Abstract
BACKGROUND There are few reports of longitudinal serologic responses in children following Sars-CoV-2 infection and vaccination. This study describes longitudinal SARS-CoV-2 antibody responses following infection, vaccination, or both (hybrid immunity) in a cohort of Canadian children. The objectives of our study were to compare antibody levels following SARS-CoV-2 infection, vaccination, and hybrid immunity and to examine antibody decline after final antigen exposure. METHODS The Alberta Childhood COVID-19 Cohort (AB3C) study was a prospective longitudinal cohort study conducted from July 2020 to September 2022 with repeat sampling across 5 visits. Children under 18 years of age were enrolled for serial measurement of antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 virus vaccine and infection. RESULTS The final sample size was 919; participants were 50.5% female, 48.2% were > 12 years and 88.5% were white ethnicity. The median peak spike IgG level of those with only infection was not different from those with no vaccination or infection (233 AU/mL (IQR: 99-944 AU/mL) vs. 3 AU/mL (IQR: 1-5 AU/mL; P = 0.1765). Participants with infections after vaccination had higher IgG levels than those where infection preceded vaccination (median: 36,660 (IQR: 22,084 - 40,000 AU/mL) vs. 17,461 AU/mL (IQR: 10,617 - 33,212 AU/mL); P < 0.0001). In a linear mixed methods model, children with infection-only had low levels of antibody that stayed stable over the study duration without further antigen exposures. Those with infection after vaccination had the slowest rate of antibody decline over time at 4% (95%CI: 2-5%) per week, compared with children where infection preceded vaccine 7% (95%CI: 6-8%) per week. CONCLUSIONS Children with hybrid immunity conferred through vaccination (2 + doses) followed by a SARS-CoV-2 infection had the highest and longest lasting antibody levels, compared to children who had an infection followed by vaccination, vaccination-only, or infection-only. The longer-term clinical importance of these findings, related to prevention of repeated infections and severe outcomes and need for further vaccine doses, is not yet known.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Seroprevalence studies provide information on the true extent of infection and capture demographic and geographic differences, indicating the level of immunity against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). We sought to provide local evidence of SARS-CoV-2 exposure in school-aged children during in-class teaching in Maputo City and Province, Mozambique. METHODS Between August and November 2022, we performed a cross-sectional study in school-aged children in four schools in rural, peri-urban, and urban areas of Maputo City and Province. A point-of-care test was used to evaluate SARS-CoV-2 antigens and anti-SARS-CoV-2-specific immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. Descriptive statistics were used to estimate the prevalence of the antigens and antibodies. Multiple logistic regression models were used to estimate the adjusted odds ratio (AOR) for the factors associated with anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. RESULTS A total of 736 school-aged children were analyzed. The prevalence of the SARS-CoV-2 antigen was 0.5% (4/736). The prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antigens was 0.0% (0/245), 0.8% (2/240) and 0.8% (2/251), in the rural, peri-urban and urban areas respectively. The overall seroprevalence of the anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies (IgG or IgM) was 80.7% (594/736). In rural area anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG or IgM antibodies were detected in 76.7% (188/245), while in peri-urban area they were detected in 80.0% (192/240) and in urban area they were detected in 85.3% (214/251). In the adjusted logistic regression model, school-aged children from the urban area were more likely to have anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG or IgM antibodies than were school-aged children from the rural area (adjusted odds ratio: 1.679; 95% CI: 1.060-2.684; p-value = 0.028). CONCLUSIONS During the in-class teaching period, active SARS-CoV-2 cases in school-aged children were observed. More than half of the school-aged children were exposed to SARS-CoV-2, and SARS-CoV-2 was significantly more common in the schools at the urban area than in the school in the rural area at Maputo City and Province.

Abstract
Repeated serological testing tells about the change in the overall infection in a community. This study aimed to evaluate changes in antibody prevalence and kinetics in a closed cohort over six months in different sub-populations in India. The study included 10,000 participants from rural and urban areas in five states and measured SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in serum in three follow-up rounds. The overall seroprevalence increased from 73.9% in round one to 90.7% in round two and 92.9% in round three. Among seropositive rural participants in round one, 98.2% remained positive in round two, and this percentage remained stable in urban and tribal areas in round three. The results showed high antibody prevalence that increased over time and was not different based on area, age group, or sex. Vaccinated individuals had higher antibody prevalence, and nearly all participants had antibody positivity for up to six months.

Abstract
Adenovirus, adeno-associated virus, and severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV2) have been recently implicated as probable causative agents of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology reported from most of Europe. High mortality and liver transplantation (LT) rates have been observed in those presenting with acute liver failure (ALF). Such cases have not been reported from the Indian subcontinent. We analyzed the etiologies, clinical course, and in-hospital outcomes of cases of severe acute hepatitis with ALF presenting to us between May and October 2022. A total of 178 children presented with severe acute hepatitis of known/unknown etiology including 28 presenting as ALF. Eight of them fulfilled the definition of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology presenting as ALF. Adenovirus was not associated with cases of ALF in these children. SARS-COV2 antibodies were detected in 6 (75%) of them. Children with severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology presenting as ALF were young (median age 4 years), had hyper-acute presentation with a predominance of gastrointestinal symptoms, and a fulminant course with worse outcomes (native liver survival 25%). Expedited evaluation of these children for LT would be the key to management.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the seroprevalence of SARS COV 2 among children in the Bangalore Rural district. METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional study after the second surge of COVID-19 from 14 June to 13 July 2021 and recruited 412 children through house to house visits from four villages in a rural district. We administered a questionnaire to collect demographics and details of COVID-19 infection and used the ABCHEK Antibody Card test (NuLifecare,India) which is an ICMR approved test for detecting antibodies (IgG & IgM) by immunochromatography using the finger prick method. We used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20.0 for analysis. RESULTS Our participants had an age group ranging from 11 months to 18 years. There was an almost equal distribution of boys (48.3%) and girls (51.7%). We estimated seroprevalence of 45.9% (95% CI: 41-50.8) among children. Seroprevalence was significantly associated with a history of symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 in the past, the seropositive status of the parents, and any other family members being tested positive. Age and gender of the child, education and occupation of the parents were not associated with the seropositivity status of the child. CONCLUSION Seroprevalence of COVID-19 among children corresponds to adult seroprevalence during the same time interval. This knowledge can be of practical application where adult prevalence is documented. Unvaccinated children in low-resource settings need special attention with respect to monitoring for new mutations as well as managing endemic needs.
