Abstract
Aim: This study aimed to investigate the associations between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of IL-6 (-174G/C), microRNA146a (rs2910164C/G) and MALAT1 (rs619586A/G) and susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Egyptians.Methods: SNPs were genotyped in 101 RA patients and 104 controls. Expression levels were evaluated either by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for IL-6 or quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) for miR-146a and MALAT1.Results: IL-6-174 GC (OR = 3.422) genotype, IL-6-174 C allele (OR = 2.565), miR-146a (rs2910164) CG (OR = 2.190) and MALAT1 (rs619586) AA (OR = 4.125) genotypes and A allele (OR = 6.122) could be considered as risk factors for RA. An increase in the expression of IL-6, miR-146a and MALAT1 was detected in RA patients, which was independent of any SNP.Conclusion: SNPs of IL-6, miR-146a and MALAT1were linked to RA predisposition in Egyptians.

Abstract
The clustered homeobox gene family known as the Hox family plays a fundamental role in the morphogenesis of the vertebrate's embryo. A long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), known as HOTTIP (HOXA transcript at the distal tip), has been functionally characterized and contributed to the pathogenesis of various conditions. The current case-control study was undertaken to examine the gene frequencies and shared alleles of the HOTTIP gene in Iranian participants with or without idiopathic recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA). Both ARMS-PCR reaction and RFLP-PCR techniques were employed to detect three HOTTIP polymorphisms (rs2023843C/T, rs78248039A/T, and rs1859168C/A) in a DNA sample of 161 women with RSA and 177 healthy women. We found that the TT genotype of the HOTTIP rs2023843 C/T polymorphism was associated with a lower risk for idiopathic RSA. In contrast, the TT genotype of the HOTTIP rs78248039 A/T polymorphism was correlated with an enhanced risk of RSA. The presence of the A-allele for HOTTIP rs1859168 C/A polymorphism was associated with an increased risk for idiopathic RSA. Haplotype analysis showed that the T/T/A, C/T/A, T/T/C, and T/A/A haplotypes of rs2023843/rs78248039/rs1859168 enhanced RSA susceptibility. Computational analysis predicted that this lncRNA might act as a potential sponge for some microRNAs; therefore, affecting the expression of genes being targeted by them. In addition, both rs2023843 and rs1859168 variants could alter the local secondary structure of HOTTIP. Our results showed that HOTTIP rs2023843C/T, rs78248039A/T, and rs1859168C/A polymorphisms may confer genetic susceptibility to idiopathic RSA in an Iranian population.

Abstract
Recurrent implantation failure (RIF) is a complex clinical entity with several molecular pathways contributing to its pathogenesis. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have recently been found to affect the normal implantation, thus aberrant expression of these transcripts is involved in RIF. Altered expression of HOXA11-AS, NONHSAT193031.1, NONHSAT053761.2, NONHSAT083203.2, LUCAT1, PART1, TUNAR, LINC02190, lncSAMD11-1:1 and H19 has been reported in this condition. Moreover, polymorphisms within some lncRNAs have been shown to be associated with miscarriage/RIF. The current review article summarizes the recent data about the role of lncRNAs in RIF. This information would pave the way for identification of the molecular events in this context.

Abstract
The antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the persistent presence of antibodies directed against phospholipids and phospholipid-binding proteins that are associated with thrombosis and pregnancy-related morbidity. The latter includes fetal deaths, premature birth and maternal complications. In the early 1990s, a distinct set of autoantibodies, termed collectively antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL), were identified as the causative agents of this disorder. Subsequently histological analyses of the placenta from APS pregnancies revealed various abnormalities, including inflammation at maternal-fetal interface and poor placentation manifested by reduced trophoblast invasion and limited uterine spiral artery remodeling. Further preclinical investigations identified the molecular targets of aPL and the downstream intracellular pathways of key placental cell types. While these discoveries suggest potential therapeutics for this disorder, definitive clinical trials have not been completed. This concise review focuses on the recent developments in the field of basic and translational research pursuing novel mechanisms underlying obstetric APS.

