renal dysfunction) than Group A (P value = 0.001 and 0.000 respectively). There was a significant difference between initial s.creat on admission and follow-up s.creat values in Group B with significant elevation of their s.creat on the following 24 h (P = 0.002), while this difference is insignificant in Group A (P = 0.34). There was a significant positive correlation between hs-TNT and the follow-up s.creat (P = 0.004). CONCLUSION In severe HTN, hs-TNT may be elevated due to marked afterload. Patients with severe HTN and high hs-TNT have higher s.creat values, which are associated with an increased risk of renal failure and in-hospital mortality if their BP decreases acutely to the guideline-target BP. Using biomarkers during the management of emergency HTN should be considered before following clinical guidelines. However, our findings do underscore the potential utility of hs-TNT as an indicator for risk stratification in patients with severe or emergency HTN.

Abstract
The ability of wound dressing materials to tackle skin pathogens colonization that is associated with open wound infections is limited. Recently, green-synthesized metal oxide nanoparticles has received a lot of attention to overcome this limitation. However, titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs) exhibit exceptional antibacterial properties. In this work, several concentrations (0, 1, 3, and 5 wt.%) of TiO2 NPs prepared using Aloe vera leaf extract were added to a blend of polyvinyl alcohol and sodium alginate (PVA:SA). This nanocomposite was designed to enhance the healing process of wounds. The interaction between the PVA:SA composite and the TiO2 NPs was confirmed by FTIR. The thermal behavior of the nanocomposite films was investigated using DSC and TGA. The experimental results indicate that the glass transition temperatures of the nanocomposites increased by increasing the added amount of TiO2 NPs to be 53.7 °C (1 wt.%), 55.8 °C (3 wt.%), and 60.6 °C (5 wt.%), which were consistently lower than the glass transition temperature of the matrix material (69.6 °C). The Dynamic Mechanical Analysis was examined. The nanocomposite doped with 5 wt.% of TiO2 NPs detected a high storage modulus (21.6 × 108). Based on swelling and degradation studies, the prepared PVA:SA:TiO2 nanocomposite films have an excellent swelling rate, and the inclusion of TiO2 NPs increases the stability of the polymeric matrix. The PVA:SA:TiO2 nanocomposite films exhibited a superior antibacterial efficacy against Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus, compared to their effectiveness against Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli. Moreover, the nanocomposite films were biocompatible with Human Skin Fibroblast. Therefore, the developed PVA:SA:TiO2 nanocomposite films suit wound dressing applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the most widely grown and vital cereal crops, containing a high percentage of basic nutrients such as carbohydrates and proteins. Drought stress is one of the most significant limitations on wheat productivity. Due to climate change influences plant development and growth, physiological processes, grain quality, and yield. Drought stress has elicited a wide range of plant responses, namely physiological and molecular adaptations. Biopriming is one of the recent attempts to combat drought stress. Mitigating the harmful impact of abiotic stresses on crops by deploying extreme-habitat-adapted symbiotic microbes. The purpose of this study was to see how biopriming Triticum aestivum grains affected the effects of inoculating endophytic fungi Aspergillus fumigatus ON307213 isolated from stressed wheat plants in four model agricultural plants (Gemmiza-7, Sids-1, Sakha8, and Giza 168). And its viability in reducing drought stress through the use of phenotypic parameters such as root and shoot fresh and dry weight, shoot and root length, and so on. On a biochemical and physiological level, enzymatic parameters such as catalase and superoxidase dismutase are used. Total phenolics, flavonoids, and photosynthetic pigments are non-enzymatic parameters. Making use of molecular techniques such as reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). RESULTS It has been found that using Aspergillus fumigatus as a biological biopriming tool can positively impact wheat plants experiencing drought stress. The total biomass of stressed wheat plants that had been bio-primed rose by more than 40% as compared to wheat plants that had not been bio-primed. A. fumigatus biopriming either increased or decreased the amount of enzymatic and non-enzymatic substances on biochemical scales, aside from the noticeable increase in photosynthetic pigment that occurs in plants that have been bio-primed and stressed. Drought-resistant genes show a biopriming influence in gene expression. CONCLUSIONS This is the first paper to describe the practicality of a. fumigatus biopriming and its effect on minimizing the degrading effects of drought through water limitation. It suggests the potential applications of arid habitat-adapted endophytes in agricultural systems.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Carbapenems represent the first line treatment of serious infections caused by drug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. Carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CRKP) is one of the urgent threats to human health worldwide. The current study aims to evaluate the carbapenemase inhibitory potential of coumarin and to test its ability to restore meropenem activity against CRKP. Disk diffusion method was used to test the antimicrobial susceptibility of K. pneumoniae clinical isolates to various antibiotics. Carbapenemase genes (NDM-1, VIM-2, and OXA-9) were detected using PCR. The effect of sub-MIC of coumarin on CRKP isolates was performed using combined disk assay, enzyme inhibition assay, and checkerboard assay. In addition, qRT-PCR was used to estimate the coumarin effect on expression of carbapenemase genes. Molecular docking was used to confirm the interaction between coumarin and binding sites within three carbapenemases. RESULTS K. pneumoniae clinical isolates were found to be multi-drug resistant and showed high resistance to meropenem. All bacterial isolates harbor at least one carbapenemase-encoding gene. Coumarin significantly inhibited carbapenemases in the crude periplasmic extract of CRKP. The checkerboard assay indicated that coumarin-meropenem combination was synergistic exhibiting a fractional inhibitory concentration index ≤ 0.5. In addition, qRT-PCR results revealed that coumarin significantly decreased carbapenemase-genes expression. Molecular docking revealed that the binding energies of coumarin to NDM1, VIM-2, OXA-48 and OXA-9 showed a free binding energy of -7.8757, -7.1532, -6.2064 and - 7.4331 Kcal/mol, respectively. CONCLUSION Coumarin rendered CRKP sensitive to meropenem as evidenced by its inhibitory action on hydrolytic activity and expression of carbapenemases. The current findings suggest that coumarin could be a possible solution to overcome carbapenems resistance in CRKP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Spot blotch is a serious foliar disease of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) plants caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana, which is a hemibiotrophic ascomycete that has a global impact on productivity. Some Trichoderma spp. is a promising candidate as a biocontrol agent as well as a plant growth stimulant. Also, the application of nanomaterials in agriculture limits the use of harmful agrochemicals and helps improve the yield of different crops. The current study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of Trichoderma. cf. asperellum and the biosynthesized titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) to manage the spot blotch disease of barley caused by B. sorokiniana and to assess the plant's innate defense response. RESULTS Aloe vera L. aqueous leaf extract was used to biosynthesize TiO2 NPs by reducing TiCl4 salt into TiO2 NPs and the biosynthesized NPs were detected using SEM and TEM. It was confirmed that the NPs are anatase-crystalline phases and exist in sizes ranging from 10 to 25 nm. The T. cf. asperellum fungus was detected using morphological traits and rDNA ITS analysis. This fungus showed strong antagonistic activity against B. sorokiniana (57.07%). Additionally, T. cf. asperellum cultures that were 5 days old demonstrated the best antagonistic activity against the pathogen in cell-free culture filtrate. Also, B. sorokiniana was unable to grow on PDA supplemented with 25 and 50 mg/L of TiO2 NPs, and the diameter of the inhibitory zone increased with increasing TiO2 NPs concentration. In an in vivo assay, barley plants treated with T. cf. asperellum or TiO2 NPs were used to evaluate their biocontrol efficiency against B. sorokiniana, in which T. cf. asperellum and TiO2 NPs enhanced the growth of the plant without displaying disease symptoms. Furthermore, the physiological and biochemical parameters of barley plants treated with T. cf. asperellum or TiO2 NPs in response to B. sorokiniana treatment were quantitively estimated. Hence, T. cf. asperellum and TiO2 NPs improve the plant's tolerance and reduce the growth inhibitory effect of B. sorokiniana. CONCLUSION Subsequently, T. cf. asperellum and TiO2 NPs were able to protect barley plants against B. sorokiniana via enhancement of chlorophyll content, improvement of plant health, and induction of the barley innate defense system. The present work emphasizes the major contribution of T. cf. asperellum and the biosynthesized TiO2 NPs to the management of spot blotch disease in barley plants, and ultimately to the enhancement of barley plant quality and productivity.

