Abstract
Background Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a chronic disabling disease caused by degeneration of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased activity and the number of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased extracellular matrix, and infiltration of inflammatory factors, resulting in low back and leg pain. Recent studies have shown that non-surgical treatment is of great significance in reversing the progression of degenerative disc disease, and there are more relevant literature reports. However, there is no bibliometric analysis in this area. This study aimed to describe the knowledge structure and thematic trends of non-surgical treatment methods for IDD through bibliometrics. Methods Articles and reviews on non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration from 1998 to 2022 were collected on the Web of Science. VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, R package "bibliometrix" and two online analysis platforms were used for bibliometric and visual literature analysis. Results 961 articles were screened for inclusion, including 821 articles and 140 reviews. The analysis of our study shows that publications in the non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration are increasing annually, with publications coming mainly from North America and Asia, with China and the United States dominating. Huazhong Univ Sci & Technol and Wang K are the most prolific institutions and authors, respectively, and Le Maitre CL is the most co-cited author. However, there is less collaboration between institutions in different countries. Spine is both the most published and the most cited journal. According to the co-citation and co-occurrence analysis results, "mesenchymal stem cells," "exosomes," "medication," and "tissue engineering" are the current research hotspots in this field. Conclusions This study employs bibliometric analysis to explore the knowledge structure and trends of non-surgical treatments for IDD from 2013 to 2022. Key research hotspots include mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes, medication, and tissue engineering. The number of publications, especially from China and the USA, has increased significantly, though international collaboration needs improvement. Influential contributors include Wang K and the journal Spine. These findings provide a comprehensive overview and highlight important future directions for the field.

Abstract
Objective Our study aimed to visualize the global status and frontiers in stem cell therapy for spinal cord injury by using bibliometric methodology. Methods Publication citation information related to stem cell therapy for spinal cord injury (SCI) studies between 2003 and 2022 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. For the visualized study, VOS viewer software and Graph Pad Prism 9.5 were used to perform bibliometric analysis of included data and publication number statistics in stem cell therapy for the SCI domain. Results A total of 6,686 publications were retrieved. The USA and China made the highest contributions to global research with the highest number of citations and link strength. The journal Experimental Neurology ranks as the top journal, combining the publication amount and bibliometrics results. The University of Toronto, based in Canada, was the first-ranking institution. The directions of the current study could be divided into five clusters. The research of Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine and Neurosciences Mechanism Research may be the emerging frontiers in this domain. Conclusion In summary, stem cell therapy for spinal cord injuries is poised for more valuable advances.

Abstract
Intervertebral disc degeneration is an important pathological basis for spinal degenerative diseases. The imbalance of the immune microenvironment and the involvement of immune cells has been shown to lead to nucleus pulposus cells death. This article presents a bibliometric analysis of studies on immune cells in IDD in order to clarify the current status and hotspots. We searched the WOSCC, Scopus and PubMed databases from 01/01/2001 to 08/03/2023. We analyzed and visualized the content using software such as Citespace, Vosviewer and the bibliometrix. This study found that the number of annual publications is increasing year on year. The journal study found that Spine had the highest number of articles and citations. The country/regions analysis showed that China had the highest number of publications, the USA had the highest number of citations and total link strength. The institutional analysis found that Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Huazhong University of Science Technology had the highest number of publications, Tokai University had the highest citations, and the University of Bern had the highest total link strength. Sakai D and Risbud MV had the highest number of publications. Sakai D had the highest total link strength, and Risbud MV had the highest number of citations. The results of the keyword analysis suggested that the current research hotspots and future directions continue to be the study of the mechanisms of immune cells in IDD, the therapeutic role of immune cells in IDD and the role of immune cells in tissue engineering for IDD.

Abstract
Background The pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been studied in relation to the microbiome, providing space for more targeted interventions and new treatments. Numerous papers on the COPD microbiome have been reported in the last 10 years, yet few publications have used bibliometric methods to evaluate this area. Methods We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for all original research articles in the field of COPD microbiome from January 2011 to August 2022 and used CiteSpace for visual analysis. Results A total of 505 relevant publications were obtained, and the number of global publications in this field is steadily increasing every year, with China and the USA occupying the first two spots in international publications. Imperial College London and the University of Leicester produced the most publications. Brightling C from the UK was the most prolific writer, while Huang Y and Sze M from the USA were first and second among the authors cited. The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine had the highest frequency of citations. The top 10 institutions, cited authors and journals are mostly from the UK and the US. In the ranking of citations, the first article was a paper published by Sze M on changes in the lung tissue's microbiota in COPD patients. The keywords "exacerbation", "gut microbiota", "lung microbiome", "airway microbiome", "bacterial colonization", and "inflammation" were identified as cutting-edge research projects for 2011-2022. Conclusion Based on the visualization results, in the future, we can use the gut-lung axis as the starting point to explore the immunoinflammatory mechanism of COPD, and study how to predict the effects of different treatments of COPD by identifying the microbiota, and how to achieve the optimal enrichment of beneficial bacteria and the optimal consumption of harmful bacteria to improve COPD.

Abstract
Background Quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has the function of noninvasive quantitative evaluation, providing unique advantages in intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) assessment. Although studies exploring the field for domestic and international scholars are increasingly being published, there is a lack of systematic scientific measurement and clinical analysis of the literature in this field. Methods Articles published from the respective database establishment to September 30, 2022, were obtained from the Web of Science core collection (WOSCC), PubMed database, and ClinicalTrials.gov. The scientometric software (VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, Scimago Graphica, and R software) were used for bibliometric and knowledge graph visualization analysis. Results We included 651 articles from the WOSCC database and 3 clinical studies from ClinicalTrials.gov for literature analysis. With the passage of time, the number of articles in this field gradually increased. The United States and China were the top 2 countries in terms of the number of publications and citations, and Chinese publications lacked international cooperation and exchange. The author with the most publications was Schleich C, while the author with the most citations was Borthakur A, who have both made important contributions to research in this field. The journal publishing the most relevant articles was Spine, and the journal with the most mean times cited per study was Radiology, both of which are the authoritative journals in this field. Keyword co-occurrence, clustering, timeline view, and emergent analysis revealed that recent studies in this field have focused on quantifying the biochemical components of the degenerated intervertebral disc (IVD). There were few available clinical studies. The more recent clinical studies mainly used molecular imaging technology to explore the relationship between different quantitative MRI sequence values and the IVD biomechanical environment and biochemical components content. Conclusions The study provided a knowledge map of quantitative MRI for IDD research in terms of countries, authors, journals, cited literature, and keywords through bibliometric analysis, and systematically sorted the current status, hotspots, and clinical research features in the field to provide a reference for future research.

Abstract
The proposal of carbon neutrality is a manifestation of actively responding to global warming and sustainable development, which means all greenhouse gases achieve near-zero emissions. China is also fulfilling its national mission in this regard. This paper collected 4922 documents from the "Web of Science Core Database" and used Citespace (6.1.R2 Advanced) and Vosviewer (1.6.18) software and Bibliometrix functions to carry out descriptive statistics on the number of publications, cooperation mechanisms, and keyword hotspots, finding that the literature mainly focused on China's carbon neutrality, carbon emissions, energy efficiency, sustainable development, and other related topics in the past two years. Further, the 2060 carbon neutrality action plan for China is discussed, focusing on the implementation plan and technical route and proposing the corresponding plans. The purpose of this paper is to accelerate the pace of China's achievement of this goal and to provide feasible solutions and pathways to its achievement through insight into global carbon neutrality hotspots and new trends.