Abstract
Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) or recurrent miscarriage is the failure of pregnancy before 20-24 weeks that influences around 2-5% of couples. Several genetic, immunological, environmental and physical factors may influence RPL. Although various traditional methods have been used to treat post-implantation failures, identifying the mechanisms underlying RPL may improve an effective treatment. Recent evidence suggested that gene expression alterations presented essential roles in the occurrence of RPL. It has been found that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play functional roles in pregnancy pathologies, such as recurrent miscarriage. lncRNAs can function as dynamic scaffolds, modulate chromatin function, guide and bind to microRNAs (miRNAs) or transcription factors. lncRNAs, by targeting various miRNAs and mRNAs, play essential roles in the progression or suppression of RPL. Therefore, targeting lncRNAs and their downstream targets might be a suitable strategy for diagnosis and treatment of RPL. In this review, we summarized emerging roles of several lncRNAs in stimulation or suppression of RPL.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Antiphospholipid syndrome is an autoimmune disease characterized by pregnancy-related morbidity, related to persistent positivity of antiphospholipid antibodies (APL). One of the characteristics of pregnancy-related morbidity in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome is recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA). This study aimed to examine the mechanism through which metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1) regulates methyl-CpG-binding domain protein 4 (MBD4) expression in APL-positive RSA. METHODS Clinical samples were subjected to microarray analysis to filter differentially expressed genes. RSA mice with APL positivity were generated, followed by adenoviral vector injection to artificially upregulate MALAT1. The effects of MALAT1 on the biological behavior of trophoblast cells were assessed. The downstream mechanism of MALAT1 was analyzed using subcellular fractionation and bioinformatics prediction, and the relationship between MALAT1 and CREB binding protein (CREBBP) or MBD4 was investigated in trophoblast cells. RESULTS MALAT1 was downregulated in APL-positive RSA patients. MALAT1 was predominantly localized in the nucleus and recruited CREBBP to mediate the MBD4 transcription. In the APL-positive RSA mice overexpressing MALAT1, the expression of soluble Fms-related tyrosine kinase 1 and anticardiolipin antibody and the embryonic resorption rate were decreased, indicating that MALAT1 reduced the occurrence of RSA in mice. Moreover, MALAT1 enhanced proliferation, migration, and invasion of trophoblast cells through recruiting CREBBP to promote MBD4 expression. Silencing of CREBBP or MBD4 increased embryonic resorption rate in RSA mice overexpressing MALAT1. DISCUSSION MALAT1 suppresses APL-positive RSA by promoting MBD4 transcription through recruitment of CREBBP to the MBD4 promoter region.

Abstract
The abnormal expression of long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) in platelet-derived microparticles (PMPs) is closely related to immune disorders and may lead to antiphospholipid antibody syndrome and recurrent miscarriage. To understand the association between the LncRNAs in PMPs and RM/APS, the differences in the expression of LncRNAs in RM/APS patients and healthy controls were analyzed. Microarray analysis and RT-qPCR detection proved that RM/APS patient exhibited high levels of LncNR_040117 expression. The lentiviral silent expression transfection of HTR-8/SVneo cells indicated that LncNR_040117 downregulation decreased the activity of HTR-8/SVneo cells and inhibited the MAPK signaling pathway, further confirming the biomarker proficiency of LncNR_040117 for RM/APS. After that, we proposed a β-In2S3@g-C3N4 nanoheterojunction-based photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensor to achieve the ultrasensitive detection of LncNR_040117. The nanoheterojunction aids in the effective separation of photogenerated carriers and significantly improve the photocurrent response of the biosensor. The conjugation of LncNR_040117 onto the PEC biosensing platform increased the steric hindrance between electrolyte and electrode, subsequently decreasing the photocurrent signal. The PEC biosensor showed a wide detection range of 0.1-106 fM and a low limit of detection of 0.025 fM. For clinical sample testing, the results of the PEC and RT-qPCR were highly consistent. Overall, LncNR_040117 in PMPs was identified as an effective biomarker for RM/APS and could be accurately detected by the proposed PEC biosensor, which is expected to provide a reliable diagnostic platform for RM/APS.