Abstract
Owing to the uniqueness of quantum dots (QDs) as a potential nanomaterial for agricultural application, hence in the present study, titanium dioxide quantum dots (TiO2 QDs) were successfully synthesized via sol-gel technique and the physico-chemical properties of the prepared TiO2 QDs were analyzed. Based on the results, the TiO2 QDs showed the presence of anatase phase of TiO2. TEM examination revealed spherical QDs morphology with an average size of 7.69 ± 1.22 nm. The large zeta potential value (-20.9 ± 2.3 mV) indicate greater stability of the prepared TiO2 QDs in aqueous solutions. Moreover, in this work, the application of TiO2 QDs on Hibiscus sabdariffa plants was conducted, where H. sabdariffa plants were foliar sprayed twice a week in the early morning with different concentrations of TiO2 QDs (0, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 30 ppm) to evaluate their influence on these plants in terms of morphological indexes and biochemical parameters. The results exhibited an increasing impact of the different used concentrations of TiO2 QDs on morphological indexes, such as fresh weight, dry weight, shoot length, root length, and leaf number, and physio-biochemical parameters like chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, carotenoid contents, total pigments and total phenolic contents. Remarkably, the most prominent result was recorded at 15 ppm TiO2 QDs where plant height, total protein and enzymatic antioxidants like catalase and peroxidase were noted to increase by 47.6, 20.5, 29.5 and 38.3%, respectively compared to control. Therefore, foliar spraying with TiO2 QDs positively serves as an effective strategy for inducing optimistic effects in H. sabdariffa plants.

Abstract
KEY MESSAGE Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi generated systemic acquired resistance in cucumber to Zucchini yellow mosaic virus, indicating their prospective application in the soil as a sustainable, environmentally friendly approach to inhibit the spread of pathogens. The wide spread of plant pathogens affects the whole world, causing several plant diseases and threatening national food security as it disrupts the quantity and quality of economically important crops. Recently, environmentally acceptable mitigating practices have been required for sustainable agriculture, restricting the use of chemical fertilizers in agricultural areas. Herein, the biological control of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) plants using arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi was investigated. Compared to control plants, ZYMV-infected plants displayed high disease incidence (DI) and severity (DS) with various symptoms, including severe yellow mosaic, mottling and green blisters of leaves. However, AM fungal inoculation exhibited 50% inhibition for these symptoms and limited DS to 26% as compared to non-colonized ones. The detection of ZYMV by the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay technique exhibited a significant reduction in AM-inoculated plants (5.23-fold) compared with non-colonized ones. Besides, mycorrhizal root colonization (F%) was slightly reduced by ZYMV infection. ZYMV infection decreased all growth parameters and pigment fractions and increased the malondialdehyde (MDA) content, however, these parameters were significantly enhanced and the MDA content was decreased by AM fungal colonization. Also, the protein, proline and antioxidant enzymes (POX and CAT) were increased with ZYMV infection with more enhancements due to AM root colonization. Remarkably, defence pathogenesis-related (PR) genes such as PR-a, PR-b, and PR-10 were quickly expressed in response to AM treatment. Our findings demonstrated the beneficial function of AM fungi in triggering the plant defence against ZYMV as they caused systemic acquired resistance in cucumber plants and supported their potential use in the soil as an environment-friendly method of hindering the spread of pathogenic microorganisms sustainably.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Coronary slow flow (CSF) can occur due to various factors, such as inflammation, small vessel disease, endothelial dysfunction, and inadequate glucose control. However, the exact pathological mechanisms behind CSF remain incompletely understood. The objective of this study was to identify the risk factors associated with slow coronary flow in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) who have non-obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) and experience CSF. METHODS We conducted a prospective cohort study involving 120 patients with T2DM who were referred for invasive coronary angiography due to typical chest pain or inconclusive results from non-invasive tests for myocardial ischemia. Using a 2 × 2 design, we categorized patients into groups based on their glycemic control (adequate or poor) and the presence of CSF (yes or no), defined by a TIMI frame count > 27. All patients had non-obstructive CAD, characterized by diameter stenosis of less than 40%. We identified many variables associated with CSF. RESULTS Our investigation revealed no significant differences in age, sex, family history of coronary artery disease, ECG ischemia abnormalities, or echocardiographic (ECHO) data between the groups. In patients with adequate glycemic control, hypertension increased the risk of CSF by 5.33 times, smoking by 3.2 times, while dyslipidemia decreased the risk by 0.142. Additionally, hematocrit increased the risk by 2.3, and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) increased the risk by 1.053. Among patients with poor glycemic control, hematocrit increased the risk by 2.63, and the Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) by 24.6. Notably, NLR was positively correlated with glycemic control parameters in T2DM patients with CSF. CONCLUSIONS In T2DM patients with CSF, various factors strongly correlate with glycemic control parameters and can be employed to predict the likelihood of CSF. These factors encompass hypertension, smoking, increased body mass index (BMI), elevated platelet count, hematocrit, NLR, PLR, and C-reactive protein (CRP). Abstract
Epothilone derivatives have been recognized as one of the most powerful anticancer drugs towards solid tumors, for their unique affinity to bind with β-tubulin microtubule arrays, stabilizing their disassembly, causing cell death. Sornagium cellulosum is the main source for Epothilone, however, the fermentation bioprocessing of this myxobacteria is the main challenge for commercial production of Epothilone. The metabolic biosynthetic potency of epothilone by Aspergillus fumigatus, an endophyte of Catharanthus roseus, raises the hope for commercial epothilone production, for their fast growth rate and feasibility of manipulating their secondary metabolites. Thus, nutritional optimization of A. fumigatus for maximizing their epothilone productivity under solid state fermentation process is the objective. The highest yield of epothilone was obtained by growing A. fumigatus on orange peels under solid state fermentation (2.2 μg/g), bioprocessed by the Plackett-Burman design. The chemical structure of the extracted epothilone was resolved from the HPLC and LC-MS/MS analysis, with molecular mass 507.2 m/z and identical molecular fragmentation pattern of epothilone B of S. cellulosum. The purified A. fumigatus epothilone had a significant activity towards HepG2 (IC50 0.98 μg/ml), Pancl (IC50 1.5 μg/ml), MCF7 (IC50 3.7 μg/ml) and WI38 (IC50 4.6 μg/ml), as well as a strong anti-tubulin polymerization activity (IC50 0.52 μg/ml) compared to Paclitaxel (2.0 μg/ml). The effect of A. fumigatus epothilone on the immigration ability of HepG2 cells was assessed, as revealed from the wound closure of the monolayer cells that was estimated by ~ 63.7 and 72.5%, in response to the sample and doxorubicin, respectively, compared to negative control. From the Annexin V-PI flow cytometry results, a significant shift of the normal cells to the apoptosis was observed in response to A. fumigatus epothilone by ~ 20 folds compared to control cells, with the highest growth arrest of the HepG2 cells at the G0-G1 stage.

