Abstract
Fouling and biofouling remain significant challenges in seawater desalination plants. One practical approach to address these issues is to develop anti-biofouling membranes. Therefore, novel hybrid zinc phthalocyanine/polyvinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene (Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc/PVDF-HFP) membranes were prepared by electrospinning to evaluate their properties against biofouling. The hybrid nanofiber membrane was characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM), attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, and contact angle measurements. The theoretical calculations of PVDF-HFP, Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc), and Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc/PVDF-HFP nanofibers were performed using a hybrid functional RB3LYP and the 6-31 G (d,p) basis set, employing Gaussian 09. DFT calculations illustrated that the calculated physical and electronic parameters ensured the feasibility of the interaction of PVDF-HFP with Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc via a halogen-hydrogen bond, resulting in a highly stable and remarkably reactive structure. Moreover, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) maps were drawn to identify the reactive regions of the Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc and PVDF-HFP/Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc nanofibers. Molecular docking analysis revealed that Zn(4-PPOx)4Pc has highest binding affinity (-8.56 kcal/mol) with protein from S. aureus (1N67) mainly with ten amino acids (ASP405, LYS374, GLU446, ASN406, ALA441, TYR372, LYS371, TYR448, LYS374, and ALA442). These findings highlight the promising potential of Zn(4-PPOx) 4Pc/PVDF-HFP nanocomposite membranes in improving the efficiency of water desalination by reducing biofouling and providing antibacterial properties.

Abstract
A magnetite chlorodeoxycellulose/ferroferric oxide (CDC@Fe3O4) heterogeneous photocatalyst was synthesised via treated and modified cotton in two steps. The designed nanocomposites were characterised by FTIR, TGA, XRD, SEM, and VSM analyses. The Fenton-photocatalytic decomposition efficiency of the synthesised magnetic catalyst was evaluated under visible sunlight using Methyl Orange (MO) as a model organic pollutant. The impacts of several degradation parameters, including the light source, catalyst load, irradiation temperature, oxidant dose, and pH of the dye aqueous solution and its corresponding concentration on the Fenton photodegradation performance, were methodically investigated. The (CDC@Fe3O4) heterogeneous catalyst showed a remarkable MO removal rate of 97.9% at 10 min under visible-light irradiation. (CDC@Fe3O4) nanomaterials were also used in a heterogeneous catalytic optimised protocol for a multicomponent reaction procedure to obtain nine tetra-substituted imidazole derivatives. The green protocol afforded imidazole derivatives in 30 min with good yields (91-97%) at room temperature and under ultrasound irradiation. Generally, a synthesised recyclable heterogeneous nano-catalyst is a good example and is suitable for wastewater treatment and organic synthesis.

Abstract
In this study, an effective type-II heterojunction CdS/AgI binary composite was constructed by an in situ precipitation approach. To validate the successful formation of heterojunction between AgI and CdS photocatalysts, the synthesized binary composites were characterized by various analytical techniques. UV-vis diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy (UV-vis DRS) revealed that heterojunction formation led to a red shift in the absorbance spectra of the CdS/AgI binary composite. The optimized 20AgI/CdS binary composite showed a least intense photoluminescence (PL) peak indicating highly improved charge carrier (e-/h+ pairs) separation efficiency. The photocatalytic efficiency of the synthesized materials was assessed based on the degradation of methyl orange (MO) and tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) in the presence of visible light. Compared to bare photocatalysts and other binary composites, the 20AgI/CdS binary composite showed the highest photocatalytic degradation performances. Additionally, the trapping studies showed that superoxide radical anion (O2•-) was the most dominant active species involved in photodegradation processes. Based on the results of active species trapping studies, a mechanism was proposed to describe the formation of type-II heterojunctions for CdS/AgI binary composite. Overall, the synthesized binary composite has tremendous promise for environmental remediation due to its straightforward synthesis approach and excellent photocatalytic efficacy.

Abstract
In this study, we investigated the potential of palladium tetrakis (imidazole) phthalocyanine (PdPc(Imz)4) for use as an organic semiconductor for improving the photovoltaic performance. In order to get more information about the prevailing model of the conduction mechanism (correlated barrier hopping (CBH)) for PdPc(Imz)4, electrical impedance measurements were performed at different temperatures and the obtained data were simulated by the Kohlraush Williams Watt (KWW) approach. Theoretical studies (density functional theory (DFT)) were performed and molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) maps were also extracted to understand the relationship between the molecular structures and the molecular electronic structure of PdPc(Imz)4 and its semiconductor properties. Furthermore, studies on the AC electrical process as a function of temperature highlighted a hopping charge transport according to an equivalent electrical circuit composed of a parallel constant-phase element (CPE), capacitance in the grain boundary layer (C g), and resistance of the grain boundary (R g). To improve interpretation of the results, an in-depth analysis of the behavior of the electric transport was conducted. As a result, the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) conduction mechanism was shown to be the most suitable predominant conduction mechanism.

Comparison of Three Catalytic Processes in Degradation of HPAM by tBu-TPyzPzCo. Catalysts 2021. Abstract
The present study describes a two-step synthesis process for the cobalt complex of tetra-2,3-(5,6-di-tert-butyl-pyrazino) porphyrazine (tBu-TPyzPzCo). The product was ultrasonically impregnated onto carbon black (CB) to prepare a supported catalyst (tBu-TPyzPzCo/CB). We built a split photoelectric catalytic device to test the performance of photocatalytic, electrocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic degradation of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM). The results confirm that HPAM exhibited more efficient degradation in the presence of a supporting catalyst using the photoelectrocatalytic process than by photocatalytic or electrocatalytic oxidation—or even the sum of the two in saline water. The photoelectrocatalytic reaction confirmed that the process conforms to quasi-first order reaction kinetics, while the reaction rate constants were 6.03 times that of photocatalysis and 3.97 times that of electrocatalysis. We also compared the energy consumption of the three processes and found that the photoelectrocatalytic process has the highest energy efficiency.