Abstract
Recurrent miscarriage (RM) is a complicated disease in reproductive medicine that impacts many families. Currently, the etiology of RM is thought to include chromosome abnormalities, reproductive tract malformations, autoimmune dysfunction, infection, and environmental factors. However, the underlying mechanisms of RM remain unknown. At present, research on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) is rapidly emerging and becoming a hot research topic in epigenetic studies. Recent studies revealed that lncRNAs are strongly linked to RM and play a crucial role in epigenetic, cell cycle, cell differentiation regulation, and other life activities. This article mainly reviews the difference in lncRNA expression in patients with RM and regulation of susceptibility, endometrial receptivity, and the maternal-fetal interface. Meanwhile, the correlation between lncRNAs and RM is expounded, which provides new insights for the early diagnosis and treatment of RM.

Abstract
Background: LncRNA MALAT1 (metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1) was competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) involved in various molecular processes for metastasis development in lung cancer. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in MALAT1 gene might be predictive markers for lung cancer. In our study, we selected rs619586 and rs3200401 in MALAT1 gene to explore their effects on lung cancer susceptibility. Methods: The case-control study included 444 lung cancer cases and 460 healthy controls. Genotyping was performed by Taqman allelic discrimination method. Logistic regression, Student t-test, and Chi-square test (χ2 ) were used to analyze the data. Results: The findings of the study showed that rs3200401 was significantly associated with the risk of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Compared with homozygous CC genotype, CT heterozygous genotype decreased risk of NSCLC (Pa = 0.034) and LUSC (Pa = 0.025). In addition, no statistical association was detected between rs619586 and lung cancer susceptibility. The interactions between genes and cigarette smoking were discovered via crossover analysis. However, there were no remarkable gene-environment interactions in additive and multiplicative model. Conclusion: Rs3200401 in lncRNA MALAT1 was associated with the susceptibility of non-small-cell lung cancer and lung squamous cell carcinoma. The gene-environmental (cigarette smoking) interactions were not notable.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Plenty of studies have indicated that some genetic polymorphisms of the breast cancer which associated with its susceptibility may also be related to the susceptibility of abortion. MIR2052HG plays an important role in the onset and progression of breast cancer by maintaining the level of ERα, but to the best of our knowledge, the correlation between risk of recurrent abortion and MIR2052HG rs3802201 C>G polymorphism is still unclear. Therefore, we conducted this case-control study to investigate whether MIR2052HG rs3802201 C>G polymorphism is associated with susceptibility of recurrent miscarriage (RM). METHODS We recruited 392 healthy controls and 248 patients with RM to process this research, the participants were all from southern China, and genotyping was performed by TaqMan method. RESULTS Our results showed that there was no evidence indicates the MIR2052HG rs3802201 C>G is related to RM (CG and CC: adjusted OR = 0.970, 95% CI = 0.694-1.355, p = 0.8577; GG and CC: adjusted OR = 0.743, 95% CI = 0.416-1.330, p = 0.3174; dominant model: adjusted OR = 0.925, 95% CI = 0.672-1.272, p = 0.6298; recessive model: adjusted OR = 0.751, 95% CI = 0.430-1.321, p = 0.3233). CONCLUSION We verified that the MIR2052HG rs3802201 C>G allele might be uncorrelated to the RM risk, but these findings require further validation in multicenter studies with larger sample size and different ethnicities.

Abstract
MALAT1 is a long non-coding transcript that affects immune reactions, thus being involved in the pathoaetiology of immune-related conditions. We investigated the associations between two genetic variants in MALAT1 and susceptibility to psoriasis in the Iranian population. The G allele of rs619586 has been shown to be less common among cases versus controls (odds ratios (OR; 95% confidence intervals (CI)) = 0.57 (0.36-0.9)), adjusted p = .02). This single nucleotide polymorphism has been associated with the risk of psoriasis in a dominant model (AG + GG vs. AA: OR (95% CI) = 0.56 (0.35-0.92), adjusted p = .04) as well as log-additive model (OR (95% CI) = 0.59 (0.38-0.92), adjusted p = .04). The rs3200401 was not associated with psoriasis in any of the supposed inheritance models. This study potentiates rs619586 as a risk locus for psoriasis in the Iranian population.