Abstract
The response of the modified GAFCHROMIC EBT2 radiochromic film to DC Oxygen glow discharge plasma was investigated using a flatbed scanner and an UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The film was modified by removing the polyester overlaminate, adhesive, and topcoat layers with a total thickness of 80 µm, and is now referred to as EBT2-M. The EBT2-M films were exposed to DC Oxygen plasma for different durations: 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 10 min. The exposed films exhibit coloration homogeneity with an average variation of (1.6 ± 0.3) × 10-4 pixel values/µm, irrespective of the applied exposure time. The pixel values of the red-and-green channels and weighted grayscale images decreased exponentially with different sensitivity amounts to [Formula: see text] 39.67, 49.69, and 42.11 min-1, respectively, as the exposure time increased. The two absorption peaks at 580 ± 4 nm and 632 ± 4 nm in the UV-Vis absorption spectra of the exposed GAFCHROMIC EBT2-M radiochromic films are increasing with increasing exposure time up to 4 min, thereafter saturated for prolonged exposure time. The integrated absorbance in the range from 400 to 700 nm is linearly correlated with the exposure time. The indirect and direct optical energy band gaps and Urbach energy of the modified GAFCHROMIC EBT2 film are weakly correlated with the exposure time. These findings suggest the utilization of the modified GAFCHROMIC EBT2 radiochromic film as a novel and simple technique for plasma diagnostics.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Intra-ductal cancer (IDC) is the most common type of breast cancer, with intra-lobular cancer (ILC) coming in second. Surgery is the primary treatment for early stage breast cancer. There are now irrefutable data demonstrating that the immune context of breast tumors can influence growth and metastasis. Adjuvant chemotherapy may be administered in patients who are at a high risk of recurrence. Our goal was to identify the processes underlying both types of early local recurrences. METHODS This was a case-control observational study. Within 2 years of receiving adjuvant taxan and anthracycline-based chemotherapy, as well as modified radical mastectomy (MRM), early stage IDC and ILC recurred. Vimentin, α-smooth muscle actin (SMA), platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP1), and clustered differentiation (CD95) were investigated. RESULTS Of the samples in the ductal type group, 25 showed local recurrence, and 25 did not. Six individuals in the lobular-type group did not experience recurrence, whereas seven did. Vimentin (p = 0.000 and 0.021), PDGF (p = 0.000 and 0.002), and CD95 (p = 0.000 and 0.045) expressions were significantly different in ductal and lobular carcinoma types, respectively. Measurement of ductal type was the sole significant difference found in MMP1 (p = 0.000) and α-SMA (p = 0.000). α-SMA and CD95 were two variables that helped the recurrence mechanism in the ductal type according to the pathway analysis. In contrast, the CD95 route is a recurrent mechanism for the lobular form. CONCLUSIONS While the immune system plays a larger role in ILC, the tumor microenvironment and immune system both influence the recurrence of IDC. According to this study, improving the immune system may be a viable cancer treatment option.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lameness has been associated with compromised animal welfare and reduced productivity in dairy cattle herds worldwide. However, little is known about the prevalence of claw lesions in the dairy buffalo population in Egypt. Furthermore, the optimum measurements for claw trimming in buffalo are unknown. A cross-sectional cadaver study was conducted where 135 pair buffalo hind feet were collected from 4 slaughterhouses and examined for the presence of claw lesions. The proportion and associated 95% confidence interval (CI) of each type of lesion were calculated. A separate set of healthy claws (n = 26) underwent ultrasonography (US) and computed tomography (CT). The agreement between US and CT measurements was assessed using Passing-Bablok regression and intraclass correlation coefficient. The CT measurements were used to calculate trimming recommendations. RESULTS At least one lesion was identified in 242 claws (89.6%, 95% CI = 85.4-93.0). In healthy claws, poor to moderate agreement was identified between US and CT measurements which could be due a sample size of the study. The average ± standard deviation (SD) minimum recommended external wall length of the lateral and medial claws in heifers was 7.1 ± 0.36 cm and 7.5 ± 0.35 cm, respectively. The average ± SD minimum recommended external wall length in buffaloes over five years of age was 8.2 ± 0.27 cm and 8.4 ± 0.39 cm for the lateral and medial claws, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The study found a high prevalence of claw lesions in buffalo in Egypt, the clinical significance of which requires further elucidation. Recommended measurements will help guide claw trimming in buffalo to minimise lesions.

Abstract
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a universal health intimidation as mentioned by the World Health Organization. The primary causal agent linked to a number of illnesses, including inflammation and the development of stomach ulcers, is Helicobacter pylori. Since, H. pylori develops antibiotic resistance quickly, current H. pylori treatment approaches are becoming less effective. Our research aims to highlight novel formulation antibiotics using CuO-NPs as catalysts and studied their activity as anti-helicobacter pylori supported by computational studies (POM analysis and molecular docking) software. They were designed for anti-Helicobacter Pylori action. All compounds revealed a bactericidal effect better than the reference McFarland standards.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Coronary slow flow (CSF) often links to inflammation and endothelial function disturbance. While conventional ejection fraction measurements fall short in identifying myocardial dysfunction, left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LV GLS) has shown superior efficacy in this regard. Our study aimed to explore subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction by assessing LV GLS in patients diagnosed with coronary slow flow (CSF). METHODS The study included sixty patients with CSF and sixty control individuals without CSF. Coronary angiography employed the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) frame count (TFC) to identify CSF. LV GLS values were evaluated and compared between the two groups. RESULTS Significantly reduced LV GLS was evident in the CSF group compared to the control group (- 16.18 ± 1.25 vs. - 19.34 ± 1.33, p < 0.001). A notable correlation (r = 0.492, p < 0.001) between LV GLS and TFC was observed in the CSF group. Multivariate logistic regression analysis highlighted reduced LV-GLS (OR 2.2, 95% CI 1.57-3.09, p < 0.001) and smoking (OR 11.55, 95% CI 3.24-41.2, p < 0.001) as significant predictors for CSF presence. The receiver operating characteristic curve established that an LV GLS value of ≥ - 17.8% accurately predicted the presence of CSF (AUC: 0.958, 95% CI: 0.924-0.991, p < 0.001) with 90% specificity and 91.7% sensitivity. CONCLUSION Our study indicates that reduced LV GLS is associated with CSF presence, offering a valuable means to early detect subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction in high-risk patients susceptible to heart failure. Abstract
Mitochondrial dysfunction is a recent emerging research scope that proved to be involved in many cardiovascular diseases culminating in chronic heart failure (CHF), which remains one of the primary causes of morbidity and mortality. This study investigated the added cardio-protective effects of exogenous melatonin administration to conventional captopril therapy in isoproterenol (ISO) exposed rats with CHF. Five groups of Wistar rats were recruited; (I): Control group, (II): (ISO group), (III): (ISO + captopril group), (IV): (ISO + melatonin group) and (V): (ISO + melatonin/captopril group). Cardiac function parameters and some oxidant, inflammatory and fibrotic markers were investigated. Moreover; mRNA expression of mitochondrial mitophagy [parkin & PTEN induced kinase 1 (PINK1)], biogenesis [Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (PGC-1α)], fusion [mitofusin 2 (Mfn2)] and fission [dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP-1)] parameters in rat's myocardium were evaluated. Rats' myocardium was histo-pathologically and immunohistochemically evaluated for Beclin1 and Sirt3 expression. The present study revealed that captopril and melatonin ameliorated cardiac injury, oxidative stress biomarkers, and pro-inflammatory cytokines in ISO-exposed rats. These protective effects could be attributed to mitochondrial dynamic proteins control (i.e. enhanced the mRNA expression of parkin, PINK1, PGC-1α and Mfn2, while reduced DRP-1 mRNA expression). Also, Beclin1 and Sirt3 cardiac immunoreactivity were improved. Combined captopril and melatonin therapy showed a better response than either agent alone. Melatonin enhanced myocardial mitochondrial dynamics and Sirt3 expression in CHF rats and may represent a promising upcoming therapy added to conventional heart failure treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Interventional cardiologists face challenges in managing chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions, with conflicting results when comparing rotational atherectomy (RA) to conventional PCI. This meta-analysis aims to provide a critical evaluation of the safety and feasibility of RA in CTO lesions. METHODS PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Ovid, and Cochrane central library until April 2023 were searched for relevant studies. MACE was our primary outcomes, other outcomes were all cause of death, cardiac death, MI, and TVR. Also, we reported angiographic outcomes as technical success, procedural success, and procedural complications in a random effect model. The pooled data was analyzed using odds ratio (OR) with its 95% CI using STATA 17 MP. RESULTS Seven studies comprising 5494 patients with a mean follow-up of 43.1 months were included in this meta-analysis. Our pooled analysis showed that RA was comparable to PCI to decrease the incidence of MACE (OR = 0.98, 95% CI [0.74 to 1.3], p = 0.9). Moreover, there was no significant difference between RA and conventional PCI in terms of other clinical or angiographic outcomes. CONCLUSION Our study showed that RA had comparable clinical and angiographic outcomes as conventional PCI in CTO lesions, which offer interventional cardiologists an expanded perspective when addressing calcified lesions. Abstract
PURPOSE Postoperative delirium (POD) is considered the most common postoperative neurological complication in elderly patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the administration of ketofol versus dexmedetomidine (DEX) for minimizing POD in elderly patients undergoing urgent exploration for intestinal obstruction. METHODS This prospective double-blinded randomized clinical trial was conducted on 120 elderly patients undergoing urgent exploration for intestinal obstruction. Patients were randomly allocated to one of the three groups: Group C (control group) patients received normal saline 0.9%, group D received dexmedetomidine, and group K received ketofol (ketamine: propofol was 1:4). The primary outcome was the incidence of POD. Secondary outcomes were incidence of emergence agitation, postoperative pain, consumption of rescue opioids, hemodynamics, and any side effects. RESULTS The incidence of POD was statistically significantly lower in ketofol and DEX groups than in the control group at all postoperative time recordings. Additionally, VAS scores were statistically significantly decreased in the ketofol and DEX groups compared to the control group at all time recordings except at 48 and 72 h postoperatively, where the values of the three studied groups were comparable. The occurrence of emergence agitation and high-dose opioid consumption postoperatively were found to be significant predictors for the occurrence of POD at 2 h and on the evening of the 1st postoperative day. CONCLUSION The administration of ketofol provides a promising alternative option that is as effective as DEX in reducing the incidence of POD in elderly patients undergoing urgent exploration for intestinal obstruction. TRIAL REGISTRATION This clinical trial was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Zagazig University (ZU-IRB# 6704// 3/03/2021) and ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT04816162, registration date 22/03/ 2021). Abstract
Disrupted spermatogenesis and testicular injury are among the devastating outcomes of methotrexate. A major contributor to methotrexate-induced testiculopathy is oxidative damage which triggers apoptosis and altered autophagy responses. Eicosapentaenoic acid ethyl ester (EPA-E) is an antihyperlipidemic derivative of omega-3 fatty acids that exhibited affinity to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPAR-γ) that possesses both antioxidant and autophagy modulating properties. This is an exploratory study aiming at assessing the effectiveness of EPA-E to alleviate testicular damage induced by methotrexate. The specific exploratory hypothesis of this experiment is: EPA-E administration for 1 week to methotrexate-treated rats reduces testicular damage compared to control rats. As a secondary outcome, we were interested in identifying the implicated mechanism that mediates the action of EPA-E. In adult male Wistar rats, testiculopathy was achieved by a single methotrexate injection (20 mg/kg, ip). Rats received vehicle, EPA-E (0.3 g/kg/day, po) alone or with selective PPAR-γ antagonist (bisphenol A diglycidyl ether, BADGE) at 30 mg/kg/day, ip for 1 week. EPA-E recuperated methotrexate-attenuated serum total testosterone while reduced testicular inflammation and oxidative stress, restoring superoxide dismutase (SOD) while reducing malondialdehyde (MDA) and 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). Methotrexate-induced testicular apoptosis (caspase-3 and p53) was suppressed upon EPA-E treatment. Besides, EPA-E curbed methotrexate-induced abnormal autophagy by downregulating LC3A/B and beclin-1. Interestingly, BADGE-coadministration reversed EPA-E beneficial actions. Collectively, our findings suggest PPAR-γ role in EPA-E-mediated mitigation of methotrexate-evoked testiculopathy via suppression of oxidative stress, apoptosis, as well as abnormal autophagy. Furthermore, EPA-E could be used as a preventive therapy for some testiculopathies mediated by oxidative stress.

Abstract
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prominent cause of death worldwide. Infliximab is one of the anti-TNF-α; herein, we studied the effect of infliximab on adenine-induced CKD. To inspect the role of infliximab, either ameliorative or curative, on CDK induced with adenine. Thirty Wistar albino rats were separated into five groups of 6 rats' each: rats of group Ι were kept as control given saline, rats of group II were treated with infliximab (5 mg/kg, i.p.) for 5 weeks, rats of group ΙΙΙ (the diseased group) had an adenine containing diet (0.25% W/W in feed) for 5 weeks, rats of group ΙV (the ameliorative group) had an adenine-containing diet and infliximab (5 mg/kg, i.p.) for 5 weeks simultaneously, and rats of group V (the curative group) had adenine containing diet then a single dose of infliximab (5 mg/kg, i.p.) was given in the 6th week. Infliximab treatment revealed a decrease in the plasma levels of urea, creatinine, NGAL, and MDA with a substantial increase in TAC. Also, inflammatory mediators such as IL-6 and NF-κB were significantly decreased with the down-regulation of the ASK1/MAPK/JNK pathway. Caspase 3 was downregulated. Also, infliximab treatment exhibited improvement in the histological and immunohistochemical kidney changes. Through its involvement in reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis, infliximab has an ameliorative and curative effect on CKD induced with adenine.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hypertensive patients are more susceptible to develop hypotension after the induction of general anesthesia (GA), most likely due to hypovolemia. An inferior vena cava collapsibility index (IVCCI) > 40-50% can predict hypotension after the induction of GA in the general population by variable accuracies. The current study aimed to investigate IVCCI% as a predictor of postinduction hypotension in hypertensive patients undergoing noncardiac surgery. METHODS Ultrasound IVCCI % was assessed for all controlled hypertensive patients immediately before induction of GA. After induction of GA, patients were diagnosed with postinduction hypotension if their systolic arterial pressure (SAP) dropped by ≥ 30% of the baseline value and/or mean arterial pressure (MAP) dropped to < 65 mmHg up to 15 min after intubation. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of IVCCI% was compared to patients' classification either developing hypotension after induction of GA or not as a gold standard. RESULTS Of the 153 patients who completed the study, 62 (40.5%) developed hypotension after the induction of GA, and 91 (59.5%) did not. An IVCCI > 39% predicted the occurrence of postinduction hypotension with high accuracy (84%) (AUC 0.908, P < 0.001). The area of uncertainty (by gray zone analysis) of IVCCI lies at values from 39 to 45%. This gray zone included 21 patients (13.7% of all patients). CONCLUSION An inferior vena cava collapsibility index > 39% before anesthetic induction can be a simple noninvasive reliable predictor of hypotension after the induction of GA for hypertensive patients not treated with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and undergoing noncardiac surgery. TRIAL REGISTRATION This clinical trial was approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Zagazig University (ZUIRB #9424 dated 03/04/2022), and patients' informed consent for participation in the study was obtained during the period from May 2022 to May 2023. All study procedures were carried out in accordance with the ethical standards of the Helsinki Declaration of 2013.