Abstract
Background Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is one of the common complication of pregnancy, bringing heavy burden to the patients and their families. The study aimed to explore the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network associated with recurrent spontaneous abortion. Methods By transcriptome sequencing, we detected differences in lncRNA, miRNA and mRNA expression in villus tissue samples collected from 3 patients with RSA and 3 normal abortion patients. Differentially expressed lncRNAs, miRNAs and genes (DELs, DEMs and DEGs, respectively) were identified, and Geno Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses were used to determine the functions of DELs and DEGs, which were analysed by Fisher’s test. We also observed the regulatory relationships between miRNA-mRNA and lncRNA-miRNA by Cytoscape 3.6.1. Results The results showed that 1008 DELs (523 upregulated and 485 downregulated), 475 DEGs (201 upregulated and 274 downregulated) and 37 DEMs (15 upregulated and 22 downregulated) were identified. And we also constructed a novel lncRNA-related ceRNA network containing 31 lncRNAs, 1 miRNA (hsa-miR-210-5p) and 3 genes (NTNG2, GRIA1 and AQP1). Conclusions lncRNA-related ceRNA network containing 31 lncRNAs, 1 miRNA (hsa-miR-210-5p) and 3 mRNAs (NTNG2, GRIA1 and AQP1) was constructed. The results may provide a basic theory for elucidating the mechanism underlying RSA. Abstract
AIM To investigate the association between Hox transcript antisenses RNA (HOTAIR) polymorphisms, rs12826786 C/T, rs920778 T/C, rs4759314 A/G, and rs1899663 G/T, with recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) susceptibility in the Iranian women. METHODS We enrolled 161 patients diagnosed with RSA and 177 healthy women with at least one live birth without a history of abortion. Genotyping of HOTAIR polymorphisms was carried out using both restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction and amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction methods. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were assessed to estimate the strength of association. RESULTS Different inheritance models of rs12826786 C/T, rs920778 T/C, and rs1899663 G/T polymorphisms significantly enhanced the risk of RSA (p < 0.05), whereas the rs4759314 A/G polymorphism was correlated with diminished risk of developing RSA under recessive AA versus GA + GG (OR 0.42 [95% CI = 0.19-0.91]), log-additive GG versus GA vs. GG (OR 0.67 [95% CI = 0.48-0.93]), and allelic A versus G (OR 0.65 [95% CI = 0.47-0.92]) models. Moreover, the TGTC, TTCT, TTTC, CGTC, CGTT, CTCC, CTCT, CTTC, and CTTT haplotypes of rs920778/rs1899663/rs12826786/ significantly increased the risk of RSA. The studied variants were not in strong linkage disequilibrium. CONCLUSIONS Our results indicated that variations in the HOTAIR gene might serve as beneficial biomarkers for determining susceptibility to RSA. To confirm these findings, replication studies with a larger population and different races are needed.

Abstract
Background Genetic factors may play an important role in susceptibility to recurrent miscarriage. Some cardiovascular disease-related candidate genes have been shown to be associated with recurrent miscarriage. Long noncoding RNA ANRIL has been confirmed to be associated with susceptibility to various diseases, such as cardiovascular disease. However, it remains unclear whether the ANRIL gene polymorphism is related to recurrent miscarriage susceptibility. Methods Three ANRIL gene polymorphisms (rs2151280, rs1063192 and rs564398) were genotyped in 819 controls and 610 recurrent miscarriage patients through TaqMan real-time polymerase chain reaction. The odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the strength of each association. Results Our results showed that the ANRIL rs2151280 GG genotype was associated with increased susceptibility to recurrent miscarriage (GG vs AA: adjusted OR=1.527, 95% CI=1.051–2.218, p=0.0262; GG vs AG/AA adjusted OR=1.460, 95% CI=1.021–2.089, p=0.0381). By combining the analysis of the risk genotypes in the three SNPs, we found that individuals with 2–3 risk genotypes had a significantly increased risk of recurrent miscarriage compared with those with a 0–1 risk genotype (adjusted OR=1.728, 95% CI=1.112–2.683, p=0.0149). This risk was more significant in subgroups of women less than 35–40 years of age and women with 2–3 miscarriages. Conclusion These results suggested that a specific SNP in the ANRIL gene may be associated with increased susceptibility to recurrent miscarriage in a southern Chinese population.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the mechanism by which MALAT1 regulates CRY2 expression and participates in trophoblast migration and invasion. Three patients with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion, four patients with missed abortion, and four women who underwent artificial miscarriages were enrolled in this study. Quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis were used to detect RNA and protein expression, respectively. Trophoblast migration and invasion were detected by wound-healing and transwell invasion assays. RNA pull-down and Co-IP assays were used to indicate the interaction between MALAT1 and FBXW7 or the interaction between FBXW7 and CRY2. The results showed significantly decreased MALAT1 expression in the villous specimens from the RSA patients relative to that in the villous specimens from the missed abortion patients and the normal villous specimens. MALAT1 promoted trophoblast cell migration and invasion by negatively regulating CRY2 protein expression. MALAT1 recruited FBXW7 to impair CRY2 protein stability. In conclusion, MALAT1 downregulation in trophoblasts might be related to miscarriage. MALAT1 may recruit the E3 ubiquitin ligase FBXW7 to induce CRY2 ubiquitin-mediated degradation and participate in trophoblast migration and invasion.