Abstract
The performance and dependability of distribution networks may be enhanced by the incorporation of microgrids (MGs). However, it is necessary to enhance low voltage fault-ride-through (LVFRT), which has the capacity to prevent abrupt grid disconnections during LV occurrences under problematic circumstances. In this study, a control strategy for energy storage elements (ESDs) which includes batteries and supercapacitors is proposed to enhance LVFRT under balanced and unbalanced faults. The MG comprises wind farms and/or photovoltaic arrays. Based on the dynamic simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK, the ESDs can enhance LVFRT capability. A comparison of the conventional crowbar scheme and ESDs is realized, and the latter has a better performance than the former in retaining the DC-link voltage within satisfactory bounds. For the purpose of maintaining the DC-link voltage at a reference level, the battery stores extra power in the DC-bus of three systems. LVFRT is improved by the crowbar circuit, however the resistance consumes the extra power. Super capacitors (SCs) prevent DC voltage fluctuations, reduce active power oscillations, and hasten system stabilization when present. At an advanced stage of this effort, the coot bird optimizer (CBO) is applied to generate the best gains of bi-directional converter PI-controller and the ESDs ratings to have minimum ripples in the DC-bus voltage and to boost the LVFRT capability of the MGs. The viability of the proposed method based on the CBO's results is indicated with further validations under different operating scenarios.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Flexible denture base polymers have gained popularity in modern dentistry however, their biofilm formation tendency, adversely affecting the oral tissue heath, remains a concern. Consequently, this study aimed to evaluate surface roughness and biofilm formation tendency of two types of denture base resins manufactured with two techniques before and after surface coating with chlorohexidine (CHX) NPs. MATERIALS AND METHODS Acetal (AC) and Polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) resins manufactured by conventional and CAD/CAM methods were shaped into disk (10 X 10 X 1 mm). They were dipped for 8 h and 24 h in colloidal suspension prepared by mixing aqueous solution of CHX digluconate and hexa-metaphosphate (0.01 M). Surface roughness, optical density (OD) of microbial growth media and biofilm formation tendency were evaluated directly after coating. Elutes concentrations of released CHX were evaluated for 19 days using spectrophotometer. Three-way ANOVA and Tukey's post-hoc statistical analysis were used to assess the outcomes. RESULTS AC CAD/CAM groups showed statistically significant higher roughness before and after coating (54.703 ± 4.32 and 77.58 ± 6.07 nm, respectively). All groups showed significant reduction in OD and biofilm formation tendency after surface coating even after 19 days of CHX NPs release. CONCLUSIONS Biofilm formation tendency was highly relevant to surface roughness of tested resins before coating. After CHX NPs coating all tested groups showed significant impact on microbial growth and reduction in biofilm formation tendency with no relation to surface roughness. Significant antimicrobial effect remained even after 19 days of NPs release and specimens storage.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Drug-coated balloons (DCBs) are an established strategy for coronary artery disease. However, the new generation drug-eluting stent (DES) is recommended for patients with Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) for coronary artery revascularization. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive appraisal of the efficacy of DCBs in patients with AMI undergoing PCI. METHODS We searched the WOS, PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane CENTRAL till March 2023, for studies that compared DCBs versus DES in patients with AMI undergoing PCI. We used a random-effects model to compare major adverse cardiac events (MACE), cardiac death, all-cause death, myocardial infarction, target lesion revascularization (TLR), stent thrombosis, Late lumen Loss (LLL), and minimum lumen diameter (MLD) between the two groups. RESULTS Thirteen studies comprising 2644 patients were included. The pooled OR showed non-inferiority of DCB over DES in terms of MACE (OR = 0.89, 95% CI [0.57 to 1.40], p = 0.63). When we defined MACE as a composite of cardiac death, MI, and TLR; the pooled OR favored DCB over DES (OR = 0.50, 95% CI [0.28 to 0.9], p = 0.02). Moreover, DCB was not inferior to DES in terms of all-cause mortality (OR = 0.88, 95% CI: 0.43 to 1.8, p = 0.73), cardiac mortality, (OR = 0.59, 95% CI: 0.22 to 1.56, p = 0.29), MI (OR = 0.88, 95% CI: 0.34 to 2.29, p = 0.79), stent thrombosis (OR = 1.21, 95% CI: 0.35 to 4.23, p = 0.76), TLR (OR = 0.9, 95% CI: 0.43 to 1.93, p = 0.8), LLL (MD = -0.6, 95% CI: -0.3 to 0.19, p = 0.64), or MLD (MD = -0.4, 95% CI: -0.33 to 0.25, p = 0.76). CONCLUSION Our meta-analysis indicated that DCB intervention was not inferior to DES in the PCI setting in patients with AMI, and can be recommended as a feasible strategy in AMI. Abstract
BACKGROUND Administration of adjuvant drugs epidurally in combination with local anesthetics offers new dimensions in the management of postoperative pain. This study aimed to compare the addition of either nalbuphine or dexmedetomidine to epidural bupivacaine for postoperative analgesia in lower limb orthopedic surgeries under combined spinal-epidural anesthesia. METHODS This prospective randomized double-blind study included 69 patients scheduled for lower limb orthopedic surgeries. Anesthesia was started with 15 mg hyperbaric bupivacaine 0.5% intrathecally, and then an epidural bolus dose of 12 ml (10 ml 0.25% bupivacaine with 2 ml normal saline in group C, 2 ml (10 mg) nalbuphine in group N or dexmedetomidine 2 ml (100 µg) in group D was administered when sensory regression to T10. Postoperatively, when visual analogue scale (VAS) was ≥ 3, an epidural top-up dose of 8 ml (6 ml 0.25% bupivacaine plus 2 ml normal saline in group C, 2 ml (2 mg) nalbuphine in group N or 20 µg dexmedetomidine (2 ml) in group D was given. The primary outcome was to evaluate the duration of postoperative analgesia and secondary outcomes were any side effects and patient satisfaction. RESULTS The onset of epidural analgesia was 17.83 ± 2.53 versus 13.39 ± 1.27 versus 12.17 ± 1.27 min in groups C, N and D, respectively (p value < 0.001). The mean duration of analgesia was 241.3 ± 14.24 versus 318.38 ± 22.54 versus 365.87 ± 18.01 min in groups C, N and D, respectively (p value < 0.001). The mean sedation score was less in group C than group N and D (P < 0.001). The patient satisfaction score showed the lowest degree of satisfaction in group C (p value < 0.001). Top-up doses consumed and total analgesic requirements were lower in groups N and D than in group C. There was a statistically significant difference between the studied groups regarding VAS over time (p value < 0.001), intraoperative bradycardia (p value 0.029), and shivering (p value 0.029). CONCLUSION The addition of either nalbuphine or dexmedetomidine to epidural bupivacaine was effective for postoperative analgesia in terms of onset, duration, and patient satisfaction with the superiority of dexmedetomidine over nalbuphine. TRIAL REGISTRATION Approval from the research ethics committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University was obtained with the reference number (ZU-IRB#:7045-15-8-2021) and it was registered under clinicaltrials.gov (NCT05041270) on registration date 13/09/2021.

Abstract
Acrylamide is the major by-product of the Maillard reactions in foods with the overheating processes of L-asparagine-rich foods with reducing sugars that usually allied with neurotoxicity and carcinogenicity. Several approaches have been used to prevent the formation of acrylamide, however, degrading the already formed acrylamide in foods remains unequivocal. Acrylamide hydrolyzing enzyme "amidohydrolase" is one of the most promising enzymes for acrylamide degradation in foods. So, amidohydrolase "amidase" from thermotolerant Aspergillus fumigatus EFBL was purified to their electrophoretic homogeneity by gel-filtration and ion-exchange chromatography, with overall purification folds 2.8 and yield 9.43%. The apparent molecular subunit structure of the purified A. fumigatus amidase was 50 kDa, with highest activity at reaction temperature of 40 °C and pH of 7.5 The enzyme displayed a significant thermal stability as revealed from the value of T1/2 (13.37 h), and thermal denaturation rate (Kr 0.832 × 10-3 min) at 50 °C, with metalloproteinic identity. The purified enzyme had a significant activity for acrylamide degradation in various food products such as meat, cookies, potato chips, and bread as revealed from the HPLC analysis and LC-MS analysis. So, with the purified amidase, the acrylamide in the food products was degraded by about 95% to acrylic acid, ensuring the possibility of using this enzyme in abolishing the toxic acrylamide in the foods products. This is the first report exploring the potency of A. fumigatus amidase for an actual degradation of acrylamide in foods efficiently. Further biochemical analyses are ongoing to assess the affinity of this enzyme for selective hydrolyses of acrylamide in foods, without affecting the beneficial stereochemical related compounds.

Abstract
Though pathogenesis of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is still rendered unclear, yet there are many research efforts that have been directed to the role of T helper 17 (Th17) and interleukin 17 (IL-17) in the pathogenesis of this disease. The Th17 cell, which produces IL-17, is a subset of T helper cells. Interleukin 17 is pro-inflammatory cytokine that is recently proved to have a crucial role in the emergence of autoimmune diseases. We aimed to investigate the role of T helper17 cells and interleukin-17 in the pathogenesis of ITP in Egyptian children. This study was carried out on 100 children with ITP and 100 apparently healthy children as a control group. Patients were subjected to full medical history taking, thorough physical examination and routine investigations according to our local standards. Percentage of Th17 cells was measured by flow cytometry in study groups. Also, serum IL-17 was measured in in study groups by ELISA. Th 17 cells were significantly higher in patients compared to controls. Moreover, 3.1-fold increased serum levels of IL-17 were observed in patients with ITP compared to controls. Newly diagnosed patients had significantly higher percentage of Th-17cells as well as higher IL-17 levels than patients with either persistent or chronic ITP. Conclusion: We concluded that Th 17 cells and IL-17 seem to play an important role in the pathogenesis of ITP in Egyptian children. What is Known -- What is New: • The pathogenesis of ITP is heterogeneous A novel subset of CD4+ T cells, distinct from Th1 and Th2, was recently identified. It is characterized by the production of IL-17 and, therefore, designated as Th17 cells. Several studies support a pivotal role for serum cytokines in the pathogenesis of ITP and provide evidence to suggest that helper Tlymphocytes polarize into Th1 and Th2 immune response. we aimed to investigate the role of T helper17 cells and interleukin-17 in the pathogenesis of ITP in Egyptian children.

Abstract
Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common neurodegenerative disorder, is characterized by behavioral, cognitive, and progressive memory impairments. Extensive neuronal loss, extracellular accumulation of insoluble senile amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques, and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) are the major pathological features. The present study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of donepezil (DON) and pentoxifylline (PTX) in combination to combat the neurodegenerative disorders (experimental AD) induced by CuSO4 intake in experimental rats. Thirty adult male Wistar rats (140-160 g) were used in this study. AD was first induced in rats by CuSO4 supplement to drinking water (10 mg/L) for 14 weeks. The AD group received no further treatment. Oral treatment with DON (10 mg/kg/day), PTX (100 mg/kg/day), or DON + PTX for the other three groups was started from the 10th week of CuSO4 intake for 4 weeks. Cortex markers like acetylcholine (ACh), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), and malondialdehyde (MDA) and hippocampus markers like β-amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1), phosphorylated Tau (p-tau), Clusterin (CLU), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), caspase-9 (CAS-9), Bax, and Bcl-2 were measured. The histopathology studies were done by using hematoxylin and eosin and Congo red stains as well as immunohistochemistry for neurofilament. CuSO4 induced adverse histological and biochemical changes. The histological injury in the hippocampus was inhibited following the administration of the DON and PTX. The brain tissue levels of AChE, MDA, BACE1, p-tau, CLU, CAS-9, Bax, and TNF-α were significantly increased, while brain tissue levels of ACh, TAC, and Bcl-2 were significantly decreased in CuSO4-treated rats as compared with the untreated control group. The effects induced by either DON or PTX on most studied parameters were comparable. Combined treatment of DON and PTX induced remarkable results compared with their individual use. However, more clinical and preclinical studies are still required to further confirm and prove the long-term efficacy of such combination.

Abstract
Treatment of anogenital warts (AGWs) is challenging. Candida antigen immunotherapy has been proven to be a safe and relatively effective therapeutic modality; nevertheless, some patients may experience a partial or no response. Combining Candida antigen with other immunotherapies has been proposed to improve the cure rate. Immunotherapy with human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines has been tried with conflicting outcomes. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of intralesional Candida antigen, either alone or in combination with intralesional bivalent or quadrivalent HPV vaccines, for treating multiple AGWs. Eighty patients with multiple AGWs were included and randomly assigned to four equal groups: group A treated with intralesional Candida antigen only; group B treated with intralesional bivalent HPV vaccine (Cervarix) and Candida; group C treated with intralesional quadrivalent HPV vaccine (Gardasil) and Candida; and group D (control) treated with intralesional saline. Complete clearance of lesions was detected in 40%, 20%, and 60% of patients in Candida monotherapy, Cervarix/Candida, and Gardasil/Candida groups, respectively, whereas 40%, 60%, and 20% of patients in the three groups, respectively, showed partial response. Only 10% of the control group had a partial response. Therapeutic outcomes were significantly better in the three treatment groups compared to the control group, with no statistically significant difference between the Candida monotherapy group and the combination groups, but the response was significantly better in the Gardasil/Candida group than in the Cervarix/Candida group. No statistically significant difference was found between the studied groups regarding the development of side effects. Moreover, no recurrence was detected in any of the groups throughout the 3-month follow-up period. Based on our results, combining intralesional HPV vaccines with Candida antigen immunotherapy may have no significant benefit for treating multiple AGWs. Candida antigen may be recommended as a relatively effective and inexpensive therapeutic modality. The combination of Gardasil and Candida was also effective but very expensive. The results of the Cervarix/Candida combination were unsatisfactory. This clinical trial was registered and approved prospectively by the ethical review board at Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University.

Abstract
Β-arrestins are intracellular scaffolding proteins that have multifaceted roles in different types of disorders. In this review article, we gave a summary about the discovery, characterization and classification of these proteins and their intracellular functions. Moreover, this review article focused on the hepatic expression of β-arrestins and their hepatocellular distribution and function in each liver cell type. Also, we showed that β-arrestins are key regulators of distinct types of hepatic disorders. On the other hand, we addressed some important points that have never been studied before regarding the role of β-arrestins in certain types of hepatic disorders which needs more research efforts to cover.