Abstract
Endometriosis is a common estrogen-dependent inflammatory disease characterized by the presence of endometrial-like tissue outside the uterine cavity, which causes infertility and pelvic pain. Polymorphisms in MALAT1 have been demonstrated to play crucial roles in many diseases. However, the roles of MALAT1 polymorphisms in the etiology of endometriosis have not been well documented. We genotyped three MALAT1 polymorphisms in 555 endometriosis patients and 535 female control participants using quantitative polymerase chain reaction with TaqMan probes. To estimate the associations between MALAT1 polymorphisms and endometriosis risk, an unconditional logistic regression model was conducted to calculate an odds ratio (OR) and the 95% confidence interval (CI), adjusting for age, abortion history, number of deliveries, Body Mass Index (BMI), and The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage. We found that the MALAT1 rs591291 C > T polymorphism significantly enhanced endometriosis risk (heterogeneous: adjusted OR = 1.36, 95% CI = 1.00-1.85, P = 0.050; homogenous: adjusted OR = 1.55, 95% CI = 1.03-2.33, P = 0.037; dominant: adjusted OR = 1.41, 95% CI = 1.05-1.88, P = 0.021). In stratification analyses, these associations were more predominant in the patients younger than 35 years old, with a relatively high number of deliveries and with a BMI between 25 and 29.9. Compared with wild-type CCG haplotype carriers, individuals with TCC haplotypes had a higher risk of developing endometriosis. The MALAT1 rs591291 C > T polymorphism was associated with a significant increase in endometriosis risk.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy worldwide. Polymorphisms in MALAT1 have been demonstrated to play critical roles in cancer. However, the roles of MALAT1 polymorphisms in the etiology of endometrial cancer have not been well documented. METHODS We genotyped three MALAT1 polymorphisms in 249 endometrial cancer cases and 446 cancer-free female controls using quantitative polymerase chain reaction with TaqMan probes. To estimate the association between MALAT1 polymorphisms (rs591291 C>T, rs664589 C>G, and rs4102217 G>C) and the risk of endometrial cancer, an unconditional logistic regression model was conducted to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and the 95% confidence interval (CI), adjusting for surgery history, menopause, number of deliveries, BMI, and FIGO stage. RESULTS We found that the MALAT1 rs664589 C>G polymorphism was significantly associated with endometrial cancer risk (heterogeneous: adjusted OR = 0.57, 95% CI = 0.34-0.93, P = .026; homogenous: adjusted OR = 3.74, 95% CI = 1.12-12.45, P = .032; and recessive: adjusted OR = 4.06, 95% CI = 1.22-13.48, P = .022). Stratified analysis further demonstrated that the MALAT1 rs664589 C>G polymorphism significantly increased the risk of endometrial cancer susceptibility in patients with no history of surgery, more deliveries, BMI between 25 and 29.9, and FIGO stages II-III. Compared with the wild-type GCG haplotype carriers, individuals with CGG haplotypes had a higher risk of developing endometrial cancer. CONCLUSION The MALAT1 rs664589 C>G polymorphism was associated with a significant increase in endometrial cancer risk.