Abstract
This study (60 days) was conducted to investigate the ability of diet enriched with Coriandrum sativum powder or its extract to protect Oreochromis niloticus health and survivability at suboptimal temperature (21 ℃). One hundred and twenty (33.14 ± 0.5 g) were divided into four groups; each group has three replicates.. The first control group fed on a basal diet. Second and third groups fed on diet enriched with 30 mg/kg coriander seed powder (CP) and coriander seed ethanolic extract (CE), respectively. The fourth group (OT) fed on diet enriched with 500 mg oxytetracycline/kg diet. The results revealed that CE exhibited a considerable improvement in hematological parameters, hepatic-renal functions, antioxidant status, and immunological markers as well as remarkably increased resistance against Aeromonas veronii. It could be concluded that feeding tilapia CE enriched diet at 30 mg/kg is a recommended strategy to enhance tilapia health and resistance to A. veronii infection reared at 21 ℃.

Abstract
Acrylamide (ACR) is widely applied in various industrial activities, as well as in the water purification process. Furthermore, ACR is synthesized naturally in some starchy grains exposed to high temperatures for an extended time during the cooking process. Because of its widespread industrial usage, ACR might be released into water stream sources. Also, ACR poses a high risk of contaminated surface and ground-water resources due to its high solubility and mobility in water. Furthermore, animal studies have indicated that ACR exposure may cause cancer (in many organs such as lung, prostate, uterus, and pancreas), genetic damage (in both somatic and germ cells), and severe effects on reproduction and development. Recently, numerous studies have shown that ACR has a mild acute cytotoxic impact on aquatic species, particularly during early life stages. Besides, wide-spectrum usage of ACR in many industrial activities presented higher environmental risks as well as major hazards to consumer health. This literature was designed to include all potential and accessible reports on ACR toxicity related with aquatic species. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews were applied to evaluate the risk effects of ACR on aquatic organisms, the ACR sub-lethal concentration in the ecosystem, and the possible protective benefits of various feed additives against ACR toxicity in fish. The major findings are summarized in Tables 2 and 3. The primary aim of this literature was to specify the hazards of ACR toxicity related with fish welfare and possible suggested strategies to reduce its risks.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Quadpill, a single pill containing a quadruple combination of quarter doses of four antihypertensive agents, has been investigated for hypertension treatment. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of quadpill for hypertension management. METHODS We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis synthesizing randomized controlled trials evaluating quadpill versus monotherapy or placebo in patients with hypertension, which were retrieved by systematically searching PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, SCOPUS, and Cochrane through 17 February, 2023. Continuous and dichotomous outcomes were pooled using mean difference (MD) and risk ratio (RR) along with confidence interval (CI), using Revman Version 5.4 software. Our protocol has been published in PROSPERO with ID: CRD42023406527. RESULTS Four randomized controlled trials with a total of 779 patients were included in our analysis. Quadpill was effective in controlling systolic blood pressure in the short term [4-6 weeks] (RR: - 13.00 with 95% CI [- 17.22, - 8.78], p = 0.00001) and in the long term [12 weeks] (RR: - 6.18 with 95% CI [- 9.35, - 3.01], p = 0.0001). Quadpill was also effective in controlling automated diastolic blood pressure in the short term [4-6 weeks] (MD: - 8.15 with 95% CI [- 9.42, - 6.89], p = 0.00001) and in the long term [12 weeks] (MD: - 6.35 with 95% CI [- 10.37, - 2.33], p = 0.002). Moreover, patients in the quadpill group significantly achieved target blood pressure <140/90 (RR: 1.77 with 95% CI [1.26, 2.51], p = 0.001) compared with the control group. CONCLUSIONS The quadruple ultra-low-dose combination of antihypertensive drugs (quadpill) was effective and safe for hypertension treatment. However, further large-scale, multicenter, randomized controlled trials are still warranted before endorsement in clinical practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Following the changing pattern of post-operative CRP and WBC counts and compare them to the patient's clinical condition to find which one is better for early detection of early infection. METHODS A total of 50 patients who underwent spinal deformity correction surgery without clinical signs of infection such as fever, wound redness, or discharge were enrolled in this prospective study. The C-reactive protein (CRP) and white blood cell (WBC) counts were measured the 2nd and 7th post-operative days. We try to detect the type of correlation between both CRP and WBCs level and clinical condition of patient regarding wound local condition. RESULTS All cases showed high CRP by the 2nd day post-operative which decreased significantly but not reaching normal levels even by the 7th day. All cases showed elevated WBCs count by the 2nd day which decreased to normal levels by the 3rd day in 86% of patients, and by the 7th day, 94% of cases showed normal levels. In addition, WBCs in the 2nd day post-operative significantly positive correlated with fusion level and operative time. There was no significant correlation between WBCs and blood transfusion or age. No significant correlation between CRP and number of fusion levels, blood transfusion nor operative time. CONCLUSION WBCs count returned earlier to normal levels than CRP in our cases, so monitoring early changes in the 1st week in WBCs count pattern is more indicative of an ongoing infectious process.

Abstract
The magnetic coupler is the most vital component for charging EV wirelessly. Through it, the output power can be transported from the transmitter to the receiver by means of electromagnetic fields. Therefore, this manuscript presents a proposed design of a magnetic coupler in the form of Double-D (DD) on both sides, which is suitable for in-motion inductive charging. This charger is capable of transferring power of 200-kW through an airgap of 250 mm with an efficiency of 91.88% and an operating frequency of 85 kHz. Computational modeling is conducted to obtain the magnetic coupler and the compensation parameters of the proposed system. The appropriate dimensions of the coils, magnetic and metallic shielding are obtained by using the finite element model (FEM). The effect of misalignments on the self and mutual inductances of the two coils (Lp, Ls, M), the output power (Po), and the transmission efficiency (η) is studied in case of one and two coils at transmitter side. The output power in the distance between the two transmitter coils (d) is improved by controlling the operating frequency, adding magnetizable concrete (MC), or both together. These techniques have proven effectiveness in improving the output power by 45.15% for small d and 72.51% for large d. In addition, the efficiency improved by 15.95% for small d and 60.76% for large d. Moreover, these improvement cases were compared in terms of size, weight and cost for a 100-m driving track.

Abstract
Working horses support the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Egypt. No previous study has investigated the prevalence of cryptosporidiosis in working horses in Egypt. Faecal samples were collected from 607 working horses recruited from thirty-seven villages/areas in two Egyptian governorates and examined for Cryptosporidium spp. infection using the modified Zielh-Neelsen staining technique. Data on signalment, history of recent diarrhoea, and strongyle burden were collected. The prevalence of Cryptosporidium spp. infection was calculated using a bootstrap method and potential risk factors for infection were investigated using mixed-effects logistic regression models that included sampling location as a random-effects variable. The prevalence of Cryptosporidium spp. infection was 28.7% (95% confidence interval = 23.5-33.9). None of the variables investigated, which include age, sex of the animals, and strongyle burden, were associated with risk of infection. This study provided evidence-based information on the prevalence of Cryptosporidium spp. infection in the study area. However, the potential zoonotic risk of Cryptosporidium cannot be confirmed until further studies are conducted to genotype these parasites.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hyaluronic acid (HA) has gained significant attention due to its unique physical, chemical, and biological properties, making it widely used in various industries. This study aimed to screen bacterial isolates for HA production, characterize favorable fermentation conditions, and evaluate the inhibitory effect of bacterial HA on cancer cell lines. RESULTS A total of 108 bacterial isolates from diverse sources were screened for HA production using HPLC, turbidimetric, and carbazole determination methods. Among the HA-producing isolates, Klebsiella pneumoniae H15 isolated from an animal feces sample, was superior in HA production. The strain was characterized based on its morphological, cultural, and biochemical characteristics. Molecular identification using 16S rDNA sequencing and phylogenetic analysis confirmed its identity. Fermentation conditions, including pH, temperature, time, and agitation rate, were optimized to maximize HA production. The basal medium, comprising sucrose (7.0%) as carbon source and combined yeast extract with peptone (1.25% each) as nitrogen substrate, favored the highest HA production at pH 8.0, for 30 h, at 30 °C, under shaking at 180 rpm. The average maximized HA concentration reached 1.5 g L-1. Furthermore, bacterial HA exhibited a significant inhibitory effect on three cancer cell lines (MCF-7, HepG-2 and HCT), with the lowest concentration ranging from 0.98-3.91 µg mL-1. CONCLUSIONS K. pneumoniae H15, isolated from animal feces demonstrated promising potential for HA production. The most favorable fermentation conditions led to a high HA production. The inhibitory effect of bacterial HA on cancer cell lines highlights its potential therapeutic applications. These findings contribute to a broader understanding and utilization of HA in various industries and therapeutic applications.

Abstract
Creating ultrathin, mountable fibers from a wide range of polymeric functional materials has made electrospinning an adequate approach to producing highly flexible and elastic materials. In this paper, electrospinning was utilized to produce thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanofibrous membranes for the purpose of studying their thermal and mechanical properties. Towards a study of the effects of fiber orientation and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as a filler on both mechanical and thermal characteristics of electrospun TPU mats, an experimental comparison was held between unidirectional and randomly aligned TPU and TPU/MWCNTs nanofibrous structures. The incorporation of MWCNTs into randomly oriented TPU nanofibers resulted in a significant increase in Young's modulus (E), from 3.9 to 7.5 MPa. On the other hand, for unidirectionally spun fibers, Young's modulus increased from 17.1 to 18.4 MPa upon the addition of MWCNTs. However, dynamic mechanical analysis revealed a different behavior. The randomly oriented specimens exhibited a storage modulus with a significant increase from 180 to 614 MPa for TPU and TPU/MWCNTs mats, respectively, and a slight increase from 119 to 143 MPa for unidirectional TPU and TPU/MWCNTs mats, respectively. Meanwhile, the loss modulus increased with the addition of MWCNTs from 15.7 to 58.9 MPa and from 6.4 to 12 MPa for the random and aligned fibers, respectively. The glass transition values for all the mats fell in the temperature range of - 60 to - 20 °C. The thermal degradation of the membranes was not significantly affected by the addition of MWCNTs, indicating that the mixing of the two constituents did not change the TPU's polymer structure and that the TPU/MWCNTs nanocomposite exhibited stable thermal degradation properties.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vital pulp therapy, based on the use of stem cells, has promising research and therapeutic applications in dentistry. It is essential to understand the direct effect of capping materials on the dental pulp stem cells of primary teeth, which contribute to the healing powers of the tooth. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of different capping materials (Calcium Hydroxide (DyCal®) - Glass Ionomer (Fuji IX®) and light-cured resin modified calcium silicate (TheraCal LC®)) on the viability, proliferation, and differentiation of stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs). METHODS SHEDs were isolated from extracted primary teeth, then divided into four groups and each of the capping materials were applied to the stem cells as follows: group I the controls, group II with Ca(OH)2, group III with the GIC, and group IV with the Theracal LC. For all groups assessment of viability and proliferation rate was done using the MTT cell proliferation assay. Also, Differentiation was evaluated by measuring the gene expression of Alkaline phosphatase enzyme activity (ALP) and Dentin matrix protein-1 (DMP1) through quantitative real-time PCR. Morphological assessment was conducted using Alizarin Red S staining. All evaluations were performed after 7 and 14 days of culture. RESULTS TheraCal LC showed the highest values of proliferation, which was significant only compared to the control group after 2 weeks (p = 0.012). After one week, TheraCal LC showed the highest significant values of ALP and DMP1 compared to all other groups (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION The three materials under study are biocompatible, maintain viability, and stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of SHEDs. However, TheraCal LC allows better proliferation of SHEDs than Dycal Ca(OH)2 and Fuji IX GIC.

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate ceftriaxone pharmacokinetics that affects the achievement of targets in the treatment of critically ill children (meningitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, peritonitis, and infective endocarditis( who were admitted to Zagazig University Pediatric hospital in Egypt to monitor for the drug adverse effects.Blood samples were obtained from 24 hospitalized pediatric patients (ages ranging from 2.5 months to 12 years) after administering the calculated dose of ceftriaxone via intravenous bolus route. Then, ceftriaxone plasma concentrations were measured using a validated HPLC method with ultraviolet detection. The pharmacokinetic analysis was conducted using Phoenix Winnonlin Program® software.Data for total and free ceftriaxone best fitted on a one-compartment model with the first-order elimination process. Clearance of ceftriaxone is reduced for patients with reduced kidney function and increased with those with augmented renal clearance. The volume of distribution and the free fraction are increased in these patients, especially those with hypoalbuminemia with a shorter half-life time were detected. A slight increase in total bilirubin and liver enzymes has been observed after treatment with ceftriaxone in these patients. Conclusion: In most critically ill pediatric patients, the current ceftriaxone treatment regimen (50 to 100 mg/kg) offers adequate pathogenic coverage. The clearance of free ceftriaxone in all patients correlates well with their renal function (eGFR), with r2 = 0.7252. During therapy with ceftriaxone at all doses ranging from 50 to 100 mg/kg, a rise in total bilirubin was observed in these patients. Moreover, liver enzymes (ALT and AST) increased moderately (p 0.0001). So, it is recommended to monitor total bilirubin and liver enzymes during the treatment with ceftriaxone, especially for a long duration (more than 5 days) or use another agent in patients with high baseline values. What is Known: • The dosing regimen of ceftriaxone (50 to 100 mg/kg) provided optimum therapeutic outcomes. • Some studies show data for total and free Ceftriaxone best fitted on a one-compartment model while other studies show data for total and free Ceftriaxone best fitted on a two-compartment model. What is New: • Up to my knowledge this is the first study ,considering individual pharmacokinetic analysis, conducted on hospitalized Egyptian pediatric population most of them with reduced kidney function with ages ranging from 2.5 months to 12 years. Data for total and free Ceftriaxone best fitted on a one-compartment model with linear clearance of the free ceftriaxone. • In all patients, total bilirubin and liver function tests were mildly increased, making them at risk for cholestasis or ceftriaxone-induced cholestatic hepatitis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a nosocomial bacterium responsible for variety of infections. Inappropriate use of antibiotics could lead to emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) P. aeruginosa strains. Herein, a virulent phage; vB_PaeM_PS3 was isolated and tested for its application as alternative to antibiotics for controlling P. aeruginosa infections. METHODS Phage morphology was observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The phage host range and efficiency of plating (EOP) in addition to phage stability were analyzed. One-step growth curve was performed to detect phage growth kinetics. The impact of isolated phage on planktonic cells and biofilms was assessed. The phage genome was sequenced. Finally, the therapeutic potential of vB_PaeM_PS3 was determined in vivo. RESULTS Isolated phage has an icosahedral head and a contractile tail and was assigned to the family Myoviridae. The phage vB_PaeM_PS3 displayed a broad host range, strong bacteriolytic ability, and higher environmental stability. Isolated phage showed a short latent period and large burst size. Importantly, the phage vB_PaeM_PS3 effectively eradicated bacterial biofilms. The genome of vB_PaeM_PS3 consists of 93,922 bp of dsDNA with 49.39% G + C content. It contains 171 predicted open reading frames (ORFs) and 14 genes as tRNA. Interestingly, the phage vB_PaeM_PS3 significantly attenuated P. aeruginosa virulence in host where the survival of bacteria-infected mice was markedly enhanced following phage treatment. Moreover, the colonizing capability of P. aeruginosa was markedly impaired in phage-treated mice as compared to untreated infected mice. CONCLUSION Based on these findings, isolated phage vB_PaeM_PS3 could be potentially considered for treating of P. aeruginosa infections.