Abstract
Genetic susceptibility may be involved in the onset of recurrent miscarriage. Previous studies have shown that some genetic polymorphisms that regulate cell migration are associated with susceptibility to recurrent miscarriage. The SOX2 overlapping transcript (SOX2OT) may regulate the migration and invasion of multiple tumor cells and is related to susceptibility to various diseases. However, whether lncRNA SOX2OT polymorphisms are related to recurrent miscarriage susceptibility is unclear. Therefore, we investigated the relationship between the lncRNA SOX2OT rs9839776 C>T polymorphism and recurrent miscarriage susceptibility. We recruited 570 subjects with recurrent miscarriage and 578 healthy control subjects from a population in southern China and used the TaqMan method for genotyping. We found a significant association between the rs9839776 CT genotype in the SOX2OT gene and an increased risk for recurrent miscarriage (CT vs CC: adjusted OR = 1.357, 95%CI = 1.065 - 1.728, P = 0.0134). However, we did not observe any significant associations between the recurrent miscarriage risk and the number of miscarriages in different age groups. In conclusion, our study indicated that the rs9839776 CT genotype may contribute to an increased risk of recurrent miscarriage in the southern Chinese population and that rs9839776 may act as a prognostic biomarker in recurrent miscarriage patients. However, an experiment-based study with a larger sample size should be performed to confirm these results.

Abstract
Previous studies have revealed that genetic variation in genes that regulate cell migration might be associated with susceptibility to recurrent spontaneous abortion. HULC regulates the migration of a variety of cells, and genetic polymorphisms of HULC are associated with susceptibility to a variety of diseases, but their association with susceptibility to recurrent spontaneous abortion has not been reported. This study included 610 cases of recurrent spontaneous abortion and 817 normal controls, and the polymorphisms of the four SNPs were genotyped using the TaqMan method. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated to assess the associations between selected SNPs and susceptibility to recurrent spontaneous abortion. Our results showed that three SNPs were significantly associated with a reduced risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion: rs1041279 (GG vs. GC/CC: adjusted OR = 0.745, 95% CI = 0.559–0.993, P = 0.0445), rs7770772 (GC/CC vs. GG: adjusted OR = 0.757, 95% CI = 0.606–0.946, P = 0.0143), and rs17144343 (AA/GA vs GG adjusted OR = 0.526, 95% CI = 0.366–0.755, P = 0.0005). Individuals with one to four genotypes showed a reduced risk of recurrent spontaneous abortion (adjusted OR = 0.749, 95% CI = 0.598–0.939, P = 0.0123). This cumulative effect on protection increased with increases in the observed number of genotypes (adjusted OR = 0.727, 95% CI = 0.625–0.846, ptrend < 0.0001). Our study suggests that HULC might be a biomarker for risk for recurrent spontaneous abortion, but larger sample studies are needed to verify this result.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Studies have shown that some genetic polymorphisms associated with breast cancer susceptibility may also be associated with abortion. The TOX3 gene plays a key role during the onset of breast cancer, and reproductive factors such as abortion are risk factors for breast cancer. However, there is currently no study describing the relationship between the TOX3 rs3803662 C>T polymorphism and the risk of recurrent miscarriage. Therefore, we investigated whether the TOX3 rs3803662 C>T polymorphism is associated with recurrent miscarriage susceptibility in this case-control study. METHODS We recruited 248 recurrent miscarriage patients and 392 healthy controls from the southern Chinese population and performed genotyping using the TaqMan method. RESULTS The results showed no evidence that TOX3 rs3803662 C>T is associated with recurrent miscarriage (CT and CC: corrected OR = 1.038, 95% CI = 0.737-1.461, P = .8321; TT and CC: adjusted OR = 0.989, 95% CI = 0.591-1.656, P = .9659; dominant model: adjusted OR = 1.027, 95% CI = 0.742-1.423, P = .8712; recessive model: adjusted OR = 0.969, 95% CI = 0.600-1.566, P = .8975). CONCLUSION According to this study, the TOX3 rs3803662 C>T polymorphism may not be associated with recurrent miscarriage in the southern Chinese population. A larger multicenter study is needed to confirm the results.
